Haitians who profess witchcraft as religion are cursed. The Dominican Republic offered Jews shelter from Nazi-Germany and received blessings.

The republic of Haiti is a non stop disaster zone of 10 million people who have witchcraft as religion. On the eastern side of the same island, 10 million people in the Dominican Republic have a per capita income almost 400 per cent higher than in Haiti.

1338 USD for Haiti, and 5176 USD for the Dominican Republic.

How is it possible to get such a difference on the same small island?

When I was looking for the answer, I can across an almost forgotten story linked to the Holocaust.

Let me first remind you about an important promise in the Bible.

Genesis 12:3
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

This verse is a promise to all who bless the children and descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

While Haiti is the only nation on the western side of the Atlantic that has witchcraft mixed with Roman Catholicism as state religion, the Domenican Republic came with a marvelous offer to persecuted Jews in July 1938.

While Catholics and Lutherans claimed to be “Christians” hailed Hither in Germany, the president of The Dominican Republic offered to receive 100.000 Jewish refugees from Germany.

During the scandalous Évian Conference in July 1938, non of the 26 nations gathered lifted a finger when Hitler challenged them to accept the Jews who wanted to leave Nazi-Germany. Not even the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a positive response.

But when claimed to be “Christians” turned their back on the smallest of the brothers and sisters of Jesus, the Jews, God of Israel picked a dictator in Latin America to make a spectacle of the cowards in United Kingdom and United States.

His name was Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina, the dictator who led the Dominican Republic from 1930 through 1961.

His offer of accepting 100.000 Jews from Europe was given to Hitler already in 1935.

Only 800 Jews made it to the coast of The Dominican Republic, and the dictator gave them land as promised.  The Jews set up a synagogue, and called their new refugee camp Sosua.

The Dominican Republic has been speared of almost all the calamities that has struck Haiti.  The small republic even entered into the club of democratic states in 1965, when an American invasion led to the fall of the dictatorship.

Today, there is only a handful of Jews left in the city of Sosua. Most of the 800 Jews have migrated to the US. But the synagogue remains, as a testimony of God’s faithfulness towards all who take His Words seriously,
