This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
The Messiah is the light of the world. There is no darkness in Him. He healed the sick, raised the dead, drove out demons, feed the hungry, and rebuked people living in error. People hate to be rebuked, and become the enemy of God. People who hate the Messiah hate God. Some evil deeds are obvious. Others are hidden.

Indeed, I have noticed that people have become more and more resistant to the gospel, to rebuke, and to a call to holiness.
