Prosperity gospel Cathedral face bankruptcy

The Crystal Cathedral is being put on the market as the church seeks a way out of its crippling debt.

The Propsperity gospel mantra did not work for Robert H. Schuller and his family either.

The Orange County church is hoping the sale of its imposing glass building will generate enough revenue to save it from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and make good with some 550 creditors.

The Chrystal Cathedral ran out of cash. Did not get the expected and promised return from "God".

It has been looking for an exit strategy from its financial woes ever since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last October.

The reorganization plan includes the sale of the 40-acre campus to a real estate group with a guaranteed option of leasing it back for 15 years.

After four years, the church would have the option of buying back the Crystal Cathedral, the 13-story Tower of Hope, the welcome center and the cemetery.

My comment:

God of the Bible seems to be less than pleased with all who peddle the gospel of Jesus for money.  The “prosperity gospel” is a demonic invention, used to fill up the bank account of fleshy pastors.

The givers arepromised high return on their gifts, must higher than the interest they can get on their savings.  Often the false teacher promises 30, 50 or 100 times cash return to every self centered giver.

Jesus the Messiah plainly told, that all who wants to be blessed by Him can not serve both God and money. If you love cash and materialism, you are an enemy of God.

Luke 16:12-14
And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus.

James 4:4
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

When the enemies of God goes bankrupt, we better pay attention. The magic money mantra did not work for these pastors either. Their copy of the Christianity is another road to Hell.  Be careful: Do not store up riches on Earth, but be a cheerful giver who do not expect monetary return on gifts. But expect Heavenly blessings of all kinds.

Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
