The Bavarian Protestants might drop the title Bishop, and name their leader Church President.

This autumn the synod of the Bavarian Protestants in Germany will decide on a proposal to rename their leaders. No longer shall their leaders bear the tittle “Bishop”, but “Church president”.
A priest named Dieter Schlee has reminded the Bavarian’s that the current duties of the leadership, is a principle of the Third Reich.
The controversial theologian Hans Meiser was in 1933 appointed the first church leader Bishop. His predecessor Frederick Veit was church president.

My comment:
The statement of Dieter Schlee can easily be cross checked by the use of wikipedia in regards to the history of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, with its seat in Munich.

In todays Germany the Church bear this name: Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche in Bayern.

Adolf Hitler and the Nazi-party made a deal with the Vatican, and made Rome submit to the political leadership of Mussolini and Berlin.

Hitler also promoted union among the Protestant Churches. To lead the Christians into unity, he created a new office of a Reich Bishop. The first was Ludwig Muller.
What does the Bible say about the word Bishop?
It can not be found. The Bible explains that the Church needs to have elders or overseers.
The office of a Bishop is a Papal invention.
Germans protest against Nazi-era Bishop

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Germany’s Protestant Church announced on Tuesday it was dropping plans to honour a former bishop known for his close ties to Adolf Hitler’s Nazis after protests by the Jewish community.

The church had planned to hold a memorial service on June 8 for Hans Meiser, who historians have said made anti-Semitic and racist remarks before and during the Nazi era. Meiser was leader of the Bavarian Protestant Church from 1933 until 1955.
