In ‘Reuters’ interview ahead of 90th birthday, president shrugs off fears that rebel weapons could be turned on Israel.
Israeli President Shimon Peres also dismisses idea of unilateral strike on Iran, and urges Palestinians, Israelis to forge ahead with peace.
President Shimon Peres has thrown his weight behind US plans to arm Syrian rebels, shrugging off fears the weapons could be turned on Israel and exacerbate the conflict.
In a wide-ranging interview with Reuters before his 90th birthday, Peres dismissed the idea that Israel could launch a unilateral military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities and urged Palestinians and Israelis to forge immediate peace.
But asked if the US decision was wise, Peres said “Yes.”
“They didn’t have a choice,” he added, sitting in the sun-soaked garden of his tranquil Jerusalem residence and speaking in quiet, measured tones.
“Unfortunately it is becoming more of a confrontation between two superpowers and (there is) a growing intervention of outside forces … It is a tragedy,” he said.

It will not be possible to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, if you have not been born again. Nicodemus could not enter the Kingdom of Heaven, just by claiming to be born by a Jewish mother.
Just like Shimon Peres.
John 3: 3-7
Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.
‘How can someone be born when they are old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!’
Jesus answered, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again.”
If you have absolutely no trust in God of Israel, but believe the message of US President Barack Hussein Obama, you are lost. Even is you claim to be Jewish.
To arm man who cut hearts out of human flesh, and eat the flesh, is supporting pure barbarians. The most horrible men we have seen on the face of the Earth, since the Nazis slaughtered six million Jews in gas chambers in Germany.
Sadly, a man like Shimon Peres works with the enemies of Zionism, enemies of the state of Israel, and enemies of God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
At the end, there will be just two flocks left. Those who obey God, and those who have joined those who blaspheme.
May Jesus the Messiah have mercy on the soul of Shimon Peres.
