The outdated priesthood of Aaron and the New Covenant

Mainline Churches claim they are the Israel of God. Claiming to be the upholders of the New Covenant, still holding on to the outdated priesthood of Aaron.

Representative of an outdated priesthood, who lead the World astray from the true Messianic faith.

The book of Revelation tells us about some people claiming to be Jews, but are not, they are liars. How shall we understand this prophetic message? Who are the Israel of God in the New Covenant age?

Galatians 6:16

Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God.

To claim to be the Israel of God, but not being willing to accept the new priesthood of Melchizedek, making you an participant in evils, as a subject of the outdated priesthood of Aaron.

Mainline Churches hold on to the Old Covenant priesthood, stil claiming the are the true chosen people of God. The successors of Moses and Aaron.

Numbers 3: 5-12
The Lord said to Moses,  “Bring the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest to assist him.  They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle.

Give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to him. Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death.”

The Lord also said to Moses, “I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine.

God’s plan for salvation of mankind is explained already in the book of Exodus. His plan was to educate the people of Israel to become both a kingdom of priests and a Holy nation. The plan was to bring the good news of the Messiah to the four corners of the World. God of Israel knew that the second temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed 70 A.D, the very end of the Levitical priesthood.

Exodus 19:6
you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.”

The New Covenant includes a change in the Torah, the Law. The Temple in Jerusalem is gone, and so is its Levitical priesthood. The requirement of blood as atonement for sin is still valid. But the law has changed. Only the blood of the Messiah shed on Calvary hill can be used. When the Messiah gained His victory on the Cross in Jerusalem, he shed His blood as atonement for the sins of the World, once and for all. Jews and gentiles alike. A new priesthood was established, that stripped the Levitical priesthood of all its work and power. Alle followers of the Messiah are called into the New Priesthood, proclaiming the New Covenant in the blood of the Messiah. No blood, no salvation.

Hebrews 7:11-13

If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron? For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.

The Messiah is not from the tribe of Levi. He is the Lion of Judah. The Levitical law has been changed.

The consequence of submission to an outdated priesthood, still claiming to represent God of the Bible, is a serious sin and offence. Because you live in a delusion, and support those who makes the Word of God null and void. You have to come out of such claimed to be Christian Churches, because they participate in all kinds of evil. They are not assemblies of the New Covenant, but rather synagogues of Satan who misuse the Word of God. Rather go and share the good news, starting from Jerusalem, the center of the World.

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

  1. Dear Ivar, I have a question about a woman whom I met recently who claims to be a Jewish Christian. She says she and her friends go to Synagogue and follow the Torah. They call their leader Rabbi, which Yeshua said not to do. The men wear the yarmulka, which I am not sure is a practice of Torah observant jews or not. In any case, why is it that when Jews convert to Christianity, so many of them start being Torah observant and go to join synagogues, and Messianic Jewish groups such as Jews for Jesus. This particular woman seems to lean on Torah and Old Testament but seems to know or observe very little of the New Covenant. I am trying to understand these things and need some help.
    Shalom in Yeshua,

    1. Dear Scarelett

      Shalom and love in Jesus.

The relationship and balance between the Law (Torah) and grace (Not deserved kindness from God) is en everlasting topic were Messianic followers will disagree. My take is that the Law is still valid. But there has been a change in the Law, related to sacrefice of blood as atonement for sins. Otherwiss we should be stoning to death all who breaks the Law on purpose. Yeshua did away with the call for death penalties, taking the death penalty on Him self. To follow the festivals and cultural practises of the Jewih nation can never be wrong. But you do not gain righteusness by doing so. All true Messianic belivers will follow the New Covenant, read and teach others of all that is written in the New Testament of the Bible.
