Main reasons for being disappointed with God

Jesus explain there are many reasons why people fall away from faith in Him. One of them is being disappointed with God.

Disap1
Many Christians have failed to live in peace with Jesus, regrdless of the struggles we face on Earth.

People normally gets disappointed when their expectations are too high. This can happen when we loose focus on the most important matters related to our faith.

Not reading the bible, and not having spiritual fellowship with other Christians, will normally quickly result in apostasy and an exodus from the Messianic faith.

But what about not getting what we expect from God our Father?

We can learn from Paul, his life and legacy.

Philippians 4:11

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

A Christians who are content with being granted salvation and eternal life, will not be disappointed with God, regardless of what kind of evils and persecution thrown upon him.  Also sudden death of relatives, who did not receive healing as promised by so-called faith-healers and prophets.

The second issue is walking down the wrong path. Be careful so false prophets dont lead you into work you are not called by God to do. Always remember that you have already been granted salvation of your soul. Man is saved by Faith in Jesus, alone, separated from works.

1 Peter 1:9

for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

The Third issue is our innermost motives. When we pray with wrong motives, Jesus is not obliged to answer our prayers.

James 4:3

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

One of the main reasons for asking with wrong motives, are selfish ambitions that are of the flesh. We desire to do “something for God”, but do not seek His advice and instructions first.  Pride will be attached to our nose, and we will soon be seeking our own honour and glory for what we do in His name.

A third issue is the existence of evil. Many times we hear atheists, and fallen away Christians, complaining. – When God has all the powers, why do he accept the existence of Satan and evil? Will this not make God responsible for evil, since He do bot use his powers to abolish such?

This is a simple answer to this question: Evil is a fruit of our free will. God created us with the will-power to reject Him, and to do what is wrong. Luckily, we are mot created to be puppets. God wanted us to chose Him freely, and enjoy His creation and honor Him.

The first will-powered rebellion took place in Heaven.  Lucifer wanted to replace God the Father, and got a third of the angles to join him.

Luke 10:18

He replied, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Revelation 12:3

Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads.  Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.

Revelation 12:7-9

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient snake called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

They were all hurdled down to Earth.  Likewise, every man is capable of using His free will fo rebell, do harm and in this way call curses down on his own head.

So be wise. Today, accept the salvation offered in the blood of Jesus the Messiah.  He paid on the cross for your sins, and took the punishment you deserve. His blood, only, can be used as a remedy for sins. He rose from the death for our justification, and is alive for ever more. If you fully understand that you have escaped the eternal flames of Hell, you will not live a life being disappointed with God. But rather praise Him in all circumstances.

  1. You are very confusing to Me. It has always seemed to Me as though you were shocked by the Pope’s behavior. You also seem to be a solid Christian but a hypocritical one. The RCC and the concept of religion come from the same place. Being a Christian is not really about the teachings of Paul as he was a communist. The Bible/Torah was given to the suns of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If you know who they are and how to identify them, the world will see that their God is with them. So who are they? Revelation 5 said that there is only one who could understand that book. Revelation 10 said that there will be a book written at this time and then the siege will begin with the two witnesses. See how much you have missed here: http://www.wheretofromhere.org

  2. Dear Anki.

    Shalom and love in Jesus.

I feel your comment is a litle bit beside the point. This article has nothing to do with the Pope, but rather about the fact that many peiople are disapointed with God of the Bible. If you want to debate the conserned topic, I am more than willing.

  3. Disappoint is used in Psalm 17:13 (Hebrew word: qadam-which means: prevent, before, met, come, disappoint, and go), Proverbs 15:22 (Hebrew word: parar- which means: break, make void, defeat, disannul, disappoint, frustrate, come to naught, break asunder, cause to cease, clean, dissolved, and divide), Job 5:12 (Hebrew word: parar) from Strongs concordance. “Without counsel, purposes (plans are confused) are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” Proverbs 15:22. In my humble opinion which is not much, people have no knowledge of God, if they did they would happily praise Him for what He has done for them, but they are unwilling to come to Him. They want “their way” and it is not God’s way. The truth is we are sinners, and we need Him to take away our sin and the only way is through Jesus Christ our Lord. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

    1. Dear Nanette.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Thanks for this comment. I agree. Not even Stepanus, who was stonned, had any reason to be dispoointed. He was on his way to Heaven to be with the Messiah. A far better place to be, than inside any eartly kingdom.

      1. Why is your Gospel selective? All the right words, but carefully placed caveats that excuse the Jews from repentance. Why why why? Is Christ a burden to your soul that you shield the Jews from? What is righteous or holy about the piece of land that you venerate? Why do you want Jesus Christ to fight political battles for people who knowingly reject and hate him? Why this total confusion? I marvel at your religion

  4. Duolos you are ignorant, and you want to stay that way. I would love to explain but I perceive you have closed ears. You are also an anti-Semite as well as anti-Christ. You must want to know the truth or are you here to boast against God’s chosen people? What about your repentance? “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” Romans 11:25-26.

    1. There is no life without Christ. All who have never accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, whether Jew or Gentile, are spiritually dead, dead to God in their trespasses and sins, and they have no part or share in the Kingdom of God, no matter if they are physically descended directly from Abraham himself. To maintain otherwise is to negate the Gospel of Christ and His work as Messiah and to tread underfoot the precious blood he shed for sinners. To insist on such a view that is to say that Christ need not have died, and that his death was in vain. I cannot be part of such sacrilege. Why do you quote the Scriptures selectively like the Pharisees used to do? Why call me an anti semite? That is very far from the truth. I have never shied away from acknowledging that the state of Israel has accomplished a lot in all realms as nation since it was founded. In fact, Israel has done exceptionally well for themselves, and for that I admire them. I support fully the right of Israel to live in it’s own secure land, free from all disturbance, but I also acknowledge that same right to their neighbors. As a Christian, I can do no less. But of what significance is earthly wealth and glory if at last you lose your life and enter the pits of hell for eternity? As the scripture asks, ‘what will a man give in exchange for his soul?’ Is there anything in this life worth giving up your soul for by rejecting Jesus Christ? I would be a false teacher if I taught such a Gospel. i would that all men, be they Jew or Gentile, come to Christ for eternal life, and as long as I live and God gives me strength, I must persuade all men that they will find salvation in none other than Jesus Christ, even if they be descended from Abraham himself. For God’s Kingdom is a spiritual Kingdom and not one of earthly glory as some want to cheat the people.

  5. Duolos, You said in your first post these things, “Why is your gospel selective?” All the right words, but carefully placed caveats that excuse the Jews from repentance.” What does that mean, what are you saying? What is your gospel in comparison to mine? You also said, “Is Christ a burden to your soul that you shield the Jews from?” Again, what are you talking about? Since when has the gospel been hid from them? You said, “What is righteous or holy about the piece of land you venerate?” Again, what are you talking about. The land belongs to God, He gave it to Israel forever! Are you for dividing the land and giving to the Palestinians? If so read this, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for MY PEOPLE and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and PARTED MY LAND.” Joel 3:2. Then you said, “I marvel at your religion.” What is the religion your referring to? So, since all these accusations were put forth explain where all these accusations actually took place or are true. If you cannot provide then you are sinning against the brethren (if you are a brother?). From your first post there was no evidence that you were a born Christian at all. If that is all you had written, all who read it would have had the same conclusion.

    1. Yes, I am for dividing the land and doing justice at every opportunity to all men wherever they will be in the world. Next to fearing God, there is no higher calling in Christianity than loving your neighbor as you love yourself. I wonder if you have ever meditated deeply on that commandment and understood it’s full implication. I wonder what would have been if Christ had chosen selfishness over love for his people and not gone willingly to die on the cross. We who he has called would still be in bondage to satan and sin. You are a fake Christian. You want to use God in search for worldly goods, wealth and glory, and to gain unfair advantage over your neighbour. You have no fear of God in your heart, and that is why you hate the Palestinians and everyone who does not support your evil course. You are a Pharisee and not a Christian.

    2. Dear Nannette.

      Shalom and love in Jesus.

Thanks for your bid to help Duolos. He remind me about one of my elders, some 10 years ago. He had a bible full of underlinements in the New Testament. He knew it by heart. Suddenly he said:’ I have not read through the old Testament. I find the prophectic books difficult to read and understand”. I had just one reply, which he could not counter: “So you have not read the Bible that Jesus had in his hands, when He walked on Earth in the flesh?

      1. But I have read the whole Bible, many many times, and I understand it well, and have been born again seventeen years now, and I know God and my Lord Jesus Christ well. No one who denies that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God, not even if they are physical descendants of Abraham. That is a lie, and no matter how many times it is repeated it will never be true. The only people that God has on earth are those He purchased for himself by the blood of Jesus Christ, both Jews and Gentiles. To teach that because the Jews are physical descendants of Abraham they are children of God is a lie, and lies are of satan.

      2. Dear Doulos.

        Shalom and love in Jesus.

You are right, and you are wrong. The problem you seems to have, is to have two thoughts in your head simultaniously. You seems unable to see the difference between a false Christ, and the true Messiah. That is a serious error. You throw out baseless accusations. No Messianic Jew, nor evangelical Christian, will ever claim that there is salvation in any other name than Jesus. (Yeshua). But when you claim you know Him, love Him, but reject and curse the work He is doing related to Israel, you becme a liar. And the work you are doing will be burned with fire. You are in danger my brother of facing jugdment for your apostacy. Please ask for guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will reveal the truth to you. Repent, and kindly stop repeating the same message regardless of the topic debated.

  6. “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits (proud ideas); that blindness (hardness) in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, there shall come out of Sion the Deliverer and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant (agreement) unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes.” Romans 11:25-28. The way that man talks he drives them away, the way he speaks of God is not the way the Jews should hear. He has not love a for their souls. What a shame. Without love he sounds like a bunch of noise and who would want to hear it? Dear Lord I pray for your people, for the gospel is for the Jew first and then to us (Greek) Romans 1:16. Paul says, “MOREOVER, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all thy that put their trust in Him” Psalm 2:12. The Palestinians need to believe the gospel. That does not change the fact that the land belongs to Israel/Jacob given to them by the Lord God forever, not to the Palestinians. I find it interesting how there is a similarity to the border of Mexico with the United States. They are also claiming that the land was stolen from them, you know Texas, California, Arizona, etc.
