Mike Bickle and the false gospel of works

“You are saved, but your life was wasted.”

Kansas city preacher Mike Bickle presents a different gospel, and a false Jesus.

This was a message from “Jesus” to Mike Bickle, director of IHOP with head quarter in Kansas City, US.

Mike Bickle, founder and director of IHOP-KC, on Wednesday gave a message about being consumed with zeal for the work of God.

He shared about a supernatural encounter he had in 1978 where he saw Jesus in a vision. Jesus said to him, “You are saved, but your life was wasted.” He asked in the experience if he could have a second chance, but the Spirit’s replied “it is appointed unto man to die once, then comes the judgment” from Hebrews 9:27.

He said when he came to he was kneeling on the floor, crying instead of being in his bed. He shared that the pain of regret he experienced in that vision is still vivid and is the greatest pain he ever felt in his life.

Bickle felt that God allowed him to feel deep sorrow and regret so that he would not live a life that would bring him regret on the last day. God also challenged him to not live with the low measure of dedication that is common in the Western church, or else Jesus will say on the last day that his life was saved but wasted.

“I understood that I have only one chance on the earth, like every one of us. We only have one opportunity and then we die and then the evaluation – the judgment means the evaluation,” said Bickle.

“The judgment isn’t always negative, but it means the truth about our life comes to light.”

The IHOP-KC founder said it is not important how big this conference is, how big the ministry grows, or who does or does not like him. The most important thing in his and the attendees’ lives is what is on Jesus’ mind on the day of judgment.

“In the Western church, there is a whole lot of us that walk around with the image of dedication but we are not obeying the word of God with all of our hearts,” he said.

Most people ask the wrong question – how little can I do and still remain in the kingdom of God. Instead, they should ask how far will God let them go in their faith.

“I have a number of fears, but the thing I fear the most is regret,” said Bickle. “I fear having regret on the last day more than any other thing. If I stand before Him and have regret it is the greatest tragedy a believer can have. We are not in the lake of fire, we are in the kingdom of God. But the pain of regret, knowing on that day how much He gave us and how little we responded to Him, and that though we are saved we were wasted.”

My comment:

Mike Bickle believe’s in semi-salvation by a “Jesus” who died on a cross. Because what took place on the cross is no perfect righteousness in front of God. A man still has to strife for a kind of undefined, self-righteousness to avoid getting the “wasted” mark on his life on Earth.

What Bickle is trying to teach us, is that judgment did not take place 2000 years ago, when Jesus died on the cross. There is another judgment a head of believers, where there will be an “evaluation” of mans work.

This is the kind of garbage and pollution that has entered into the body of Jesus, through the so-called Third Wave Movement.

Mike Bickle and the Pope in Rome preach a similar gospel. Both denying the power of the cross at Calvary. Life on Earth has to become an uncertain rally to please God with our good works. And only a Vatican ordained Bishop, or a Charismatic Bishops in Kansas city, will be able to tell where the red line is drawn. When the tag “wasted” will be removed, and the final “approval” will be gained, purchased or obtained.

This is a message of spiritual slavery, a message from the pit. Men like Bickle have not understood that Jesus also nailed the filthy rags of mans works to the cross. Matthew 7:21-23, display the face value of man’s self proclaimed works.

All readers: Please underline: “Man is saved by faith alone, in Jesus alone, separated from works”.

A Christian is something you are. Not a “something” you are going to achieve by works. Either you have understood this and  “are”, or you “are not”.  You have multiple chances to follow Jesus every day, by simply “being” and expose the truth.

A true Christian will not even take notice of the good works he automatically are doing, lead by the Holy Spirit. The left hand is not supposed to register what the right hand is doing.

Rome and Kansas city are both centers of “super revelations”, distribution of deceptions, and doctrines taught by demons.

  1. Ivar your research group should look into the crazy comments coming out of Rich Warren and his Saddleback Church

ECUMENICAL APOLOGETICS WEEKEND OF RICK WARREN

Now I see that God prefers to work through intermediaries–Mary and the saints . . . He wants us to pray through Mary and not only directly. (p. 154)

[Mary] may bring the churches together again and heal the tears in her Son’s visible body on earth, she, the very one who seems to divide Catholics from Protestants. The most distinctive Catholic doctrines, especially those concerning the Eucharist and Mary, may prove to be the most unifying and attracting ones. (p. 158)

Consecrate your life to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She is the one who will win this war. She is the one (as the Bible says) who triumphs over Satan. (p. 169 – parenthesis in original)

      1. Dear Gloria.

        You quoted me:

“Man is saved by faith alone, in Jesus alone, separated from works”.

This is the lesson from the Reformation. Nothing has changed for the last 500 years, in regards to this core doctrine of Biblical faith. This doctrine stand as the very barrier that will separate true Christianity from falsehood that is presented to us in various forms with multiple colors, in all kinds of media.

    1. Dear Richard.

      Shalom.

Thanks for this link, with valuable information.

Not many Evangelicals knows that Saddleback Church is a member of World Council of Churches (WCC), that is working hard to get us all back into full union with the Roman Catholic Church.

The WCC is also an “anti-Israel” racket, that has sided with Islam to bring an end to “oppressive Zionism”.

That Rick Warren and John Piper seems to be on the same team, does not surprise me at all. Pipers theology on Israel is as bad as the theology of the Nazis in Germany. Both of them has labeled “the Jews” as “enemies of God”.

Birds of the same feather, will unite and flock together.

      1. It is those that call themselves jews but are not that are the enemies of Christ, and the cross. It is them that Jesus said they would become his footstool and would bow down to Christians. Rev. chapter 2 and 3.
Jesus called them that. These are obviously unbelieving Jews.If unbelieving jews were that then I ask are they not that now. Jesus told the unbelieving Jews in John chap 8 that their father was not Abraham but the devil was. He told them that they did the things their father the devil did.
Jesus said that he (the devil was a liar and a murderer from the beginning) They were this way because of blindness. Consider Galatians chapter 2:15 Paul while writing to Jews in Galatia said this.We who are Jews by birth and not ‘gentile sinners’know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. Consider this; What birth is he refering too. If it is natural birth into Judaism which they were naturally born into then they would only know that justification could only come through sacrifices and obedience to the law. So it can’t mean natural birth. The birth he is referring to is spiritual birth. Like the one Jesus spoke of to Nicodemus and the one which paul speaks of in his letter to Titus 3:5 It is the washing of rebirth. This is when circumcision of the heart takes place.Romans 2:28-29. A man is not a jew if he is only one outwardly. No a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly, and circumcision is circumcision of the heart by the spirit. Paul says that because of rebirth they are jews. Without it what is one left to be? A gentile sinner. God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he mave have mercy on them all. Romans11:32 So then all men are sinners and if not born again, ‘gentile sinners’ Things to consider when searching for the truth

    1. Dear Richard.

      Shalom.

Nugget news are great. A place all my readers should visit, to get an daily overview…

  2. Ivar you are right about nugget net review its one site
i check daily, But i need some help on this ECUMENICAL
stuff, too me this stuff sounds like trash and what we
need is that old rugged cross gospel. So i was wondering
if you could give me a basic 101 lesson in this false
trash that we see in these Last Days.

    1. Dear Joe.

      Shalom.

This is my advice to the Ecumenical movement.

Jesus is the most ECUMENICAL man that ever walked on Earth. He, and only He, is able to save whoever comes to Him. Only He is the ECUMENICAL road to Heaven. Krishna, Buddha and Muhammad has no ecumenical powers.

    1. Putyhwh1st,

Are you saying you do not believe in the Holy Spirit?

      John 14:16-17
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever– the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

  3. Yeah I think the guy is confused but not all bad. It’s like he is taking the greatest commandment “love thy God with all they heart and all thy mind” to a too literal sense. If the person is a temple of God and the spirit of God dwells inside of him, loving the spirit of God which dwells inside of you with all your heart and mind is continual prayer. But he sets up missionaries with people who pray outwardly continually which is sort of a mockery. But deeds do have a place with faith. The second greatest commandment is “love thy neighbor as thyself” This is where deeds come in because people are needful of outward expressions from one another. Such as where he says “what you have done to the least of my people you have done unto me”…I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you gave me food, I was in prison and you visited me. Also it says “what you have not done unto the least of my people, you have not done unto me”.

  4. “It is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.” Rom. 2:13 Maybe Bickle is not as far off base as you are. Not that Bickle isn’t off base too. Could be the situation of the pot calling the kettle black.

    1. Dear Theodore A.Jones.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Man can only be saved by grace, alone. Non of us can come with a single piece of “good works”, that fits into the Law, and makes us worthy of salvation.

You might quote Rom :2:13. But to quote one Bible verse, and say: Here it is, is a dangerous deception. Paul’s teaching on the topic of the Law tells a different story.

      Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

      And verse 21 and 23:

But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Since salvation through grace now is available, shall we then sit on our but, and do nothing?

Absolutely not. But we do not do good works to GET saved. Such works will automatically surface, pre-planned works, that will display our love for Jesus. The spirit within us honor Him because we ARE saved.

  5. “For when there is a change of the priesthood, there MUST also be a change of the law.” Heb. 7:12 Paul refers to this change as an addition to the law in Rom. 5:20.
No matter what you think no person is going to ride into heaven on the back of the sin of any man’s murder caused by bloodshed. Neither you nor Bickle.

    1. Dear Theodore.

      Shalom.

I do not understand what you are trying to tell me.

Jesus did not come to change the law, but to fulfill the law.

  6. Fulfill means complete, finish or round off. Regarding that Jesus’ cannot ever be crucified again neither can there ever be any modification of the law a second time. You are misunderstanding what the term grace actually is. The term “righteousness from God apart from law” the word “law” is only referring to the written code delivered through Moses at Sinai. No observance of this code will allow the justification or repeal of the law’s penalty. Which is why a law has been added to this code by Jesus’ crucifixion as an act of righteousness/grace by God. Therefore your salvation is predicated upon the faith of confessing directly to God that you are sorry Jesus’ life was lost by bloodshed. If not you will disobey a law that has been added which has no possibility of being forgiven. See Rom. 5:20, “The law was added so that the trespass (of Jesus’ crucifixion, the sin of murder caused by bloodshed) might increase.” to the level of unilaterally accountability. No person, no matter what he thinks, is going to get a pass into heaven by murdering God’s only begotten son.

    1. Theodore A. Jones,

It seems your explanation is off when you start talking about “which is why a law has been added to this code by Jesus’ crucifixion…”
And where do you find in the Bible that salvation is “predicated upon the faith of confessing directly to God that you are sorry Jesus’ life was lost by bloodshed”?

The law being added means the whole law of the Old Testament, not a new law is added.

Let’s not go beyond what is written (1 Cor. 4:6), nor add or subtract to God’s Word (Deut. 4:2).

      I hope this helps.
~So that you may know Him better~

  7. As I said and Paul too, for that matter, “THE (a) law was ADDED so that THE (a) TRESPASS might INCREASE.” Perhaps you are forgetting that the gate that you MUST use to get into God’s kingdom is something that is very small and narrow and aren’t you also forgetting that it is only a very few that find it? The majority erroneously thinks Jesus died in their place. So then is it a wisenheimer idea to be in the majority?

    1. Theodore A. Jones,
You pervert scripture. “The law” refers to God’s Law, the laws which were given to Moses. Such an instance that suggests Jesus in some made a new law simply does not exist in scripture. Furthermore, Jesus did die in our place; his blood paid for the atonement of our sin. I seek not to be in the majority, but in God’s Word.

      Romans 5:9-11

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  8. “For when there is a change of the priesthood, there MUST also be a change of the law.” Heb. 7:12
“The law will go out from Me; my (Way of) justice will become a light to all the nations.” Isa. 51:4
    Wanna make another try?

    1. Theodore A. Jones,

A “change” in the law is different than what you said previously…you said a law was “added.”

I think you misunderstand what Paul said in Romans 5:20 about the law being added. Paul is talking about the whole law being added; and Hebrews 7:12 is talking about a “change” in the law.

Steven gave an excellent scripture to show that Jesus died for us. Have you reconsidered your belief that Jesus didn’t die in our place?

I’m not sure why you bring up at this time about the gate being narrow. How does that fit in this discussion?

      God bless.

  9. The small narrow gate that you must use or not escape from the penalty of eternal death is only located by a few people, according to Jesus. What! do you think he is wrong about this fact? What Paul is attempting to explain is that a law has been added to the law after Jesus’ crucifixion. Heb. 7:12 signifies when and where this law was added. There is nothing in the previous written code that allows for the resolution of the capital offense of murder caused by bloodshed. So then for the crucifixion of Jesus to be of any benefit to an individual a law had to be added. This change of the law after Jesus crucifixion raises/increased the murder of Jesus to the level of unilateral accountability. Regard that Paul states that where there is no law a sin is not accountable which is to say that a resolution of the offense is impossible. Therefore the small narrow gate that MUST be used individually to escape from the penalty of eternal death is confessing directly to God that you are sorry that Jesus’ life was lost by bloodshed when he was crucified and be baptized into this Way of resolution. However if you refuse then you disobey a law, i.e. willfully commit a sin, that does not nor will ever have any possibility of a resolution.
No. I will not for any reason ever consider or reconsider that the purpose for Jesus’ crucifixion is other than a sin that is unilaterally accountable by a modification of the law of God. For even Jesus says that the issue of guilt in regard to sin still remains as the outstanding issue to be resolved after his crucifixion. See Jn. 16:8, and I am certain you will have no better sense than to take exception to his statement of fact also.

  10. I have more respect for Mike Bickle now, and less respect for judgmenters like the guy that wrote that article. Seriously, have you not read the Bible? If you have two coats and you know of someone that does not have a coat you are required to give that second coat away. If you do not, your faith is worthless and cannot save you from the flames of hell. There are a lot of people like you in hell.

  11. It’s unfortunate that you lack the ability to listen to Mike Bickle’s message. His end time theology is undoubtedly suspect, but that’s another story, in this case he doesn’t deny we are saved by faith, he’s never denied that. Works are important as the Bible makes clear, and Paul himself wanted to run for the prize, not sitting around writing blogs patting themselves on the back.

  12. You’re totally missing the point. Bickle would readily agree that God loves His people regardless of how much or how little they do for Him. For each individual the focus is not He NEEDS us but that He WANTS us. But you know, if you’ve read the new testament, from front to back it’s full of instruction for us to live lives differently from the world. There is so much written that explicitly shows that it was NOT God’s plan to save us so we can just sit back and live our lives to please ourselves until we “get to Heaven”.

Honestly, everything you show Bickle talking about here looks EXACTLY LIKE 1 CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 3. Have you ever read that?

  13. Ivar,

I’m grateful that you faithfully hold up the banner of the truth of God’s word in an age where truth is scarce and belittled by many.

I lived in the Midwest a few years ago and I actually went to a few IHOP services prior to moving from that region. The bible states in Matthew 7: 15-20 that we will know people by the fruit they bear. The pope may say that he believes in Jesus as the only way to salvation, but according to the bible, the bitter fruit of his life states otherwise. The pope’s message changes depending on who he is addressing at any given moment. And his own doctrine and practices are clearly not biblically based. The wicked Roman Empire has a life line through Catholicism. And as for Mr. Bickle, the same text applies. His services are a platform where false doctrine prevails, and false prophets rule. Just as satan used the bible and/or God’s word out of context to lead many astray, the pope and Mr. Bickle are leading many astray with devilish doctrine, the perverting of God”s word, and the rampant engagement with seducing spirits. I seen so many young impressionable adults the few times I went to the IHOP services. A few years after I moved from the Midwest, I stumbled across the story of Bethany Deaton, who was either murdered , or committed suicide at IHOP due to a sub-cult that emerged out of the larger cult that is IHOP. I pray that the scales fall from the eyes of the many who are following the wide path of destruction so they can hear and be liberated by the truth of God’s word.

    Arnett

    1. Dear Arnett

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Yes, you are right. The Spirit of Catholicism is a chameleon spirit. It changes colors, after what kind of environment it moves into. That is why the gifts to test the spirits is a must for all Churches survival. In many protestant Churches, gifts of the spirit are rejected.

The second issue is to be faithful to the Scriptures. IHOP i not. It is a part of the signs and wonders movement, and built on false prophecies. If Mike Bickle and his flock do not repent, they will join the beast and the false prophets, into the lake of fire.
