Reform rabbi sworn in to Buenos Aires council

‘Non-Jews love me more than Jews,’ says Sergio Bergman, first Jewish religious leader to assume public office in country.

The election of Sergio Bergman can be the event that triggers a return of Jews from Argentina home to Israel..

Rabbi Sergio Bergman made history on Tuesday when he was sworn in to the 60-member Buenos Aires municipal legislature.

He became the first Jewish religious leader to assume public office in the Catholic-majority country.

The 49-year-old native of Buenos Aires is hardly the first of Argentina’s approximately 200,000 Jews to enter politics. Hector Timerman, the country’s foreign minister, and Jose Alperovich, the governor of the state of Tucuman, are both Jewish, to name a few.

The Reform rabbi, who dons a colorful, broad-rimmed yarmulka and took his oath on the Torah instead of the Christian Bible, said the election of a visibly Jewish candidate to a senior position was especially significant because of Argentina’s past.

It’s very important because in the 1950s, under [Argentinean dictator Juan] Peron, we invited the Nazis to come to this country,” he told The Jerusalem Post at the Jewish Agency for Israel’s Board of Governors meeting last month. “Now I can be elected and there has been no discussion over whether ‘we should let a Jew became a leader,’ and I think this is a good thing.”

Bergman was the top candidate on the list submitted by Propuesta Republicana (PRO), which won 60 percent of the vote in the Buenos Aires municipal elections last June.

Headed by Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri, PRO is the main opposition to Argentinean President Cristina Kirchner’s Justicialist party.

“I know Macri well, and he is a friend of Israel,” Bergman said of his political boss, “and I know he has the common sense to distance Argentina from Venezuela and Iran.”

My comment:

I did not know that there are 300.000 Jews left in Argentina.

What are they doing there?

I hope that the hunters will come a get them back home to Israel. Why stay and support a nation that is manly populated by Roman Catholics, who invited the Nazis to hide there, and escape trials for war crimes and the Holocaust?

Jeremiah 16:15-17
but it will be said, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ For I will restore them to the land I gave their ancestors.

“But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the LORD, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks. My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.

That Sergio Bergman has been elected to the city council of Buenos Aires, will surly expose antisemitism. Many there come so many difficulties on the Jewish community, that they all return home to Zion.

 Isaiah 11:12
He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.

Jeremiah 29:14
I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Living a dhimme life under the yoke of Paganism is not going to save a single Jew. If they are being assimilated into the the Catholic Latino community, they will die and perish in the diaspora.

Enemies of Israel are rubbing each others back

Argentina is 10.000 kilometers away from Palestine. Still Mahmoud Abbas supports Bueno Aires claims on the Falkland island.

My enemy's enemy, will soone become my very best friend. Mahmoud Abbas gets help from Argentina.

The Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister on Jan. 2 thanked PA President Mahmoud Abbas for his support in the country’s dispute over the Malvinas (Falkland) Islands, occupied by British forces in 1833.

Marking the 178th anniversary of the islands’ occupation on Monday, the Argentinean representative to the Palestinian Authority pointed to similarities between the Malvinas Islands and Palestine.

My comment:

The global march on Israel is an ongoing political game. What did Argentina get in the bargain, for recognizing the Palestinian state?

The power struggle in Lebanon, is another part of the same regrouping for the final battle to come.

What will the US get from Saudi Arabia and China, to finally dispatch from their commitments to the security of Israel?

King David was concerned about evil men, making play to take his life.  But the Jewish king knew that with the help of God of Israel, no one could touch Him.

Psalm 43:1:

Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked.

Let the World be gathered for the final battle in Zion. Let us see what they will get in the end.

The Lamb of God, the Messiah, will not return to Earth to play politics. He is coming back to Earth as the final judge, the Lion of Judah.

Revelation 5:5
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
