Emergency personnel confer in front of Lowes Home Improvement after it was hit by a tornado in Sanford, N.C., on Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — At least 47 people have died in three days of storms that ripped across the South and Midwest, NBC News reported on Sunday.

At least 24 were killed in North Carolina alone, NBC reported from Raleigh, where roofs were ripped off stores, trees were plucked out of the ground and “scores” of homes were damaged across the state.

Tens of thousands were without electricity after the furious system kicked up tornadoes, flash floods and hail as big as softballs.  Arkansas has seen 9 deaths since Thursday, Virginia 4, Alabama 7, Oklahoma 2 and Mississippi 1, according to NBC News.

Authorities in the Carolinas and Virginia warned the toll was likely to rise higher Sunday as searchers probed shattered homes and businesses.

The storms claimed its first lives Thursday night in Oklahoma, then roared through Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

My Comment:

Expect weather conditions to worsen across the world, as the coming of our Messiah and King Jesus Christ comes closer and closer. Jesus states these as signs, prior to his coming.

Luke 21:25

There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.

I do believe the people of this world are at the point of “perplexity”. 62 tornadoes reported in North Carolina were the most in almost 20 years.

Luke 21:11

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

But we who believe in Our King Jesus Christ have nothing to fear. Because he comes very soon!

Luke 21:26-28

Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
