Men like Mike Murdock exists to make a buck off anyone who care to believe in the lies spewing from his mouth.
The amount of false prophets wielding their own twist on the Word of God is astounding.
Mike Murdock promises 3-months of miracles and uncommon blessing to those who give the $1,000 seed. Murdock believes in 7 laws, that is his 7 laws. They are: law of difference, law of the mind, law of recognition, law of 2, law of place, law of honor, and law of seed.
What do you need to expose Mike Murdock as a false prophet? Just one thing; the Holy Word of God. Let’s compare just some of Murdock’s lies to the Bible.
1. The law of seed: Murdock says: “Our offerings to God are seeds that produce a harvest. There are many types of seeds in our life. Honor is the seed for access, kindness is a seed, time is a seed, love is a seed, teaching is a seed, giving is a seed. This law is to work in the financial arena as well.”
My Comment:
Listed on Murdock’s websites are comments from people who believe in Murdock’s law of seed. Sandra of Tulsa OK says:
“ When I was at your meeting in Dallas, I planted a $58 Seed. In 58 days, I received a receipt stating that my rent was paid in full throughout the lease of six months. Looking forward to seeing you.”
Murdock is filled with deception, and leads many people into the wide gate.
To give an offering and to expect something in return is not giving you’re your heart. Financial gain is nothing, if you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.
The Word of God is the standard Christ wants us to live by. Jesus Christ has always provided me with the basics, and as long as I have my Savior, I am content with my lot in life. I expect no monetary gain in return.
1 Timothy 6:6-10
Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
2. The law of place: Murdock says:
“Where you are is as important as what you are. Jesus, who had to leave his hometown and preach elsewhere to be recognized. When you are where you belong, your genius emerges. So it behooves us to consider whether we are where we need to be, and if not, where is that place.”
My Comment:
This remark of Jesus is completely blasphemous and a complete lie.
To even suggest that Jesus left to be “recognized” is the same as saying Jesus is vain. Murdock has a lot to answer for when he stands in front of Jesus Christ someday soon.
The truth is Jesus Christ left Nazareth, when he heard that John had been put in prison. Matthew 4 tells us that from around that time Jesus began to preach, saying: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
My advice to Murdock would be the same as My Savior’s. Repent, for Christ is coming very soon, and the bible tells us that, “Every knee shall bow and confess to God.”

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.

I am sure you have the best of intentions, but who are you to judge whether Mike Murdock, or anybody else for that matter, is right or wrong in his beliefs? There is a judgement coming for all of us, coming from someone who is infinately more qualified to pass judgement than you are. It is a proven fact that no two people understand the Bible in exactly the same way. That is why there are many different types of religion based on the Bible.
There is a country song that says that if you don’t stand up for something, you will fall for anything. As long as a person believes in something, even if its different from what you believe, good things can come out of it. Religion in general gives a person a specific something to believe, and that is what every human needs. Miracles can happen if somebody, somewhere believes that they can. I have seen it happen many times.

I agree with Lewis. Murdock brings understanding to scripture, practicality, like Rick Warren and Andy Stanley do for me. I minister to 1,000’s of people and when I read articles like this I wonder to myself “why does someone desire to stir up so much dissension?” That is far worse than your attempt to weed out false teaching. I have listened to 100’s of Murdock talks – so has my wife who is very discerning and they are all super helpful in helping us live out Gods will and enjoy Gods word more richly. BTW, as an ordained minister your examples refuting Murdock are pretty weak IMO. Like refuting what Murdock says about not being honored in your hometown and leaving to reveal your Genius. My comment: Anyone who proclaims he is a “man of god” and then hold his hand out for money, is a liar. It’s plain and simple fact. I don’t judge him, because that is what God will do to each of us. But we who follow Christ, are we allowed to just sit there and not tell others that this man only wants financial gain?

Lewis, I concur. Some people will only use the law of sowing and reaping in every other aspect of their life OTHER THAN finances. We’re living in different times but the same God has promised to supply whatever needs we have in order that His destiny might be fulfilled. Sorry but you are wrong. The word says to give and it shall be given. It does not matter if I give to a person of wealth or poverty. My heart gave understanding God’s principle of sowing and reaping. Wicca is not mentioned here but only by you. God understands the law of sowing and reaping whether your lost or saved. I gave to a network not Mike Murdock personally. He does not need the money cause he is an author and his books pay for his life, livelihood and wealthy lifestyle. He should have the best and he worked hard to get it in my opinion and YES this is the first time I have given to the inspirational network. Will it be the last, probably not. Sow your seed into a local church or charity. Why Mr Murdock? He came to one of those mega faith profits church here is Missouri back in the late 1990’s. Same exact amount $58. I like all the rest of the thousands gave the $58. He then talked many into giving the Pastor and His wife $500 checks that were not tax free so the Pastor and his wife could continue raising their thoroughbred horses on their horse ranch. This Pastor had paid guards around him even while on the Pulpit. The Pastor still thinks he is above actually conversing with his congregation up close and personal. You would not believe how many people ran down to the alter to give the pastor all the nondeductible $500 checks. I believe he is a Hawker for cash. A salesman so to speak of bull. I am not judging him. I stopped going to that mega church after that day. He spewed his greed at 4 more services. Who does he worship? Is it Green perhaps? No judging just questioning. Research his life style. Jesus did not preach about give so you can get.

I was deceived by Mike Murdock I even gave a seed offering to him of $7000 and more, he sent me books etc… and he invited me to a meeting in Tampa fl just 2 hrs away from me. I was having a hard time and my home was about to be foreclosed on. But I went led by the Holy Spirit, After I arrived at a very nice hotel. Went into the meeting where there was doctors, lawyers etc.. waiting to hear Mike Murdock. So when he came and sat down he went in on money and he wanted a $1,000 pledge seed offerring from each one of us. I WAS JUSTING THINKING I’m HERE FOR HELP YE T YOU WANT MONEY; THAN THE HOLYSPIRIT SPOKE THRU MIKE MURDOCK; HE SAID SOMEONE NEEDS MONEY FOR THEIR HOME RIGHT NOW. I listened waiting to see if he would do the right thing. He just went on talking about money; I thought hear God was telling him to help me and the only thing he thought of was his pockets after already receiving a lot of my tithes and offering unto GOD yet he didn’t care about my situation and the Lord told him yet he turned a deaf ear and a willful blind eye. After that I went home and destroyed all the books and etc.. that I had received from Mike Murdock and I never gave a cent to him again. I went before God with my anger and complaints. God just wanted me to know that mike Murdock was a fake and not to give him another cent on the behalf of God. Around 8 month later I sold my home and I got from God 3 times as much for the home and I was out of that situation. God remembered my faith and tithes and free will offerrings; but mike Murdock will have to answer for his thieving unrighteous ways; for he heard the cries of the poor and the afflicted and didn’t rescue me; But robbed me because I was poor and afflicted me because I was afflicted; But the Lord Of Hosts shall take up my cause and take the lives of all those who have robbed me and afflicted me; it is written . And Mike Murdock WILL BE DEALT WITH FULL STRIPES HIM AND HIS FOLLLOWERS.ALL WORTHLESS SHEPARDS AND FALSE PROPHETS WILL ANSWER FOR THEIR WILLFUL EVIL FALSE WAYS AND SHALL BE DEALTH WITH FULL STRIPES AND CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.

Everyone here is crazy. Whether you are for or against Murdoch hardly makes a difference. Both sides are insane. Mr. Murdoch is the only one who has any brains out of the whole lot of you. He has half of all your money. The rest of you just give yours to another crackpot. Try giving your money to the United Way or another reputable charity that actually HELPS people who are less fortunate than you are without expecting anything in return. That is the type of giving that actually makes a difference and feels good at the same time. So just keep your money if you are giving expecting more in return. Our tithes and offering become a seed. Proof that we trust God for our Daily Bread. When we trust God for something who are we not to expect it. Without expectation what kind of Faith is that. Gods people need Supernatural healing in their finances. People who come to God through his Son Jesus that have been operating in loads of Debt and feel a real conviction to get out of that Debt and someone shares a scripture that says Give and it shall be given to you, pressed down and shaken together shall men pour into your bosom- that person decides to give into that ministry believing that Gods Word is true- who are we to dispute Gods Word. Just because some people are OK with being Broke does that mean that Gods Word becomes a lie. I just found an envelope on my desk from a gentleman going to Bulgaria to preach the gospel and build homes for the poor. I want to be a part of that Harvest knowing I cant go. So what do I do, I reach in my wallet where my seed is and plant that seed in his trip to Bulgaria. So am I to expect nothing!!!! I declare every Word in the Bible to be True, not just what I want to be true. Gloria you are right, we brought nothing into this World and we will take nothing out but between coming in and going out there is alot we need to accomplish, treasure to be laid up in Heaven, Souls to be won. I tell you Lewis, that I know of a Pastor, who is a poor man, and he went to a country and preached the Word of God. A blind man who had been blind from infancy said: Heal me. The Pastor said: Do you believe in Jesus? The blind man said: If you believe, then yes. In the name of Jesus Christ, Lewis this blind man was healed and could see. There was no money exchanged, no “seed” exchanged, just faith in the Word of God.

As best I can tell — Murdock is (at bare minimum) spending much money on his internet appearance. Additionally, he seems to be working to secure his most powerful allies and those who are his best supporters. I am interested to see what he does next.
I am sure he (and others) are not comfortable right now. This is for two reasons.
1) I am not one to back down and I am not praying for favor (I am praying for nothing less than the will of the Lord in my decisions).
2) Perhaps equally as dangerous — What I have to say is not just shocking — it is true.

There is now unlimited deceptions on this station, who carries the name of “god” but deletes the messages from Biblical Jesus and spread falsehood. I watch this station to see how bad things have become, to see who close we are to the reign of antichrist. His spirit is already coming into your living room, if you accept this kind of false anointing.

I wanted to share that about 10 years ago i stop watching christian television because they would start a message and interrupt it and ask the viewer to pay through credit cards if they wanted to finish watching the message. i am a believer of God, i not only go to church but strive to be a good christian in my everyday life. couple of weeks ago, i decided to watch televangelistic programs once again and i found Dr. Murdock preaching about wisdom. i really found his message to be instructive and i follow to the end until when he started asking for the $1000 seed, i have to say i felt tempted to call, but then i saw this pressure that he continued to say “go, go ,go hurry up, get to the phone, right now, don’t miss this opportunity” and he kept rushing viewers to get to the phone to make the seed, it really looked like an informercial instead. i belive in the power of given YES we should give to the needy, but God also said we should give with our heart when we give we should be happy but Murdock contradicts this, he said that when we give we dont feel good about it. Well we cannot contradict Gods word God said if we give and we are not happy he tells that we should take our gift back because he will NOT bless anything that dont come from our hearts, therefore we will be giving in vain.

I am the son of a Baptist Minister, God rest his soul, and from the time I was old enough to understand, I watched him struggle with the finances of the church. Ministers of any kind have more overhead than you have considered, and when God blesses them with material things, small or large, a true believer of the scripture will be happy for him to have them. A minister is your conduit, your direct access to God. He brings you the truth, and tells you what God directs him to tell you. Don’t shoot the messenger! Use that brain for more than a hatrack! You will do well to keep your words sweet, because you may be eating them sooner than you know!

Have Jesus promised 30,60 and 100 times return on money given to any of his students?

You should rather be concerned about how you spend your own money. Do you obey what Jesus command from His students?
I must in a similar way, be concerned about how I spend the money Jesus have put me as a caretaker of. And the full NTM-team have to think likewise.
Jesus do not permit us to waist money, nor to neglect the poor. If we store up riches on Earth, we will face the same problem as a camel who tries to make it through the eye of the needle. That is obviously very close to impossible.

However, it is good that after one is brought to the Lord they get more knowledgeable and can spot the falseness. Mike Murdock is selling the free blessings of God for cash dollars. Jesus paid in full for our daily grace and blessings on the Cross. Mike Murdock has no authority to sell the free gift of God’s daily blessings. I wish Jesus would kick the Merchants out again like he did in the New Testament Gospel of John. Mike Murdock fools bible illiterates who fail to understand their New Covenant of Grace.
I don’t believe for a minute that God’s best is poverty for His children. I do believe that we don’t have to make a “ritual” out of getting our needs met from our Heavenly Father. There is no process or program, we need to walk humbly, love mercy and do rightly and we’ll be fine. Rich is a relative term. Each one of us comes from a different perspective and wealth is defined by that perspective. Prosperity is another thing, we are told we will prosper, be in health even as our souls prosper…amen. We, as the body of Christ, must be content with what we have and share as much of what we have with those who are in need and those who are preaching Christ crucified, dead and coming again. We must work while it is day for the night is coming. His sheep hear His voice and unless I hear to the contrary and I have something I can share, I do cheerfully and know that He will do what He has to meet my needs. I try to keep it simple, God blesses us, blessings we can expect from a loving parent; and we continue by blessing others, so forth and so on. I am 66 years old and have never missed a meal because of lack, never left homeless, never had to sleep in a frigid room or on a cold floor, and have never seen my family suffer the same. I trust that my Father God takes care of me and my family just like my earthly father took care of his family. I didn’t have to beg my earthly father to go to work so we wouldn’t starve or lose our place of abode. It was understood by us children that our father loved us, was responsible and trustworthy and we never gave that a second thought. How much more does our Heavenly Father love us, His children. “… I have never seen the righteous forsaken or God’s chosen begging bread…” Please my brothers and sisters keep your eyes on the Lord and work unto Him. Trust in the Lord, He is faithful to us even when we are not faithful.
Paul identifies false teachers as those who deny the sacrifice and person of Jesus. As far as I can tell, Mike preaches those like Paul. So you don’t like his teaching. Does that make him a false teacher??
I think if one denies Jesus as Lord that can be a false ______. (Insert word here) if one teaches something else then he is a false teacher. If one prophesies against God’s Word, he is a false prophet. If Murdock preaches Jesus is Lord, he is likely not a false preacher either. But he can teach unbiblical things that need to be addressed. It is not judging his soul but judging his actions and words against the bible. I dont think. This is an issue of dislike but unbiblical teaching. If Murdock was focused on Jesus he would not bother to preach or mention money except to give locally to a person in need.
When you feel like you have to “sow a seed” to receive a miracle, you have been milsed. So miracles are up for sale now? If only you send Mike Murdock 1000 dollars? What did the blind man give Jesus? How about the lame man? What about Lazarus? Did they sow a 1000 dollar seed (to Mike Murdock)? The only thing Jesus wanted was faith and trust in him.
How did those people receive a miracle from Jesus when Mike Murdock hasn’t even been born yet? How did those people receive their miracle when they couldn’t hurry to the phone to “sow a 1000 dollar seed”?
I have to admit, i have fallen prey to these parasites and have turned away from christianity because of all of these false prophets. The bible warns us of many false prophets, yet I just can not stomach it. I believe in Jesus, but all this christianity is a scam.

he really is a good preacher but i beleive those who dont know God with their heart will become frustrated because of their EXPECTATION blessing from God. you’re suppose to give with YOUR heart People! not because some preacher says that you will get blessings harvested. thats the main reason why a lot of people will give anyway, to recieve their expectant blessing of wealth or a big inherit of money. sad.

But I do not like the spirit of accusing another servant of being a false prophet simply because he teaches people about money. Jesus talked about money a lot. He talked about it more than prayer. We are to make money our servant and not to serve money or the spirit of Mammon. Mike Murdoch’s revelations are based on godly wisdom and personal experience in his walk with GOD. Who are we to judge him? If we want to gain real discernment, we have to crucify our instincts to judge.

How come so many Christians say not to judge? Have you not read all of Matt 7? It does not end with “Do not judge.” Read the whole chapter. Gloria and Ivar point out the teaching of give to get is unbiblical. That is not judging his soul. In fact you accusing anyone of judging is judging itself….just like i just did with you. We all judge and we must make sure it is always judging the act or words against the Word of God and not the person’s soul.

I’m not defending Mike Murdock. I have personally taken issue with many of his teachings over the years. I simply asked a question about receiving donations. I do, however, think the Murdock is an extremely intelligent man. Some of his quotes are very inspirational. Although, I’m not a subscriber to the prosperity gospel so that’s where I part ways with him. And quite frankly, I’m not too sure about his doctrine because I just haven’t followed him over the years. God bless.

What’s wrong with donations? Jesus told the disciples to rely on donations because a workman is worth his wages. I’ve also seen a part where the Apostle Paul commands that anyone who preaches the gospel should make his living from it, but I can’t find it again. Though they didnt seem to keep much more than they needed.
Making a buck preaching a false gospel would be another story, or getting filthy rich off it.
1 cor 9:14 “In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.”

The church I attend does receive tilthe, and has been used in the past to feed the poor, send money and clothing to poor countries, pay electric bills and such to run the church.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
If you come to wear I live, you can very well see the church I attend is a one story “old fashioned” building, and even with it’s meager furnishings, we all go over to praise the Word of God. It is not used to buy cars, pay “Benny Hinn’s, Mike Murdock’s” rent, and vacations.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

I would advise you to read beyond Matt 7:1 and see that the Word of God tells us how to judge properly! Why do so many Christians tell other Christians not to judge? Support for a missionary is much different than paying for luxury.
3 John tells us to not allow a false prophet into our house so several years ago I banned the viewing of any Prosperity preacher in my house and it has been refreshing. They cause one’s spirit to be in turmoil with grief due to their twisting of the word of God. Remember the devil uses the word of God but twist it to suit his own evil ends. There is a evil spirit associated with such teachings and people become under its guise when they fall into the trap. It’s a bondage where the curse is place on your lack of “seed faith” instead the cross of Jesus, who became a curse for us. The cross is where we need to turn for all the blessings and gifts of God freely given in Christ! I will say also that while I am not well known and just a simple man of God, I would not trade places with Michael Murdock on the day of judgment for all the money in the world. We have local “ministers/pastors/brothers” here who use the same “technique” in teaching about the Word of God- that by turning to God, all financial (and other) problems will disappear. True, God can do this but why are these “preachers” focusing on the worldly needs instead of giving more importance to the salvation of the soul? To top it all, one preacher lives in an exclusive village and owns plenty of expensive cars and high value properties!?!?! (he defends his riches by saying that his family was already rich when he started the ministry). But really, why do you need to stay at pricey hotels and go around in fancy cars? Most important of all, have you noticed that most if not all of these tv “preachers” are very much unlike the apostles and disciples who lived simply?!?!?!.

It is sad you see when one becomes a Pharisee, and as far as I can see there are nothing but a bunch of Sadducees here. True we are to use our God given powers of discernment. We are to judge right and wrong; even here on Earth. But Christ warned against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
These groups of men bickered about the points of law and the letters of law, but missed the spirit of the law. Which was to unite us with God. Worse yet they missed the Freedom Christ gave us from the law. Through His sacrifice Christ freed us from damnation . The Damnation that was rightly ours when we broke Gods law.
Paul wrote that all things are permissible for me, but not all things are profitable. Arguing points of law is simply a waste of time (and possibly a sin of the Sadducees and Pharisees) as we are free from the burden of the law.
I have been a Christian my whole life and have been to many Christian churches and through many denominations thereof. In every denomination there has been a box in which Christ was kept. These denominations would say God allows everything in this box, and everything outside of the box is a sin. they would say, “We only allow what is in this box.” Some boxes where bigger than other boxes, but all had a box.
I am here to tell you that God is bigger than the Box you have been keeping Him in. He allows more than you think and He hates things that you think He likes. But He loves you and will allow you (us) our boxes in which we are comfortable with Him. Even I have a box from within which I understand God. I am uncomfortable outside of my box. Yet God is bigger and greater than my box.
Arguing points of law does not edify the body. It does not build up. It does not unite members of Christ family. Arguing points of law divide. Arguing tares down, throws down, and binds the mind of the bickerer It causes the bickerer to miss out on the freedom given in and through Christ.
And why do we argue? To show much more we know than others? To make ourselves look good to others. Do we think that God is proud of us when we rip apart another believer’s box. You argue and say, “You cannot have God in that box. It’s not my Box. Mine is the only box that is true”
Shame on you! You should build one another up. You should find places where your boxes overlap. You should rejoice that your brother or sister has a box of their own and God is in it.
If you wish to live in a box without money, then I say good for you. If you choose to live in a box where God no longer provides miracles, okay. If you want a box where women cannot speak up in church, (this is Biblical) then I say it’s your box. enjoy it. But me, I am uncomfortable in a box without money, and I am uncomfortable with an indifferent god. In my box God cares, God provides, God heals, and God forgives. My God is the Love that He says He is. In my box Christians are not called to be poppers, unable to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, or shelter the homeless. In my box Christians are not unable to lend freely, as God has commanded. in my box God offers success.
Enjoy your boxes and enjoy the freedom of Christ, and my God bless you as you and your box are able to allow Him.
And instead of speaking of this “box” you should speak of how Christ can save, if we only believe in HIM soley. The fact that Mike Murdock and his followers believe in Him and the money he can alledgely bring to him, is a lie.

Does ANYONE know where Murdock received his TRUE and LEGITIMATE PhD? IF he has been presented with an “honorary” doctorate, that does NOT afford him the privilege of referring to himself as “Dr.” That goes for Coontz as well. And frankly, ANY evangelist or “preacher” referring to themself as “Dr.” without having completed the required number of hours, attending an accredited university or graduate school, completing a dissertation, and successfully presenting a “verbal” and “convincing” report (for lack of a better term) to a group of instructors at the PhD level is simply still “Mr.”, “Miss”, “Mrs.” … but NOT “Dr.”. Ple-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ase!

I’ve done this several times, read the Bible from Gen 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. It doesn’t take that long, if you really want to do it. This would be a big task for some people because they don’t want to read much anyway, they’d rather let the preacher do it for them and let him tell them what it says. The problem is that is all they have, what the preacher told them.

This is what I believe and think, if God is responding to planting seeds of faith (which I believe he does) like $58 then why does the $58 have go to Mike Murdock or anyone doing the same thing? Why not send the money to your church or to a Christ Centered Homeless Shelter for the hungry & the sick? Or maybe to a Christ centered unwed Mother’s home? etc. The $58 or whatever amount the seed would still be going to the Lord’s work and you would be blessed.

I once had a dream which was completely unrelated to the thoughts and activities of my day and those with which I went sleep. In the dream I saw Rod Parsley and I was shown that he and other ministers like him (prosperity teachers) were seen by God in a way that they were grouped as by genera and species, like they were animals. I was shown that all such ministers were false teachers and that they were not to be believed in any way whatsoever. I awoke from that dream thinking how odd. But still it is obvious to any rational person that such ministers are robbers and thieves, that the Lord was referring to when he said: Joh_10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

But in the example you cited above, Murdock was not lying; What he probably meant to say is Jesus was not recognize as the Son of God in His own hometown… Jesus did not seek recognition…replace that word with “believers. Read Matt 13:53 “And it came about that when Jesus had finished these parables He departed from there. And coming to His hometown He began teaching them in their synagogue so that they became astonished and said, ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? I remember one of the televison “plant your seed” types come up with this jewel and I will have to paraprase a little. “…..God does not need your $80, or $800 or $8,000……in fact I doubt if you could buy God’s favor for $80,000”. Yep that’s pretty much what he said.

I just watched a Murdock “performance” online and my spirit felt hardened by the sinful deception. He said that the only way to be successful before God is to follow his 7 principles. He went on to say that if you hold on to the $1000 that he was asking for than you are being rebellion before God. Everyone who is defending Murdock let me ask:, am I guilty of rebelling against God because I didn’t give $1000 to his ministry?
?? If you know you are doing right before God, Why then ask the ones you ‘also know’ who are doing wrong before God if you are doing before God? That don’t make sense to me. they are misguided and deceived, as we all were at one time, but for you to ask the counsel of the ones doing and following the wicked is not wise brother.

I watched Mike Murdock for the first time late last night. It was going pretty logically, until he started begging for $58.00. I was pretty shocked. Jesus delivered the word of God without asking for $58.00. He received alms. Christ didn’t ask for a minimum amount, it was whatever a person chose to give. Christ didn’t make promises to alms givers about what they would gain for supporting his ministry.
Mike Murdoch is a phony. He’s greedy. If you look up the Forth Worth Star-Telegram, USA, December 15, 2004 article and investigative report on what he owns and how little he donates to the needy, you’ll soon see how generous and compassionate this charlatan is. He doesn’t practice the word of God. He glorifies filthy lucre.
Sending money to Murdock and expecting a financial “miralce” is not selfless giving. It’s more like visualization, which may also work through the power of your own mind and mental projection. It’s actually more a principle of Wicca, truth be known. To each their own.
I believe that the selfless performance of random acts of kindness is more likely to result in good fortune, as we do reap what we sow. I believe that showing kindness, tolerance and compassion to other people and animals is preferable to sending a rich man more money.
It’s almost Christmas time. That $58.00 or $1,000 “seed” would do more good in the world by donating it to a food bank or paying a the electric bill for an elderly person or a single mother. Or buy and wrap some presents for a toy drive for underprivileged kids.
Murdock has enough money. He doesn’t need more. It’s interesting how people who are sending him cash and have bought into his “game” aren’t easily convinced otherwise. In the words of the late Hunter S. Thompson (a heathen), “Buy the ticket, take the ride.”
Although i totally agree with the fact that he is a total scam artist and that giving to your local food banks, a single parent or poor family, or possibly a veteran is a great idea; I disagree with your comment on Wicca. Unless you can back that statement up, i think it’s totally unfair. Not one Wiccan i have met would turn you down if you asked for help and had no money. This guy isn’t doing that. I have watched and listened to him many times and have caught comments about his many cars (and not cheap ones!) and his rich lifestyle and it makes me sick! That is all this guy cares about. A true prophet of God would ask you to help your ‘brother’ (people in your community or in a disaster area) not send me money, send me money, send me more money!! How can people be sucked into this is beyond me! Giving of one’s self or helping someone who is down is sooo more important than giving man who has an over abundance of everything! I don’t recall Jesus preaching while wearing expensive suits, watches and driving his expensive car to his mansion…or one of!! Is he gonna give you help when your money is gone? Nope! Will he come visit you when you’re sitting (incapable of movement) in your home or a retirement center? Nope! But you can bet that those notices for just a few more ‘seeds’ and your miracle harvest is on its way! !! My advice to y’all defending him here…give that money to your local shelter or food bank and go by one day to see the faces of those you have helped! THAT’S your harvest…i promise you 🙂 Bet you follow this man you put your faith in (instead of God which you know is a sin) and you will never catch him doing anything but enjoying his money. Satan is a master of deceit and how do you know God is not using Mike and that the problem is we as believers have a problem with others in the Lord prospering or mentioning God wants us to prosper? I would rather prosper in the Lord and have more than enough to bless others with than to be broke busted and disgusted. You can call Mike Murdock anything you want and that is your choice. Yes, Mike is way out there on things he say’s but look who he is connected to.

It is sad that so many of you are interpreting Luke 6:37, 38 to be a proof regarding sowing and reaping. All of you are in error!
This is not talking about giving money. It is talking about judging other people. If you will keep your interpretation in context, you will see that. The verses from 36 through the 42nd. verse refer to this subject of judgmentalism. Basically, what Luke records from the words of Jesus are “If you judge others, you will be judged accordingly; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” Verse 36 says that we are to be merciful. If we give mercy and forgive others, God will see to it that people will be merciful and forgive us in good measure, pressed down, etc.

I don’t have much use for Mike Murdock, I encourage everyone to read the story of George Mueller the 19th century paster in England. He raised more than 10,000 orphans, never once asked for a seed faith. Many times food, supplies or money came at the last minute. He just prayed and waited on God. Its a story of a real man of faith, no one but God knew his needs.
Good point Larry. The Word teaches us to give in secret in other words not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. Didn’t Jesus tell the rich man to sell his belongings and give to the poor? I don’t have much financially and I really don’t care. If I have Jesus I have it all. Things are getting very tough and according to the Word will only get tougher. I’d rather prepare spiritually now and store up blessings in heaven where they will be eternally and do it tough down here for a short time. I will trust God to provide for me and my family. Jesus also said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:24).
Mike Murdock is a fraud. I am not giving my opinion. I am speaking from first hand knowledge! I worked at his ministry if you want to call it that. I know how his whole scam and how it works. I also know that Trey is telling the truth about Mike. And its worse than Trey even knows. This man is sick and perverted. And every one of you that posted favorable comments about Mike are so lost and deceived. May God help you see the truth and soon.
I pray that Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of God will clearly, powerfully and lovingly guide us all in regards towards these “word-faith-seed-greed-money harvesters”. I think they and many who believe and who follow Murdock and Coontz may be so blinded and deluded by the overwhelming lust for money, power and material gain they have lost the genuine love and faith for God and our “brothers/sisters” Jesus tells us about.
Paying cash for one, then another even larger more expensive jet Murdock “wants/needs” is vile as I see it. Do you see he is rubbing our faces in it? Do you want what he has or do you desire with all your mind, heart, strength and soul what Jesus Christ freely offers? Send $1,000 to Murdock and Inspiration “Company” or freely, sincerely, with a contrite heart and spirit ask for the free gift that Jesus already paid for with His life. With a broken body and God the Father forsaking His one and only Son, Jesus love for you and I kept Him on that cross in place of us.
Be grateful for what you have, do not not lust after what you want at the peril of becoming deluded, lost and quite miserable.

What if I’m not naturally a giver, but simply want to obey the word of God, just as I am desperately trying to diligently please and serve God because I don’t want to go to hell, but not because I’m naturally God-loving? What if I’m serving God because I fear His wrath and judgement? Or someone gives and has expectation to receive simply because he/she trust God’s word?

My comment: By giving to a man like Mike Murdock and the lies he preach, do you not think you are endorsing these lies? Do you not think as a Christian, God tells us to be on our guard, to stand firm. How are you standing firm by endorsing Murdock? 1 Corinthians 16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

My comment: There are many who walk this earth just like you, sheep’s in wolves clothing. Do you think when we all stand before God one day we’ll be able to deceive Him? And I pray that you do come to love Jesus, because he is our King (a loving, true, and only God) and not out of fear. To all of you dear saints of God who believe that Luke 6:38 refers to giving money, you are, unfortunately in error. For years I taught and preached this to be true, but I learned differently.
Another look at the verses above and below this verse cast more light on the true interpretation of verse 38.
The subject in these verses is judging and forgiving others, not giving money.
In other words these verses are saying that if we judge others and don’t forgive them, we will be judged or unforgiven by others “in good measure, pressed down, shaken together” etc.
I hope this will bring you all better understanding on Lk. 6:38.

Only the Savior will know the truth of the seeds. So many people take one scripture reference and don’t include all of the same topic to see the whole picture. When you say you plant a seed, you are indeed saying you think you are right in your words and that only good come from the seeds you plant. this is what Satan fell by. Touch not Gods anointed and do his prophets no harm is in the word of God. So tell me who for sure knows this man’s heart and if you do not approve just let God deal with him and turn off the television. Is he knocked down and smitten by God? Do you really think the Lord would allow Satan such power in one person and allow them to continue to deceive? Many ministries embrace this person. People I remind all of us who are Christians that God has the devil on a leash. Do you really think the Lord is powerless concerning those you judge are false? People have a choice to give or not and a choice to believe or not but not a choice to judge!! I am not saying a word against this man or anyone else who bears the name of Christ and we may not like him but we are commanded to love him. The Lord can and will stop all false lying prophets if he chooses to and the Lord may be judging us who are judging them and condemning them. Mike is still moving on and doors are still opening up for him to speak in many places and if he was not God’s child then why is God favoring him. Persecution always comes with carrying your cross and who is carrying this cross? Jesus did and always will carry the cross for others no matter what our thoughts about others are for the way they speak act and believe.

If you read Matthew 24, Luke 21 and 2 Tess 1-4, you will see that Satan has been granted a lot of powers. Both to performe miracles, and to deceieve. Even the elect, if possible. Paul wars us, and makes us understand that Satanc can appear as an angle of light. Lucifer is not dangerous when he tells us “I am Lucifer”, but when he is introduced as God.

There has never been recorded in the Bible a man of God asking for a certain amount of money to get a blessing from the Lord. We should always search the scriptures as the Bereans did in Acts 17:10,11 to see if this is God’s truth and not our impulse to react emotionally.

They love watching all the false propsperity teacher on “god.tv”. They desire to get the assured return in cash. It do not matter how many scandals these TV-preachers are involved in.
The thing we really need to believe G-d. He tells us that. We need to realize that prophecy is being fulfilled fast and that is why HE tells us the pray without ceasing and stay in the Word. Apostasy is world wide, money the root of all evil. these people even tho we are to unite, we need to remember that we unite in the true Gospel not men. not to judge the world, but when we see a brother or sister do wrong , we are to tell them by scripture in love and humbleness. they have a different gospel and another Jesus as it is written. The money fills his and others pockets and buys more airtime to repeat the cycle. it saddens me to see him pray on people who are in financial need, sick or just fearful of life…and makes people cynical of those who are doing the Lords work.

As anathema as this may sound to many, perhaps you should study the works of the fathers of the Faith: Sts. Augustin, Francis, Polycarp, and Aquinas may be good places to start. These were men who truly studied and understood the Scriptures in several languages. You will not find the worship of riches, or a demand for the turnover of your worldly goods, as tenet of faith in any of their writings.

What i see is a very comprehensive report on a known scammers fraud techniques. Albeit it is only from a religious perspective. But still informative. I met murdock years ago, And i can tell you that he does not represent faith of any kind. He’s an actor plain and simple.
People can get butt hurt because they were stupid enough to hand this guy money, And continue to do so because they don’t want to admit they were scammed. But they should consider that in doing so they are hurting the poor and needy, By not taking the time to make sure that their money goes to the needy.
So by inaction your just as guilty as the multitude of frauds that spam the tv networks for donations daily. You would rather believe a lie, Than put food in the bellies of the hungry. Because you know absolutely that nobody needs a rolls royce to go to church. But children die daily because there is no money for medical treatments and food.

We may not have Rolls Royce and 10 car garages and several mansions but we have our needs meet and we are not begging for bread and we have Love. Let me save everyone a load of heartache here. We can waste so much time arguing about who is right and who is dead wrong. The universal indisputable truth about televangelists is that they are ALL untrustworthy in regard to their delivery of the Word of God. Here’s why: Everything on tv gets ratings which dictate when it is able to be aired. In order to get ratings, a program must deliver exactly what its viewers desire to see and hear. How can that qualify for a source of information which viewers NEED to hear? It cannot.
Additionally, in any facet of reality, mainstream moves in the wrong direction. The Bible uses words like broad and wide to describe the wrong way. The way that is easy or common is invariably the wrong way due to the nature of this world and the god thereof.
I say all this to say seek God. You don’t need the tv or radio or the internet to seek God. You need a relationship with Christ in which He will guide you into all truth. Jesus said if we being evil know how to give good gifts to our children how much more the father in Heaven. Do we charge our kids to bless them? No and neither does God. I am sorry but I think Mike Murdock is a con man. I know for a fact he has lied about the amount of money people have received, because I know one of the pastors he has called out personally. He “preaches” what a lot of people want to hear. People want to be rich, or at the very least not struggle as much as they do with finances on a daily basis, and so they are willing to accept what men like him are saying. What he is saying is based on scripture just enough to make people believe it. But the scriptures he basis his teachings on are contorted and taken out of context. Please do not fall for this crap. This is the same thing that every other con man has done throughout history. They provide just enough truth to make their lie more and more appealing. And they always have an answer as to why you didn’t get what they were offering, and MOST of the time they are long gone before anything can ever be said to them about anything. They have gotten their money or whatever else they were asking for in return for their lies, and hightailed it out of Dodge as fast as they possibly could.
People on here want to talk about how anyone saying anything negatively about these preachers are somehow wrong for judging them, but the bible never says not to judge someone. It says not to judge unless you are willing to also be judged. I am very willing to be judged, as we all should be. Snake oil salesmen like him need to be taken off the air completely and never heard from again. They have made several people waste loads of money they couldn’t really afford to waste, and what is their excuse when people don’t get “blessed”? “Well their faith must not have been great enough.” That is complete and utter bull. The bible says that if you have faith the size of a grain of a mustard seed you can say to a mountain move and it will move. A mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds known at the time the scripture was written. So what does that mean? The AMOUNT of faith you have is inconsequential. The fact THAT you have faith is what really matters. I know God can do something, I might doubt that he will at a certain time, but my knowing that he can, and my believing in his existence is all the faith that is required for ANYTHING. Money isn’t required for a blessing, only faith. You cannot buy a miracle, and putting an amount on something like $1000, or even $58 is telling people that you indeed CAN, BUY a miracle from God. This is NOT biblical, and anyone taking up for these charlatans need to have their head examined.

Mike Murdock really puts on a good show. However, I was one trapped in his false preachings because I believe now that everything comes from GOD through faith and trust. I am in a financial bind but I am still happy because I have my SAVIOR & I will wait upon my JESUS for my needs. He knows what is best for me & he will give me what I need & it will be given to me honestly. I will not judge but I have my own beliefs.
I’ve been listening to Mike the past few weeks. He is a compelling speaker. The first time I heard him ask for the $58 per month seed I became a skeptic so decided to hear more so as to learn how and why we are deceived by the likes of him.
To give you some background, I am a 55 yr old disabled woman living alone on disability that meets only 50% of my monthly financial need. I have relied on God to provide the monthly shortage for three years and He has done so, miraculously and often at the last minute when I, in my foolish humanness, am feeling desperate. I’ve been down to $17 with no idea how to pay rent when He sends exactly the amount I need.
Prior to being in this situation I worked as an executive, married to another, owned an equestrian center and construction company. I was surrounded by friends and family who respected and admired me. I paid my tithe eagerly and happily believing God was blessing me abundantly …my cup overflowed. Then, due to circumstances beyond my control, over the course of 3 years I lost it all beginning with my ability to work due to disability. All I had belonged to God so I believed He has His reasons for taking away all He had given me..I clung to the Book of Job, and still do.
So if anyone is eager to prosper it is I. But I have gained vast wisdom over these long years of lack. I do not have a church home. I have visited many in my area and came away from each feeling sad and empty. That is a story for a different time that I mention only because I don’t have a local church to support. So I watch tv church often and have found a few faithful servants that truly inspire me through God’s word. They include Charles Stanley, Andy Stanley, James Merritt, Joyce Meyer, and Robert Morris. They do not ask for money directly but request support at the end of their teaching via donations and selling books or cds, etc. I am often inspired to support them but have no means of doing so. Which leads to the reason for my writing.
My heart is heavy with sorrow for those in need. We are taught to care for orphans and widows, and when I see the rampant neglect and abuse of both in society I yearn to help them. I also ache for those enslaved in sex trafficking, coming from an abusive childhood myself. I pray fervently for the means to help others less fortunate than I. I cry for the pain and suffering of children everywhere. God knows my heart and has given me the spirit of giving. Yet I have nothing to give at this time but the wisdom imparted to me by Him.
So I offer these seeds to those who seek a harvest. When His Spirit lives in you He provides access to powers of discernment. We are taught to use these powers to discern His Will for us. This applies to all aspects of our daily living. When we are being deceived by wolves, this power is available and accessible via prayer. Go into your quite place to meet God alone and ask Him to reveal the truth to you. Ask Him to guide you to do His Will, not yours or anyone else’s. He is faithful to answer.
I too was inspired by Mike Murdoch. After praying for wisdom and powers of discernment my ears were opened to the truth: No man needs a Rolls Royce in their garage or a $25,000 watch. Period. God does want to prosper us and will do so as He pleases, just as He did with Job. God gives and takes for His purpose alone. Not because we deserve it, desire it, or even need it. He promised to meet our needs when we rely on Him for them. Not because we deserve it, but by His Grace. All His gifts come through Grace as does salvation through His Son, Our Savior Christ Jesus.
The beauty of His perfect plan is in that we can do nothing to receive His favor. So when Mike or the multitude of wolves out there try to tell you to do something physically to be prospered they are lying. I am not able to give money even though I desire to, but God still prospers me. Why? Because He said He would. He also said to give and it will be given to you. Was He talking about giving money? I believe He was saying to give whatever you can wherever you can whenever you can, but not to get in return. The natural reward for giving is to receive via His perfect plan for creation. But we must rely on Him for His plan to work in our lives. Satan’s plan is to deceive us into thinking God lies or His word is fallable. The key to receiving is in believing God is who He says He is and does what He says He will do, in His time and His way.
How long did Job suffer before his family and riches were restored? We don’t have that answer. What we do have is His word that we will all suffer a little while before He relieves us. My suffering continues indefinitely as there is no feasible worldly end in sight. Mike Murdoch can not end it. Money can’t end it. Only God’s grace can do so and I thank Him fervently for giving me the wisdom to understand Him. He created everything in natural existence; nutured and fortified His creation since the beginning of time. Surely He will nurture and fortify me, who He created in His image for His pleasure! I am alone, living below poverty level, yet all my needs and some of my wants are met perfectly, often before I know I will need them!
The undisputable truth is found in His word, and by being indwelt by His Holy Spirit in order to decipher the wisdom within the pages of His Bible; the only book to withstand the test of time and extensive scrutiny.
God knows my needs before I ask. He plants seeds in my spirit that guide me to do His Will. It is the perfect plan. His Will for me fulfills my needs. Let all creation praise Him!

How else are we to try the spirits without judging them? We are to judge everyone; but only once we have judged ourselves first lest we judge someone and we are doing the same thing that we are judging them for.
I would never give to any of these self-professed evangelists. They are all false teachers and even Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, and Joyce Meyer are the worst. They may be great motivational speakers, but are as false as Satan himself. Never take a preacher’s word as Truth. The only Truth is found in the Scriptures. Let the Scriptures guide you, not what someone who claims to be sent from God tells you.
Some way that we are judging Murdock. I don’t think he is truly being judged, but someday he will be, as he stands before God the Father. And then he will awnser to the so called money grubbing sermons he gives in the name of Jesus christ.
I occasionally peruse all the “religious” stations and I am always left speechless by the heretical teachings and the sad faces begging for money. Last night I came across Mike Murdock who was asking for his $58 seed that it appears from the comments above he’s been asking for for years. He had the gall to say, in response to a woman’s comment about finding $58 to give, “Look, I have a shiny, black jaguar. I bet if I told the woman she could drive it for one hour she’d find a way to scrape up the money.” Again, I was left speechless at his arrogance, his boastfulness, and his utter lack of regard for people’s struggles…not to mention that there are many people who don’t place the same value on driving a nice car as he does. It is disgusting and heartbreaking all at the same time. I don’t understand why people listen to these con artists and refuse to open their Bibles. Sad.

I stumbled upon this site by mistake, & while perusing the comments on, it was a therapeutic experience, made me laugh & think, in conclusion, this reminds me of when Job’s wife & friends falsely accused him this which angered God & they all had 2 repent for their sins, & it’s ONLY when Job prayed for them then God forgave them as his wrath was strong against them, now I ask if you are all wrong & God sends someone 2 acknowledge this would u all obey or would God’s wrath be upon you all, in a few days from now we will see the power of God!!!!!! And, as the scriptures you listed affirm, some believers have fallen prey to these deceivers. I pray God will help them see their error. Jesus fulfills our needs, our daily bread, and is our all in all. BUT He did NOT promise that all of His followers could or would become rich (although there are other ways to be ‘prosperous’ than MONEY) by following any Biblical prescription a person comes up with. Thank God some Christians DO prosper financially, and that’s great. But certainly most do not become rich. Whether we like it or not, Christ has called us to SUFFER, before we reign with Him eternally. Don’t let anyone think he/she can circumvent the suffering inherent in the cross of Christ by becoming rich. And, yes, I’m a Pentecostal Christian for the last 53 years, I believe in Divine healing and I believe every word of God. And nowhere do I see in scriptures that every Christian will be rich by following some man-made formula!!!

Mike Murdock came to speak at my Bible College. He made insulting comments that he wasn’t going to speak unless everyone came up to the front of the auditorium. My wife got up and walked out and he made a negative comment about her as she did so. He even stated that money is the main concern on his mind. I don’t consider him to be a person who displays the attributes of a life led by Holy Spirit, but then, I don’t know how God may be working through him.

Oppressing the poor is more than a physical treatment. It can also be spiritual abuse to gain at the expense of another.
The word for ‘oppresseth’ speaks of deceiving, fraudulent word or action, pressing upon (push, push, push, sell, sell, sell,) The Pharisees oppresssed the poor and needy, and kept them in a religious bind. This is what the Roman Catholic church has done to its faithful millions, as have all cults.
And not only the oppressor will come to want in the end, but also those who give to those who are rich. Here is a clear warning for us all. So make sure that it is God who is directing you to give to those like MM. No doubt he is a poor man by comparison to others like Kenneth Copeland.
But if a man has nice suits, nice car/s, nice mansion, nice food, nice bank balance, nice swimming pool, you could safely say he is rich in this world’s good. So don’t give to him or her, regardless of their position in the church or in a ministry, unless you are absolutely sure it is what God wants you to do..
Rather give to the poor – Pro_19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
God is no man’s debtor.,
There is a warning about giving to the rich. But there is no warning in Scripture about giving to those who are truly poor. The reward from the Lord would be no less if one only gave to the poor, in comparison to those who may get some reward by giving to rich ministries.
I would rather lend to the Lord than find myself in want at the end.

According to a report I read – MM is rich with some millions to his name. He does not need the money of those who are struggling to hold their head above water. But any one who gives to that minsitry, it is between them and God.
If he is truly doing what God wants him to do then God will justify him. If not nobody can.

Seed faith giving is a concept I was introduced to through Oral Roberts magazines. I even went so far as to purchase a number of his seed faith books and send them in mail to ministers my town in Australia. I was really sold on it. But my motive as I remember was not for making money, but for the principle of sowing and reaping which Jesus teaches about. Years later I regretted that action after finding out a few things about that ministry.

According to this source, J E Ewing went to Oral Roberts with the idea, because he was wanting to buy OR’s jet plane to help him out of financial difficulty. I do not trust the teaching of preachers who live lavishly and keep asking for money. There were such preachers in Paul’s and Peter’s day. Peter has some very clear words to say about them.
Many protestant – pentecostal – charismatic preachers may be not much different to the poor followers of the Roman catholic teaching who gave their few meagre coins in order to acquire some supposed spiritual benefit – indulgences.
Such men or women bring the name of the Lord Jesus in disrepute. But then haven’t we all done that along the way? May the Lord have mercy on us all.

It is true that Jesus saves the rich as well as the poor. But He also stated that it is harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle; (and I believe they had sewing needles of some sort back then).
Paul also said that not many rich have been chosen by the Lord.
But the poor?
Well Heaven is full of people who were once poor in material wealth but rich in faith toward God.
There are also many warnings for the rich (like Rev 3:17), but there are very few such warnings for the poor.
Yes I believe in Romans 10:9 and 10 but I also believe in many other passages that open up that whole message.
John 11:26 believers who go on believing (become doers of the word – James 1:22), shall never die spiritually.
Believers who keep Jesus’ word (obey it) will never die John 8:51.
Jesus spoke much about obedience. Eg Those who do the will of My Father in Heaven are My brother, sister mother etc.
Believing has everything to do with obedience. And with such the Bible has much to say.

The touching factor has to do with physical harm, injury, just like was done to all of God’s prophets of old who were imprisoned by the religious leaders or kings of Israel and some kings of Judah, and Like they did to Jesus.
The harming factor can include physical spoiling and making them to be ‘good for nothing’.
The saying first arises concerning the Israelities in their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land called Canaan. The context concerns pagan kings like Abimelech who was charged with not “touching” Abraham (Gen 20; and Laban with resepct to Jacob (Gen 31), and so on.
David when he was fleeing from Saul for many years could have killed Saul , but he refused to physically harm Saul for he was the anointed of Jehovah.
But even so, David was not afraid to point out to Saul that he as the king was in the wrong. Note also that David never bad mouthed King Saul, calling him names. He was always respectful, as Jesus was to those who spoke evilly of HIm. But this did not stop Jesus from speaking the truth about tthem. But it cost Him His life.
Stephen said this to the anointed of God and the others who were with him
“Act 7:51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Act 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:” It cost him his life.
Paul did not hesitate to speak to the high priest and say that what he was doing was wrong.
Touching the Lord’s anointed is not to do with speaking the truth in love, adn speaking in love does not always mean in soft smooth words.

Not sure of your comment on beware if claims are made that God speaks to them.
Let God be God. It is entirely His prerogative to speak to this one or that one. He is the same God and He will do as he pleases There are many reports of muslims who have visions and dreams in which God speaks to them.
When Peter preached on the day of Pentecost, he declared what Joel of old said that God would pour out His Spirit on all fflesh and that some would have dreams and some visions and some woudl prophecy etc.
We are not to despise prophecies but we are to prove all things and not glibly to believe every spiurit that speaks to a man or woman.
There were and there are false prophets and teaches and christs (anointed ones), but there are also true servants of God to whom He may wish to speak. Everything must be examined according to the Scriptures.

for any minister of the gospel to utter such a curse is not wise at all; nor does it prove that the one who so utters the curse against himself is a true servant of God. Rather it shows immaturity at best, and blasphemy at worst for He is using God’s name in a manner that Jesus did not subscribe to.. That is not humility.
A true servant of God walks and talks in humilty and in the fear of God and does not need to prove anything except by the fruits of the Holy Spirit working in and through his life.
True servants of God do not teach people to give money to ‘his’ ministry in order to receive blessings from God. True servants of God will not make money a main topic of their appeal or teaching.
Nor should they take God’s name in vain.
Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and it is a member of Christ Himself. We are to bless not to curse.

god has shown me Murdock’s fate: he goes to heaven, (since he has some semblance of faith), but he will learn quite clearly what the bible means when it says ‘many who are first here will be last there’. he’ll need to keep a dish rag handy, to wipe the soap suds off the sleeves of his suit.

In 1983 I was asked to take Mike Murdock and Donna Douglas (ellie may clampett) to dinner after a service they held at my church. I was a deacon and the minister couldn’t take them. After Mike found out that my finances were tight raising a family, he focused the whole time on Donna bragging about his brand new Mercedes. He complained about his steak and sent it back. I felt like a fifth wheel except the times Donna involved me in the conversation. He promised the small church he wouldn’t take any of the first $1000 (which was a big offering for our church) but just take the excess. Which was about $9000. Sad so many fell for this selfish message. I’m so surprised he’s still doing it.
You never see him with a BIBLE IN HIS HAND and he is blasphemous to the word of the Lord.

Everything he was claiming to preach about he stole from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ideals and practices. Its main teaching point is that “Controlling you thinking, leads to controlling your emotions. Which ultimately controls your behavior” As a recovering addict who practices this, its appalling to think of this man getting credit for his “Keys to Sucess”

Fred, you’re right, no human on the planet has earned a seat next to god in heaven. That’s why God sent Jesus. It’s called mercy (not getting what we deserve…hell, which is eternal punishment). And He is a God of grace (getting what we don’t deserve…forgiveness and eternal life). Read Philippians 2:5-11 to find out how much God loves you. Sending Jesus to pay for man’s sin and disobedience. Leaving heaven to become one of His creation and dying as a criminal, which is what we deserve. It’s God’s unconditional, unmatched love that draws me (man) to repentance. He knows our heart is corrupt and depraved and wants to replace it with a new heart of love and forgiveness. Praying God opens your eyes to this truth.
