Macron announced an international fundraising campaign to raise money for the repairs. French billionaire François-Henri Pinault, the chairman and CEO of international luxury group Kering, pledged 100 million euros towards rebuilding Notre Dame.
A fire that devastated Notre Dame Cathedral in the heart of Paris was brought under control by firefighters in the early hours of Tuesday morning, though officials warned there were still residual fires to put out.
Thousands of Parisians watched in horror from behind police cordons as a ferocious blaze devastated Notre Dame Cathedral on Monday night, destroying its spire and a large part of the roof.
An investigation has been opened by the prosecutor’s office, but police said it began accidentally and may be linked to building work at the cathedral. The 850-year-old gothic masterpiece had been undergoing restoration work.
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, attended the scene and later gave a speech in which he vowed that the cathedral would be rebuilt, as fire crews said the landmark’s rectangular bell towers and structure of the building had been saved.
Macron said “the worst had been avoided” thanks to hundreds of brave firefighters who battled for hours and who would continue working through the night. One firefighter was severely injured but no other casualties were reported.

My comment:
Evangelical Christians do not desire wars and destruction. But because of the fall of man, and ongoing rebellion against God of the Bible, such events can not be avoided. Just before Jesus the Messiah returns, God’s wrath will be poured out on all ungodly flesh. Man made religious shrines will not escape destruction.
The Roman Catholic shrine “Notre Dame” in Paris will not stand in the last days. It is an abomination, a disgrace for all true Christians. The Pope has placed a false crown on tornes inside, cramming it belongs to Jesus. Such a claims are blasphemous, and only well fitted to the false usurped authority if the papacy.
The book of revelation reveals to us that all religious men and leaders of the World will cry and mourn what they see the great whore of Babylon kindled with fire. But all true martyrs of the Christian faith will rejoice, because the age of judgement will soon start. And justice will be given to all the true witnesses of the Messiah. The martyrs what were beheaded by the Worlds religious authorities will rise again, and reign with the Messiah. Prise Him.
The book of Revelation tells us what is to come at the end of the age:
Revelation 18: 18-20.
“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city?’ They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
where all who had ships on the sea
became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’
“Rejoice over her, you heavens!
Rejoice, you people of God!
Rejoice, apostles and prophets!
For God has judged her
with the judgment she imposed on you.”
The age that will bring justice and divine rule is set to begin. Praise Jesus the Messiah.
The blood of His martyrs, the Messiah will revenge it. Haleluya.

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,[e] were killed just as they had been.
Do not side with the religious enemies of the gospel. But rather be ready for martyrdom and eternal glory in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Ivar, G-d bless you as you tell the whole truth of what is happening in these last days, the great falling away, apostasy, so many souls are lied to and seem to like it that they can be their own god. so sad. we know from prophecy that the L-rd G-d is coming soon. so sad that so many are being killed and beheaded in other countries. I read that a preacher said , he married his boy friend and now feels s much closer to G-d, he is fooling himself. reading Romans one two, three and all the Romans tell us who will never see heaven. However the fire started, whether by accident (there are no accidents) or deliberately, this fire is a warning to all nations. If you put your trust in riches, and you put your trust in princes and their works, such as this man made cathedral, built for King Loisu, an edifice for the glory of man and not of God, then such things will be cast down by God Himself.
The word “cathedral” – means ‘the bishops throne’. It refers to the seat of religious power. A cathedral was the primary, most important church in a diocese; a headquarters if you like.. It has been the seat of the Archibishop (Catholic) of Paris.
In God pronouncing judgment on the nation of Israel, He rebuked time and again their injustice to the poor, the orphan and widow. The religious leaders, and king and officials were robbing the poor, and making slaves of them. For these things and many others unrepented of, God sent sever judgment on them – His own people, because He loved them (Hebrews 12:5-14).
Instead of rebuilding this monument to man, which, because if God will not be in the work of rebuilding it, it will all be in vain for God will destroy it Himself, the money should be used to build homes for the homeless, in the most impoverished places on earth, and all the kings and presidents of this earth who are urging their people to donate to it, and whose governments may also donate to its work, ought to let it be and do justice to the poor, the orphan and widow for the sake of justice, righteousness, mercy and truth. In that God will bless and commend.
He has shown you oh kings what is good, and what the Lord does require of you, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Those who give – lend to the poor, give and lend to the Lord. Those who ignore the poor, God will also do likewise to those who show not mercy.
The sympatic reactions from claimed to be Christians are quite shocking. There are more religious people around in Evangelical Churches than I in my wildest fantasy could phantom. The knowledge about Catholicism seeems to close to zero. And the spirit of discernment obviously do not surface inside thousands of Evangelical leaders. We are living in apocalyptic times, and face fulfilment of the prophecy of the grand and gross falling away among our closest brethren.
Amen to that ivar! The Catholic Church has been included as just another denomination. The church no longer remembers the dark ages when Rome ruled with an iron fist from 600 A.D. to 1517 A.D. People want to know what it’s like to have the Roman Church rule, just look back. But in these very last days all people will join together in a one world religion under anti-Christ. If they don’t take the mark they will be killed just like in the Dark Ages, if you don’t take the Eucharist you will be killed. The book of Revelation says it very clearly that all who believe in Christ will be killed.

Thanks for this comment. I see a lot of Christians walking down the path pf compromises. They do not want to share the gospel, and risking being hated by their cloesest family, friends and society at large. The Roman Catholic religion is not Christianity. It has never been, and will never be. It is a copy-cat of the Christian faith, misusing the name of Jesus. Only those who remain loyal to the Word of God will continue to tell the truth at any cost. In Greek the word witness is matyrum. We are all call to give up our life, to gain life. If we die, death is gain. Promoted to the kingdom of Heaven. Amen.
