The rave party in the Negev was not a party in the wilderness. In the desert. But almost as close as you can come to the border fence with Gaza.
On Sabbath evening 6th of October, 260 Israeli youth were holding a huge outside rock & roll party, hardly 7 (seven) to 8 (eight) kilometers from the border fence to Gaza. Not a safe place to be, under any circumstance. How could the IDF give them permission to hold such a party there? All people in this area have ca. 20 seconds from a Code Red to escape into their bomb shelters inside their houses. (…) Out in the fields, there were no places to hide. The Killing Fields is marked in red on the map. There were hardly 500 IDF soldiers on guard in the whole West Southern Israel. Only one battalion to fight the Hamas. From a military point of view, this is insane. The other 4 missing battalions could have made a difference. But their 2.000 co-guards in the Gaza border area, had been sent to Samaria to battle the Hamas there. Not less than 20.000 people from Gaza had been granted VISA to enter Israel, and travel up to the mountains in Samaria.
