The mother of all corruption and shame.The Catholic Church of Amiens in France have kept John the Baptists skull on a plate.
Jesus explains there have never been a greater man than John the Baptist walking the Earth. Still a Catholic Church in France, feels the need to keep a skull on a plate, and claims it is the very head of the baptist.
Surely this picture is insane enough. But what should make the Catholic World grasping for fresh air, is an Italian claim, that the skull of the baptist is also to be found in Church of S.Sivestro in Rome. To be correct, only the backside of the skull has been kept in the city of the Vatican. And this piece of the head can be adored and venerated at a glass mounter.
We need to take a look at a lot of pictures. Lets start with the photos from the Church in France.
This is the official Catholic story:
The head of John the Baptist on display in Amiens Cathedral. The relic was brought back from Constantinople (modern Istanbul) in 1206 after the sacking of the city by the Fourth Crusade.
The best site with photos of this skull, is made by an Orthodox “Christian”. Take a look.
Since both Rome and a city in France is involved here, we have a problem with a dual claim to the same head. It is worth noticing that both these two Catholic Churches admit that they do support Catholic priests who have fought over a skull, and broken it into at least two pieces.
The skull, or the head of John the Baptist, is nevertheless
not so “impressive” inside the Church in the city of Rome. Lets take a look:

This is surely one of the most bizarre example of Church adoration and veneration of any item. Two half skulls, separated by two national borders, by two Churches that both has the Pope as their head.
But this story does not end here. To make the legacy of John the Baptist more complicated, the Grand Mosque of Damascus Syria also claim to have the head of John the Baptist. This head is kept in a small chapel inside the Islamic dome.

Sheltered inside the mosque is the small chapel and shrine of John the Baptist (Prophet Yahia to the Muslims) where tradition holds that the head of John is buried. One legend says that when the church was demolished, his head was found underneath, complete with skin and hair. This head is believed by some to possess magical powers and continues to be the focus of the Mandaeans’ annual pilgrimage, when they press their foreheads against the metal grill of the shrine and reportedly experience prophetic visions.
And there is also a forth claim to the head, of the Jew who baptized the savior of the World. This head is kept in a Museum in the German city of Munich. In the Residenze, a castle belonging to the past Catholic Kings of Bavaria.
If is of course difficult to understand, what is so special about people who keep the head of John the Baptist on a platter.
It was only the completely wicked and evil wife of King Herod who took pleasure in such a gruesome sight. And probably also King Herod and his staff and followers.
Why do our modern day Church goers want to share her joy, and probably also Herodias final destination?
It is bad enough to see four different institutions trying to convince the World, they they have the genuine skull. The story eventually fall into the deepest pit of perversion, when a handful of Catholic and Orthodox Churches claim they have collected parts of his headless body.
These claim presented by religious people, should leave the World’s best pathologists speechless.
The Ottoman Empire did not only manage to slaughter and kill 1,5 million Armenians in the bloodiest genocide prior to the Holocaust. In Topkapi Palace Museum in Istanbul, modern day Turkey claim they have both his right arm, and a part of his skill. In fact, the top of his skull.
I am sure many Muslims will be puzzled by the fact, that Islam do collect such items for adoration, just like collection of any idols. The same Museum also claim to be the correct holder of some of Muhammad’s beard. The Islamic relics does not look very different from the Catholics. But that is a different story.
The problem with the Turkish claim of holding the right arm of John the Baptists, is that an Greek Orthodox Church claims to have the very same hand in its collection of relics.
And a Orthodox Church in Bulgaria recently claims they found one tooth of the Baptist.
The story of the corrupt Catholic Word of relics could have been continued for years. But there is surely a limit of how much perversion my readers can take.
Let me make a summery:
We know that John the Baptist lost his head, but not His salvation.
All those who have made a mockery out of his legacy, deserve to be beheaded today it self. But that kind of punishment would not be Biblical.
There is something eternal and much worse waiting for them, the day they find them self in the fire of Hell, both body and soul.

I love all Catholics. But I warn people about Catholicism. There is nothing good hidden inside the Vatican. I pray that all Catholics shall come to know the truth about this very corrupt and wicked religious system. I hope and pray I will find my own Catholic family members inside the Kingdom of Heaven. I can not save them. But I will keep on telling them the truth.
I pray the same for mine. I was born and brought up in a Catholic family but by God’s grace I left after getting born again and discovering the falsehood in it. My parents and siblings are still deeply rooted in it, and all I can do is pray that one day the truth will also dawn on them.

My Comment: Everytime I think I can’t be more shocked at the perversion of people, then something new comes along and I’m even more shocked/devestated.
I wonder to those that claim these things with bones, and John the Baptist, if they don’t repent, I wonder what they will tell God on the day of judgment.

When I became A Christian, many of my old atheist friends became angry. One of them shouted: Have you become a Christian?
My answer was, ‘no”. Since this friend had read a huge front page cover of my conversion, He kept on shouting. : – Now, you have became insane. You just went public with your new faith in Jesus.

If I have to defend all wrongs that has been done in the name of “Christianity”, or in the name of the “Church”, even in the name of “Jesus”, I am surely not that kind of “Christian”. But I have found a new friend, I can no longer live without. His name is Jesus of Nazareth. He is the greatest Jew that ever lived, and He is the only begotten Son of God.
Among believers, I do call my self a Christian. Because they are supposed to believe in the Word of God, and understand the true meaning of the word “Christianity”. Among non Believers who see all the wickedness branded as “Christianity”, like keeping skulls inside Churches, I have to admit that there are hundreds of millions of false Christians around, who have sold out their souls to Satan.
Their wickedness keeps other hundreds of millions away from the true faith. Its a scam, its a huge tragedy. What Jesus said becomes a reality. The gates of Hell is wide open, and most of the people on Earth are not at all interested in walking the narrow path. They will surely not be able to make it through the narrow gate.

It is a sad state indeed. Though I have known Christ all my life, and studied his word when I was younger, I only recently accepted him fully (about 2 years ago.)And I’ve been teaching my two children that Christ is the only way.
I am the middle child of five. I have two brothers and 2 sisters, and all four of them used to praise God and go to church. But they have fallen away, and I worry for them. They are spirtually blind, and have not seen the things I have seen. But everyday, I do not give up, and pray to Christ that they return to him.
It is hard. I’m disgusted with the moral decline of this world, and my own flesh and blood, think it is better to drink alcohol and do drugs.
But Christ did say when these things happen in the world; his coming is near. So now I just say, Christ I leave my family in your hands. But I continue to speak to them and pray, including to my mother who is now sick with dementia.

My question is, what if John the Baptist has incarnated on earth today? He is here now. What then? If he is here now, it’s because the world has sunk so low, it needs many good souls to counteract the evil, to balance the earth or we would sink to a state where there would be no return. So I suggest, leave those who choose to worship in whatever way they want. That in itself is positive. By the way, there is NO HELL.

The Grand Mosque of Damascus used to be a byzantine ‘church’ building, that was converted into a mosque.

Nevertheless, it is common even in Islam to have veneration at the tombs of various ‘saints’.
Many muslims also venerate ‘Maryam’ – catolic Mary.

As an Orthodox Christian and former Protestant, I would like to share my perspective on the “veneration of icons and holy relics”. To venerate means to honor similar to the way people may kiss the picture of a loved one after they have died. It is done to show love and respect, not worship. The Orthodox do not regard the body as “only a shell”, but rather that we are all made in the image of God and that alone makes our bodies holy. Because of this belief, we do not promote cremation, because it is the desecration of the body. Also, when women and men have dedicated their entire lives to the pursuit of holiness, many times when they die their bodies do not decay. These monks and nuns bodies are often kept intact in a tomb where they can be venerated by the faithful and often miracles have occurred when this happens. This is much like the teaching of Christ that we would do “greater things than these” referring to His miracles. As far as tradition goes, every denomination has a tradition or dogma, it is just that the Orthodox tradition has as its origin the Ascension of Christ not the last 200 years. Please do not hate what you do not understand.
You can call ’em “relics” til the cows come home – that doesn’t change the fact that at the end of the day these are STILL the bones – flesh – organs – and blood of DEAD PEOPLE.

And you can call it “venerating” or “adoration” all day long too – it doesn’t matter what fancy title you give it – what matters is the FACT that the RCC collects – stores – and then trots out the bones, flesh, blood and organs of dead people – to parade around and bow down to them – in their (witchcraft) rituals. There is a photograph I believe on Ivar’s site that shows a recent pope kissing a silver vial of a dead pope’s blood – and refers to it as “holy blood”. There’s also photos of petrified tongues – petrified hearts – they even claim to have Jesus’ foreskin for crying out loud – who does that but satan’s demons??

Don’t be ignorant about History. Before people were able to read or travel, the church brought relics to churches (and yes they sometimes bought them from disreputable salespeople) for people to learn about their religion and feel closer to the events. Not much different than science shows today. People don’t worship them or put them on display for ghoulish reasons.

You have the right to have your opinions. And many Catholics do voice their opinion. But they are not valid, related to correct teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. What is valid is what Catholicism is saying is the correct Roman Catholic faith. When you base your worship on mens opinions, you create your own image of “god”, and become an idol worshiper.

Matthew 7:21-23 warns us that many people surely will do a lot in the name of Jesus, and still face condemnation.
Can you expalin who these people are, those men who do wrong things in the name of Jesus?

What a totally ignorant (and illiterate) article. You cannot judge mediaeval religion by the standards of contemporary faith or ethics. While it may appear disgusting/irrelevant to the teaching of John and contrary to the heart of the Christian faith, people have always loved the things associated with people they have loved and admired. Would you throw your grandmother’s wedding ring in the bin? In the days before mass communication – before the printed word even – to have something associated with the heroes of your faith was very special. To rubbish it just shows how ignorant our present generation is.
It takes a sick soul to claim to have the head of John the Baptist – and then display it on a platter – I’m suspecting whoever makes their decisions on what to display their bones, flesh, blood and organs on – decided it would be funny to put it on a platter. My money is on the fact that it’s just that old serpent – satan – again – working through his evil “church” – causing them to get as many jabs in as he can against the one true Living God of the Bible.
