That Admiral reveals that in 1987, when American forces clashed with Iran in the Persian Gulf, there was a plan to “take down” the regime of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. But again it was a member of the administration, this time Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff William J. Crowe, who “undercut” the operation.
Lyons mentioned in his remarks that in the 1980s, while Ronald Reagan was president, a joint French-American strike plan was devised, but was scrapped due to opposition by then-U.S. Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger.
“Weinberger wouldn’t issue the order,” he recalled. “I personally talked to [then-Secretary of State] George Shultz and [then-National Security Adviser] Bud McFarlane and they told me they pleaded with him and he wouldn’t do it.”
Speaking at the Center for Security Policy in February 2015, retired U.S. Navy Admiral James Lyons addressed a conference on terrorism in Washington D.C. Since then, his remarks at the conference have gone viral, perhaps because, in retrospect, what he said was almost prophetic.

James Aloysius “Ace” Lyons, Jr. (born September 28, 1927) is a retired Admiral in the United States Navy who served as Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet from 1985–87.
The sad part of this story, is that this man waited till he was 88 years old (last year) before the spoke the truth. I guess he would have been fired, if he reveled the truth to the World when he was still in office.
The good part of the story, is that the admiral confirms the tragic state of affairs in US politics. I have earlier opined that Barack Hussein Obama should be impeached for treason. After being removed from office, he should be arrested and put before trial. A life long imprisonment would be a suitable punishment for this traitor.
Obama work for the enemy. And all who speak truth will be targeted.
