Lars Gule was jailed in Beirut in 1977 for planning a bomb explosion in Israel.
Two Norwegian Lutheran mission associations have invited Lars Gule to a panel debate during a Christian youth camp in the city of Bergen 26th -28th of August 2011.

The amazing invitation from two Norwegian Lutheran mission associationsis were not based on a recent conversion of Gule to the Christian faith. To the radical opposite, Lars Gule was leader of the National Humanist association from 2000 to 2005. He also bluntly call God of the Bible a mass murderer.
Gule was in 1977 a member of Al-Jabhah al-Dimuqratiyah Li-Tahrir Filastin, a communist Palestinian terrorist organization, that worked for the destruction of Israel.
Lars Gule tried to smuggle explosives into Israel, and planned to trigger a bomb explosion in Tel Aviv. The Norwegian terrorist desired to kill Jews to mark that 10 years had passed since the 1967 war.

I have many friends and brothers in the evangelical Lutheran camp. They will surely agree, that Jesus told Peter: “Feed by lambs”. But who told Christians: Feed the wolfs?
Forget about Lars Gule being a notorious Jew-hater, and an enemy of Israel.
He is also a prominent mocker of God and Christians.
It appears that leaders in the Lutheran Mission associations of Norway, do not pay to much attention to their call to be good shepherds.

Lars Gule was arrested in 1977. He spent three months in jail in Beirut, and was sent back to Norway.
This crime was committed 34 years ago by a young man. But so was the crime committed by Yasser Arafat. He ended up in Oslo Rådhus (mayors hall), and received the Nobel peace price. Lars Gule has not reached so fare. But the invitation to explain who God of the Bible is to Lutheran youth, is not a bad achievement for a left wing terrorist.
If He can’t trigger a bomb in Israel, he can at least destroy the young fruits of decades of hard work in Norwegian churches and fellowships.

I think it is sad that such disinformation is spread about our work. Our organizations are among the strongest defenders of Israel in our people! Lars Gule is one of the most famous apologists for humanism in Norway, and we invited him into a live debate on the issue of human dignity. The purpose was to illustrate the difference between humanism and Judeo / Christian views on this question. Moreover, we wanted to model for Christian young people how to stand up for their beliefs in the face of a secular world. Does this make us poor shepherds …?

Lars Gule was probably invited based on his background as general secretary of the Humanist Association of Norway, and because he has a leading position within the field of human dignity and human rights. He was invited because he is a skilled debater and his opinions are as far as possible from what we stand for. According to interviews, he has distanced himself from his activities in Lebanon.

Since many readers of this blog can not read Norwegian, let me also translate your message into English. Or rather tell them what you did not write, in your defense of using Lars Gule.
1. You are not mentioning that He has been arrested in Libanon, plotting a bomb attack inside Israel.
2. You are not telling that he was a member of a Left wing Palestinian Terrorist organization.
3. You have not disclosed, that Lars Gule today is an equally committed enemy of the Jewish people, and a supporter of the PLO and Hamas.
It is correct that your organization, do support Israel’s right to exist, and do not share the views of Lars Gule. But i strongly advice you to tell your youth about what kind of person you have invited. Both on your own website, and at the youth camp.

The forum “Verdi-debatt” is a chat forum controlled by the newspaper Vårt Land. This Newspaper is sponsored by the Government of Norway, and represent the state controlled Church of Norway.
I must say, I am surprised that you as the leader of the Norwegian Indremisjon (Norwegian Internal Lutheran mission) present this forum as a supporting forum. Specially since your organization has broken away from the state controlled Norwegian Church, whom your own members consider to be an apostate church.
Let me remind you, that the independent Christian Newspaper “Dagen” has published warnings from Christian leaders, who advise Lutheran youth not to attend your youth camp. I guess it never crossed your mind, to link up articles from this newspaper, whom your own organizations have been a shareholder of for many years. For decades your own organization had members on the board of “Dagen”.
Let me recommend the newspaper “Dagen”, to all Norwegians who wants to read independent stories about Christian activities in Norway.
I hope you still consider me to be a serious Christian, even after bringing this knowledge to the readers of this blog.
I also guess it would be wise for your own leaders, to admit a lapse in judgement, rather than to question the motives of those who strongly disagree with you, in regards to Mr. Lars Gule.

1. When you suggest that Anders Behring Breivik should participate in the debate on our event, you are in my opinion, beyond serious debate.
