On Sunday, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit warned the West to stay out of Arab affairs, days after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urged Arab leaders to work with their peoples to bring reforms.

“We hope the (Arab League) will adopt Egypt’s proposal which would be a message from the Arab to the Western and European world saying ‘Do not dare interfere in our affairs,” he said.
He was responding to a speech Thursday by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in which she urged Arab leaders to work with their peoples to implement reforms or see extremists fill the void, warning the “region’s foundations are sinking” because the region’s peoples “have grown tired of corrupt institutions.”
“In too many places, in too many ways, the region’s foundations are sinking into the sand,” she added. “Those who cling to the status quo may be able to hold back the full impact of their countries’ problems for a little while but not forever. Others will fill the vacuum,” if leaders failed to offer a positive vision to give “young people meaningful ways to contribute.”
“The talk about the spread of what happened in Tunisia to other countries is nonsense. Each society has its own circumstances,” Abul Gheit told reporters in Sharm el-Sheikh.
After 23 years of iron-fisted rule, Tunisian dictator Ben Ali caved in to violent popular protests and fled his country on Friday, becoming the first Arab leader to do so. Governments in the Middle East are increasingly uneasy about the situation as opposition groups seek to take advantage of the upheaval in the north African country.

My comments;
I never thought I’d be saying these words, but I agree with Hillary Clinton 100 per cent.
She’s absolutely right, and this Egyptian autocrat is a fool for blowing her off. But he’s not the only one.
Arab governments all over the Middle East are in danger of ending up just like the Tunisian dictator, overthrown by their own subjects. The popular rage on the Arab street is palpable, you can smell it as you walk through the streets of Amman, Cairo and other Arab cities.
As we’ve said before on this blog, the political instability in the countries surrounding Israel will end up being a big problem for the Jewish State. As Hillary Clinton said, “others will fill the vacuum” left when these corrupt and autocratic governments fall.
Those “others” are likely to be Salafist Moslem groups filled with suicidal rage against Israel and the West, and they will not be deterred by Israel’s superior military power or persuaded by American money.
Israel cannot put its hope and trust in any earthly help, but only in the God who wrote their Bible and His Son Yeshua Ha’Mashiach, who is the only hope for them and for the entire Human Race.
