United Nations tries to ban Israel from self defense against terrorists

«The Goldstone report mocks history and fails to distinguish between aggressor and those acting in self-defense».

Shimon Peres rebukes the United Nation for trying to harm the state of Israel.

President Shimon Peres on Wednesday slammed the Goldstone Commission’s report on Operation Cast Lead. Peres claimed the commission members would not have written such a report, which accuses Israel of war crimes, «had their children been living in Sderot, under the constant threat of Hamas rockets»

The president blamed Hamas for launching the war, claiming the terror group had committed numerous horrendous war crimes, and stressed that Israel had to defend itself.

«Hamas carried out attacks against the children of Israel, detonating bombs in city centers, hurting civilians, firing more than 12,000 rockets and mortar shells at innocent civilians with one clear aim – to kill», he wrote in a statement.

My comment:

Since both Israel and Hamas is accused of war crimes, its important to ask what kind of war crimes Hamas has committed?

And will the Hamas leadership be sent to the International War tribunal in the Hague?

In Gaza there is no Court of law that can investigate and possibly persecute the Hamas leadership that has committed the war crimes.

And since Gaza is not a recognizable nation, I guess the criminals will neither be arrested, nor captured to be held accountable for their crimes.

The Goldstone Commission report accuses Hamas for committing war crimes in the form of rocket attacks against civilian targets inside Israel. Its a fact that thousands of such rockets were fired into Israel prior to the Gaza war, and nobody need to do any further investigation besides the preset evidence given the UN.

And since Operation Cast lead was a reaction to such war crimes, I guess the IDF did have a right to an effective self-defense?

If Israel was not supposed to enter the Gaza-strip to destroy the rocket launchers, how would anyone be able to stop this kind of war crimes committed by Hamas?

And finally:

What does it take to stop terrorists who are willing to send their own children as suicide bombers? I guess more that sugar candy, or a resolution passed by the United Nations?

With Goldstone´s logic Winston Churchill was a war criminal

According to Goldstone’s standards, Winston Churchill himself should have been placed in the defendant’s seat as a war criminal.

On the eve of a European Parliament debate on the Goldstone Report, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin warned its 736 MEPs on Tuesday against «allowing Goldstone’s new morality to take over international law».

European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek said the debate was a sign of his institutions growing interest in the Middle East.

«The European Union wants to be a player [in the Middle East] and we are doing it very seriously», said Buzek on Tuesday at a press conference in Brussels.

«Tomorrow we will discuss the Goldstone Report, the next signal that the European parliament and institutions are interested in solving the Middle East problem», said Buzek.

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin gives the EU a stern warning:

«According to Goldstone’s standards, Winston Churchill himself should have been placed in the defendant’s seat as a war criminal, as would American and British generals who have killed thousands in Iraq», Rivlin said.

«In the meantime, it is Israel alone that pays the price of the double standard, which does not differentiate between the victim and the attacker or between terror and self-defense. If the trend is not changed, next in line will be British and American military personnel, and those of the rest of the free world».

He warned that the «new and crooked morality will usher in a new era in Western civilization, similar to the one that we remember from the [1938] Munich agreement, which allowed a dictatorship to spill the blood of the free world, and almost brought about its defeat».

My comment:

If the EU had invited Hitler to explain why the Jews are bad people, I am sure the European commission would have come up with a solid report of 200 pages. The list of Nazis that would have given «eyewitness accounts» would surely have been long.

But would such witnesses have been trustworthy?

What kind of credibility do Hamas have?

Do people who behead and slaughter even their own Muslim brethren, have any role to play in the International court of Justice?

Another British MP: «Israeli leaders should be arrested»

«Israeli officials should be arrested and tried for war crimes in Gaza».

The British Labour legislator, Gerald Kaufman, said this as a part of a delegation of 60 European parliamentarians who entered Gaza on Friday.

Human rights groups have alleged that both Israel and Hamas committed war crimes during Israel’s three-week offensive against Gaza, which ended a year ago. Among other things, Israel was cited for firing white phosphorous flares, which can cause horrific burns.

«The lawmakers are visiting Gaza to draw attention to the territory’s evil blockade by Israel and Egypt», said the Labour legislator, Gerald Kaufman.

Kaufman also spoke in support of attempts by pro-Palestinian groups in Britain to get Israeli politicians and army officers arrested once they step on British soil. Britain has a universal jurisdiction law that allows prosecution of alleged war criminals whose crimes have no direct connection with Britain.

«We have had a fuss in our country about the inability of certain Israeli politicians to visit Britain for fear of being arrested», said Kaufman, frequently an outspoken critic of Israeli policies. «Anybody who uses white phosphorus should be arrested and should be tried for war crimes».

«But when we read of an Israeli politician being afraid of being arrested in Britain, we remember that 1.5 million people in Gaza are under arrest every day of their lives by the Israelis, suffering depravation, hunger, lack of satisfactory medical treatment, lack of screws to put school desks together so your children can learn», Kaufman added.

The British BP makes no claim that the leaders of Hamas should be tried for war crimes.

Thats amazing.

If the legislators in Scotland had fired 8.000 rockets into England in a bid to destroy the United Kingdom, I guess the British MP´s would have reacted?

I also presume Westminster would have sent troops to Scotland, to end the rocket fire, and called the decision an act of self defense?

The British MP Kaufman seems to be paying no attention to the hardships the Gazans have been through, because of Radical Islam and in particular the rule of Hamas.

Why have the Islamic republic of Egypt decided to ban this kind of Iranian style Islamic Sharia-law regime from entering Egyptian soil?

Unlike Cairo, I guess Kaufman would have freely invited Hamas into England, to rule in the streets of London?

God of Israel will hold blindfolded European politicians responsible for the silly words they utter in regards to the conflict in the Middle East.

Israeli ministers threatened with arrest by NATO-member Turkey

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak may cancel visit to Turkey to avoid arrest warrant.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak might put on hold a planned visit to Turkey scheduled for next week, as a Turkish human rights organization has issued a request for a warrant for his arrest.

«We know that Barak will arrive in Turkey on the 17th of the month», said the group Mazlumder. «(We) need to put him trial and prevent every other Israeli who is responsible for war crimes from entering Turkey freely. We remind the Turkish prosecution of its role. We remind them that Britain has already decided to arrest Tzipi Livni when she was slated to arrive in the country».

If Turkish authorities issue the warrant, it would be the first time a Turkish court took such action.

Syrian President Bashar Assad delivered a similar message to Hizbullah last week.

«Israel is compromising global peace by fighting the Palestinians, using Lebanon’s air space and waters, and for not disclosing its nuclear capabilities», said Erdogan. «Israel never denied that it has nuclear weapons. In fact, it has admitted to such. Those who are cautioning Iran must also caution Israel», Erdogan said in comments which Israeli officials denounced earlier this week but are now being reported in full.

«If we fail to display a fair attitude in this region, the problems will hit not only the region, but will spread elsewhere as well», Erdogan added. «The unrest of the Middle East is the unrest of the world».

My comment:

The UK law system did this week rebuke the politicians in London, who tried to stop court arrests of Israeli leaders visiting United Kingdom. The next country that will close its door to the leaders of the Jewish state is Turkey. And alarmingly for Israel, this is another NATO-country turning unfriendly.

NATO was formed as a military and political alliance that would fight for liberty, human rights and freedom. Since both United Kingdom and Turkey now sides with Islam, and starts to lock-out and persecute the state of Israel, NATO is no longer a tool for freedom and justice. It has declined to become a forum ruled by its members greed for oil, an a slave of overdrawn credit lines given by Saudi Arabia.
