Many Russians in Israel celebrate the death of Pope Sylvester I, in a festival called “Novy God”.
Novy God, the Russian celebration of the New Year, isn’t just for Slavic speakers anymore. That’s the goal, at least, of a group of Russian-born Israelis who want to bring Novy God to the sabras.
They’re calling it the Israeli Novy God, in an effort to introduce the traditionally secular, family-friendly holiday to Israelis, with a quaintly designed website full of traditional Novy God recipes, songs, photos and the option to host or be invited to a family Novy God celebration.
“It’s a chance to get to know another new holiday, and to stop mixing it up with Silvester [the December 31 anniversary of the death of Pope Sylvester I],” said Alex Rif, who created Israeli Novy God with fellow Russian-Israeli, Boris Rozenberg. “Israelis would call Russians ‘goyim’ because we celebrated it.”

My comment:
I have been skeptical to the message of all claimed Russian Jews returning to Israel, as a fulfillment of Zionist prophecy. Surely among the one million people who left Russia for Israel, there were Jews who upheld traditions linked to Judaism.
But the Russian celebration of a dead Pope, who according to the Vatican departed on 31st of December 335 A.D, is surely not a fulfillment of such prophecies. It is but rather a proclamation of the rise in Zion of blunt anti-Christianity.
These deceived souls are not likely to return back to their, hardly confirmable Jewish roots, but will join in the celebrations of the coming last man of lawlessness.
Acts 20:29-31.
29 I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30 Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31 So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.
Only when you understand that the seat of popes are seats of antichrists, the true history of Christianity will be reveled to you. You will teach others that the true Messianic faith has been attack from within, since the claimed conversion of Emperor Constantine in 320 A.D. Paul the apostle warned us that there would rise false apostles from our own ranks, who decive and scatter the believers. This must be a classical example of such false apostolic deception thrown up on the people of Israel.
Please understand that the Jewish people, will walk into the ultimate deception. If they do not acknowledge their own Messiah. Not a “pope”, but a Jew who became the Lord for all who believe in Messianic Judaism. Without Him being reveled into a Jewish heart, Judaism will continue to be a incomplete religion. In Him, the way, truth and live if forever found. Amen.
Do not participate in the evils of deceivers, who worship the births, lifes and deaths of Popes.
Repent or perish.
