The idol of Jesus in Brazil will soon compete with a Brazilian copy of the Temple of Solomon.
One of the world’s largest and most controversial Pentecostal churches has been given permission to build a USD 200m replica of Solomon’s Temple in Brazil’s economic capital, São Paulo.
The 10,000 capacity “mega-church”, which is the brainchild of Brazil’s Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, will also house a replica of the Ark of the Covenant and be built according to “biblical orientations”.
According to the Estado de São Paulo newspaper, planning permission was granted this week and church officials say it should be completed in four years.
The church supports so-called “prosperity theology” – by which acts of faith including donations are rewarded with material wealth.
In 2009, São Paulo’s public prosecutor accused 10 senior members of the church, including Macedo, of siphoning off billions of dollars of donations to buy cars and property. Macedo, who denied the charges, owns a $45m private jet.

Iran, Brazil and Turkey signed an agreement on Monday over a nuclear fuel swap designed to allay international concern over the Islamic Republic’s atomic ambitions and avert fresh sanctions on Tehran.
Iran said it had agreed to swap 1,200 kg (about 2,646 lb) of its low-enriched uranium for higher-enriched nuclear fuel, to be used in a medical research reactor. The exchange would take place in Turkey, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said.
Secretary of State Hilary Clinton tells Turkish foreign minister Iran not serious about accepting international demands to prove its nuclear program is peaceful, says Tehran must face fresh penalties. Clinton expected to give similar message to Brazilian FM ahead of president’s visit to Iran.
Iran, which rejects Western accusations it is seeking to develop nuclear bombs, had earlier insisted such a swap must take place on its territory.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on six world powers, which have been discussing further UN sanctions on the major oil producer, for fresh talks on Iran’s nuclear program after the fuel exchange agreement.

What is this deal all about?
To develop a nuclear bomb, Iran needs to build centrifuges to enrich Uranium up to a purified level where the Uranium will trigger a nuclear explosion. Now Iran has «given up» 1.200 kilo of the raw material. When enriched, this stuff will be enough to build a nuclear bomb.
But has Iran given up their nuclear power ideology and their centrifuges that can be used to develop a nuclear bomb?
The answer is no.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul has formed a new Axis alliance with Iran.
Iran has just been offered a dream deal. Iran will now receive high end enriched nuclear fuel free from Turkey, to be used in Iranian civil nuclear programs.
Turkey and Brazil gives Iran the chance to use all their secret centrifuges to enrich high end Uranium, and be completely focused on developing a Nuclear bomb.
Russia, China and the US will now claim that the Iranian Nuclear program have been brought under International control. That is a big lie.
The Iranian Nuclear Bomb program has not been brought to an end. The centrifuges have not been dismantled, and the Nuclear facilities have not come under International inspection.
Iran have secret atomic facilities that will give the Ayatollah His bomb. The Islamic republic will use the bomb in a bid to nuke Israel. To avoid a coming nuclear holocaust, the Jewish state will probably feel forced to act alone. The alternative is to surrender to Islamic totalitarianism and blackmails.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva refused to pay respect at the grave of Zionism’s founder Theodor Herzl. But the Brazilian leader payed respect to the founder of the PLO.
President Da Silva of Brasil has joind the anti-Zionistic camp who want to demolish the Jewish homeland.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva laid a wreath on the grave of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in Ramallah on Wednesday. Afterwards he insisted the anti-terror fence which Israel built around the West Bank must come down.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Da Silva added that he «dreams» of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Da Silva also weighed in on the recent row between Washington and Jerusalem over a Jewish housing project in the capital city.
«The U.S. today is in disagreement and conflict with Israel. It was never expected to see these two allies in such a disagreement. We do not know if this is the missing magic that was needed to reach an agreement», Da Silva said.
Da Silva and Abbas agree that Islamic terrorism needs to be honored.
Israel was critical of Da Silva’s visit to Arafat’s grave, since he had refused to also visit the grave of Zionism’s founder Theodor Herzl. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman boycotted any meetings with Da Silva because of the Herzl snub.

My comment:
The Brazilian President should not be re-invited to visit the state of Israel. To refuse to may respect to the founding father of the Jewish nation is of course distasteful. But when Da Silva demonstrate his anti-Jewish attitudes by underlining his pro Islamic agenda, He will be better off in South America than in the Middle East.
In fact Da Silva has found a new friend in Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I wonder how many days it will take before also the Brazilian President becomes a Holocaust denier?
