The offers were made in 2008, in the wake of the Annapolis conference, and were privately hailed by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat as giving Israel “the biggest Yerushalayim [the Hebrew name for Jerusalem] in history.”

I am always puzzled by people who claim to know exactly when Biblical prophecies will take place. Like the return of Jesus. Another issues is the length of the rule of the last anti-Christ.
The Bible speaks very plainly about something that is going to last for a very particular period. Like the exile in Babylon.

Marilyn get your facts straight, The Catholic Church has NEVER claimed that there is a seven year tribulation in the Bible or in it’s Cannon teaching. John Nelson Darby of the Plymouth Brethren Church in England, created the “tribulation ” doctrine. After which the new doctrine spread to the United States. During the middle and latter nineteenth century, it received its biggest boost from Cyrus Scofield, who incorporated it into the notes of his Scofield Reference Bible published in 1909. It is solely a Protestant invention.
The Catholic church certainly does believe in a tribulation take a look at Yvves DuPont’s book “Catholic Prophecy The Coming Chastisement.” The thing that is more astounding is even Jesuits have acknowledged that Rome is the great harlot who rides the beast in Revelation 17. Whether its 3 1/2 years or 7 is up for debate but the fact there is a tribulation is undisputed by Christians and Romanists. Many people like myself believe on pre-trib rapture. There are others who believe in mid rapture. But the bible does not say this is a must to get saved.

Personally this will be very difficult for Saeb Erekat who will be in focus of all grieving parties and become a scapegoat for their anger. But the sad reality is that one city cannot have never have two owners, in either way, something needs to give away in order to reconcile the two hostile parties. Keep in your prayers that the peace should reign in Palestine and a lasting peace settlement is found.

I am Jewish and as much as I don’t like the fact that the Temple Mount is under muslim control, I couldn’t find anything in the Ha’Aretz article which says the Pope was offered joint control. In fact it does not even mention the Pope. Where are you getting your information from? Why have you quoted H’Aretz as a source?

Was Jesus three days and three nights in the grave, as He said in Matthew 12:40?
Can you figure three days and three nights between sunset “Good Friday” and sunrise Easter Sunday? We have never published an article that stirred more comment and enthusiastic endorsement than this article.
It is commonly supposed, today, Jesus was crucified on FRIDAY, and that the resurrection occurred about sunrise on Easter Sunday morning.
It would seem that no one, until recently, ever thought to question or to PROVE this “Good-Friday-Easter” tradition. Yet the Bible tells us to PROVE all things. And you will be literally astounded by this proof.
For PROOF there is but one dependable authority; a sole historical record — the Bible.
Tradition No Evidence
There were no eye-witnesses to the resurrection. Even so-called “apostolic fathers” had no source of information save that record which is today available to us. Tradition, then, must be dismissed.
What are the recorded facts?
The doubting Pharisees were asking Jesus for a SIGN– a supernatural evidence — in proof of His Messiahship.
Jesus answered: “An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man be THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the heart of the earth.” (Matt. 12:38-40). Now consider, please, the tremendous import — the overwhelming significance — of Jesus’ statements!
He expressly declared that the ONLY SIGN He would give to prove He was the Messiah was that He should be just THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS in the rock-hewn sepulchre in “the heart of the earth.”

The truth is that “Good Friday” is a Vatican invented forgery of the truth. Anyone who can count backwards three days and three nights from Sunday morning, will end up on a Thursday. While Resurrection day was early morning on the first day of the week (after the Sabbath, that ends 6.pm on Saturday night), the other religious stuff is nothing but: religious stuff, not based on the truth.

Since Jesus was supposed to spend three nights in the grave, we can all count.

The first day of the Week in the Jewish calender, is our pagan Sunday. This is the moment we know for sure, Jesus was no longer in the grave. The exact moment when he left the grave, the Bible is silent. But to not brake the Law and the prophets, He had to spend three days and three nights (A full day and night was (and is) 24 hours also on the Jewish calender).
So everyone who can count backwards, can know for sure that the Pope is a liar. Jesus could not have been crucified on a Friday, just to please the Vatican. 2+2 can never become 3+3.

So let us celebrate the resurrection every day. And leave the religious rituals to people who simply do not want to obey the truth.
I believe that Jesus died on Thursday evening, according to our way of calculating a day’s night, but in Hebrew time Thursday evening is the beginning of Friday.
Even though Jesus died on the beginning of a Hebrew Friday, it is our Thursday evening, thus still making the Catholic’s tradition of Good Friday incorrect.
As for when Jesus rose, our calculation of an early Sunday morning and the Hebrew calculation of an early Sunday morning is the same, and that is the first day of the week, which is Sunday.
Luke 24:1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
Matthew 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
Now notice carefully this fact: In order to be three days and three nights — 72 hours — in the tomb, our Lord had to be resurrected at exactly THE SAME TIME OF DAY that His body was buried in the tomb!
Jesus cried on the cross soon after “the ninth hour” or three o’clock in the afternoon. (Matt. 27:46-50; Mark 15:34-37; Luke 23:44-46).
The crucifixion day was called “the preparation,” or day before “the sabbath.” (Matt. 27:62; Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:14). This day ended at sunset, according to Bible reckoning (Lev. 23:32).
Yet Jesus was buried before this same day ended — before sunset. (Matt. 27:57; Luke 23:52-54). John adds, “There laid they Jesus, therefore, because of the Jews’ preparation day.” According to the laws observed by the Jews all dead bodies must be buried before the beginning of a Sabbath or feast day. Hence Jesus was buried BEFORE SUNSET on the same day He died. He died shortly after 3 p.m
If Jesus rose at any other time of day, He could not have been three days and three nights in His grave. If He rose at any other time of day, He failed to prove, by the only sign He gave that He was the true Messiah, the Son of the living Creator!

Either He rose near the END of a day near sunset, or else He is not the Christ! He staked His claim on that one and only sign!
When the women arrived, the tomb was already OPEN! At that time Sunday morning while it was yet dark — JESUS WAS NOT THERE! Notice how the angel says “HE IS NOT HERE, BUT IS RISEN!” See Mark 16:6; Luke 24:3; John 20:2; Matt. 28:5-6.
Jesus was ALREADY RISEN at sunrise Sunday morning! Of course He was. He rose from the grave IN THE LATE AFTERNOON, near SUNSET!
And since we know the resurrection was just shortly prior to that Sunday morning, and that it occurred in the late afternoon of the day, we now may know THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST OCCURRED LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
So a time-honored tradition must be shattered! Let us praise God for His TRUTH which has been preserved through the dark ages, so that the true light may now shine forth, if our hearts and minds are still willing to receive it! Praise His name! Would you mind studying this more with me? The scripture about the ninth hour is very important, which I did not remember when trying to figure this. Most believe that the ninth hour would be around 3:00 in the afternoon. Do you agree with that? Please make it clearer, when do you think that Jesus died? Are you saying he died Friday afternoon around 3pm? That would still be the day of preparation, and still the day before the Sabbath, since Sabbath begins Friday at sundown. On the other hand, are you saying that Jesus died Thursday afternoon?
The Bible says that the third day was on the first day of the week, that would be Sunday. So how do you say that Jesus died on a Sabbath? Sabbath ends Saturday at sundown, agree?

Yes I do agree that the ninth hour is around 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
to your Question, “when do you think that Jesus died?”, I believe He died shortly after 3:00 Pm.
If He died around 3 Pm we must count from when he died 3:00 Pm. If we count 3 days and 3 nights from that time he would have risen at 3:00 Pm Also 3 days later. but the Angel said “He is risen”,in the morning, thus that meant he was resurrected 3:00 Pm the Day before(because it wasn’t 3 pm YET). He would have risen on Saturday a little past The ninth Hour(3 PM)(Matt 27:50;Mark 15:37;Luke 24:44-46)
and Now COUNT 3 days and 3 nights, as the Hebrew days are, back and it will land on Wednesday after noon around 3:00 Pm. Thursday was the First day of unleavened bread(but the Jews back then Lump the feast of Unleavened Bread and Passover together and Call it Passover)They had their Preparation day on Wednesday because they had to prepare for the Holy day which was on Thursday. They had to bury Him BEFORE the Holy Day. Because if they did they would break it.

Thank you for giving me more information. I will check out the links. Please consider though, the scripture that tells us that the day of preparation is the day before the Sabbath, see Mark 15:42-43.
42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.
As for Jesus rising on the Sabbath, please consider the following scriptures from Luke 24:

We see from verse 1 that the day is the first day of the week, which is Sunday, do you agree? Now read farther to verse 19-21:
“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. 20 The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; 21 but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.
Did you see that in verse 21 what they said to Jesus about that day being the “third day” since all took place? That third day is Sunday, the first day of the week. Therefore, do you think that shows us that Jesus did not rise on the Sabbath, but on Sunday?
The Sabbath is not sunday! All days of the week have numbers except Shabbat, the seventh Day. Shabbat and the number seven have the same root in Hebrew.
There is no way possible for the Sabbath to change, ever! Heaven and earth are still here last time I looked out the window.
The Messiah died on Day 4 in the evening. He was placed in the tomb just before sunset. Exactly 3 days and 3 nights later He rose from the dead. Our Father in heaven raised him from the dead. If you are at least 7 years old you can count to three hey?
Therefore, the Messiah rose from the tomb just before sunset on the weekly Shabbat.
The Bible DOES in fact speak for itself, and leaves no room for error or interpretation. Believe the Messiah’s own words!

The RCC uses the excuse that Revelation is too hard to “figure out” and refuses to explain it to the people.
John Darby was a per-tribulation preacher. And it’s true it was made popular when put in the Scosfield bible. This does not mean no one before him believed it. The topic of rapture has been debated for 2000 years.
The RCC does not believe in any rapture except the church is taken up on the last day. They also believe that the Kingdom of God is the Catholic church reigning in power on earth.
Maybe you should wonder why the RCC refuses to preach on the book of Revelation?

The rapture (1 Thes 4:17) of a great multitude out of the great tribulation on earth (Mat. 24:21-22) to heaven will take place in Rev 7:9-14! This will happen after Jesus opens the 6th seal of the heavenly scroll, when the Son of Man comes back and gathers up His elect to heaven. (Mat. 24:29-31, Mark 13:26-27)

Consider this: the Torah clearly shows that the Temple Mount was bought by David for 600 shekels… Chronicles 21: 24-25: 24; also Samuel chapter 24.21-24. He built there a Mizbe’ach unto Hashem “And David said ‘To buy the threshing-floor of thee, to build an altar unto Ha’Shem …..”.
Catholics believe that all Scripture is inspired by G-d and inerrant. So the Pope knows that the Temple Mount belongs to the Jews. He knows Israel belongs to th Jews but prefers to deal with a bunch of murdering terrorists. Make your own conclusions. I am a former Catholic in the process of converting to Judaism. Far from Jesus ‘returning’ it seems to be the Pope may well find himself rather being the ‘abomination’ on the Temple Mount.
I meant to say the Tanach, rather than the Torah. The point is Christianity is working itself up to another persecution. They want to take the one and only Jewish state away from the Jews, whether through the Muslims or otherwise. And let’s remember Israel is a refugee state, and I don’t mean for the ‘Palestinians’ who suddenly invented themselves in 1964.

True Christians will rule with Christ in the New Jerusalem. The Jews rejected the Messiah,so they are not “called by his name”. The worldly church, which is corrupt will go through the tribulation. The true bible believing Christians, will return with Christ [Christ will set foot on the Mount of Olive] to rule during his millennium kingdom. This privilege is reserved for Messianic Jews and Christians only. Modern Jews must accept the Messiah now or be lost like the unsaved gentiles. True Christians are also the children of Abraham (drafted in through the blood sacrifice of [Yeshua] Christ).
Why is everyone arguing religion with each other? Just comment on the story itself. My comment: The pope has even less reason to have any say or control over Temple Mount than the so-called palestinians. Israel has proven itself time and time again that it can protect, and respect the various religions who love Israel and hold its holy sites to be sacred. Israel alone believes in freedom of religion and is capable of providing security for these sites. Israel alone should be in control of the temple mount, because Israel would guarantee that all peoples are able to have access in a fair and safe manner.
