It is not enough to have knowledge about Jesus. You need to be known by Him.

Many people have knowledge about Jesus. But if I ask them what Jesus is doing in their life, they have no answer.
One of the ways to explain, is to use the example of Napoleon. I can have knowledge of most of what Napoleon did in His life. Simply by reading books about Him. Still I never had a chance to meet him.
This is the situation for many Christians. I have meet people who have Bible knowledge at their fingertips. But they have not met the risen Messiah. This state of mind will lead you into all kind of errors. Because there are no fruits of the spirit. Such person have not been put into His service, and become Kingdom workers. They have not been under proper shepherdship and become disciples.
I have also meet Christians, who have very little knowledge about the life of Jesus. But they know Him, and are known by Him. He is their shepherd. They forgive all who harm them, and share whatever they have. And they continue to bless people on their way. Some of them are illiterate. They have never read the Bible, but accepted the gospel when it was preached to them.
Let it be underlined: The Bible is the highest authority in all matters of the Christian faith. To have knowledge about Jesus and know Him personally, that is the way of life.
What kind of relationship do Jesus want us to have with him? Read this as a test of your own spiritual life.
Savior:
He wants you to confess that He is the only savior of mankind. Salvation is found no other name. Only He took your place on the cross, and shed His blood for your sins.
Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.’
To be a Christian, there can be no compromise on this doctrine. His is our only justification. If you do not agree, you will have to repent to avoid the comming wrath of God.
King:
The king of the Jews wants to be our King too. We are invited to be under His lordship, and obey His commands.
Mark 15:2
‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ asked Pilate. ‘You have said so,’ Jesus replied.
What King Jesus demands from us, can be different from person to person. What kind of sanctification we will have to go through. The work we will do for Him must not be compared. All of it is equally important. To mix justification and sanctification leads us into legalism. Let the Holy Spirit become your guide.
Brother:
Jesus consider us to be members of His family on Earth. Rebirthed by the spirit of God. He also has children after the flesh, the Jewish people. He cares for them too.
Matthew 12:49
Pointing to his disciples, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers.
Family members do meet regularly. We meet Him in fellowship and prayers. If you don’t, you have not accepted Him as your brother. Brothers are each others servants.
Friend:
You are not his friend, if you do not talk to Him, longing to have fellowship with Him. Friends share intimate details, and they do not harm each other.
John 15:15
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Friends stand up for each other in times of trouble. They have a lot to talk about, and do a lot of things together. You do not keep friends, who have proven that they are not worthy of your trust.
Do you only have knowledge about Him, and even do a lot in His name?
Matthew 7:23
Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”
Who is Jesus for you? Are you known by Him?
Written by Ivar
Peace to you Ivar.
The world is in chaos, there are many denominations all claiming to be Christian, all teaching their flocks traditions of men as doctrine.
And you ask the question
Who is Jesus for you? Are you known by Him?
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, He was crucified, buried and rose again on the third day, ascended to heaven and sits at the Right Hand of the Father.
The second part ot the question.
21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
The Lord Jesus has promises to reveal Himself to those have His commandments and keeps them.
The Apostles taught 1. Repentance and Faith 2. Baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord 3. Infilling of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 19: 1-7). This is how you get right with God and Kingdom entry. See John 3:5-7; Mark 16:16)
Peace to you.
I have just read the scriptures you listed and I read further on from Acts 19 verses 1 – 7.
Verse 7 tells us there were 12 men that Paul laid hands on.
Then the narrative tells us that Paul went to the Synagogue, with these 12.
8 And he went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God.
9 But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
10 And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Ivar tells us that fellowship is important.
It appears that the synagogue these 12 attended, rejected the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, they rejected also ‘the Way’, Christians were known as ‘followers of The Way’.
So Paul took the 12 out of that Synagogue.
Just interesting reading.
