Rick Warren: – I am ready to be jailed for my faith

He tweeted he would “go to jail” rather than cave in to a government mandate that violates God’s commandments.

Rich Warren is a Christian leader with a global audience.

Rick Warren, perhaps the nation’s most influential evangelical pastor, has tweeted he would “go to jail” rather than cave in to a government mandate that violates God’s commandments.

Pastor Rick Warren, pastor of the 20,000-member Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, tweeted his defiance of the Obama administration’s requirements that religious institutions cover all forms of contraception, including abortifacients like Ella and the IUD, as part of their health care plans.

On Tuesday, Warren addressed the issue three times on his Twitter feed.
“I’d go to jail rather than cave in to a govement [sic.] mandate that violates what God commands us to do. Would you? Acts 5:29,” he wrote.

The second message quoted that verse of Scripture: “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name” The apostles replied “We must obey God rather than men!” Acts 5:29

Pastor Warren’s third tweet stated, “I’m not a Catholic but I stand in 100 per cent solidarity with my brothers & sisters to practice their belief against govt pressure.”

Warren has been called “America’s most influential spiritual leader” and “America’s Pastor.” His 2002 book, The Purpose Driven Life, sold more than 30 million copies.

Warren’s words come as a particularly stinging indictment to Barack Obama, who chose Warren to give the invocation at his presidential inauguration in January 2009.

Warren’s comments come as part of a flurry of evangelical condemnation of the mandate, which goes into effect for religious institutions in 2013.

My comment:

I have earlier published the prayer where Pastor Rick Warren prayed to Muslim “Esa”. This took place when Warren blessed President Obama during his inauguration.

Her is a link to the transcript.

I have seen any regret expressed by Warren. If I am wrong: Please send a link if you have one.

I pray that Rick Warren also take Saddleback Church out of the antisemitic World Council of Churches (WCC).

Nevertheless, it is with great joy I read Warrens rebuke of the US President.  Either we agree or disagree with the Church growth movement, we must give Warren credit for his last tweets.

Every Christian must not only be willing and reedy to go to jail for their faith in Jesus. They must also ask Jesus to give them strength to be martyred, if that is required.

 Philippians 3:20
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The latest move by the US Government is just another example of the anti-Christian nature of every Earthly empire. Jesus underlined that His Kingdom is not of the World.  Every follower of Jesus must focus on Eternity, and rejoice over our citizenship in Heaven.

  1. YES IT WOULD BE GOOD IF HE COULD SEE HOW THE WCC IS A RELIGIOUS GOVERNMENT BUT THAT MAY TAKE TIME FOR HIM TO SEE THAT ,,,, BUT I BELIEVE WHEN THE LAST POWERFUL MESSAGE IS POURED OUT ON MANKIND MANY WILL REJECT THERE ERRORS AND UNITE WITH THE CREATOR

  2. News in Danish TV Feb. 2012. Location: Libanon. Participants: Members of Hizbollah. A Young boy in uniform, 7 years old, gave the statement, that he in the future would go to Israel and blow up himself and as many Israeli as possible.
Second World War: Kamikaze pilots gave up their lives.
    They believe!

Pastor Warren stated that he if necessary would go to jail for his beliefs.
    What is Warrens beliefs?

Let Rick Warren speak for himself
    1) In USATODAY the stated the fact that: Warren’s pastor-training programs welcome Catholics, Methodists, Mormons, Jews and ordained women.
Warrens comments was as follows: “I’m not going to get into a debate over the non-essentials. I won’t try to change other denominations. Why be divisive?” Warren asks.

    2) The first Reformation with Luther was a disaster, a mistake. Warren says:
You know, 500 years ago, the first Reformation with Luther and then Calvin, was about beliefs. I think a new reformation is going to be about behavior. The first Reformation was about creeds; I think this one will be about deeds. I think the first one was about what the church believes; I think this one will be about what the church does.
The first Reformation actually split Christianity into dozens and then hundreds of different segments. I think this one is actually going to bring them together. Now, you’re never going to get Christians, of all their stripes and varieties, to agree on all of the different doctrinal disputes and things like that, but what I am seeing them agree on are the purposes of the church. And I find great uniformity in the fact that I see this happening all the time.

    3) What is Warrens primary goal, his objective?
The PEACE-plan. The solution for the five major problems on Earth.
The first one is spiritual emptiness, Warren says. How shall we as Christian solve that problem worldwide?
Warren says: When Jesus sent the disciples – this will be my last point – when Jesus sent the disciples into a village he said, “Find the man of peace.” And he said, “When you find the man of peace you start working with that person, and if they respond to you, you work with them. If they don’t, you dust the dust off your shoes; you go to the next village.” Who’s the man of peace in any village – or it might be a woman of peace – who has the most respect, they’re open and they’re influential? They don’t have to be a Christian. In fact, they could be a Muslim, but they’re open and they’re influential and you work with them to attack the five giants. And that’s going to bring the second Reformation.
    See reference at 2)

Warren talks at muslim-convents, at G8 meeting, at Universities, at economical meetings and so forth. He is highly popular and influential anywhere.
Jail is not an option. He is at no risk because he don’t proclaims the biblical truth: there is only one Savior – Jesus Christ and he don’t follow in the footsteps of the apostle Paul (2 Tim 3,10-12).
On the contrary: Warren fulfills the words of Paul in 2 Tim 4,3-4 to an agree the world have never seen before.

    1. Dear PE Haar.

      Shalom.

In the present article about Rick Warren, I find it interesting that Warren is willing to go to jail for his faith. I am not sure if all Evangelical Christians would be willing to do the same.

There is also Buddhists and Hindus who are willing to go to jail for their faith. This willingness do not make them Christians.

In regards to Rick Warren, I have written critical comments about his endorsement of Obama. I have also exposed how he blessed Obama in the name of Esa (Islamic version of Jesus). I have also expressed displeasure with Saddleback Church being a member of World Council of Churces (WCC), an antisemetic Church organization.

Still I feel that people in Saddleback Church might get saved in the pulpit of Rick Warren. The gospel is the same, even when it is preached by hypocrites and not perfect men like my self.

      1. Dear James.

        Shalom.

You made it through the spam filter.

        You wrote:

You actually think you are perfect?!?

        My reply:

What kind of comment is this? What kind of answer are you looking for?

      2. Dear James.
No I’m not perfect. In fact I’m a sinner, but with the grace of my Father in Heaven I got saved by the sacrifice on the cross, by his beloved son, Jesus Christ. And I need to pray the Lord’s prayer every day: Forgive me! And He did – thats his promise!
Christ is my peace. He is my only hope.
He was the end of my spiritual emptiness.
Col 2,13-14: “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross”.
John 14,6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Is that the gospel and hope for anyone?
Or is it a minor issue, and the true gospel is what we can do in ‘oneness’?

      1. Dear Lis

        Shalom.

I do not agree that we shall ignore Rick Warren. I do not agree that Warren has a seducing spirit. That would be like saying that all Christians who live in error, have not received the Holy Spirit.

I believe that Rick Warren needs to be rebuked. Like I need to be rebuked once in a while. There are areas in my teaching and walk in faith that surely can be improved.

      2. Dear Lis

        Shalom.

I have not studied Christ and the Checkpoint. I will do.

It is possible to promote “Christianity” without being born again. We have a group of Christians, that we can call “Bible believing not born again Christians”.

You need to have the gift of discernment to be able to track down this kind of movements. It is not by the words people speak, we can discern a follower of Jesus. But rather that the Words and actions are inline. Jesus said that by the fruits, you would be able to recognize his followers.

      3. You have been helpful to me in my view on Israel and the last times. Now I will pray for you, that you may get the true view on the Church Grow Movement.

      4. Dear Lis

        Shalom.

I am blessed that my views on Israel has been helpful. I am aware of the Church growth movement. Faith comes by hearing the gospel, not by loving kindness, coke and pizza. But I do not mind a coke and some pizza.

      5. The Church Grow Movement uses, what ever you mention to attract people – even contemplative prayer, whish is direct occult. This Movement is a fruit of the gone-astray post-Christianity. You will see some of their speakers at “Christ at the Checkpoint” – a liberal replacement event.
