“Lebanon to be turned into another Gaza-strip”

A Lebanese Christian leader warned Saturday that Hezbollah would soon turn Lebanon into another version of the Gaza Strip if indeed it assumes political power in the country, trampling human rights and financial stability like Hamas.

Samir Geagea is a good example of a "Christian" leader who is more concerned with money than the Kingdom of God.

“The situation will be similar to that in Gaza, and we all know what the positions of the world and the Arabs will be, aside from Syria, regarding this government,” said Samir Geagea, the leader of the Lebanese Forces, a Christian militia. “I ask those who rejoice in a government without Hariri, what of our financial situation? Who will invest a single lira in us? Does anyone think there will be investors in our economy?”

“Our students will have no freedom, they will not be able to set foot outside the universities. We all know what kind of liberties these governments allow,” he added.

Political turmoil hit Lebanon last week, when 11 Hezbollah ministers resigned from Hariri’s government in a successful attempt at toppling it. The ministers were protesting the investigation against the group by the UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon, which is widely expected to indict Hezbollah members for the the 2005 assassination of Sunni Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri.

My comments;

Once again, we see an Arab “Christian” leader who is firmly attached to this world and without any thought in his mind for the Kingdom of God. This leader of a “Christian” faction in Lebanon is more concerned with money and political freedoms than with the spiritual condition of his community and his country.

He is not wrong to worry about the things he mentions, but the fact that they are his primary concern is a warning to Christians everywhere to avoid spiritual blindness and, as the saying goes, “keep the Main Thing the main thing.”

Yeshua Ha’Mashiac (Jesus Christ) warns us in Matthew 6:24;

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other You cannot serve God and wealth.

What this “Christian” leader should be warning about is that Hezbollah is a demonic force for wickedness and evil and that if it manages to take over his country it will become an outpost for the plans and purposes of Lucifer, right on the border with Israel, which is, as the Lord said in Zechariah 2:8;

After glory He has sent me against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.

No doubt, if Hezbollah turns out to be good for business, Samir Gaegea will change his mind and happily embrace it.

We all need to keep this man in mind, and remember him the next time we get upset about something we see on the news.  What we get upset about is a good indication of how close our hearts’ are to the Heart of God.

Lunatic Iranian leadership outmanuevers the West again

Representatives from Iran and six world powers have ended their meetings in Turkey to discuss Tehran’s controversial nuclear program with no reported progress.

Ayatollah Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has a lunatic ghost on the wall. Together they run Iran.

Reuters news agency says Iran gave no indication that it was willing to make concessions. The talks scheduled for Friday and Saturday include the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany, a group known as the P5 + 1.

Iranian state-run media quote a communications official attending the talks, media affairs deputy for the Secretariat of the Supreme National Council Abolfazi Zohrevand, as saying his country’s nuclear rights have “not been an issue” in the debate.

On Thursday, a U.S. State Department spokesman says the United States does not expect any “big breakthroughs” in Istanbul. But he says U.S. negotiators were willing to discuss a nuclear fuel swap proposal updated to reflect Iran’s progress in enrichment since 2009.

World leaders are hoping to address concerns that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons, a charge Tehran denies.

My comments;

I have been closely watching the growing threat from Iran’s efforts to build nuclear weapons for several years. If it wasn’t so terrifying it would be hilarious.

The Iranians are determined to build nuclear weapons because they think (probably correctly) that it will massively increase their power and make them the military and political hegemon on the Middle East, able to order around thier Arab neighbors, control the price of oil and realize a long cherished dream of destroying Israel.

Iran's leaders have made their intentions perfectly obvious, but the world is still trying to convince itself that there is a peaceful solution.

Several of the Iranian leaders have demonstrated unmistakable symptoms of severe mental illness.

Efforts to “negotiate” with such a regime might also be a sign of mental illness, or at least wishful thinking.

But although the Iranian leadership might be crazy, they’re not stupid. They know exactly how to string the leaders of Western countries along, playing them off against each other, making confusing offers and counteroffers and playing on fears of terrorism and war.

Iran also controls the Shi’ite terrorist organization Hizbullah in Lebanon, which they’ve armed with an estimated 50,000 rockets that are aimed at Israel, to deter the Jewish State from launching air strikes against Iran.

There are simply no good options for dealing with Iran, but continuing with worthless negotiations is the worst of them. Sooner or later Israel and the West will be in a war with the Islamic Republic, and every day they get stronger and we get weaker.

The best and only hope for Iran and the world is the underground church there, which as I’ve said before is rumored to have over a million members and is growing fast. We must pray for these precious Believers and also for our leaders to have wisdom in how to deal with this incredibly dangerous situation.

Israel risks war with Lebanon soon

The government of Lebanon collapsed Wednesday when the Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah resigned. The Israeli army is on high alert.

It's almost impossible to know where Hezbollah stops and Lebanon begins, making Lebanon a virtual military colony of Iran.

The resignations were announced shortly after Prime Minister Saad Hariri met with President Barack Obama at the White House.

Top U.S. officials have condemned the move by Hezbollah and its allies to bring the government down. President Obama and Prime Minister Hariri reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence, even as the government in Beirut was collapsing.

After the meeting, the White House released a written statement, saying in part, “The efforts by the Hezbollah-led coalition to collapse the Lebanese government only demonstrate their own fear and determination to block the government’s ability to conduct its business and advance the aspirations of all of the Lebanese people.”

Lebanon’s year-old unity government came down when Hezbollah ministers and their allies resigned over the United Nations-backed tribunal investigating the 2005 assassination of then-Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the father of the current leader.

Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and Syria, denies involvement in the assassination and has denounced the tribunal. Mr. Obama and Prime Minister Hariri discussed efforts with France, Saudi Arabia and others to maintain calm in Lebanon and allow the tribunal to continue its work.

My comments;

Israel’s northern neighbor is a political and social basket case, with instability being the normal state of affairs.

The problems in Lebanon have already dragged Israel into two wars in 1982 and 2006. The Iranians control Hezbollah and are looking for an excuse to start trouble with Israel, so it’s very possible that Israel could be sucked into another war in Lebanon soon.

The obvious move for Hezbollah would be to divert the attention of their opponents inside Lebanon by pointing at Israel as the “real enemy” which should be attacked.

Mark 13:7 says;

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.

As we move closer to the end of the Age, there will be more and more political/social instability, conflict and chaos, ushering in the final anti-Christ.  We must never cease to pray for ourselves, our loved ones, our congregations, our pastors, and last but not least our political leaders who are appointed by God to deal with these things.

Iran and Syria continue to supply weapons to Hizbullah in Lebanon

Damascus Airport has been identified as the transit point for airlifts of Iranian arms that were subsequently transferred to Hizbullah via the open Syrian-Lebanese border, under the supervision of the Syrian security services.

Hizbullah troops give the Nazi salute to their Iranian masters.

A senior Pentagon official has divulged that Hizbullah has 50,000 rockets and missiles, including 40-50 Fatah 110 missiles and 10 SCUD-C ground-to-ground missiles. Furthermore, some 10,000 Hizbullah fighters have been provided with a broad range of modern weapons, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have trained Hizbullah teams to operate these weapons.

Currently, the Iranians exercise more control than ever over Hizbullah. Iranian General Hassan Madavi, Commander of the Lebanon Corps of the Revolutionary Guards, sits in Beirut alongside scores of Iranian officers and experts.

In South Lebanon, with the assistance of the engineering units of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Hizbullah has dug tunnels that conceal its fighters from the watchful eye of Israeli UAVs that patrol the region. Hizbullah command centers were also equipped with an independent communications network funded by Iran.

Hizbullah also continues to conceal its war materiel in mosques, schools, fire stations, and the like. According to Israeli intelligence, at least 100 Lebanese villages have become genuine military bases.

My comments;

UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the war between Israel and Hizbullah in 2006, explicitly forbade the re-arming of Hizbullah. But as usual, the UN has concentrated on enforcing those parts of 1701 that constrain Israel’s ability to defend itself from aggression while giving those who are attacking it a free pass.

In February of 2010 I attended a conference in Tel Aviv on the subject of Ballistic Missile Defense. Senior military officers Israel, the US and NATO countries as well as Japan and India joined with Israeli industrial leaders who were working on solutions to the problem to warn that the threat to Israel from missiles is “existential” and that in the next war, many Israeli civilians will probably be killed by them before the IDF is able to fight its way into the areas from which they are being launched and put a stop to them.

As the recent Carmel mountain fires demonstrates, Israel’s civil defense system is not up to the task of dealing with large scale devastation of the civilian infrastructure such as will surely occur in such a conflict.

As watchmen for Israel, we need to make praying for the protection of Israeli civilians a top priority. Pray AGAINST the missile attacks from Iran, Syria, Hizbullah and Hamas and pray that God confounds the plans of the wicked.
