Advances in artificial intelligence will soon lead to robots that are capable of nearly everything humans do, threatening tens of millions of jobs in the coming 30 years, experts warned Saturday.
“We are approaching a time when machines will be able to outperform humans at almost any task,” said Moshe Vardi, director of the Institute for Information Technology at Rice University in Texas.
“I believe that society needs to confront this question before it is upon us: If machines are capable of doing almost any work humans can do, what will humans do?” he asked at a panel discussion on artificial intelligence at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Vardi said there will always be some need for human work in the future, but robot replacements could drastically change the landscape, with no profession safe, and men and women equally affected.
“Can the global economy adapt to greater than 50 percent unemployment?” he asked.
– Transform manufacturing
Automation and robotization have already revolutionized the industrial sector over the last 40 years, raising productivity but cutting down on employment. Job creation in manufacturing reached its peak in the United States in 1980 and has been on the decline ever since, accompanied by stagnating wages in the middle class, said Vardi.
Today there are more than 200,000 industrial robots in the country and their number continues to rise. Today, research is focused on the reasoning abilities of machines, and progress in this realm over the past 20 years has been spectacular, said Vardi.
“And there is every reason to believe the progress in the next 25 years will be equally dramatic,” he said.
By his calculation, 10 percent of jobs related to driving in the United States could disappear due to the rise of driverless cars in the coming 25 years. According to Bart Selman, professor of computer science at Cornell University, “in the next two or three years, semi-autonomous or autonomous systems will march into our society.”
He listed self-driving cars and trucks, autonomous drones for surveillance and fully automatic trading systems, along with house robots and other kinds of “intelligence assistance” which make decisions on behalf of humans.
“We will be in sort of symbiosis with those machines and we will start to trust them and work with them,” he predicted.
“This is the concern because we don’t know the rate of growth of machine intelligence, how clever those machines will become.”

The final onslaught of evil is about to begin. Man has eventually been able to produce his replacement. And incredible foolish thing to do. It has been done my humans that are very intelligent, but completely lack wisdom. And behind it all is Satan, their Lord and master.
Jesus the Messiah has warned us about the age to come, and the consequences of rejecting Him. Man will be left on his way down the path to total destruction.
If your name is not found in the book of life, you will perish. During the coming age of judgment, God will open the books that will display the sins in your life. You will be judged according to your inability to follow the commandments of God of the Bible, a being that practice lawlessness. The wages of sins, is death. But life is a free gift, in Jesus the Messiah.
How to survive the age of the antichrist?
You will have to completely surrender to the will of your Father in Heaven, and continue to share the gospel in words and acts. The Messiah will protect His children, and eventually come to their rescue. For many Messianic believers, it will be a close shave. Others will be promoted to the kingdom of Heaven as martyrs.
Eternal life is already won. Jesus gained his victory on Calvary Hill in Jerusalem 2.000 years ago. You are invited to walk in the power of His resurrection. Sing spiritual songs and rejoice, as we face the last battles on Earth. Continue to store up riches in Heaven, as we prepare our selves for eternity with our Lord and Master. Amen.

I think you have the wrong idea that everything won’t be destroyed at Christs Kingdom come. And that not sinning saves you. Or perhaps I do. They recommend leading Holy lives but only the cross saves you, in other words Jesus. Paul says not to stop doing good, but not sinning is just not doing bad.

Please do not get me wrong. Yes, everthing will be destroyed inside the age of judgment. Also the robots. Their names will not be written in the book of life, even if the programers have told them to confess their sins…!!!

I have to laugh over the robot thing. At a hospital I was at they had a robot that was supposed to help out. That was when it didn’t fall over the dock or wasn’t malfunctioning. It was a waste of time. On the other hand there are some who believe in a computer god called Ai.
They’re only replacing whites.
