Pope Francis continued a tradition of venerating a statue of the “Blessed Mother” in Rome.

The statue, located in the famed Piazza di Spagna, was consecrated in 1857, several years after the adoption of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Tens of thousands of faithful gathered for the celebration.
Prior to the recitation of a Marian prayer by the Holy Father, a reading from the book of Revelation was read, which describes the Virgin Mary as “a woman clothed with the sun with the moon beneath her feet and around her head a crown of twelve stars.”
“Holy and Immaculate Virgin, to You, the honor of our people and caring guardian of our city, we turn with confidence and love,” the Holy Father said beginning his prayer.

“Awaken in us all a renewed desire for holiness: in our word shine forth the splendor of truth, in our works resound the hymn of charity, in our body and in our hearts dwell purity and chastity, in our life may the beauty of the Gospel always be present.”

The Holy Father went on to pray that the Blessed Mother’s intercession allow us to be attentive to the poor, the sick, the children and every human life.

My comment:
The Bible says we should only go through Jesus the Messiah when we approach the divine authority in heaven.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
The Pope sets the Bible aside, and put him self above the Word of God. He proclaim that we can ask ‘The mother of God” to be our mediator in Heaven.
Absolutely, not required. And even worse. Prayers to the claimed Roman Catholic “Queen of heaven” is a pagan practice that pre dates the birth of Jesus, and is banned in the book of Jeremiah.
The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes to offer to the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to arouse my anger.
The Pope leads all Roman Catholics to become mockers of God of the Bible. To pray to Father God in any other name than Jesus, is nothing but sin and blasphemy.
They say to wood, “You are my father,” and to stone, “You gave me birth.” They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, “Come and save us!”
This is the truth. Repent or perish.

Incidentally, the comments on “News that Matters” shows that we are actually talking about Anti-Catholic Propaganda that Matters”. There was certainly nothing in the article mentioning a “Marian Death Cult”– the idea is outrageous and absurd, and clear evidence that the writer, Ivar Fjeld, has managed to avoid such minor parts of Holy Scripture as, say, the Gospel of Luke.
“Hail, O Favored One of God” — the Angel Gabriel’s words, not mine. “For behold, all generations will call me blessed”– well, except, apparently, for Ivar’s generation. “For He that is mighty hath magnified me”– that’s not the Pope magnifying the Virgin Mary– it’s God. There’s more, but I’ll stop there.
I tried to ignore the argument that, because Catholics call Mary, the mother of God and the first Christian believer, the Queen of Heaven, then they’re worshipping the same pagan goddess attacked by Jeremiah– it’s such bad scholarship. The same pagans also had a ‘father god’, but that doesn’t make us pagans for calling God the Father. Having the same name or title doesn’t mean you’re the same– I saw that the former president (of South Africa) just died, but didn’t think that they’re burying a Clinton or a Bush. Bad argument.
I also was surprised (but not impressed) by the statement, “to pray to Father God in any name other than Jesus is nothing but sin and blasphemy.” Really? So when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, and He taught them the Lord’s Prayer without saying that they must pray it in His name, Jesus was teaching them to sin and blaspheme? Ivar, do you really mean that?
In any case, Catholics don’t pray to Mary or any other saint– they ask the saints to pray for them to God the Father and to His Son, Jesus Christ. If God can hear all of our prayers, including those who’ve died (to say otherwise is to argue that God is not all-powerful! and to deny Scripture regarding the dead’s continued awareness even before Final Judgement (think of the good thief, and “Today, you will be with me in Paradise”), then it makes sense to ask those who were especially holy to pray for us, just as we would ask friends from church to pray for us.
It is a shame that some people allow their own prejudices to effect their Christian faith. Comments such as these merely divide Christians from one another, at a time when Christianity is under attack from the forces of secularism. Ivar good far better spend his time seeking ways to build up the whole Body of Christ, that ‘we may be one, as Christ and the Father are one’.

My comment:
Let me list up some Biblical facts:
1. The mother of Jesus was Jewish. She was a Torah-obeying Jewess, who offered a sin offering in the Temple.
2. The mother of Jesus, is a created being. A human. All humans have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God.
3. The mother of Jesus was not a Cameleon kind of being. She did not change colors. One day white, and one day black.
4. The mother of Jesus did have sex with her husband, after she, as a virgin, gave birth to the Messiah.
5. The mother of Jesus had many children. The names of her boys are even mentioned in the scriptures.
6. The mother of Jesus would faint, if anyone would make an idol of her, and bow and kiss a statue made of stone, claimed to be of her likeness.
In conclusion: Catholic Mary and the mother of Jesus is not the same person. The Catholic copycat mock God of the Bible. A fiction, and based on doctrines taught by demons.
What are you suppose to do about this? Please do not spend eternity in Hell, regretting that you were not willing to repent. Please Make a U-turn, and renounce this cult, a religious movement based on lies and fraud.
Well said CónegoZ.

– Very True.
Ivar, Is it a sin to have a mediator between Christ Jesus and mankind?
Current NEWS: “Christians Are Being Burned Alive, Beheaded, Crucified, Tortured To Death And Imprisoned In Metal Shipping Containers. ”
And most of them are Coptic and orthodox Catholics around middle east.
Ivar, Do you think these Catholics die-off for a copy-cat Jesus?
Dear Oldman
Shalom.

Please do not use me. You can pray to Jesus your self. If He do not answer you, do not blame Him.

My comment:
Islam is colorblind. Islamic forces kill all kafirs. Either they are Catholics, Christians or secular beings. If a secular man is butchered by a Muslim, he will not enter heaven because he was slain with a sword.
No, you are wrong in this matter. Militants increased pressure on Christians to convert to Islam. Most of the killed are refused to denounce Christ! Great Martyrs.
O’ Lord Jesus, please come soon,. we are perishing…

your logic is logic of Catholic. You use short quotes from the bible to conclude un-biblical theories.
Statement “for He that is mighty hath magnified me” were ment to Elizabeth too. That is perfectly fine, but where in the bible one gets idea making a statue from either one of those two women and praying “through” them to God? Nowhere. In catholic imagination only.
The fact that Egyptians & Persians worshipped queen of haven doesn’t bother you, is quite telling how blind your faith is regarding “God’s mother”.
Your other statement “In any case, Catholics don’t pray to Mary …..” , well it is a lie. I personally heard call Mary’s name about 100 times at every catholic funeral. Call it as you like, but you lying to your self.
Your reasoning regarding Lord’s prayer taught to disciples is ridiculous. If disciples used your logic, than they would pray to God through Abraham, Joseph, Moses etc. None of them ever did.
Your last statement about Christian unity is misleading.
Catholic’s believe in many traditions and rituals which have roots in pagan worship. I don’t want to have part in them.
They even call man sitting in Vatican “holly father”. Man who proclaimed himself the vicar of God. And thanks to the same men before him, Catholics spilled lot of innocent blood throughout history.
dear friends Jesus was raised as a Jew but He was not Jew or any other because He was created in the womb of a virgin by the spoken Word and born as a kinsman to pay the debt we could not pay. When He was born, God dwelleth in Him, the one and only God JVHU. He has no father or mother. and as we pray to Jesus we pray to God, He is the same yesterday today and forever
@ ConegoZ: “Catholics don’t pray to Mary or any other saint– they ask the saints to pray for them”.
This “practice” is strictly forbidden in the Word of God. This is necromancy and trying to commune with the dead.
Dear Mordechai,
Don’ you read Luke 16:
24 Lazarus called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, ….
25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, ….
It’s not forbidden in the Word of God. and sure that Virgin Mary in Heaven.
@ Oldman: “24 Lazarus called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, ….”.
Here’s all of verse 24 (Amplified): “And he cried out and said, Father Abraham, have pity and mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.”
The “he” is the rich man, not Lazarus. Also, the “he” (rich man) is in Hades/Hell/Gehenna. So, the rich man is not among the living on the earth praying to the dead.
You may want to look for another example to prove your point.
@Mordecai
In response to ConegoZ regarding praying to saints, you stated that “This “practice” is strictly forbidden in the Word of God. This is necromancy and trying to commune with the dead.”
I think there is a difference in seeking out the dead apart from God as if they are deities in & of themselves with power to foretell the future, use black magic, or sorcery vs asking those in heaven who abide in Christ who have already received their sanctification to pray for us (also known as the communion of saints). The communion of saints is Scriptural.

Mary was not the first christian beleiver. Christianity was around 200 years before jesus was born, ever heard of a prophet? . Nice try though. There is no defending the pagan influenced paedophile ridden murderous catholic church in the face of truth. The pope answers to the djall. Not the creator.
@pete
You stated that “ Mary was not the first christian beleiver.”
Actually she was. At the Annunciation, she believed in the prophecies of the coming Messiah, & she gave God her yes in cooperation with His will & plan.
Christianity was around 200 years before jesus was born, ever heard of a prophet? .
Formally believers in Christ were first called Christians in Antioch in the Book of Acts, Ch. 11:20-21.
You added: “Nice try though. There is no defending the pagan influenced paedophile ridden murderous catholic church in the face of truth. The pope answers to the djall. Not the creator.“
Pedophilia knows no ethnic, socioeconomic, nor religious bounds. Look up your own denomination online in a Google search to see where it stands as far as being untainted by assaults from sexual predators & other forms of human falleness. Also please provide sources of your alleged pagan connections for pedophilia & how exactly it ties in with the topic at hand.
The Pope is Pope because he is St. Peter’s successor, who’d received the laying on of hands from Christ Himself, as all Apostolic successors have since the Church’s beginnings. That succession is Scriptural (See Acts 1:12-26).
Demonic jooz all of em
Concerning coptics, catholics, protestants and others who describe themselves as ‘Christian’ who are persecuted even unto death, the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob says
Hosea 4
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
We can either passively let ourselves be deceived or we can be like the Noble Jews of Berea, listening patiently and then going home and privately studying the scriptures to see if what we have been taught is the truth.
The truth is, the dead are dead and they cannot hear us. The spirits of the saints who were beheaded sleep beneath the throne of God awaiting His avenging of their suffering, those saints are asleep, they cannot hear us, but they will begin to stir as the end approaches, then they will be given white robes to put on and told to wait while God avenges their suffering. They do not appeal to God on behalf of anyone they knew who their mediator was before they were brutally put to death.
I was a catholic until I found Jesus Christ, its not propaganda to say the roman catholics tortured true christians. Its not propaganda to say Hitler was a catholic and killed many people, its not propaganda but prophecy to say they will do it again. It is unscriptural to do repetitve prayers, have to confess sins to a man that cannot forgive you only God, he is not my representative of God on earth Jesus Christ is and I dont need t pray to mary just Jesus for He is the high priest and the intercessor, the forgiver and cleanser of unrighteousness. No need to kiss the ring or bow to another and we are aware of any attempt to disguise himslef as anything else other than who really is. There is no one true faith mentioned in scipture nor is there denominations in there, just made up by men to suit what they want and deceiving those that rely on their idol and hang of their words instead of bowing to Jesus and reading His word, following His instructions in righteousness. When you are challenged the spirit of error manifests speaking in ignorance things it does not know or want to know. If you were filled with the Holy Spirit and was led to all truth you would know the truth and the truth would have set you free. Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony if they speak not according to this word there is no light in them”. What people tell you is knowledge but you reject it and it is the very thing that could save you, you loyalty should be to the Lord Jesus Christ and obey what He says, most of the practices God detests it and you can find this in the word. Jesus never said anyone needed to remain celebate to serve Him. There is too much blood on the hands and God ha not forgotten the sins committed against His people and little children socome out of her so you can escape the plagues that are to befall her and worship God in spirit and in truth. God loves you and He wants you to have no other before Him, it is His requirement. Ask the Lord to show you the truth, confess to Him so you ca be forgiven and follow Him so you can be truly born again.
Awsome reply bro im an ex catholic ex atheist christian

Thanks for this comment. I hope many Roman Catholics will leave the papacy, alone. The Pope is a false teacher, truly an antichrist in the flesh.
AMEN AND AMEN!!!
Yahushua was a Jew because Mary had the DNA bloodline from Dawid the King who was from the tribe of Yahudah.
Dawid will never lack a man sitting on the throne over Yisrael and this will be true for eternity through Dawid my servant, the son of Dawid = Yahushua.
P.S. Both Pope Benedict and Francis have now called the Dome of the Rock, Islam’s 3rd holiest site “this sacred place” <benedict and "This Holy Place" < Francis. That is enough for me. The shrine of a false diety is not sacred or holy, it is an abomination in the sight of YHWH who is a jealous EL (God)
I would think the "vicars of Christ" would know better than to say such abominable things. Both articles below are from official catholic websites;
Benedict said: . I am deeply grateful for the invitation to visit this sacred place, and I willingly pay my respects to you and the leaders of the Islamic community in Jerusalem.
" Pope Francis stressed, “Dear friends, from this holy place I make a heartfelt plea to all people and to all communities who look to Abraham: may we respect and love one another as brothers and sisters!”
http://www.ewtnnews.com/catholic-news/Vatican.php?id=10036
One more Benedict quote from the above article; “Dear friends, I have come to Jerusalem on a journey of faith. I thank God for this occasion to meet you as the Bishop of Rome and Successor of the Apostle Peter, but also as a child of Abraham, by whom “all the families of the earth find blessing” (Gen 12:3; cf. Rom 4:16-17).
The blessing comes through Abraham to Isaac to Jacob to Judah and onwards to Yahushua himself as the final blessing to the families of the whole earth, not through Ishmael and Mohammed as Islam claims and demands.
We have to do it YHWH’s way, not our own way.
Pope Francis also made mention of the Abrahamic link to this utopian one world blending of faiths in a single God. Once again I repeat, we must do it YHWH’s way, not our own way.
Reblogged this on Spiritual Abuse Sanctuary.
But then the Jehovah Witnesses would be right, such as the denying of the trinity because the bible strictly says there is only ONE God, not a Trinity. And also then there would be no hell because the bible says that the wages of sin is death, and also there would be no celebration of the holidays or birthdays because the bible says it. Therefore the Jehovah Witnesses are the true christian church. But I’m not JW, I’m Christian
Where do you people get all this stuff ? I’m 54 years old and have been a Catholic my entire life. I’ve lived most of it in Texas, USA in the Bible Belt where there is plenty of misunderstanding about the Catholic Church and some downright hostility. Yet I don’t think I’ve ever encountered such bizarre statements about Catholicism as I have in a few minutes of scanning this website. Any “ex-Catholic” who believes this nonsense never understood the faith to begin with. If you have any questions see the Catechism at http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM — Yes it has scriptural references.
@watcher137
Let’s take your points one by one.
1
“I was a catholic until I found Jesus Christ, its not propaganda to say the roman catholics tortured true christians.”
Historically Catholics were the first Christians. It started off with Jewish believers, & with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the Church was born. It was called The Way. Believers at Antioch we’re first called Christians. In time with the rise of heresies, to distinguish itself from heretics identifying as Christian, the Church became known as the Catholic Church.
This is from Wikipedia on the Catholic Church:
“Catholic (from Greek: καθολικός, translit. katholikos, lit. ‘universal’) was first used to describe the church in the early 2nd century.[19] The first known use of the phrase “the catholic church” (καθολικὴ ἐκκλησία he katholike ekklesia) occurred in the letter written about 110 AD from Saint Ignatius of Antioch to the Smyrnaeans.[note 2] In the Catechetical Lectures (c. 350) of Saint Cyril of Jerusalem, the name “Catholic Church” was used to distinguish it from other groups that also called themselves “the church”.[20][21] The “Catholic” notion was further stressed in the edict De fide Catolica issued 380 by Theodosius I, the last emperor to rule over both the eastern and the western halves of the Roman Empire, when establishing the state church of the Roman Empire.[22]”
From Catholic Answers – “What ‘Catholic’ Means”:
“The Greek roots of the term “Catholic” mean “according to ( *kata* -) the whole ( *holos* ),” or more colloquially, ” *universal* .” At the beginning of the second century, we find in the letters of Ignatius the first surviving use of the term “Catholic” in reference to the Church. At that time, or shortly thereafter, it was used to refer to a single, visible communion, separate from others.
Early Church historian J. N. D. Kelly, a Protestant, writes: “As regards ‘Catholic,’ its original meaning was ‘universal’ or ‘general.’ . . . in the latter half of the second century at latest, we find it conveying the suggestion that the Catholic is the true Church as distinct from heretical congregations (cf., e.g., Muratorian Canon). . . . What these early Fathers were envisaging was almost always the empirical, visible society; they had little or no inkling of the distinction which was later to become important between a visible and an invisible Church” (Early Christian Doctrines, 190–1).
From the Book of Acts in the original Koine Greek – using the Lexicon from BibleHub:
Acts 5:11 – “holen ten ekklesian” – nominative – translated as “The Whole Church”
Acts 9:31 – εκκλησια καθ’ολης (ekklesia kathholes) – Catholic is also an adjective, but it modifies the words following it, best translated as “the Church throughout the whole of…”
Acts 15:22 – “holen ten ekklesian” – nominative – translated as “The Whole Church”
Something very important to consider: if your church arose about 1500+ years after the fact, it cannot be the true church. There are some serious historical questions to address on the matter.

“Its not propaganda to say Hitler was a catholic and killed many people, its not propaganda but prophecy to say they will do it again.”
It is true that Hitler made this claim. It is also true that according to Scripture, “you shall know them by their fruit.” History shows that in name only he was Catholic; in practice he was a pagan occultist.
3
“It is unscriptural to do repetitve prayers,”
So when someone recites Psalm 136 & repeats “ His love endures forever,” is that also repetitive prayer? How about when Chris Tomlin wrote a song based on that same psalm & he repeats “ His love endures forever“? Is that also unscriptural?
@watcher137

“have to confess sins to a man that cannot forgive you only God, he is not my representative of God on earth Jesus Christ is”
The Scriptures inform of people who cooperate with God’s will & plans. Many have done great & miraculous things in His power with His authority. Moses & Elijah come to mind.
With that in mind, consider the following:
From Jn 20 NIV (BibleHub):
21Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
23If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
How does this compare with this?
From Mt 6 NIV (BibleHub):
14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
5
and I dont need t pray to mary just Jesus for He is the high priest and the intercessor, the forgiver and cleanser of unrighteousness.
I’d already addressed the communion of saints on another post on this thread. Regarding the Blessed Virgin, I’ll say that as the mother of Our Lord, a royal descendant of King David, & a member of the communion of saints, she is in a very unique position in the economy of salvation because Our Savior & our salvation was made possible through her yes, & the Lord acted for us through her. In Biblical typology, she is the Ark of the New Covenant. As Jesus kept the Commandments perfectly, He honored His Father & His mother – even though she was a mere creature. Check the Hebrew: to “honor” one’s parents is to “glorify” them: that is Scriptural. As the mother of the King of Kings, she is the Gebirah. Look up the word as it relates to the queens/great ladies of Israel.

No need to kiss the ring or bow to another and we are aware of any attempt to disguise himslef as anything else other than who really is.
God’s vicar on earth in accordance with Isaiah 22:15-24 & Mt 16:18-19?
