Threaten by terror tunnels, Egypt will ultimately expand the Gaza-buffer zone to between 1,500 and 2,000 meters.
The current zone is being expanded from 500 meters to a kilometer, which means the destruction of some 1,200 homes in Egyptian Rafah.
However, The Times of Israel has learned, there will be additional stages, which will ultimately expand the buffer zone to between 1,500 and 2,000 meters. The plan will result in the eviction of hundreds of families from the area, initially to El-Arish and in the future to New Rafah, a suburb of sorts that is to be built next to the current Rafah, and New Ismailiya, which will be built near the existing city on the banks of the Suez Canal.
These buffer zones are meant to help the Egyptian military in its fight against the fundamentalist Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis group, which has recently joined the Islamic State, at least symbolically.

The Western media is involved in the electronic intifada against Israel. This “Holy war” is based on telling a lie so many times, that people are not able to find the truth.
The Jewish state is portrayed as an “occupier of Gaza”, despite Israel sending thousands of tons of supplies into Gaza every day. And not a single Jew living inside Gaza.
Where did the western media go wrong?
The Western media hailed the fascist Muslim Brotherhood, when they took control of Cairo. The Media portrayed the Jihad movement as a part of an “Arabian spring”. One of the first thing the radical Islamist did, was to open the borders between Egypt and Gaza. Advanced missiles that could hit every city in Israel was freely transported into Iranian-Hamas sponsored rocket launchers.
Israel had to pay a price for this during the last rcoket assult from Gaza.
The new military regime in Egypt brought an end to the pro-Jihad parties in Theran, Doah, London and Paris.
Today the border between Egypt and Gaza is under heavy restrictions, and hardly any supplies are permitted into Gaza. Still the Western media do not write about an “Egyptian occupation” of Gaza.
Now the Egyptian military will create a two kilometer wide buffer zone at the border, free of all buildings. If Israel had done the same, the media would again portrayed Israel as a racist apartheid state, and given the Hamas some extra millage.
Why do Egypt blow up all these houses close to the border?
Simply. To avoid the tunnel-digging Hamas, to secretly pop up in the basement, of every Jihad-friendly uncle. To dig two kilometers is very costly and tiering. And when you eventually have to surface in the middle of the desert, you will immideately get your Hamas-head blown off.
Such is the nature of evil. May Jesus the Messiah have mercy on all deceived souls. Amen.
