Roman Catholic Nazi memorial in Croatia a disgrace to Europe

28th of December 2011: Two Roman Catholic Churches in Croatia held memorial masses for Nazi-leader Ante Pavelic.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned a memorial Mass in two Catholic churches in Croatia for Ante Pavelic, the fascist leader of the country under the Nazi regime.

The Mass, held Dec. 28 in Zagreb and Split to mark the anniversary of Pavelic’s death in 1959, “is a disgrace for the Croatian people,” Efraim Zuroff, the center’s director in Jerusalem, said in a statement. He called on Croatian authorities to ban commemorations of Pavelic’s death.

Under Pavelic’s Ustasha regime during World War II, hundreds of thousands of Serbs, as well as Jewish and Roma civilians, were imprisoned and murdered in Croatian death camps.

Zuroff called the Mass “a total ridicule of Christian values” and an insult to Pavelic’s victims.

Was the Roman Catholic Church silent on Nazism before and under World War II?

This is a matter of dispute. Disputed, because the Vatican have not opened its war files. The files in Berlin were destroyed.

The Vatican relations with the Nazi proxy regime in Croatia, expose the nexus. Not only were the Roman Catholic priests and bishops active supporters of the Pavelic-regime. Even today the Roman Catholics in Croatia hail the memories of the Nazis.

The late Pope has done his best to please his subjects in Croatia. John Paul II beautified the local Cardinal Aloysius Stepinac who hailed Pavelic. The Present Pope kneeled and prayed in front of the wax corpse of the beautified bishop during his visit to Croatia 4th of June 2011.

87,8 of the population in Croatia are Roman Catholics.

During World War II, on 6 April 1941, Yugoslavia was invaded by Nazi Germany and its allies.

The (Allied) Yugoslav forces maintained a defense up until 17 April. On 10 April 1941, the Wehrmacht occupied Zagreb.

Having previously agreed to form a Croatian satellite, the Germans and Italians established therein the Independent State of Croatia, and installed the Ustaše movement into power. Fiercely nationalistic, the Ustaše were also fanatically Catholic.

In the Yugoslav political context, they identified Catholicism with Croatian nationalism and, once established in power, set about persecuting and murdering non-Catholics.

As the archbishop of the capital, Stepinac enjoyed close associations with the Ustaše leaders.

Stepinac publicly exhorted his hierarchy to pray for the Independent State of Croatia, and publicly called for God to “fill the Ustaše leader, Ante Pavelić, with a spirit of wisdom for the benefit of the nation”.

Fascists helped ousted Pope

The Kingdom of Italy removed Roman Catholicism as state religion in 1870. In 1929 the Papal system was brought back by the Fascists, though the Treaties of Lateran. With Benito Mussolini as the midwife, The present Vatican state was born.

The Papal system was the ruler of Kings and Kingdoms. It was the biggest landowner of the divide Italian peninsula of many small states. It had its own army, and a Pope sitting in Rome.

On September 10 in 1870 A.D, Italy declared war on the Papal States. The Italian Army, commanded by General Raffaele Cadorna, crossed the papal frontier on 11 September and advanced slowly toward Rome. He was hoping that a peaceful entry could be negotiated.

The Italian Army reached the Aurelian Walls on 19 September and placed Rome under a state of siege. Although the pope’s tiny army was incapable of defending the city, Pius IX ordered it to put up at least a token resistance to emphasize that Italy was acquiring Rome by force and not consent.

On September 20, the Bersaglieri entered Rome and marched down Via Pia, which was subsequently renamed Via XX Settembre. Rome and Latium were annexed to the Kingdom of Italy.

In October, Rome and the surrounding Campagna, voted for a union with the kingdom of Italy. Pius IX refused to accept this act of force majoure.

My comment:

Pope Pius IX convened the First Vatican Council in 1869, which decreed Papal infallibility in questions of moral and how to understand the scriptures.

That the Roman religion was suspended as state religion in the new Italian Kingdom the very next year, should not have impressed anyone enough to believe in the infallibility of the Pope in Rome.

The people of 1870 A.D simply did not want him. Even the people who lived in Rome, voted against the Pope in a referendum. The citizens of Rome wanted to be a part of the new Kingdom of Italy, with religious freedom, without a Pope as their religious head.

The Pope of Rome became a victim of the political games he had created as head of a worldly state. In 1848 he even had to flee Rome because of an uprising, and take exile in the Castle of Gaeta in The Kingdom of Two Sicilles. That was 120 kilometers from Rome, just north of Napoli. The Pope, not yet to be anointed by his Church with infallibility, was exiled in this castle for two years. But even when he came back to Rome in april 1850, French troops remained in Rome until 1870, to protect the status quo on the chaotic Italian peninsula.

If it had not been for the Fascists, the Papal system might have ended on the scrap-yard of history almost hundred years ago. The Bible tells us that one Pope, one of the heads of the «beast» would be rescued by another «beast».

The «brown shirts» brought back Roman Catholicism as state religion in Italy. The Fascists and the Pope had common interests and aspirations, and were well suited for each other.

If the Fascists were able to gain World control by political and military powers, the winners would make the Pope in Rome the religious head of the World.

Bentito Mussolini came to power by violence, following the «March on Rome» in 1922. As late as 1927, he was baptized by a Catholic priest. This was needed to silence Catholic opposition to the planned deal of making peace with Fascism in exchange for the Vatican state in 1929.

The two «peace partners» of Rome who signed the Treaties of Lateran. did not succeed.

But just before the Jewish Messiah returns to Earth, they will finally «succeed».

Pope canonize the priests who supported Fascist Franco

100 Spanish groups and associations say they want the pope to cancel the beatification, which they denounce as “hypocritical and cynical”.

Pope Francis has been asked to halt the beatification of more than 500 “martyrs of the faith” killed during the Spanish civil war, amid fresh controversy over the political role played by the Roman Catholic Church in the conflict and during the Franco era.

The appeal was made public in advance of a planned mass in Tarragona on Sunday to beatify 522 priests, monks, nuns and Catholic laymen who the Church says fell victim to religious persecution during the 1936-39 war.

The ceremony is the latest in a series of moves by the Church to bestow religious honours on members of the Spanish clergy killed by militias in republican-held areas early in the conflict. The civil war ended in victory for Francisco Franco’s nationalists.

Spanish activists representing more than 100 groups and associations say they want the pope to cancel the beatification, which they denounce as “hypocritical and cynical”. In a letter published on Friday, they also call on him to apologise to Spaniards for the Church’s role in “helping and legitimising the military uprising and the Franco dictatorship that claimed so many victims”.

Signed by an alliance of Spanish groups that demand full scrutiny of abuses and crimes committed under Franco, the letter to Pope Francis says:

“After the death of the dictator nothing changed. In the current democratic period, Spain’s Catholic hierarchy has taken the same line. On the one side, it extols some victims through mass beatifications and canonisations and, on the other side, it forgets the Francoist repression.”

Critics also argue that the Spanish clergy offered crucial political and ideological support to Franco both before and during war, which it hailed as a “crusade” against communists and anarchists. The Catholic Church went on to serve as a pillar of the Franco regime, enjoying not only financial privileges but also huge influence over areas such as education and family law.

My comment:

Most of the Europeans are indoctrinated in public schools. No teacher ever told them about the Roman Catholic-Fascist nexus.

There was hardly any difference between Hitler and Franco.

The Pope was exiled from Rome in 1870, after he lost a popular vote.

The Italians was simply tired of the religious tyranny of the Papacy.

Now, who brought the Pope back to Rome?

In 1929, the Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini gifted Pope Pius XI the Vatican statehood.

The deal was that the Roman Catholic Church would support the New Fascist government, and Catholicism would be reintroduced as the state religion.

From 1929 onwards, there was basically no difference between a Fascist in Italy and a Roman Catholic.

The Fascists were baptized and confirmed in Roman Catholic Churches, both in Italy and in Spain.

In 1933, the Pope also made a “peace treaty” with the Nazis. In 1934, the Catholic Zentrum Party merged with the Nazi-party in Germany.

There was no longer any visible and doctrinal difference between a Catholic and a Fascist. Now, Pope Francis from former Fascist Argentina honors the “heroes” of former Fascist Spain.

Saving the last “Nazi” Church in todays Berlin

Martin Luther Memorial Church in Berlin is a former Nazi-Church, kept as a Museum.

A protestant parish is trying to raise money to restore the Martin Luther Memorial Church in Berlin — and its National Socialist ornamentation — as a memorial to the victims of the Nazis.

This is an articles from 2006, published by the German State television channel Deutche Welle.

The imposing Martin Luther Memorial Church in Mariendorf, south Berlin, looks like many others built in the 20th century, with its brick and stone Bauhaus-style exterior.

But the last surviving Nazi-era church in Germany is also a place where pastors preached from pulpits adorned with Aryans, and babies were baptised in a font featuring carvings of a Nazi storm trooper.

In fact, the National Socialist link is clear from the outset. In the lobby, an iron cross chandelier illuminates the busts of Martin Luther and Field Marshall Paul von Hindenburg, Germany’s famous World War I commander.

Church officials believe that there was initially a likeness of Adolf Hitler — after whom the church was supposed to be named.

In the main part of the church, stained glass windows framed by a stone arch face pews for 800 worshipers and a giant organ. The organ was first used at National Socialist rallies in Nuremberg in 1935 — the year the church was opened and two years after Hitler came to power.

The huge stone archway has friezes on its square panels. Images of crosses and other religious symbols are next to those of workers, soldiers, eagles and some blank panels — the swastikas were removed because they are illegal in Germany.

“Everything is about power, strength and victory,” said Ilse Klein, a historian who works at the church. “They are clearly fascist symbols.”

The church was originally designed in 1928 before the Nazis seized power. It was in continuous use until two years ago, when the stability of the tower was threatened and tiles began falling off.

The parish has been lobbying the government of Berlin and the Protestant church organizations for the 3.5 million euros they need to rebuild. But there are hundreds of churches in Germany in need of money and the city of Berlin is practically broke.

As a result, the parish leaders hope to get historical designation from the city so that they can then apply for funds set aside for historical landmarks from foundations. And though they don’t plan to use the church again for regular services, they hope to hold special ceremonies, concerts and exhibitions marking anniversaries such as the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp on Jan. 27, 1945.

“It was the times,” said Klein. “But it is not common anymore to see politics illustrated inside of a church so clearly. That is why we want to save it — to remind people this should never happen again.”

Many Nazi-era buildings have been preserved and are still in use today. Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, for example, was designed by Hitler’s favorite architect, Albert Speer in 1936, and the Nazi’s central bank is now used by the foreign ministry. But the church presents a trickier problem because it clearly shows that churches collaborated with the Nazis more than is commonly acknowledged.

Initially, the Catholic Church cooperated with Hitler after Pope Pius XI signed a treaty with him in 1933. But that collapsed in 1937 when Hitler began putting Catholic clergy on trial after the pontiff issued a statement of concern because of years of Nazi interference.

Meanwhile, Hitler appointed Ludwig Müller as the Reich’s Bishop to lead a movement of Protestant National Socialists called the “German Christians,” also known as the “Storm troopers of Jesus.” Soon after, Hitler tried to force Protestant churches to join the Reich’s Protestant Church, which promoted an “Aryan Jesus” and wanted to replace the bible with “Mein Kampf.”

Neither the Protestant or the Catholic Church officially opposed the Nazi policies towards Jews.

My comment:

There were Germans who believed that they could influence Hitler, to become more moderate and a Zentrum kind of leader of Germany.

The leader of this flock, was Von Papen. (Franz Joseph Hermann Michael Maria von Papen zu Köningen) Today we call such people “Papenheimer’s”.

In the Church of Jesus the Messiah, there are quite a few “Papenheimers”. They do compromise with evil and darkness, and feel they are called to change false Christianity into what can be accepted. They preach the political correct way forward for “the Church”.

When the Holy Spirit withdraws from the political correct Church, a false Holy Spirit enters and take over the flock. That is one of the fruits of “replacement theology”. In the Nazi-Church “replacement theology” was taken to its logic conclusion.

In the 1930-ties “Jesus” became the white haired blue eye “aryan redeemer” of the German people. “Jesus” in many “Churches” today have been reduced to a freedom-fighter for the “Palestinian people”.
