The Gate of Death found inside the Vatican

The Gate of Death is found Inside Saint Peters Bascilica in Rome, and above fly’s a skeleton.

The Gate of Death inside the Vatican, under the statue of Pope Alexander VII.

The monument that includes a skeleton inside Saint Peters Bascilica in Rome, has made many tourists puzzled with what exactly this piece of “art” is all about.

The monument is made by Bernini in the years 1671 A.D to 1678 A.D. It was set up in the Bascilica as an honor to Pope Alexander VII who died in 1667.

This is the official version of what this monument is all about.

“The working door below symbolizes the Gate of Death, above which a skeleton lifts a fold of red marble drapery and holds an hourglass. He is flanked on the right by a statue representing Truth or religion, who rests her foot on a globe specifically placed upon the British Isles, symbolizing the pope’s problems with the Church of England. Three other figures represent Charity, Prudence and Justice”.

My comment:

Lets take a look at a couple of photo’s.

A yellow colored skeleton is flying over the Gate of Death.
A statue of Pope Alexander VII reign over the Gate of Death.
Behind the Gate of Death, there is light. And a staircase that will take you down to the crypt with dozens of dead popes.

Yet another skeleton inside the Vatican, and this one in the Saint Peters Bascillica.

This skeleton is not of human origin, but symbolizes that all man will face death, if we are not raptured.

But why does the Pope feel that we will all end up in the basement of the Vatican?

Would it not be better to make a monument that points to the Gate of Heaven?

We are spiritual born again beings, and our Master Jesus will not take us through the Gates of Death.  After Jesus died on the cross, paid the atonement for our sins, death has no power over us.

Romans 8:37-39
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(end of scriptures).

When you enter through the Gate of Death, you will eventually end up in the crypt of the Basilica. And not surprisingly, there you will find a couple of dozen dead Popes, lifeless, pumped full of chemicals, or kept in wax.

It is bad enough to keep human remains, bones, skull and skeleton inside Churches. But to set up the gate of death?

There is only one word for this: Horrible. The Vatican is just a plain spiritual disaster zone.

  1. These are not the Gates of Death. What David is referring to in Psalm 9 has to do with the corrupted Zodiac popularized by Babylon and authored by Nimrod – who made himself the mighty hunter before the Lord.

The Gates of the Daughter of Zion is the original / corrected system.

One represents a doctrine of death while the other points to the messiah and a doctrine of life. It’s burred pretty deep in the symbolism but it is obvious King David understood “God’s Error” of Psalm 19.

    Star gates. Go figure.

  2. @chromearow, so in this situation now you accused GOD who made the universe including you is in error now, how about if GOD is in error by putting your nose at he side of your anus.

  3. I was there today and there was something very evil about it. The entire Vatican felt like a bottomless pit. The art there is the most culturally and monetarily valuable in the world. Powers of darkness for sure. I could just feel it. Like I did when I knew Joey Griggs liked me in the third grade.
