It’s interesting that you don’t deny the authenticity of the relics – but are bothered by the reverence given them. Clearly the Catholic Church historically has the saints of old – & then some. I think in seeing the level of reverence given the saints’ relics, it should make one wonder what it means to be united to Christ – to be spiritually adopted children of God – to partake of the Divine nature – to be in the communion of saints – to be immortal – to share in His glory – all of which are Scriptural.

The Church has the saints – their incorruptible bodies – their bones – their sacred remains because they are united to Christ. Christ is holy, & the saints in Christ are holy.
The Church reveres those who’d fought the good fight & ran the race to the finish so as to win the crown of life in accordance with Scripture.
I would say that outsiders to the faith have no such history – nor the saints – nor reverence for the sacred because they do not recognize Christ in the saints.
Christ said that one day the wheat would be separated from the tares. Things would occur testing the faith of the faithful, & some will fall away, but that eternal life would
come to those who remain faithful to the end.
