Pope: Jesus came to make us God

“For the Son of God became man so that we might become God.” This is written in the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church.

Pope1
The RCC believe Cardinals are gods, that become like God the moment they are elected Pope.

This is a direct quotation from the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church:

460 The Word became flesh to make us “partakers of the divine nature”:78 “For this is why the Word became man, and the Son of God became the Son of man: so that man, by entering into communion with the Word and thus receiving divine sonship, might become a son of God.”79 “For the Son of God became man so that we might become God.”80 “The only-begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods.”81

Have all Evangelical Christins misunderstood?

Is there one God, or are there any gods?  Including men as God?

What would be the scriptural base for such a Roman  Catholic doctrine?

John 10:34-35.
Jesus answered them, ‘Is it not written in your Law, “I have said you are ‘gods?  If he called them “gods”, to whom the word of God came – and Scripture cannot be set aside –

Jesus is quoting from the law, from the psalm 82 5-7:

The “gods” know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

‘I said, “You are ‘gods’;
you are all sons of the Most High.”
But you will die like mere mortals;
you will fall like every other ruler.

In Pslam 82:1, the word “gods” are in brackets. God the Bible mock his rivals. But the Roman Catholic Church use God’s mocking of “gods” to mock God.  Rome stands for an interesting spiritual short circuit, that is obviously utter blaphemy.

In the Bible, you can read about gods that were stolen. Idols.

Genesis 31:19
When Laban had gone to shear his sheep, Rachel stole her father’s household gods.

The foreign ‘gods” could not rescue them selves, when Jacob buried them:

Genesis 35:4
So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

What kind of “gods” are these?  Who provokes God of the Bible to anger?

Exodus 20:23
do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.

Leviticus 19:4
‘“Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the Lord your God.

That the Pope claims Jesus become a man so that man might become God, is heresy of its worst kind. In unites Roman Catholicism with the Buddhism and Hinduism.

The false “Christ” of Rome is not the the Messiah of the Bible.  Both the Messiah and the apostle Paul warred us about the copycats that were supposed to come:

Luke 21:8
He replied: ‘Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am he,” and, “The time is near.” Do not follow them.

2 Corinthians 11:4
For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

I do not know any better example, that proves the papacy to be a seat of falsehood, and the seat of an antichrist.

  1. Scriptures do elude to us becoming “gods” but not until after the resurrection.

Phillipians 3:21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

What it means literaly I guess you don’t know till you get there…

But the pope is probably means something else, trying to convince people that it happens when you become a Catholic or that it’s something of this world.

    1. Dear Edward

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

A created being can never become God. If so, God is or can be created. The word “gods” is something different. In Biblical terms, it is used for idols and demons.

      1. This towards Catechism says at all. This is what it says:

66 “The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.”[28] Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.

67 Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.

Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfilment, as is the case in certain nonChristian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations”.

        IN BRIEF

68 By love, God has revealed himself and given himself to man. He has thus provided the definitive, superabundant answer to the questions that man asks himself about the meaning and purpose of his life.

69 God has revealed himself to man by gradually communicating his own mystery in deeds and in words.

70 Beyond the witness to himself that God gives in created things, he manifested himself to our first parents, spoke to them and, after the fall, promised them salvation (cf. Gen 3:15) and offered them his covenant.

71 God made an everlasting covenant with Noah and with all living beings (cf. Gen 9:16). It will remain in force as long as the world lasts.

72 God chose Abraham and made a covenant with him and his descendants. By the covenant God formed his people and revealed his law to them through Moses. Through the prophets, he prepared them to accept the salvation destined for all humanity.

73 God has revealed himself fully by sending his own Son, in whom he has established his covenant for ever. The Son is his Father’s definitive Word; so there will be no further Revelation after him.

    2. Dear Edward.

      Shalom and love i Jesus.

The Pope has the serpent as his master. Their messages are the same:

      Genesis 3:4-5
‘You will not certainly die,’ the snake said to the woman. 5 ‘For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’

    3. Vatican City, Apr 18, 2016 / 10:57 am (CNA/EWTN News).- Speaking at morning Mass at the Santa Marta residence, Pope Francis on Monday urged the faithful not to seek salvation through anyone but Jesus alone, because he is the only way into heaven.

“The Lord thus clearly says: you cannot enter eternal life by any entryway that is not the door – that is not Jesus,” the Pope said during his April 18 homily, according to Vatican Radio’s translation. “He is the door of our life – and not only of eternal life, but also of our daily lives.”

If we do not make decisions “in the name of Jesus” – who is the door – we attempt to do so through a “smuggler’s hatch,” he said.

    4. It is expressing the faith of the Church in what is called “theosis” or divinization. It means that by grace – not be nature – our incorporation into Christ raises us up to participate in His Divinity as St. Peter teaches, not to have that divinity by our own right.

  2. Amen! I say according to the WORD of God that he is a devil! He has many demons to help him, 1/3 of the host of heaven. Humanly speaking the devils are behind all false religions! Do not the Mormon’s believe they will be gods, so do the New Agers, the ‘manifest sons of god’ people believe it to. So does Benny Hinn and all those liars on television. William Branham’s followers to this day, ‘The Call’ Lou Engle who kisses the priest feet! All roads lead to Rome! See here him kissing the feet! http://christiannews.net/2016/04/10/lou-engle-of-the-call-prostrates-himself-kisses-foot-of-catholic-leader-as-act-of-reconciliation/ All those who follow not Christ Jesus are little gods because they don’t believe the Word of God so they make up their own way. Does that not make them little gods in their eyes? Blessings!

    1. Dear Nannette.

      Shalom and love in Jesus.

Thanks for this link. Yes, the Word of Faith heretics, Lou Engle being one of them, are on their way back to Rome. The Pentecostal Charismatic movement is at its best in a state of doctrinal chaos.

  3. It was so unexpected to ever think I would see the church change and except to be in full apostasy.. I was listening to Joyce Myers as I flipped channels. she was talking about Romans 9 10 and 11 where Paul was teaching how G-d blinded the Jews for us heathens could become sons of G-d. She said: I looked at that verse and thot, wow, I never thot of what it means ..and she said: that we heathen gentiles could become sons of G-d and decided it meant little gods with a little g….Unreal..satanic madness….I still wonder how so many can fall from the truth..brings sorrow to my heart..G-d said HE would not stand on any hill with any other god..Despite love covers all, it doesn’t not cover blasphemy.. I have went to read more on what catholic teach and it says they know to that they are headed to Rome to be destroyed..and when dying Mother Teresa said she saw only darkness and had not faith..

    1. Dear Mama bear

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Joyce Meyer is also a Word of Faith preacher. Meyer and her flock believe man can speak things into reality, if we have enough faith. “You are what you say”, is one of their common doctrinal statement. Yes, I would like to say “I am a winnner”. But there is a flip side of the coin. If I say “I am God” it will be so….We are told to proclaim and repeat, and it will eventually happen!.

  4. It’s sort of irrelevant since whatever our reward in heaven or whatever we are in the next life is beyond our control. Except as the Serpent said you get it by disobeyeing God, scriptures say you attain “Sonship” by obeying God by believing in his Son. No other religion has that. What degree of literal and metaphor becoming “gods” is we don’t know. But metaphorically the church is the “body of Christ”, if Christ is a God then as the body of Christ those are part of the same God. After the resurection is says God will be “All in all”.

Those people telling people they are gods now are deceiving people since it describes us as currently in a “lowly” state. And I think the state of the world testifies to the truth of that.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Being eternal, is only one of the qualities of God. Yes, we have been granted eternal existence, and we are created in the image of God. But that do not make us God. Remember that Hell is also an eternal place, with everlasting flames. Still those who have to spend eternity there, are not God.

  5. Those bound for hell did not attain sonship through believing in Christ. No, they never become part of the body of Christ. Whatever it means to be raised up in immortality, spirtual beings, heirs to the kingdom of God, entering into God’s rest, is what they’re talking about.

  6. If one does not protest against Roman Catholicism they are no longer a Protestant….they are going right back to where God has delivered us from.

  7. But you don’t have to be a protestant to be saved, just a Christian who believes in Christ. To be delivered in this life and the next, according to the gospel. A protestant is still yoked to the catholic church if he is required to protest. Why not all Christians just call themselves Christians and be one?

    1. We are not even suppose to have any denominations. That is considered division. The reason why all don’t just call themselves Christian- one word- man.

      1. Dear Elisabeth

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

The reason for the existense of different denominations, is not any Evangelical wish to create division.

What is “division”? Divided from whom?

There in nothing like a uniformed global Church. That is a not biblical Catholic idea and concept.

The existense of local cultures, etnic groups will naturally lead to various forms of worship, and very different arrangments of meetings. Different fellowships will receieve different callings, and focus on different parts of the gospel.

There are also significant differences in view of core doctrines. Like the doctrine of baptism. In stead of being involved in endless brawlings and internal disturbances, it is wise that there are different congregrations. The Baptist demonination, which includes hundred of thousands of churches and fellowships, will propably never agree to infant baptism, being founded on scripture, etc.

      2. Yes, Ivar, I understand that, thank you. BUT there are not to be any divisions in the body:
        1 Corinthians 1:10
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

      3. Dear Elizabeth

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You know, I love to debate on Scripture. And it is exiting to face Christians with solid Bible knowledge. Yes, you are right.

Why should Paul acccept divisions inside the Church of Corinth?

To be very frank. Most of us would have branded this Church as some kind of a mad house, dusted our feet, and walked away. Paul did not. He sortered out the matters.

My point is that the Church in Corinth and the Church in Kerala in India, must/might have appeared very different from each other. In rituals, songs, dance, timings, arrangements, etc. No uniformed code of conduct.

What they had in common was faith in the salvation grace found in the death and ressurection of Jesus the Messiah. The stood united on Biblical truth. Eventhough their leaders probably never met physically, they were united in spirit and truth.

      4. Dear Elizebeth

        Shalom and love in Jesus.

The term “Lutheran” say something about what this person feel about core doctrines, being a reformed Christian, A Christian and not Catholic. Like this persons support for “Justification by faith, alone, in Jesus alone, separated from works”. This person is not a Baptist, because of his accept of infant baptism. Even though evangelical Lutherans do not believe there is salvation in the ritual of baptism.

I am a Christian. But if you need to know my doctrinal views at lage: If I call my self a Baptist you will immideately know a lot about me. Without asking dozen of questions.

  8. The Pope, Shirley McLaine and my next door neighbor all have something in common….the “god complex” My NDN thinks she is her own creator, her best friend is a clone, and her deceased mother talks to her . I rest my case, they are all self deceived, or just plain coo coo.

    1. WOW! Seeking signs as if God’s Word is not enough…. devil disguises himself as light just like he does with “mary”…

    2. Andrea, Azusa is not new, it’s just growing! The man who is head of this Lou Engle was a senior leader of IHOP, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Engle It’s huge! Who is involved? The southern Baptist church, Franklin Graham, Calvary Chapels, and many, many smaller ministries across the country. Also Ed Decker of Saints Alive. There are many involved and it’s frightening! They have a different gospel, and a lot of politicians are involved. This ministry brings people back to Rome!

  9. The denominations are against Scripture. Paul says “Is Christ divided”? and tells people not to argue over disputable matters. Best to just call yourselves Christians and keep your mouths shut as much as possible.

    1. Dear Edvard.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

      My reply:

You are like a spiritual baby. And now you also sound like a universial Catholic.

      1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

The first Christians did not even take Pauls words for granted, but cross cheeked them towards the scriptures.

      Acts 17:11
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

      Acts 17:2
Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

  10. Obviously they reasoned in an orderly manner but they did not start dividing up over it, they were all called Christians, Various names of churches were based on their location. Church of the Thessalonians, etc. Not church of the people who believe in fasting vs. the church who eats alot etc.

    1. Dear Elizebeth

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

It how can we all be for THE ONE TRUE GOD being divided?

      My reply:

      Divided?

      Divided from whom?

This is the main argument among Roman Catholics. Rome represent the only true Church, because the Protestants are “divided” into “thosands of different denomination”.

There is no uniformed Church. No particular shape of buildings, patterns, worship style, dress code, litturgy, mass, etc. This is a Roman Catholic lie.

The letters of Paul expains this very well. The Church of Corinth and Galatia were filled with people from different cultures, etnic background, colors, traditions, etc. Paul tried to sort out different matters with each Church, where what they did, or taugt contradicted the scriptures. Still there were freedom, to operate differently within the instructions of God.

Still they were united in Jesus. Accross nations and continents.

Because they believed in the power of His ressurection, and in the salvation grace of the cross at Calvary in Jeusalem. Our faith in Him (truth) makes us a Christian.

  11. Say the “Church” without adding anything to it. It’s uniform for the whole world, meaning those who believe in Christ.

It’s like you’re trying to tell us the same thing we’re saying, and tell us we’re wrong.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

It is possible to reason. A Muslim in Saudi Arabia, who suddently discover that Jesus in God. Not only a prophet.

      1. What must he do, to become a Christian?
      2. To which Church shall he belong?

      Please answer.

  12. 1 John 5:12 -13 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

What did John say he must do?

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

He just became a Christian and belongs to the Church of God who sees all and knows all, even the hearts of men.

      My reply:

      Oh, Realy?

If this person continues to worship in a mosque, celebrate Islamic fetivals, etc? No need to become a member of the body of Christ? No need for baptism?

  13. He became a member of the body of Christ when he Believed in Jesus. Keep in mind the “Body of Christ” is Christs body. He only just realized Jesus was the Son of God, what has he had time to do? But even so, Paul says all things are ok in and of themselves, those things are all external show and so long as he doesn’t believe in them they are nothing.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You simply do not know what you are talking about. As I have told you before: You need to search for a good evangelical Church, become a member of the body of Christ, and attend regular Bible studies.

  14. When God sent Peter to first baptize Gentiles, Peter realizing they already had the holy spirit said “who can deny them water”. Seeing that this person believes in Christ and is baptized in the spirit, who can deny him water? If anyone has some water maybe they should go baptize him, if not well it’s just external show at this point anyway.

  15. Good morning! (In this part of the world anyhow! 🙂 )
    Jesus said:
    John 3:3
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

When this re-birth occurred all of the sudden (for me) NO denomination made sense. We are to worship The Lord who brings us out of captivity in “spirit and truth”. It is very hard to find a place to simply worship The Lord without the denominations bringIng in “their” doctrine. The building and/or gathering of like minded people towards The Lord goes from being simplicity found in Jesus Christ to throwing in every wind of man made doctrine. To running the people down with activities. NO REST IN JESUS. DO! DO! DO!
In the wilderness, when the people were led out of captivity, the Lord set up the tabernacle to worship, give thanks and glorify Him. The church gathering has again become a “den of thieves”. It has stolen away the joy of The Lord to make it a “feel good” experience. To teach philosophy. Bring the world in their front doors instead of taking The Lord out into the world. The books and coffee shops going on in those buildings are there to make people “feel welcome” feel comfy. Our hearts can not be changed like that. Faith is a feeling! It is FAITH. We need to let the Holy Spirit convict us! The people grow stagnant and end up on anti depressants 😦

    1. Dear Eizabeth

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Let me try another way of explaining, why there is a need for different kinds of fellowships. Based on doctrinal differences.

In India, females from a Hindu bacground, find it odd when women pray to Jesus without covering their hair.

Do you cover your hair when you pray?

    1. Edward,
Don’t like coffee? Don’t know if you saw that I meant to say FAITH IS NOT A FEELING 😦 DIDN’T PROOFREAD 😦

  16. Anyone who would make an issue out of covering their hair does not have the Son. Anyone who does not love their brother or sister breaks Gods command. So there is no need to make divisions over petty differences. Elizabeth would be right to leave any fellowship that did.

1 John 4:21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Yes, you have the right to have an opinion. But Paul the Apostle seems to disagree with you. Since Paul made it an issue. Will you claim that Paul did not have the Son?

  17. Paul was teaching. Did he make a division because of it? Did he say to have no fellowship with any woman with short hair?

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You seems to be a big man, dear brother. But neither do you attend Church, nor Bible studies.

You seems to not know neither the scriptures, nor the power of God. Please explain to me what Paul says about women who pray without covering their hair.

  18. I think you want everything written in stone. That was possible with the law but when grace is involved that’s not possible.

  19. Paul says long hair is their covering. Women should not cover their hair since long hair is the covering for their head.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Again, you should rather quote scriptures, and not only write your opinions. Please explain to me, if Paul has the Son, since he writes stuff like this:

      1 Corinthians 11:13-16

Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice – nor do the churches of God.

  20. The hair is the covering. If she has long hair her head is covered. Notice that he says “judge for yourselves” and that a problem only arises if someone wants to be “contentious” about it. So if someone tried to teach something else, such as covering their hair, they would be discredited. If they had short hair and kept their mouth shut there would be no problem. No need to make a division for the cross looking hindu women. Paul is preaching universalism and tolerance. Yes Paul has the Son.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Paul writes: “we have no other practice – nor do the churches of God”.

So there seems to be others, like you, who think differently. Who also needs to be included in the term “Churhes of God”, I presume?.

If you were the only female in the congregation, not following the instructions of Paul. Not only would you look like a clown. Every person paying attention to you, and questioning your rebellion…

Should this woman not be permitted to pray?

We have Pauls word for this woman, if praying, “dishonoring her head”….No woman would like to do that….Should Paul change this instrcution because of this sigle female?…. See, suddently there would be two different Churches in the same location, with different, etc, etc, etc….Just like there are different Churches today…

  21. He said “IF anyone wants to be contentious about it” “we have no other practice”. Paul wrote scripture and tells people not to add to or change any of it. But nobody does everything Paul said to do. There would be no church at all if everyone had to do everything Paul said to do. Anyone who had a problem with her for not doing something Paul said to do would be a hypocrite.

    1. Dear Edward.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I know you are able to understand. If you try. Let me take another exmple. Please explain to me if Paul has the Son, after writing somthing like this:

      1 Corinthians 14:34
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

  22. 1 Corinthians 11-1-11. Some notes: In verse 3, it says, “Christ is the head of every man, the man is the head of the woman, God is the head of Christ.” In verse 11 it says, “In The Lord” meaning that the husband and wife are born again Christians. This reminds me of Jewish midrash in which Scripture uses things in nature to teach spiritual truths. So, are not these verses reminding us that “in Christ” our headship is Jesus, He is God. The men are head of the church of God, they are the teachers & deacons, woman have not been chosen for those roles in the church. So head covering must mean something more than ones hair or hat. Woman are to submit to their husbands, and the men are to submit to Christ. This teaches “obedience” to God and his word, and humility in the given roles we have in church. Woman are not forbidden to prophesy or pray but as I understand it, her husband must be present. If a woman has no husband then, does that mean she does not have a “head covering” spiritually speaking? In those days, J. Vernon Mcgee says that of 1 Corinthians 11:6. “If a woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.” “This had a peculiar and particular application to Corinth. The unveiled woman in Corinth was a prostitute. Many of them had their heads shaved. The vestal virgins in the temple of Aphrodite who were really prostitutes had their heads shaved. The women who had their heads uncovered were the prostitutes. Apparently some of the women in the church at Corinth were saying, “All things are lawful for me, therefore, I won’t cover my head.” Paul says this should not be done because the veil is a mark of subjection, not to man, but to God.” Seems to me the women who refused were be rebels! All the women had to wait to do is for their hair to grow. Again, this is about submission! Blessings.

    1. Dear Nannette

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I might agree on almost everything in your last comment. It was lomg. But it prove my point, Why there is a need for different congregations. When likeminded congregations form a group, or what we also call a family, we call them a denomination. Baptists enjoy the company of other baptists, and so one. When likeminded people work togehter, there are less arguments and divisions. This is simple logic, and should be easy to understand.

    2. Dear nannette

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Yes, submission is the key word. Paul did not want disturbance in the Church. In a Jewish context, no one would have objected to the instrcutiom of covering their head. Just look at the Orthodx Jewish females today. All of them pray with their head covered. A daughter ask for the blessing of her father, a wife from her husband.

If you try to plant a Church in Los Angeles today, usimg the same instruction, you would face an uphill task. Again. It seems to be very usefull to have different denominations.

  23. 1 cor 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

14:34 It is a translation error since it should read wives not women, since how would a single woman go ask her husband as the scripture commands? Name me one church in the world where all wives are silent, then tell me which fellowship I should go join up with.

    1. Dear Edward.

May be its not wise that we are in the same congregation, since its seems we would end up in a lot of arguments?

    1. Edward, seems to me you are pushing to far. Let it go! Your not listening so what is the point? Not all churches are the same. This hair thing is not important. Like Ivar said, it is about submission to one another. If you go to a church and all the woman’s hair is not covered, so you won’t go there because you think they are sinning? You are the one in the wrong. Paul clearly said “But if any man seem to be contentious, we have NO SUCH CUSTOM, neither the churches of God. Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together no for the better but for the worse. For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it” 1 Cor. 11:16-18. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.” Go on reading it does not get any better, read through verses 22. If I was in with you all, I would not wear a head covering. If I had a believing husband and was in church he would be my head covering. If you judged me for not wearing a head covering that would be wrong because there is no such custom said Paul in verse 16. Get it?

  24. Paul had no praise for the divisions Nannett. He begins with this

1 cor 11:17 In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.

1 cor 11:18 In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.

Paul has no praise for divisions.

  25. Edward, I was talking about the spiritual, not physical. Did you not read it? We are talking about who the “HEAD” is. Not a physical head, but spiritual. “But I would have you know, that the HEAD of every man is CHRIST; and the HEAD of the woman is the MAN; and the HEAD of CHRIST IS GOD.” 1 Cor. 11:3. = SUBMISSION. The Church is the glory of JESUS!!! See verse 9. Back to spiritual. “Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.” Who is the woman? Answer: The church. In scripture the church is described as a woman. Who is the head of the women? Answer: The man = Christ.

    1. Dear Nannette.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Thanks for ministering on News That Matters. People who have not become a part of the body of Christ, can obviously not understand what this is all about. It is not possible to in full explain, it has to be experienced.

I understand that it can be very diffciult to find a fellowship, who honors the body of Christ. Many people are frustarated by their experience of pastordriven Churches, one man leaderships, no acknowledgement of the gifts of the spirit, etc. But there will always be spirit filled Christians around you. Pray to be connected, seek and have fellowship with them.

      1. Ivar, thank you, I do have a Bible study in my home every week. We have invited other ladies to come but they are too busy shopping, etc. There are 3 Baptist Churches I visited in my area. The first I left because the pastor invited open Free Masons in, and has been there now for years. The 2nd, the pastor plagiarized ‘all’ his sermons from on line and did not give credit to the author (where is the gift of the spirit there? Besides his stealing) the 3rd is openly united with the Seventh Day Adventists. Then we have the Assembly’s of God who have prophetesses and listen to woman preacher. We read through the Bible, the word is Jesus (John 1:1), and watch sermons that we trust from on line, and pray for people. May the Lord be with you!

      2. Dear Nannette

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I must give you credit for doing your best to find a local fellowship who honor the body of Christ. If you have a house Church and a Bible study group, your life as a Christian will not dry up. Still try to arrange for some kind of accountablity, overseers, eldership system, with a few other house churches in the area.

  26. “Christ is the head of every man”, but you said we must submit to each other. So we would be divided if we submit to each other because we would have many heads, but if we all submit to Christ we are unified having one head. Like the similitude of a wife submitting to her husband, she has only one head and they are one. Like the similitude of Christ having one head which is God the Father.

    1. Edward, very nice! “BEHOLD, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing even LIFE FOR EVERMORE.” Psalm 133:1-3 Amen!

  27. Iwar, you are right about that. I don’t know of any except one that is Seventh Day Adventist house church. Our town is Seventh Day Adventist with school and hospital they have their octopus arms in every church just about. My Catholic husband (for I became a believer after marriage) would not let me drive farther without grief. So, God knows. The lady I study with, her husband is Catholic too (she became a believer after marriage also). We are mindful of 1 Peter 3:1-6. Blessings!

    1. I totally understand what you are saying! I was saved out of Catholicism after marriage and have been blessed to have my husband come out of “her” a couple of years later! We too can not find a sound church that throws all kinds of different gospels. The pastors think what THEY are “doing” is just fine 😦 I am sure they feel that way because their. Umbels go up and their buildings get bigger as they progressively become a “den of thieves” We read and study at home with our children. That being said if you lived around me I would attend your home Bible Study.

      1. Elizabeth, I wish you did, it would be wonderful. How wonderful that your husband became a believer!!! Mine thinks I have gone off the deep end! Heaven is what I’m looking forward to. My friend was at a restaurant with some friends. The ladies asked her if she could go anywhere, where would she like to go and she said, Heaven! The ladies ignored her after that, and were in shock. I empathize with you Elizabeth, we are in the great falling away 2 Thess. 2:3. Antichrist has got his one world church in the making and they will worship him. Blessings!

  28. My HUSBND thought I did at first, too 😉 BUT ALL GLORY TO GOD!
My mother in law finally asked me after a couple of years why I left Catholicism when I started to tell her how God’s Holy Spirit convicted me of “Mary” worship the subject was changed very a quickly so unfortunately she missed out on the rest of the testimony The Lord gave me so she too could know the truth of John 14:6!!! They always thought it was because of a particular priest that no one liked-EXCEPT MY HUSBAND A ND I! When I asked this priest why we worshipped Mary when I couldn’t find it to be true Biblically he was mad at me! I received the same answer as I has received from a few parishioners (only the poor man yelled at me) : ” that is just what we do.”
Well that was not a good enough answer for me and I continued to hang out
In Catholicism with that burning question laying heavy on my heart.
I prayed for an answer. As I was going to pick up our twins ( identical with down Syndrome by the way ❤ ) I RECEIVED MY ANSWER! On the radio! I was flipping through stations looking for some worldly music when all of a sudden I hear a discussion going on about catholicism and YEP! MARY WORSHIP!
And right them and there The Lord answered my sincere prayer:
    JOHN 14:6!!!
That Sunday I let one of sons go to CCD. He came home with a paper. He said mom, we have to learn this. I looked at the paper and my stomach sank. YEP! The rosary!! I looked at my husband and is said, If you would like to continue practicing Catholicism that is your choice. Our children our done. "
It was a difficult road for awhile BUT The Lord saw us through and my husband started seeing things that I had said the more he went.
Hang in there Nanette stay true to The Lord our God and things will work out! Bless you for your continued love for The Lord as you KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
I have lots of testimonies even one on how The Lord saved me from suicide when I didn't even think He knew who I was or even if He existed! The Lord answers A sincere heart He heals the broken hearted! How were you brought out???

  29. Elizabeth, I was raised by a single mother with 2 sisters, all different dads. My mother put me in seventh day Adventist school, even a live academy. My mother had a dog named “Zues”. I used to say, “who is Ellen G. White that I should listen to her.” I was rebellious to them. I met my Catholic husband 37 years ago and did not know about them other than I did not like them either. Especially there mumo jumo rependitave repeat after me in Latin stuff, and kneel up, then down, then up, then down. I went through years thinking I was going to heaven. One day I met a friend who owned a bar where my husband always went. I thought if I want to see my husband I have to go to. Anyway, the bar owner and her husband split, she was Catholic and became born again. He husband and her 3 children have nothing to do with her. I ran into her one day and she witnessed to me, she told me to read my Bible. So I started reading in John 3. After reading John 3:3 more than once, for the LORD convicted me, I asked Him to help me be born again. Since that day He made me hungry for His Word, and He is with Me. I’m so thankful that Jesus died for Me. It’s so hard to understand that we being so dead in our sins, with our righteousness as filthy rags that God would love us so much that He would send His Son to die for Me and for you. It’ such a wonderful gift of mercy! The Lord sent me my friend who I met in the grocery store and we have been studying together ever since. We have grown a lot. We submit to each other, and to the LORD who is our head. Blessings!

      1. Dear Nannette and Elizabeth

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Thanks for sharing inner thoughts, your backgrounds and ups and downs in your life with the Messiah. I am blessed thay my two sisters are ministering to each other and all the readers of this blog. I have made a point, that there are no uniformed code for a Christian fellowship or congregation. Neither is there a A-4 standard for the life of a Christian.

  30. Thank you Elizabeth and Ivar, you are both blessings to the church of God. What is said here, like in any church, if a person comes in they might glorify God, and be saved by His Grace, and the church might be edified! Blessings!!
