St. Cecilia had an angel of Lucifer as her lover

“There is a secret, Valerian, I wish to tell you. I have as a lover an angel of God who jealously guards my body.”

The ancient Celia with her lover, and angel claiming to be from “god”.

These are the records written by the Roman Catholic website Catholic Culture. St. Celia died as a claimed martyr around 200 A.D. Her tomb was discovered around 820 A.D. But the Pope did not open the tomb before 1599, and the remains were exhumed.

The remains were exhumed 1400 years after the concerned person died.  Now a wax figure is adored and venerated in  church of Saint Cecilia in Trastevere in Rome.

The wax figure of Santa Cecilia in a side chapel in the basilica in Rome.

This is what Catholic Culture has recorded:

” In 1599 her grave was opened and her body found in a coffin of cypress wood. It lay incorrupt, as if she had just breathed forth her sou”l.

Cecilia led a life of prayer and meditation and had vowed lifelong virginity, but a youth by the name of Valerian, relying upon the approval of her parents, hoped to marry her. When the wedding night arrived, she confided to Valerian,

“There is a secret, Valerian, I wish to tell you. I have as a lover an angel of God who jealously guards my body.”

 2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

Valerian promised to believe in Christ if he would be enabled to see that angel. Cecilia explained how such was impossible without baptism, and Valerian consented to be baptized.

After he was baptized by Pope Urban and had returned “He found Cecilia in her little room lost in prayer, and next to her the angel of the Lord was standing. When Valerian saw the angel, he was seized with great terror.” The angel handed to them a bouquet of fiery red roses and snow-white lilies as a reward for Cecilia’s love of chastity, a bouquet that would not wither, yet would be visible only to those who love chastity. As a further favor Valerian besought the conversion of his brother Tiburtius.

My comment:

Many of official stories around “Catholic saints” are  grotesque. Others are clearly based on mythology, and others are free fantasy.  Behind all this is damnable occult powers, that leads a man into idolatry.  Shameless sin is presented as “holiness”.

A stone copy of the “saint” is kept in the tomb of a basilica with her name in Rome.

The sorry about “Satan Celia” is on of this shameless stories. That a woman who lived around 200 A.D had an angel as a lover. This is clearly a dark angle, an angel of Lucifer.

The story contradicts it self, like fake stories normally do. A lady who claimed to be a “virgin” should not have had lovers. Not even an Angel.

 Romans 8:37-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons either the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Bible warns us about fallen angels, the messenger of Satan. They are surely around is, trying to deceive us and even demonize us.

Be careful. Do not flirt with occult powers. The Roman Catholic Church is surely a house of demons, the great prostate. Mysterious Babylon, with its headquarter in the Vatican.

    1. “satanic deceiving spirit from hell”, that’s what it sounds like to me too. Why didn’t she “test the spirit” to see if it was from God, just like the Bible says we should do??

    2. How blinded you are.

If you watch these – you will wish you had been less judgmental.

You are wrong! Learn the truth please! Educate yourself and don’t condemn others as idolaters when you are becoming one yourself. You accept the mistakes of mere men, who failed to comprehend the teachings of the Church.
Luther was not a Saint – and neither will YOU be, until you stop behaving like miserable wretches and learn the TRUE teachings taught and handed down through Christ’s ONLY authenticated Church.

  1. You quote this statement

Tell me what is this source from and what year???

    1. 2 Cor. 11:14 “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14 NIV)”

      Source = New Testament

The Bible warns us that Satan masquerades as an angel of light. therefore, even though some men from long ago say Cecilia was guarded by some angel, it does not mean it is 1)true, and 2)an angel from God.

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1
      NIV).

      Blessings-

      1. I think the point of the Ceclia’s story is that she, along with many other early Christians, suffered persecution, torment and even execution rather than to deny their faith in God and their love for Jesus Christ. That certainly seems to be the ultimate true test.

      2. wonder how to test and make sure an angel appearing is really from GOD or not.
I would trust GOD that he would let me know somehow.

      3. Dear Sarah.

        Shalom.

If you have obeyed Jesus the Messiah, and been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you will be able to discern. With out the Holy Spirit reigning in your heart, you will be taken for a ride by religious spirits and demons.

  2. “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.”

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Gen 6)

“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment” (2 Peter 2:4).

“And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day” (Jude 6).

These verses reveal that angels abandoned their ‘proper abode’ and had intercourse with women. God’s judgment was to place them in bonds. The result of their union with women is Nephilim.

And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.

      1. And how do you know that this scipture is in connection with that document that happen almost 1600s????? The answer is that YOU DON’T KNOW and only assume such non-sense!!!

      2. Terry,

That you defend the Catholic church, will lead you to the wide gates of hell. The idolatry and lies knows no bounds. You need to repent before it’s too late. For the Word of God is very clear!

Romans 1:25 Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Revelation 9:20-21 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

  3. You people calling this satanic are arrogant ignoramuses. This story has nothing to do with sex between humans and angels. The angel was sent by God to preserve the saint’s virginity and to convert her husband to the faith. You have inherited some pietistic notion of protestantism and new interpretations of scripture and you believe that your presumptions are the true dogma?

  4. I don’t blame you for taking scandal at that item, but it is a falsification, typical of the anti-Catholics in the Catholic Church who run most of these sites. St. Cecilia never said that the angel was her “lover.” Such a thing according to true Catholicism would be sacrilegeious. The contradiction to her professed love of chastity should tell you that it is false. What she really said, taken from the writings of St. Alphonsus Liguori, a Bishop and Doctor of the Church who lived in the 18th century was: “Know, Valerian, that I am a Christian. From my infancy I have been consecrated to God, by dedicating to Him my virginity; and he has appointed an angel from Heaven to protect me from every insult. At thy peril, therefore, do not anything to me, by which you may exite the wrath of the Lord.” (Victories of the Martyrs, p. 184).

    1. How can you prove either quote as being true? That is why we are supposed to go only with the Bible, since only the Bible is the Word of God.

Catholicism in any generation, is a cult from satan that leads to hell, since works for salvation leads to hell (Galatians 1:6-9, Romans 4:5).

  5. I can prove that the quote I gave is true because it agrees with the nature of holiness (and Cecilia was holy, numerous miracles from God attest to this, as well as the Churches rigorous Canonization process) and what the Church has always taught, and because it comes from a saint and a doctor of the Church whose writings are carefully scrutinized by Church authorities before the approval of Canonization, and because the error quoted in the above article could only come from an enemy – a Freemason masquerading as a Catholic. All the antithetical changes in the Catholic Church since the 1960s are due to this cause.

Catholicism is the only true religion, outside of which there is no salvation. Galatians 1: 6-9 quoted by you above says: “But though we, or an angel from Heaven preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema.” (Ibid. 8). It is the Protestant religion that teaches the Bible alone and no works for salvation that is another gospel. Neither does Romans 4:5 rule out the necessity of works for salvation. St. Paul would not contradict St. Peter who said: “Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election.” (2 Peter 1: 10), nor would he contradict Jesus who said after enumerating a list of good works that are necessary for salvation: “Amen, I say to you, as long as you did it not to one of these least, neither did you do it to me. And these shall go into everlasting punishment: but the just, into life everlasting.” (Matt. 25: 45,46). 2 Peter also says of the epistles of St. Paul: “In which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and the unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.” (2 Peter 3: 16).

    1. Romans 4:5 says, no works for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says the same, and Titus 3:5 says the same. Hundreds of verses say it. Matthew 25 is not entrance to heaven for works, it is inheritance in heaven for works, rewards. Going to heaven cannot include works. Getting rewards in heaven, needs works. But you won’t be in heaven if you work to get there. Catholicism in all its forms, leads to eternal torment in the lake of fire.

  6. The quote from St. Alphonsus Liguori by Mary is consistent with the truth. If St. Cecilia had a moral defect like the one described in the article above, she would never have been a candidate for sainthood, nor would she have preferred death to sin or denial of Christ.

  7. Andy,
That you are saved by faith and not by works does not rule out works for salvation, because just down a little from Titus 3: 5 it says: “It is a faithful saying: and these things I will have thee affirm constantly: that they who believe in God, may be careful to excel in good works.” (Titus 3: 8). “With fear and trembling work out your salvation.” (Phillipians 2: 12). The Bible does not contradict itself, it is either your faulty understanding of it, or your erroneous version of the Bible. I quote from the Douay-Rheims Bible which is the true original first approved by Pope Innocent 1 in 405 and by Gelasius in 494 A.D.

    1. Works are to help others, and glorify the Lord. But they cannot be added to salvation (Romans 4:5). The two are separate. And all forms of catholicism are from satan.

    1. Dear Mary.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Roman Catholics mixes up justification and sanctification. The Pope has made a religion, that can not save.

I am justified by faith, alone. Only what Jesus have done for me on the cross, can save me. Only by the blood of Jesus I stand redeemed.

I am in a process of sanctification. I do good work, not to be saved, but because I am saved. I understand what Jesus has done for me, and I love Him. I do not realize that I do good work. Do not keep a record. I am a new being, ruled by The Holy Spirit of God.

Good works have become the deepest desire of my soul.

The guilt and punishment for my sins, were laid on the shoulders of the Lamb of God on the cross of Calvary, about 2,000 years ago.

The records of my sins were washed away by the blood of God the Son, once and for all. My sins are blotted out, and my name is forever written in the book of Life. Amen.

Finally, home in the Kingdom of Heaven, I shall get my reward. For all who believe, there is no other judgment day, than the day Jesus died on the cross. He will forever accept the judgment that I deserve. Amen.

  8. The Decree on Justification from the Council of Trent does not contradict any of Sacred Scripture as you have done in contradicting James 2: 24, it squares with it all.
In saying that “The Pope has made a religion that cannot save,” you do so on your own authority. The Papacy was founded by Jesus Christ (Matt. 16: 18), and guaranteed infallibility in matters of faith, and commissioned by Jesus Christ to speak in His name and with His authority, and so when the Papacy says that outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation: “He who hears you, hears Me.” (Luke 10: 16).

Decree On Justification, Ch. 7: “… The causes of this justification are: the final cause is the glory of God and of Christ and life everlasting, the efficient cause is the merciful God who “washes and sanctifies” (1 Cor. 6: 11) gratuitously, signing and anointing with “the holy Spirit of promise, who is the pledge of our inheritance” (Eph. 1: 13, 14), the meritorious cause is His most beloved only begotten, our Lord Jesus Christ, who, “when we were enemies,” (Rom. 5: 10) “for the exceeding charity wherewith He loved us,” (Eph. 2: 4) merited for us justification by His most holy passion on the wood of the cross and made satisfaction for us to God the Father, the instrumental cause is the sacrament of baptism, which is the sacrament of faith, without which no man was ever justified, finally, the single formal cause is the justice of God, not that by which He Himself is just, but that by which He makes us just, that, namely, with which we being endowed by Him, are “renewed in the spirit of our mind,” (Eph. 4: 23), and not only are we reputed but we are truly called and are just, receiving justice within us, each one according to his own measure, which the Holy Ghost distributed to everyone as He wills, 1 Cor. 12:11, and according to each ones disposition and co-operation. For though no-one can be just except except he to whom the merits of the passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ are communicated, yet this takes place in that justification of the sinner, when by the merits of the most holy passion, “the charity of God is poured forth by the Holy Ghost in the hearts” (Eom. 5: 5) of those who are justified and inheres to them; whence man through Jesus Christ, in whom he is ingrafted, receives that justification, together with the remission of sins, all these infused at the same time, namely, faith, hope and charity. For faith, unless hope and charity be added to it, neither unites man perfectly with Christ not makes him a living member of His body. For which reason it is most truly said that “faith without works is dead” (James 2: 17: 20) and of no profit, and “in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything not uncircumcision, but faith that works by charity.” (Gal. 5: 6, 6: 15)…”

    1. Mary

You said: In saying that “The Pope has made a religion that cannot save,” you do so on your own authority.

My comment: And as I read what you are saying, I shouldn’t sit hear surprised that someone could twist the Holy Word of God so much, in that you actually believe the nonsense you are spouting. The papacy filled with idols, lies, demons was never founded by Jesus. You do not understand the Word of God.

I honestly feel sad for you. Only the Jesus can save you, not a sinner like the pope, but then you heart is so hard and you spout such nonsense, that I’m truly afraid you’ll never believe it.

    2. Mary,
Salvation is NOT thru a church. Where didJesus ever say ‘Join my church, follow her infallible laws or you go to
hell’? Did Jesus say: ‘create traditions thru the years & if you don’t follow the one(s) created in the 12th or 20th century, you will go to hell’? The fullness of truth is in Jesus Himself. In Him alone. NOT in a church made up of ALL fallible men. Anyone who keeps their eyes and hearts fixated on customs and traditions and the teachings of men have ONLY that. Take that all away and there remains nothing. Instead give my heart to Jesus alone AND now I have it all!

  9. Kay,
Where Jesus said he founded a Church infallible in matters of faith that must be followed under pain of eternal damnation: “And if he will not hear them, tell the Church. And if he will not hear the Church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican.” (Matt. 18: 17). “Thou art Peter and upon this tock I will build My Church… And I will give to thee the keys to the kingdom of Heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth it shall be bound in Heaven… (Matt. 16: 18,19). “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words: going forth out of that house or city shake off the dust from your feet. Amen I say to you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.” (Matt. 10: 14,15). In the Gospel of St. John Jesus promised to send His Apostles the Spirit of truth to teach them all truth Jn. 14: 17 & 15: 13. In other words to give His Church the charism of infallibility. He also said to Peter who He appointed the first pope: “I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not.” (Luke 22: 32). How else other than by founding a Church could Jesus tell His Apostles to: “Going therefore, and teach all nations…” (Matt. 28: 19). By the words: “behold, I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.” (Ibid. 20), shows that the mission of the Apostles was not to end with their deaths, but as Paul’s letter to Timothy (1 Tim. 3:1) and to Titus 1: 5 shows, it was to be carried on until the end of time by successors ordained to their ministry.

    1. I wrote this under another post but it bears repeating here.

Matthew 16:18 DOES NOT mean that Christ was instituting the catholic religion. For why would Jesus tell us to follow such a thing as the papacy which is filled with idols, and lies?

The true meaning of Matthew 16:18 Jesus was not referring to Peter in that verse, but to Peter’s confession of faith in verse 16: “You are the Christ, the son of the living God.”

Jesus had never directly taught to Peter and the other disciples the fullness of His identity. God had sovereignly opened Peter’s eyes and revealed to him who Jesus really was. Peter’s confession of Christ as Messiah and Peter’s personal faith in Jesus, is what a true Christian would believe. Those who have placed their faith in Christ, as Peter did, are the church.

    2. Dear Mary,

I was catholic. I believed all of the above at one point. I placed my faith in apostolic succession. I placed my faith in Peter and his line. I believed that the spirit was with the bishops. I believed in ALL these teachings UNTIL I gave my heart to Jesus ALONE. NOW I know God’s Spirit in me (which never leaves my soul) and my faith is in Jesus alone. Not in history. Not in a church. Not in men & their “in other words” (like you quote) teachings. Not in anything but my savior, Jesus. Don’t you see when you write “in other words” that you are indeed writing another gospel? You are writing another interpretation that has been passed down. The devil is clever: get the eyes/heart on Peter to take it off our great Savior Jesus Christ.

      Kay

  10. Gloria,
The religion that Jesus instituted began to be called “Catholic” in the year 110 A.D. The papacy has no idols or lies.

In Matt. 16: 18, 19, how can you say that Jesus was not referring to Peter when Jesus said: “Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church… I will give to thee the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth, it shall be bound in Heaven.” The were not idle words. These words show that a special power and authority were being brought into being, since ordinary believers obviously do not have the power to bind anything on earth or in Heaven. Jesus said to Peter after Peters confession of faith: “flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven.” Therefore the following words show that Jesus knew from Peters profession that the Father in Heaven choose Peter for the primacy over the other Apostles and the Church. It is also obvious from the Apostles and the 72 that Jesus appointed to preach in his name, “giving them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases” (Luke 9: 1) telling them: “He who hears you, hears me” (Luke 10: 16) does not apply to ordinary believers, but only to those who he appointed to preach. Later we find St. Paul saying: “If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desires a good work,” (1 Tim. 3: 1), and: “ordain priests in every city, as I also appointed thee.” (Titus 1: 5). For 300 there was no Bible, but the Church was flourishing with pope, bishops and priests: “Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account for your souls.” (Hebrews 13: 17). That is a matter of historical record. That is where Sacred Tradition comes in. Sacred Tradition is not human customs, but the record of what the Church has always believed and done since long before Pope Damasus commissioned St. Jerome to compile the Bible. “Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.” (2 Thess. 2: 14).

    1. Mary,

Your comment: The papacy has no idols or lies.

My comment: Now who’s the liar? The papacy protects their men in robe, when they abuse children till this very day. They are liars who deceive everyone. As for the idols? Do you not bow down to a statue of Mary that can do nothing for you? Do you not follow a sinner like the pope and call him a “holy man”? Do you not kiss dead flesh, and pray for the “saints” who are already dead?

The answer till all that is yes, you do.

  11. Mary is just regurgitating Catholic propaganda. When she quotes 1 Timothy, why not quote in context.

1Ti 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
    1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
    1Ti 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
    1Ti 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
1Ti 3:5 For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

What bishop do you know has a wife or children? Typical Catholic twisting the scriptures and handling the Word of God deceitfully.

Augustine himself said that the confession of Peter was the rock, not Peter. He also said that Peter was the rock. He was a prime example of why we aren’t to put our trust in men, somethhing Catholics are quick to do.

  12. “Typical Catholic twisting the scriptures and handling the Word of God deceitfully.”

It is because they don’t believe the Bible. They believe the catholic satanic false religion.

  13. Shalom

Many typical Catholic have been brainwashed in the way that they can see the truth themselves but rather stick to what Yeshua himself condem placing Traditions above God’s word even when they read Holy Bible they don’t understand what’s written there

  14. Gloria,
The child sex abuse scandals happened because the Catholic Church structures were taken control of by Freemasonry. They flooded the priesthood with homosexuals, so that by the 1950s a good Catholic boy could not get into the priesthood in many places. An encyclical letter of Pope Leo XIII earlier in the century, before the infiltration of the Church, pointed out the fact that the enemies of the Church could find no fault with the priests or the religious orders at that time, because they were blameless.
I explained to you elsewhere that Catholics do not worship religious art. We pray to the saints who are in Heaven to ask them to pray for us, as you might ask your friend to pray for you. We also pray for the souls of the departed as it says in Scripture: “It is a holy and a wholesome thing to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins.” (2 Machabees 12: 46).You Protestants may not accept the Books Of Machabees, but they are nevertheless historical records of the practise of praying for the dead in the Jewish faith.

    dave1543,
I was not quoting 1 Tim. 3: 1 out of context. What I quoted was sufficient to make my point. In the days of the Apostles they ordained married men because most men of adult age were married. Clerical celibacy came from the example of Jesus Christ Himself, who remained all His life a virgin. St. John and St. Paul were also celibate: “For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one has his proper gift from God… But I say to the unmarried, and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue even as I.” (1 Cor. 7: 7,8). The priesthood of the New Testament was celibate from the beginning.

Peters name was originally Cephas or Simon. It was at that point that Jesus gave him the name Peter, which means rock, as St. Augustine whom you mention says: “… which Church the Apostle Peter, in virtue of the Primacy of his Apostolate… he was at once one and the first of the Apostles. But when the words were said to him… (he quotes Matt. 16: 19), he signified the universal Church, which is shaken in this world by storms, waves, and tempests of various temptations; and it does not fall because it is founded upon the rock, from which rock Peter took his name… Hence, then, the Lord says, “Upon this rock I will build My Church, because Peter has said to Him, “Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.” Christ was the rock upon which foundation Peter himself was builded up. The Church, therefore, which is founded on Christ, received from Him the keys of the kingdom of Heaven in Peters person – that is, the power to bind and unbind sins. That which the Church is properly in Christ, that Peter is typically in the rock.” (Sermon on St. Peter and St. John).

    1. Mary,

You said: The child sex abuse scandals happened because the Catholic Church structures were taken control of by Freemasonry.

My comment: That is a lie. The child sex abuse scandals have been going on for years behind closed doors. So you’d rather lie to justify it.

I won’t comment to you anymore Mary. This has been going on and on in circles with you chasing your own tail. Jesus tells us about hardened hearts, and how you would refused to listen.

Ephesians 4:18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

May Jesus touch your heart, so your eyes will be open, and you could leave this evil wicked demonic catholic religion.

      1. I don’t tell lies, because I don’t commit sins, and lies are sins. I know what I’m talking about, but you do not know what you are talking about. You and your friends believe what you do against all the evidence. That is not faith, that is hardness of heart. The Church was taken over by Freemasons and they flooded the priesthood with homosexuals, and that is what caused the child sex abuse scandals. All the changes in the Catholic Church in the past 60 years are due to that cause. You said, “I won’t comment to you anymore because this has been going on in circles.” I agree, and I have resolved to comment no more. This is my last comment.

      2. Dear Mary

The Church was taken over by Freemasons and they flooded the priesthood with homosexuals, and that is what caused the child sex abuse scandals. All the changes in the Catholic Church in the past 60 years are due to that cause.

        My comment:

I agree with you. But why stop 60 yeas back? The very foundation of the Roman Catholic Church is wrong. It is based on the Roman Emperor’s bid to take over the control of Christianity. It has failed. But today one billion people are living in bondage to this deceased and hypocritical religious system.

From the beginning there were Jews who believed that Jesus was the Messiah. Jews believing that Jesus is the Messiah is still with us today. They are following Messianic Judaism, and are not under the Papacy in Rome. I pray they never will.

Likewise faithful Baptist’s who reject the Roman Catholic doctrine of infant baptism, have never accepted the claimed authority of the Papacy. They have been persecuted badly by Rome, and many of them chose to die as martyr’s, refusing to accept the claimed Bishop of Rome.

  15. Hello Mary,

You may want to reexamine or reword this statement,

“The priesthood of the New Testament was celibate from the beginning.”

In the book, “The Apostolic Origins of Priestly Celibacy”, George T. Dennis a Jesuit scholar from Catholic University of America says,

“..”there is simply no clear evidence of a general tradition or practice, much less of an obligation, of priestly celibacy-continence before the beginning of the fourth century.”

Most people understand that an unmarried person can, and I would underline “can”, have a greater ability to serve the Lord but that doesn’t mean they will. Celibacy can bring greater temptations and people find themselves with more than they bargained for. Paul wrote,

“1Co 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.”

Priests and nuns are required to be celibate, with a few exceptions. The Bible doesn’t have the requirement of celibacy for clergy. I would say with a high level of confidence that if Catholic priests could marry you would see a lot of them doing so and avoiding many scandals.

  16. Mary,

    When you wrote,

“You Protestants may not accept the Books Of Machabees, but they are nevertheless historical records of the practise of praying for the dead in the Jewish faith.”

There were a lot of things the Jews did that weren’t right. Just because they did something in the Bible doesn’t mean it’s okay for us.

    1. Dear Dave 1543

      Shalom.

The matter of the Books Of Machabees, is that they are historical records. Not found by spirit filled Christians to be divinely inspired. The Holy Spirit is the author of the Bible, and the Holy spirit closed the Biblical Cannon, leaving the Books Of Machabees out.

The closure took place around 400 A.D.

I have accepted this authority of the Holy Spirit.

The Pope do not accept this authority of the Holy Spirit. The Pope re-opened the cannon around 1540 A.D. Among the books the Pope added, was Tobit. A book that promote witchcraft.

The Pope claims to be the “Holy Spirit”, the vicarius, or replacement for Jesus on the face of the Earth. So The Roman Catholic Pontiff feels he has the authority to do this.

The logic of those who claim traditions of men to be in equal authority with the Word of God, will lead you into a lot of errors. Like: Some Jews were praying for the dead, so it must be correct to do so. Or some Jews were making a gold calf in the desert of Sinai, so we can do the same.

      1. Dear Dave 1543

        Shalom, and love in Yeshua

Return to sender, love and grace. Let us keep on showing kindness to all, but stand up for the truth.

      2. Hello Ivar and friends,

My mother is in the hospital with a serious infection and not doing well. She will be 86 next month and after three operations is very weak and seems to be giving up. She isn’t speaking or eating so has had a feeding tube placed in her stomach.

Please remember her in your prayers. Her name is Evelyn. Lord bless you all. Thanks.

    2. Dear Dave,

I will pray for your Mom, and I hope she has accepted Jesus as her Messiah. That is the most important. God Bless you and Evelyn.

      Gloria

  17. Mary,

    You wrote,

“An encyclical letter of Pope Leo XIII earlier in the century, before the infiltration of the Church, pointed out the fact that the enemies of the Church could find no fault with the priests or the religious orders at that time, because they were blameless.”

Blameless? Did you forget about selling indulgences and relics, drunken priests, simony, and some of those popes like Sergius III, John XII, Benedict IX, Boniface VIII, Clement VI, Alexander VI, or Julius II and Julius III? New Advent can’t even clean up the mess some of these guys made.

  18. Ivarfjeld,
The books of the Bible listed in 1546 at the Council of Trent were the same as those accepted by the Council of Carthage in the 4th century. And the pope is not a replacement for Jesus Christ, he is the vicar of Christ, and the words of Christ apply to him: “He who hears you, hears Me.” (Luke 10: 16). But that only applies as long as he stays true to the teachings of the Bible and Apostolic Tradition. If he defects from these in his teaching then he ceases to be Catholic and Pope. (Popes who were sinners were still pope, but not popes who were heretics or apostates). That is the teaching of the Church.

    dave1543
The practices of the Jews such as the golden calf were condemned by God, however, the practise of praying for the dead is described as a “holy and wholesome” practice in the quote I gave above.

if you want the real facts on priestly celibacy, you can Google: “On Holy Virginity” by Pope Pius XII. Catholic sources after the 1960s are not reliable, as the above article on St. Cecilia shows. I gave the true quote of her real words above.

The abuses you named above occurred in the 16th century and they were corrected by the Council of Trent. As for the popes you mention, some few of them were sinners, but that is to be expected considering that the papacy was entrusted to men and not to angels. The line of David and the line of Aaron in the Old Testament also had sinners among them, but they were still the Divinely appointed authorities, as Jesus said: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on the chair of Moses. All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not, for they say and so not.” (Matt. 23: 2,3).

    1. Dear Mary

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

And the pope is not a replacement for Jesus Christ, he is the vicar of Christ.

      My comment:

When my worker is gone, and I am in need of vicar, he will be a replacement. No man can be the vicar of Jesus. There is only one “vicar of Christ” and that is the Holy Spirit.

It is repulsive and pure blasphemy to claim that a created man, can be the head of the global Church. Such a man is sinning against the Holy Spirit, a sin that can not be forgiven.

I can only have pity on the religious system of the Vatican. You have not accepted a spirit that can make you understand what I try to tell you. Curses are passed on from Catholic parents to their children. These curses needs to be broken. You need to renounce Catholicism, and get out of this religious system. I never said this would be easy, and it is impossible without the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said to Peter. You are Petrus (small stones). On this Petra (a massive rock, the Messiah Him self), I (The Messiah) will build My Church.

Jesus never said: On you Peter, I will build my Church.

Neither did the Messiah say: You Peter, will build my Church.

Rome makes a mockery out of the legacy of the Apostle Peter. A man who never was the Bishop of Rome, never wanted to become the head of the Church. A man who was married, called ‘Satan” by Jesus the Messiah. A man who was very much fallible, who was caught in hypocrisy by Paul, and who even renounced being a student of Jesus three times. A man who was saved by faith alone, by mercy alone, separated from works that can not save.

The “Petrine Theology” of Rome is based on religious fraud. It is a sure way towards eternity in Hell.

Remember that i loved you enough to warn you.

  19. Saint Cecilia stated that she is betrothed to her beloved LORD Jesus – In Catholicism, that is the beauty of virginity – to love the LORD.

  20. YOU ALL BELIEVE IN THE SAME THING!! JESUS CHRIST!
Stop arguing over semantics and trying to condemn each other to hell. Only Jesus knows our hearts and can judge whether we truly want to follow Him or not.
We are all human. No human is perfect. That is is why we must follow the perfection of Christ and try to do His will. But how do we follow? In prayer and supplication. But we are weak. So He set up His church here on earth for us to have support. It only makes sense that His church is the one that stems from Him when He walked the earth and passed down through His apostles. You may not want to hear this, but it IS the Traditional Catholic Church. NOT the Novus Ordo one of today, that since Vatican II, has made a steady decline towards Satan’s agenda. So in many ways you are ALL right. Mary, I detect that you ARE Traditional Catholic, just trying to defend Catholocism without dragging it through the mud. But fallen humans have done that. And there are fallen humans in every religion, so let’s not nitpick.
I was raised Protestant and became Catholic; Traditional Catholic. There are still plenty of us out here who are following God’s law in the true and correct way He meant it to be. Protestants have it half right in their faith and believing, but there is so much more. They pick and choose and leave a lot of stuff out to make it easier. It IS as simple as accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, BUT without the works(which you choose to do anyway because you love God), you are as a resounding cymbal. ” Not he who says Lord, Lord, but he who does the will of my Father…”
Gloria and Kay, you believe but are deceived into getting comfy in the warm fuzzy belief that all you have to do is believe. Idk, that’s just an opinion. Only God can judge.
I DO know we are all doing our best to do God’s will; and we all think WE are right and others are wrong.
I just know I am doing the best I can with the knowledge I have and the logic God gave me to follow Him the way He taught. It is our job to never stop studying, never stop searching for the truth that is
    “I AM”!

  21. Everyone, stop and look at what you’re doing. Do you think that God would approve this behavior of judging which religion is better- no. In reality when you die, no matter what religion you believed in, there will only be God himself. He does not discriminate. He just cares that you believed. Besides isn’t it his right to judge us and not ourselves? This is what the cause of many wars, hatred, and destruction in the world today is based on. People are pretending to be God and are damning others that do not follow their beliefs. everyone was created equal, therefore, no one should have any right to say that they are better then anyone else.

    1. Dear Nina.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

      My comment:

This is human thoughts. It has no value. What is a man, compared to his Creator God?

God has decided to reveal Him self to man. The revelation is written down in the Bible. Without this book, no man today would be able to know what has taken place in history. Like the creation, the flood, the exile of the Jews in Egypt, and the comming of the Messiah. No man would be able to express and explain, how a man can be saved from his own sins. We would all be lost.

The Bible exlains to us that God has giftet mankind a way to be saved. By faith he must accept Jesus of Nazareth as Lord and God. If we are not willing to come under His lordship, we are lost. For eternity.

  22. I have a lot to say, but the fact that you say the Roman Catholic Church is an occult clearly, in my opinion, leads me to believe that all other faits are of the occult as well.

  23. THE “FACT”! THAT HER BODY WAS FOUND INCORRUPTIBLE IS PROOF IN ITSELF… NEVER HEARD OF THIS “ANGEL LOVER”… FALSE

    1. Dear roxanne

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

THE “FACT”! THAT HER BODY WAS FOUND INCORRUPTIBLE IS PROOF IN ITSELF… NEVER HEARD OF THIS “ANGEL LOVER”… FALSE.

      My comment:

With this kind of logic: If anyone exhume and find an incorruptable corpse of a Buddhist, than Buddha is “god”.

  24. You know the person who owns this website and just spends time condemning human beings like him…. Can change it to a website that teaches people about God and the Gospel and teaches them about the love of God… That way IF what you’re saying is wrong, on the last day you wouldn’t be in trouble. FOR condemning people you didn’t create

  25. I will pray for your soul and pray for you to be enlightened. Maybe you are the one who’s into occultism that’s why you fabricate lies about the Saints who love Jesus so much (that they were martyred for their faith)
Santa Cecilia was an early Christian martyr. Research before you post something blasphemous. May God Bless you

    1. God bless you and Thank you Jude and Mary and all good Catholics who are faithful to Jesus in following and defending the church( the body of Christ) He built through St. Peter and have continued to this day. Even st.Peter and Paul and the subsequent apostles had problems with the church(the body of Christ) in their era but they have passed down the leadership of the one church that Jesus instituted to interpret His Word through all ages and “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” We pray and believe that the truth will be known to all on the last day and trust that all will be united in the truth as proclaimed by Jesus Christ.

  26. In the book The Incorruptables by Joan Carroll Cruz, she never states that Cecilia ever said the angel was jealous or a lover to her. She married Valerian and they were both martyred. They never had children and both lived holy lives. As for the use of the Gospel, I hope that you are reading the entirety of the scripture and not just “picking out” parts that suit your purpose. Any reasonable person knows that to understand a passage you should read the entire passage a few times.

  27. It is absolute TRUTH that St. Cecilia had Guardian Angel as lover even if many of you who write comments are proclaiming to be believers of Jesus Christ and God you are very judgemental and author of this post is judgemental too with judgemental mind set all of you not serving to will and unconditional love of Creator. Guardian angels holds unconditional Divine love for humans and that spiritual relationships is not restricted with rules or laws it is not sin or forbidden to have intimate relationships with Guardian Angel because they are in love with your soul and if you show them trust, respect and open up your heart they will establish intimate contact with you when time comes for that. There are no rules or law’s which restrict Divine love because it is only and most high law by its nature based on freedom and compassion.

  28. Its difficult to discuss the Catholic religion and all matters connected to it in a website that is totally anti-Catholic . There is a tone of aggression and resentment which does not help the desire to discover the truth in a charitable spirit.

  29. Ridiculous and hateful article. St. Cecilia’s comment about having an angel as a lover who guards her body was metaphorical. We all have guardian angels who love us, for the sake of God. Her angel “lover” guided her towards chastity, a virtue which has always been a virtue extolled by Christians and which was exemplified by Christ. Parents who love their children guard their bodies as well. Weird that the word “lover” to you only brings up images of carnal love. The following lyrics are from a Protestant hymn. Sounds like a “love affair” to me:

    “Jesus, lover of my soul
Jesus, I will never let You go
You’ve taken me from the miry clay
You’ve set my feet upon the rock
    And now I know
    I love you
    I need you
    Though my world may fall
    I’ll never let You go

  30. Your article is bias, subjective, and unsubstantiated. Just because you never made a vow of chastity or you are not chaste does not mean other people can’t do it. She led a holy life and made a vow to abstain from sex, just like millions of other people have done in the past. Your article is trying to twist good into evil. You are seeing evil where there is no evil. “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

  31. Typical to condemn Church beliefs without even asking for clarification of things that don’t make sense. No better than the Pharisees who belittled and condemned the Lord Jesus himself by interpreting things themselves according to the Torah, and refusing to believe in Him.
You are, quite literally, no different than those who condemned Christ for blasphemy.
