General Khaled Abdulla Al Bu-Ainnain is a former commander of the Air Force in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He has expressed his concerns in the Khaleej Times, a leading daily newspaper in the UAE.
– The UAE might be caught in the cross fire if Israel or US attack Iran. Our rulers have been acutely sensitive to these realities. We are in the process of building up a robust air defense system, says General Khaled
General Khalid confirms that the leadership in the UAE knows its on the front line of defending the Arab world against possible Iranian aggression.
Boeing supplies Israel
Both Arab Gulf states and Israel are stepping up their preparations for a possible future conflict with Iran over its renegade nuclear program. These preparations includes massive upgrades of missile defense systems. Israel has purchased AC-3 Air Defense Missile from Boeing.
Israel has spent several years and a considerable amount of money developing the Iron Dome and Arrow anti-ballistic missile systems and related radar technology, which has aroused keen interest in Japan, South Korea and other states facing missile threats.
Tripled military expenses
A recent survey by a Swedish think tank, which tracks weapons sales worldwide is alarming. The amount of armaments exported to the Middle East has almost tripled from 2004 to 2008. The new weapons includes a large order by the United Arab Emirates air force for 80 F-16E and 50 French-built Mirage2000 fighter aircraft.

Thanks for linking up my blog to your web-forum. Its interesting that many Sunni dominated Arab nations are likewise scared of Iran, as Israel. Ahmadinejad has radicalized the whole Middle East, and started a dangerous arms race in the region. The difference between a possible nuclear Israel and a want to be nuclear Iran, is that Israel is a democracy, and do not want to harm her neighbors. Only when Israel is attacked, she has hit back on her attackers.
