Military holds war games aimed at preparing forces for all-out war against Hezbollah, Syria, Hamas; exercise did not include soldiers, live-fire.
In the face of a changing Middle East, the IDF held a set of war games this week aimed at preparing the military for all-out war against Hezbollah, Syria and Hamas.
The exercise did not include soldiers or live-fire exercises, but was held to drill commanders and their decisions in the event of a large-scale war on multiple fronts.
The exercise was the first overseen by new Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz. It was organized by Maj.-Gen. Gershon Hacohen, head of the IDF Colleges.
The IDF stressed that the drill was part of the military’s routine exercise program and included all of its various branches – ground, air and navy – with an emphasis on interoperability and operational continuity.
“The drill is part of our need to retain a level of readiness,” Gantz said.
Hacohen said the exercise was meant to prepare the IDF for a future war in light of the recent changes in the region.
“The IDF is utilizing this opportunity to drill itself and to formulate new understandings,” he said.

Israel has already survived three all out wars in the Middle East.
In 1948, all the Arabian neighbors of Israel attacked her at her very birth. The purpose was not to confine the Jewish state within “the 1967 borders”, but to complete delete the Jewish homeland project.
The 1967 war as a planned second bid to destroy the Jewish statehood. Egypt was controlling the Gaza strip, and did not plan to fight to protect Gaza, but to enlarge the area controlled by Islam.
Jordan was occupying East Jerusalem, and the 1967 war was not about establishing a “Palestine state” with East Jerusalem as its capital. Jordan wanted to capture West Jerusalem for “allah”, and rob the Jewish statehood for its entire capital.
Syria was holding the Golan in 1967, and was not attacking Israel in a bid to hold these areas. The Syrian army was planning to take the whole Galilee, and make it impossible for the Jewish state to survive.
The 1973 war was another Pan-Arabian attack on Israel. The Egyptian war planes did not try to Liberate Gaza to create a “Palestinian state”. The Egyptian bombs fell on the suburbs of Tel Aviv on Yom Kippur, the Holiest day within Judaism. The Arabs attacked Israel on a day she could be taken completely off guard, when hardly any Israeli soldiers was on duty.
Israel has indeed been able to survive multiple pan-Arabian attacks. Again the IDF see Israel surrounded by hostile armies, that might launch a joint attack as we speak.
The leadership in Israel do not fully understand that the last coordinated attack, will be so powerful that the Jewish state will face termination. All nations will go against her, and create panic and despair.
