The Israeli Air Force Air Defense Division held a series of war games over the weekend.
This is a part of a long-term strategy to integrate the various systems under development to protect Israel from missile attacks. The Jewish state is in need of developing its doctrine for air defense.
«We checked a number of simulations from launches from different countries and different ranges», said Lt-Col. Avi Cohen. «We checked which defense system we will use for which missile.
Some systems can deal with a number of different threats, and we need to set up the doctrine for how we will use them. Israel is considered to be a leader in the effort among Western allies to build multi-layered missile defense systems and several countries have already expressed an interest in buying Israeli air defense equipment and cooperation in training.

My comment:
As followers of Jesus we are not supposed to promote wars. We pray for those who persecute us, and bless even our enemies.
The Old Testament is not equally clear about non-violence as an instruction to the Jewish people. There would not have been a Jewish nation, if the Jewish people did not exercise their right to self-defense.
The same Jesus who have called His students to pray for their enemies, is the author of the Law of Moses. If the Jewish people do not protect and look after Zion, they will be living in disobedience to God the Bible. The restoration of Israel in 1948 would not have been possible without the Jews using arms to protect them selves.
Evangelical Christians should support Israel`s right to self defense.
