MANILA (AFP) – A blood-curdling scream echoes through the Roman Catholic chapel in Manila as Father Jose Francisco Syquia says a prayer of exorcism over a Satanic cult member believed to be possessed by the devil.
“It’s very painful,” the woman cries in an unearthly voice, her body contorting in an attempt to break free from the tight grasp of Syquia’s assistants. After a few minutes she falls silent, her limp body exhausted.
The case is among hundreds documented on video and kept by Syquia, who heads the Manila Archdiocese’s Office of Exorcism — the only one that exists in the Catholic nation of 94 million people.
“She would have levitated had she not been restrained,” Syquia said of the woman in the video, portions of which were shown to AFP during a rare interview at his office in the basement of a seminary in Manila.
Syquia believes he is in the frontline of the battle between good and evil on earth.
“There is a great dramatic increase of possessions right now,” said the 44-year-old priest. “More and more the demons are gaining a foothold into this society.”
While non-believers often joke about the devil, and demonic possessions are trivialized by Hollywood, Syquia insisted the torment suffered by those he had healed was real.
“I have seen scratches suddenly appearing on their skin, of inverted crosses on the forehead. These persons would be conscious at the time, and they tell me its like razor cutting from the inside of the skin,” he said.
Demons could manifest themselves in many ways and could enter the human soul through occult and New Age teachings that were becoming increasingly popular in the general community, Syquia said.

Demons are of satan and will continue to torment people until Christ comes.
I want to state it is not “Mary” whom the Catholic church believes in who can cast out demons. She was a sinner like us all.
It is Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins, rose, and comes very soon, who casts out demons.

The above Bible verse tells us exactly what we can do, believing in Jesus Christ Our Savior, only in Him. Believe in Him, Christ who comes soon, completely trusting in him, and everything over onto his hands.

I interested to learn thes kind of prayers.
Its not a prayer that rebuke’s demons.
It is believing in Jesus Christ through anything, and rebuking in his name. (All Glory goes to Christ.)
I find it interesting that the priest says he has seen inverted crosses appear on foreheads. I find that interesting. What’s so bad about that to a Catholic? Doesn’t the pope sit in a chair with an upside down cross? It’s just interesting to me that he places those inverted crosses with demons when the pope sits in a chair with the same thing.

From what I understand, the Pope has the inverted cross on the “chair of Peter” because Peter was crucified upside down.
I’m not defending Catholicism, mind you. Only telling you about the Peter thing.
Yes, I know it’s about the whole Peter supposedly being crucified upside down. Either way though, it makes me wonder. I’ve seen several pictures of crosses that people have with the upside down cross and some of those with the keys.

It makes me wonder too, especially since everyone knows satanists use upside down crosses in their sick rituals. You would think they would consider what most people think of when seeing an upside down cross.

The origin of this symbol comes from the Christian tradition that Simon Peter was crucified upside down, as told by Origen of Alexandria. The tradition first appears in the “Martyrdom of Peter”, a fragmented text found in, but likely predating, the apocryphal Acts of Peter, which was written no later than 200 A.D. It is believed that Peter requested this form of crucifixion as he felt he was unworthy to be crucified in the same manner that Christ died (upright). As such, some Catholics use this cross as a symbol of humility and unworthiness in comparison to Christ.
According to Roman Catholicism, the Pope is Peter’s successor as Bishop of Rome. Therefore the Papacy is often represented by symbols that are also used to represent Peter — one example being the Keys of Heaven, another the Petrine Cross. During Pope John Paul II’s visit to Israel, he sat on a chair with the Cross of Peter cut into the back.
Simply say it is how the inverted cross is used and the intention to understand evil or not!

You and the Pope are free to have your private opinions. But I have chosen to believe God. He says in the Bible that ALL men have sinned. That includes the Jewish mother of Jesus.
We can obviously not talk about the same person. One is a copy-cat, a fiction and a fraud.
Yes, Mary was a sinner. She was 100% human and therefore born with sin just as anyone else, she was simply chosen by God to bear his son by like you said immaculate conception, no one other than Jesus Christ himself is without sin. She like every one else needed the blood of Christ to be washed clean and needed forgiveness in order to have eternal life. This is why so many non denominational Christians have trouble with the way done Catholic churches idolize Mary, she was a blessed woman no doubt but no les human than anyone else, no les of a sinner and we are to pay and idolize one God Jesus Christ.
They’re not private, they have been publicly and dogmatically declared by the Church. Faith in God & the Church is far more vast than the pages of the Bible.

It is unfortunate that the majority of the public view the Catholic church as the one and only religion of Christ. There was a great reason why the Catholic church originally had their services in Latin and not in the common tongue. They were afraid of Luther because he went by what the Bible said, not the Pope. At least before he went crazy and on his Hitler-like beliefs.

Yes, it is unfortunate. Satan takes his two greatest works, Catholicism and Islam, very seriously. About one third of the world has been deceived by them, one billion Catholics and 1.3 billion Muslims. He doesn’t want anyone exposing either of his works.
Both of these cults have a history of persecuting Christians and Jews and they will probably join hand in hand, in the latter days, with other deceived ecumenical people.

I agree with johny. That is a load of crap. The Catholic Church is the church the true church of Christ. 1.2 billion catholics ( and that is just the present number not counting all who have come before) can’t be wrong. The people who bash the church are the people who are not intellectual enough to understand it.
