Main reasons for being disappointed with God

Jesus explain there are many reasons why people fall away from faith in Him. One of them is being disappointed with God.

Disap1
Many Christians have failed to live in peace with Jesus, regrdless of the struggles we face on Earth.

People normally gets disappointed when their expectations are too high. This can happen when we loose focus on the most important matters related to our faith.

Not reading the bible, and not having spiritual fellowship with other Christians, will normally quickly result in apostasy and an exodus from the Messianic faith.

But what about not getting what we expect from God our Father?

We can learn from Paul, his life and legacy.

Philippians 4:11

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

A Christians who are content with being granted salvation and eternal life, will not be disappointed with God, regardless of what kind of evils and persecution thrown upon him.  Also sudden death of relatives, who did not receive healing as promised by so-called faith-healers and prophets.

The second issue is walking down the wrong path. Be careful so false prophets dont lead you into work you are not called by God to do. Always remember that you have already been granted salvation of your soul. Man is saved by Faith in Jesus, alone, separated from works.

1 Peter 1:9

for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

The Third issue is our innermost motives. When we pray with wrong motives, Jesus is not obliged to answer our prayers.

James 4:3

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

One of the main reasons for asking with wrong motives, are selfish ambitions that are of the flesh. We desire to do “something for God”, but do not seek His advice and instructions first.  Pride will be attached to our nose, and we will soon be seeking our own honour and glory for what we do in His name.

A third issue is the existence of evil. Many times we hear atheists, and fallen away Christians, complaining. – When God has all the powers, why do he accept the existence of Satan and evil? Will this not make God responsible for evil, since He do bot use his powers to abolish such?

This is a simple answer to this question: Evil is a fruit of our free will. God created us with the will-power to reject Him, and to do what is wrong. Luckily, we are mot created to be puppets. God wanted us to chose Him freely, and enjoy His creation and honor Him.

The first will-powered rebellion took place in Heaven.  Lucifer wanted to replace God the Father, and got a third of the angles to join him.

Luke 10:18

He replied, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Revelation 12:3

Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads.  Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.

Revelation 12:7-9

Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient snake called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

They were all hurdled down to Earth.  Likewise, every man is capable of using His free will fo rebell, do harm and in this way call curses down on his own head.

So be wise. Today, accept the salvation offered in the blood of Jesus the Messiah.  He paid on the cross for your sins, and took the punishment you deserve. His blood, only, can be used as a remedy for sins. He rose from the death for our justification, and is alive for ever more. If you fully understand that you have escaped the eternal flames of Hell, you will not live a life being disappointed with God. But rather praise Him in all circumstances.

  1. You are very confusing to Me. It has always seemed to Me as though you were shocked by the Pope’s behavior. You also seem to be a solid Christian but a hypocritical one. The RCC and the concept of religion come from the same place. Being a Christian is not really about the teachings of Paul as he was a communist. The Bible/Torah was given to the suns of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. If you know who they are and how to identify them, the world will see that their God is with them. So who are they? Revelation 5 said that there is only one who could understand that book. Revelation 10 said that there will be a book written at this time and then the siege will begin with the two witnesses. See how much you have missed here: http://www.wheretofromhere.org

  2. Dear Anki.

    Shalom and love in Jesus.

I feel your comment is a litle bit beside the point. This article has nothing to do with the Pope, but rather about the fact that many peiople are disapointed with God of the Bible. If you want to debate the conserned topic, I am more than willing.

  3. Disappoint is used in Psalm 17:13 (Hebrew word: qadam-which means: prevent, before, met, come, disappoint, and go), Proverbs 15:22 (Hebrew word: parar- which means: break, make void, defeat, disannul, disappoint, frustrate, come to naught, break asunder, cause to cease, clean, dissolved, and divide), Job 5:12 (Hebrew word: parar) from Strongs concordance. “Without counsel, purposes (plans are confused) are disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they are established.” Proverbs 15:22. In my humble opinion which is not much, people have no knowledge of God, if they did they would happily praise Him for what He has done for them, but they are unwilling to come to Him. They want “their way” and it is not God’s way. The truth is we are sinners, and we need Him to take away our sin and the only way is through Jesus Christ our Lord. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

    1. Dear Nanette.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Thanks for this comment. I agree. Not even Stepanus, who was stonned, had any reason to be dispoointed. He was on his way to Heaven to be with the Messiah. A far better place to be, than inside any eartly kingdom.

      1. Why is your Gospel selective? All the right words, but carefully placed caveats that excuse the Jews from repentance. Why why why? Is Christ a burden to your soul that you shield the Jews from? What is righteous or holy about the piece of land that you venerate? Why do you want Jesus Christ to fight political battles for people who knowingly reject and hate him? Why this total confusion? I marvel at your religion

  4. Duolos you are ignorant, and you want to stay that way. I would love to explain but I perceive you have closed ears. You are also an anti-Semite as well as anti-Christ. You must want to know the truth or are you here to boast against God’s chosen people? What about your repentance? “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” Romans 11:25-26.

    1. There is no life without Christ. All who have never accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, whether Jew or Gentile, are spiritually dead, dead to God in their trespasses and sins, and they have no part or share in the Kingdom of God, no matter if they are physically descended directly from Abraham himself. To maintain otherwise is to negate the Gospel of Christ and His work as Messiah and to tread underfoot the precious blood he shed for sinners. To insist on such a view that is to say that Christ need not have died, and that his death was in vain. I cannot be part of such sacrilege. Why do you quote the Scriptures selectively like the Pharisees used to do? Why call me an anti semite? That is very far from the truth. I have never shied away from acknowledging that the state of Israel has accomplished a lot in all realms as nation since it was founded. In fact, Israel has done exceptionally well for themselves, and for that I admire them. I support fully the right of Israel to live in it’s own secure land, free from all disturbance, but I also acknowledge that same right to their neighbors. As a Christian, I can do no less. But of what significance is earthly wealth and glory if at last you lose your life and enter the pits of hell for eternity? As the scripture asks, ‘what will a man give in exchange for his soul?’ Is there anything in this life worth giving up your soul for by rejecting Jesus Christ? I would be a false teacher if I taught such a Gospel. i would that all men, be they Jew or Gentile, come to Christ for eternal life, and as long as I live and God gives me strength, I must persuade all men that they will find salvation in none other than Jesus Christ, even if they be descended from Abraham himself. For God’s Kingdom is a spiritual Kingdom and not one of earthly glory as some want to cheat the people.

  5. Duolos, You said in your first post these things, “Why is your gospel selective?” All the right words, but carefully placed caveats that excuse the Jews from repentance.” What does that mean, what are you saying? What is your gospel in comparison to mine? You also said, “Is Christ a burden to your soul that you shield the Jews from?” Again, what are you talking about? Since when has the gospel been hid from them? You said, “What is righteous or holy about the piece of land you venerate?” Again, what are you talking about. The land belongs to God, He gave it to Israel forever! Are you for dividing the land and giving to the Palestinians? If so read this, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for MY PEOPLE and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and PARTED MY LAND.” Joel 3:2. Then you said, “I marvel at your religion.” What is the religion your referring to? So, since all these accusations were put forth explain where all these accusations actually took place or are true. If you cannot provide then you are sinning against the brethren (if you are a brother?). From your first post there was no evidence that you were a born Christian at all. If that is all you had written, all who read it would have had the same conclusion.

    1. Yes, I am for dividing the land and doing justice at every opportunity to all men wherever they will be in the world. Next to fearing God, there is no higher calling in Christianity than loving your neighbor as you love yourself. I wonder if you have ever meditated deeply on that commandment and understood it’s full implication. I wonder what would have been if Christ had chosen selfishness over love for his people and not gone willingly to die on the cross. We who he has called would still be in bondage to satan and sin. You are a fake Christian. You want to use God in search for worldly goods, wealth and glory, and to gain unfair advantage over your neighbour. You have no fear of God in your heart, and that is why you hate the Palestinians and everyone who does not support your evil course. You are a Pharisee and not a Christian.

    2. Dear Nannette.

      Shalom and love in Jesus.

Thanks for your bid to help Duolos. He remind me about one of my elders, some 10 years ago. He had a bible full of underlinements in the New Testament. He knew it by heart. Suddenly he said:’ I have not read through the old Testament. I find the prophectic books difficult to read and understand”. I had just one reply, which he could not counter: “So you have not read the Bible that Jesus had in his hands, when He walked on Earth in the flesh?

      1. But I have read the whole Bible, many many times, and I understand it well, and have been born again seventeen years now, and I know God and my Lord Jesus Christ well. No one who denies that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God, not even if they are physical descendants of Abraham. That is a lie, and no matter how many times it is repeated it will never be true. The only people that God has on earth are those He purchased for himself by the blood of Jesus Christ, both Jews and Gentiles. To teach that because the Jews are physical descendants of Abraham they are children of God is a lie, and lies are of satan.

      2. Dear Doulos.

        Shalom and love in Jesus.

You are right, and you are wrong. The problem you seems to have, is to have two thoughts in your head simultaniously. You seems unable to see the difference between a false Christ, and the true Messiah. That is a serious error. You throw out baseless accusations. No Messianic Jew, nor evangelical Christian, will ever claim that there is salvation in any other name than Jesus. (Yeshua). But when you claim you know Him, love Him, but reject and curse the work He is doing related to Israel, you becme a liar. And the work you are doing will be burned with fire. You are in danger my brother of facing jugdment for your apostacy. Please ask for guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will reveal the truth to you. Repent, and kindly stop repeating the same message regardless of the topic debated.

  6. “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits (proud ideas); that blindness (hardness) in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, there shall come out of Sion the Deliverer and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is my covenant (agreement) unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes.” Romans 11:25-28. The way that man talks he drives them away, the way he speaks of God is not the way the Jews should hear. He has not love a for their souls. What a shame. Without love he sounds like a bunch of noise and who would want to hear it? Dear Lord I pray for your people, for the gospel is for the Jew first and then to us (Greek) Romans 1:16. Paul says, “MOREOVER, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all thy that put their trust in Him” Psalm 2:12. The Palestinians need to believe the gospel. That does not change the fact that the land belongs to Israel/Jacob given to them by the Lord God forever, not to the Palestinians. I find it interesting how there is a similarity to the border of Mexico with the United States. They are also claiming that the land was stolen from them, you know Texas, California, Arizona, etc.

  7. I’m addicted to sexual sins, getting angry , pride, laziness, lack of sincereity towards God, and lack of repentance ,etc., that I’ve been committing for long time. Now that I want to be out of it, I realised that I
cannot. I’m bound in chains of darkness and addicted to sins. But still I’m in this bondage due to some reason. Apart from this, the enemy also tries to attack my hope and faith in God. He even tries and even succeded in making me angry against God or thinking I’ll of him many times.
I fear Hebrews 12:16 for myself.

Also the fact that I’m not saved and not bearing Christ’s fruit, is not at all comforting and that too added with the fact that God keeps emphasising through near death, etc  experiences so much that the rapture can take place at any time and that the time is at hand, ….. It’s frightening. I  don’t have eternal life right now. I really want it. The enemy tries to make me think the rapture taking place and I’m left behind, or me going to hell. Nothing can be worse.

Please pray to  Lord Jesus , MOST IMPORTANTLY, for my SALVATION. And to deliver me from all the bondages of sin and chains of darkness, completely and forever,to heal me and to baptize me in the HOLY SPIRIT and to make me a child of God and a new creation in Christ and To save me and give me eternal life.

    1. Paul says, “NOW we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM, that ye be not soon shaken (upset) in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (apostasy) first, and that man of sin (anti-Christ) be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you I told you these things” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5.

  8. Albin, You can be saved right this minute! Ask the Lord to save you! You seem to be convicted that is a GOOD sign. You know that you need Jesus! The Bible says we must be born again (John 3). We were born in Adam the sinner, The moment you believe that you are a sinner and need salvation, that Jesus died for you on that cross for YOU, He was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures you are born again, also you will receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the second Adam, if you are in Jesus, you are as if you never sinned. You understand? Jesus paid it all. Ask Him to save you. “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house (if they believe also)” Acts 16:31. We can’t ask Him for you, you must ask Him to save you. Satan will and does tell all Christians lies. We must not believe him, we must believe Jesus. Faith is believing what God says is true. Remember Satan is the liar. Read: 1 John 1:6-10. Get into the Bible and read it daily, and get into fellowship with another believer so you can grow. I will pray for you! “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”. Romans 8:1. Remember Christians will sin, but we can repent of them when we commit them to Jesus and we will be back in fellowship with Him. You can never lose your salvation. Believe with an honest heart. Jesus loves you! For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Amen!

  9. I am an ex-catholic and The Lord had mercy upon my soul this year to shine the light of his truth shine on me. I’m under bondage to sins and I’ve been seeking the Lord for salvation.

Recently God’s been pointing out some things that I need to focus on for my salvation. I heard God telling me that I need to give it all up completely to him, and give up all trust in me.
After growing up in 18.5 years of Catholicism, I’m not able to identify where All is it that I’m not giving up and holding on to self righteousness that I’m not able to enjoy God’s grace like everybody who is saved.

How do I stop looking into myself and look toChrist alone for my salvation. I want to throw all of myself into his feet, but I KNOW there are some heart issues, which are recurring my salvation. How do I identify them all which are hindering my Salvation and root them out. How to trust in CHRIST ALONE not only with my mouth in saying, but with my whole heart in believing.
I can’t seem to understand completely and hence believe that Jesus died to save me due to those issues.

I am feeling so confused that I I can’t even seem to identify what exactly am I worried about and what is the source of that worry

  10. Albin, It really sounds to me like you think you have to clean up your life before you can be saved. You know you are a sinner it’s obvious from what you wrote. We all deserved death. But God in His great love became a man in the person of Jesus Christ. He perfectly obeyed the law and he took the sin of all mankind on Himself. Now we must believe God, and that He paid it all! It is a simple act of faith to believe the gospel. “how that Christ died for your sins according to the scriptures; and the He was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures .” 1 Cor. 15:3b-4. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works (of any kind), least any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8&9. Salvation is a gift you only need to receive it. It is that simple. He then gives us the Holy Spirit who is the Comforter, and He will help us obey Him, see John 16:7-15. You need to then daily ask the Lord Jesus to forgive you your sins. And He will remember them not more. We don’t want to sin, but we will continue to sin but we don’t have to, we have the Holy Spirit’s help. We need to consistently repent to Jesus and He will forgive so we can be back in fellowship with Him. We will always have two natures until we go home with Him. Once you are born again you cannot loose your salvation. Please read John 1:7-10. You must be born again, and you can by receiving Christ as your personal Savior. . John 3:3. “And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

    1. Nannette,
God has been showing me very recently, things regarding salvation. He’s shown me my inner and heart problems.
He showed me that one of my major problems are self sins -self righteousness, self pity, pride, ego, envy, etc…

God saves People when they come to their end and are exhausted and give up on themselves. I have felt such exhaustion, but I don’t know how I have not come to the end of myself and am trusting in myself. What and why is hindering my salvation?

Why am I not at the end of myself? Why can’t I give up and trust in CHRIST alone?

  11. Albin, You said ‘why am I not at the end of myself? Why can’t I give up and trust CHRIST alone? My answer is this: You are unwilling. Example: When I got saved I did not know I was lost. But when God showed me that I needed to be born again while reading John 3, I asked Him to save me. He did. I trust Him, that is when I came to the end of myself-for I am nothing. When I read John 3 I knew I had to make a choice. Ignore what I had just read or ask Jesus to save me. “Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7&8. Jesus has done everything, He has become my righteousness for I have none of my own. I walk by faith and while I walk by faith the Lord is in the process of sanctifying me and this process is a daily walk, and it will go on until He calls me home and then I will see Him face to face. Awesome!

    1. That’s even more confusing. I feel I’m just going on and banging my head from wall to wall.
I’m also asking him to save me.
Did he save you immediately as you asked him?
Did you feel that supernatural experience that everyone mentions when they’re saved, like crying and feeling your sins are forgiven and feeling the presence and love of God into your heart?

      1. Albin, Yes Albin the moment a person realizes they need Jesus, that they are a sinner and can’t save themselves who believed the gospel -1 Corinthians 15:1-4, they are saved. Some people feel nothing. My brother in law when he got saved cried all the time. It’s been 5 years or more and he still cry’s sometimes. Some people leap for joy. I was hungry for reading the Bible and studying. Dear Albin please go on line and sign up to listen to the ‘J. Vernon McGee radio program’. He goes through the Bible every day. It’s called ‘The Bible Bus’. When I got saved I listened to him. My brother in law when he got saved also listened to him. We did not have a church to go to but the J. Vernon McGee radio program helps us to understand more. I will continue to pray for you Albin. Read your Bible. Start in the book of John and read all the way to the end. As you listen to J. Vernon McGee he will tell what they are reading. Read along. Put on your armor, read Ephesians 6. Satan will tell you that you are no good, not saved, he will keep reminding you of sin. But remember the moment you believed the gospel and ask Jesus to save you, all your sin was wiped out, past present and future! Blessings

    2. Nannette,

So what you are saying is that the Godly sorrow in 2 Corinthians 7:10 doesn’t always results in a conviction at a particular day or time?

People say that they remember the day and the hour when they were Saved. But I don’t remember any such specific time or day.

I’m reffering my questions, as Paul washer states in this video:

And not only him, but others, even preachers like Derek Prince say of the same thing, that salvation happens at a particular day and hour. When they feel Godly sorrow which lead to Salvation.
The Love of God moves into their hearts and they know with a conviction that their sins are forgiven and that they’re child of God.

      1. Albin, the video you posted by Paul Washer I watched. I am appalled at this preaching. He was trying to appeal to your emotions, he did not give the clear gospel. He said pretty much that you have to beg God to get saved, you have to have a feeling. He said, “How many times have you been saved?” The lady said 6 times and then he said cry out to God that you may be saved. That’s nuts-He said how many times have you been saved, and then he said she is not saved! He said you have 2 options most of you will think this is cruel- continue to cry out to God till he saves you. No wonder you were distraught. He thinks a lot of himself. This man is a false teacher, he is part of the ‘New Calvinism’. Calvinists believe that God chooses those who go to heaven and God chooses those who go to hell with NO FREE WILL. They preach another gospel. Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 or John 3:16-19, is that what he quoted? No he did not. Galatians 1:6-9 says, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” I would avoid Paul Washer and his false teaching. As for Derek Prince he is part of the ‘Discipleship/Shepherding movement’. Another false teacher. That group teaches the ‘Restoration of the Apostles and Prophets.’ In other wards they are the Apostles and Prophets they are on top of the pyramid and we are the sheep they rule over because they believe they are chosen to give us their false doctrine. Again Galatians 1:7-9 applies and so does this: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18, “Add thou not unto His words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:6. Albin, please choose wisely! “BELOVED, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1. Lastly, I had a man come clean my carpet. He tried to preach to me. I gave him the gospel, and he said I was deceived. He pretty much said that if I did not join their group I was lost. They have house churches and the visiting Apostles and Prophets teach them and I must listen to them to get saved. That is an example of the ‘Discipleship/Shepherding movement’, You understand? They are wrong! We have the Bible!

      1. Dear brother Ivar, I come on here when I have opportunity. I love reading your posts. I live in a household with unbeliever’s. My secret life sorta speak is fellowshipping with others where I can find them and also share the gospel when no one is here I can read and study. Praying that more people get saved especially Israel, for the gospel is for the Jew first and then also to us. Jesus has been so good to us, what a wonderful God we have. He loved us so much (though I don’t know why since we are so filthy) and paid our debt. How awesome! I’m so looking forward to being with Jesus. I just talked to man yesterday who said, “there is good people in the world”, and I told him no there is no one that is good. We have been lied to at every turn. If people would just open their eyes and see the wickedness in the world especially in false religion for the other side of the family is Catholic. It saddens me, I grieve. Some of the family are the same as I was before I was saved. They think they are fine and Jesus will say, “I never knew you.” The worse persecution comes from false religion. Just look at John Calvin the murderer. Thank you for exposing the Catholic Church. Blessings my brother
