Obama use Jesus to brand his taxation plans

But as a Christian it also coincides with Jesus’ teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.

These are the words of President Obama, referencing the Gospel of Luke.

It is not the first time religion has been invoked for political gain, and it probably will not be the last.  At this year’s annual National Prayer Breakfast Thursday, President Obama tried out a new election year pitch to bolster his argument in favor of taxing the rich: Jesus.

“If I’m willing to give something up, as someone who’s been extraordinarily blessed, give up some of the tax breaks that I enjoy, I think that actually makes economic sense. But as a Christian it also coincides with Jesus’ teaching that ‘for unto whom much is given, much shall be required,” said President Obama, referencing the Gospel of Luke.

“I know that far too many neighbors in our country have been hurt and treated unfairly over the last few years. And I believe in God’s command to love thy neighbor as thyself. I know a version of that golden rule is found in every major religion and every set of beliefs,” he said.

My comment:

To use the name of Jesus to raise taxes is a Babylonian practice. Because both the Romans and the Persians put heavy taxes on their people to raise money for the Empires military expenses.

Like Obama, the Constantine the great, the emperor of Rome claimed to be a “Christian”.

Jesus took up a coin. It could have been an image of Obama in the flip side. He told his students to go and give the american emperor what belongs to Him.

 Mark 12:15-17

15 Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”
But Jesus knew their hypocrisy. “Why are you trying to trap me?” he asked. “Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.” 16 They brought the coin, and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
   “Caesar’s,” they replied.
17 Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.”
And they were amazed at him.

If you strip Christians for all their money by raising taxes, there will be no money left for mission and Christian social work. Christians are not entitled to pay taxes at all. But we are instructed by the Messiah to pay what is demanded, so no one can use this topic against us,
