Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland and Andrew Wommack have one thing in common. They preach that «Jesus died spiritually», and went to Hell. From there, their copy-cat Jesus will never be able to escape.

Many Word of Faith preachers, and thousands of Pastors in Charismatic Churches spread lies about Jesus of Nazareth. They have Spiritual fathers that teach the «Jesus died Spiritually (JDS) theology». This gospel comes from the same source as the «Replacement Theology».
This is serious stuff. Lets take a deep look into this matter:
This teaching is basically a result of an error in Biblical Christianity, that has its origin in a faulty translation of one word in the King James version. Its the Hebrew word «Sheol» . In the 1611 A.D version of the King James Bible the two Hebrew words Sheol and Ghenna have been mixed up. The British translators even used the Greek pagan word «Hades» to explain Hell. The result is an English faulty understanding of the true meaning of the lake of fire. Hell, where the wicked will spend their eternity. A place no one can escape from.
Here is one example of this error in King James version of the Bible:
2. Sam 22: 4-7. (King James)
I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid; The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me; In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
NIV correctly translate Sheol as grave: «the sorrows of grave compassed me about»:
Another example:
Psalm 16:10
For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (King James)
The soul of the Holy One is not going to Hell. His soul will not even rest in Sheol. (the grave).
A third example:
Jonah 2:2
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. (King James).
Jonah was surely not in Hell. He speaks from his possible tragic «grave» Sheol, in the belly of the Fish. Also I would have cried from such an close to «impossible» tomb of silence.
An translation error from Hebrew and Greek into English:
Anglicans, who do not share a concept of «hades» with the Eastern Orthodox, have traditionally translated «sheol» (and «hades») as «hell» (for example in the King James Version). However, to avoid confusion of what are separate concepts in the Bible, modern English versions of the Bible tend either to translated the word sheol or to use an alternative term such as the «grave» (e.g. the NIV). Roman Catholics generally translate «sheol» as «death».
The Gideon Bible, the New King James and the NIV-versions have all corrected the faulty original English translation in the King James version. This error in the King James version has resulted in many misunderstandings about what the Spirit of Jesus did in the three days his body was in the tomb of silence.
What is the Hebrew meaning of Sheol?
From the Jewish encyclopedia:
Sheol is underneath the earth. Hence it is known also as «Dumah», the abode of silence. Return from Sheol is not expected (II Sam. xii. 23; Job vii. 9, 10; x. 21; xiv. 7 et seq.; xvi. 22; Ecclus. [Sirach]. Eccl. xii. 5). It is “dust” (Ps. xxx. 10; hence in the Shemoneh ‘Esreh, in benediction No. ii., the dead are described as “sleepers in the dust”).
God’s rulership over it is recognized (Amos ix. 2; Hos. xiii. 14; Deut. xxxii. 22; I Sam. ii. 6 [Isa. vii. 11?]; Prov. xv. 11).
What is the Greek meaning of the pagan word Hades?
The Greek God (ruler) of the underworld is called Hades. God of the Bible has prepared a place for Him and his dark angles at the end of time. That is in Hell, the lake of fire. Hades is not hell.
What is the correct Hebrew word for Hell?
From the Jewish Encyclopedia:
The place where children were sacrificed to the god Moloch was originally in the «valley of the son of Hinnom» to the south of Jerusalem (Josh. xv. 8, passim; II Kings xxiii. 10; Jer. ii. 23; vii. 31-32; xix. 6, 13-14). For this reason the valley was deemed to be accursed, and «Gehenna» therefore soon became a figurative equivalent for «hell». Hell, like paradise, was created by God (Soṭah 22a); according to Gen. R. ix. 9, the words «very good» in Gen. i. 31 refer to hell; hence the latter must have been created on the sixth day. Yet opinions on this point vary. According to some sources, it was created on the second day; according to others, even before the world, only its fire being created on the second day (Gen. R. iv., end; Pes. 54a). The «fiery furnace» that Abraham saw (Gen. xv. 17, Hebr.) was Gehenna (Mek. xx. 18b, 71b; comp. Enoch, xcviii. 3, ciii. 8; Matt. xiii. 42, 50; ‘Er. 19a, where the «fiery furnace» is also identified with the gate of Gehenna).
(end)
The deceptive JDS (Jesus died Spiritiualy) teachings (gnostisism) that is preached by men like Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland, is often defended by a mixed up understanding of Gehenna, Hades and Sheol as Hell, found in the King James version.
The Spirit of Jesus did not «die», its an eternal Spirit. The Spirit of Jesus did not enter into Hell. While His body was in the tomb of silence, the Spirit of Jesus preached to the spirits in prison, who had been taken captive by the Kingdom of darkness. That kingdom is a present Kingdom. Hell is to the very contrary, prepared for Satan and his dark angels at the end of time.. And the «ruler» of the Kingdom of darkness is not in Hell, not yet.
1.Peter 3.18-19:
He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison. (NIV)
Also in King James this becomes very clear in this verse:
«Being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison» (King James)
From where did Jesus rise after three days?
Jesus did not rise from Hell. He rose from the grave, from Sheol. Jesus rose from the tomb of silence. Also our body, if we are not raptured before our body ends up in «a grave» or the belly of a fish, like Jonah. Our soul will be resurrected, and we will enter into our new heavenly bodies.
From where will people rise on the last day of Judgment?
Since the body of Jesus was in the grave, (Sheol) for three days, it might be the body of people who are in their, first, second or third day in Sheol who are going to be raised from the graves on the final day of Judgment. Thats going to be an awesome display of the Power of God. Even the sea shall give up its latest dead bodies on that day.
Will anybody be raised from Hell on the last day of Judgment?

The Rich man who was sent to Hell (Gehenna) is not going to be raised. Abraham confirmed that there is no way, anybody will be able to escape that place of horror.
What about the people who came out of the tombs in Jerusalem, the day Jesus died on the cross? From where did they come?
The people who came out of the tombs of the graves in Jerusalem (Matthew 27:52) and appeared in the city, all came from Sheol. Another example is Lazarus, who Jesus raised from Sheol on the fourth day. In John 11:39, Martha warned Jesus about the bad odor, expected after four days in Sheol, also called the dust of the Earth. If the soul of Lazarus had departed for Heaven, his flesh in Sheol would literally have returned to dust. Thats what is expected to happen with all flesh in Sheol. Jesus called Lazarus back in flesh and spirit from Sheol, not from Heaven or Hell (Gehenna).
Was Jesus ever tortured by Satan in Hell?
Kenneth Copeland is in a league of his own. He once preached that «Jesus went to Hell to be tortured by Satan». Thats another gnostic «Jesus» from a gnostic gospel. Why? Because Satan has not even been in Hell, not yet. He and his dark angels roams around feeding the children they have deceive with more deceptions. But Satan surely will end up in Hell, the day Jesus of the Bible will throw Him into the lake of fire.
Where did the Spirit of Jesus go in the three days He spent in the grave?

When Jesus was crucified, Jesus communicated with His Father:
Luke 23:46
Jesus called out with a loud voice, «Father, into your hands I commit my spirit»
When he had said this, he breathed his last.
If you think the Father of Jesus was Lucifer, who now tortured him in Hell for some time, than sent him back to Earth to deceive us, you have been deceived by the father of all lies.
This error in the Charismatic Churches, has lead this movement into several other errors and occult and gnostic practices. The latest is «soaking».
God is good, and will gives us all we need. And all true Christians are cheerful givers. But Jesus is not a fleshy God, that will make you a slave of your own fleshy prayers and expectations. Many American TV-preachers are false apostles of «Jesus- the-ATM-machine». They preach and teach the false «prosperity gospel». They try to deceive us into believing that a man can demand anything from God, and even expect monetary returns like brokers promises us from the Stock Exchange. The brokers never return their commission, when their promises fails.

Hey, stop, you might say: «These men and women walking in an «anointing» of signs and miracles. How can you say that their teachings are faulty?
Lets see what Jesus said:
Mathew 24:4-5:
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ, and will deceive many».
In whose name would these deceivers come?
Matthew 24:24
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.

Also Satan has the power to perform signs and miracles. Friendship with his false-Messiah`s will not help you on your final day of Judgment.
The Jewish Apostle Paul also warns us against false teachers who will come in the name of Jesus:
2 Corinthians 11:4
For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
Therefore: Choose wisely your Bible teacher, brother or pastor.

I do an interesting investigation into the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, which these tv preachers use to justify Jesus going to hell, here:
http://penultima.wordpress.com/2009/06/30/the-un-parable-video/
and
http://penultima.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/un-parable/
Check it out. The bible study discusses how Luke 16:19-31 should not be applied literally as a indicator to what happens when one dies.
Dear brother.
I have no time to check out your links today. But I will go through it and give you feedback. This matter is so serious, that I hope a lot of people will come forward and debate.
I heard me wife mention that Jesus went down into hell, when I challenged he, she became aggitated and insisted she was right because ‘that’s the teaching’ I found out later that she had been listening to Joyce Meyer on the ‘god-box’ TV.
I wondered how many other people have been deceived by this false teaching…Jesus sais ”You are deceived, not knowing the scritures’ Matthew 22: 29.
My wife and others have put so much faith and trust in this preacher .. but sadly, a little leaven leavens the whole. Very Sadducee.
Note that none of these TV preaches is Catholic. This is not Catholic teaching.
Dear David.
Good to have you back. Who said they are Catholics?
Just noting that this is a new teaching, not one held by the Catholic church. And we know that there can be no new teaching, not since Jesus lived and died.
Shalom Ivar, You are absolutely right about sheol. All the dead go there to await judgement on the last day.
I do not think that any body will be resurrected even if they died a few days before the final judgement. However, all souls will be resurrected. this is made amply clear by Yeshua himself.
Dear Ozzy.
Good to have you back too. Here you are wrong. There will be no judgment for those who have obeyed the Lamb of God. Their judgment have already taken place 2000 years ago, when Jesus washed away the stain of sins for all who obey Him. There are no longer any records of their sins to judge. Jesus said that those who believe in Him has already crossed over from death to life.
My last day, will also be different from your last day. When we meet Him, we will have to give an account to Him in Heaven.
The judgment on the last day will surely be from Sheol. If I am there at that moment, My soul will raise to everlasting life. Because the Holy Spirit has come and made by body His temple. The wicked who are in Sheol on the last day of Judgment will raise to everlasting contempt, and will be cast into the lake of fire.
I don’t agree with your thoughts. Read the parables of Jesus. The good and bad will be judged together. The good will enter the Father’s house and the bad will be cast into eternal damnation. Also rapture will be post tribulation.
Dear Ozzy.
Why do you think that Jesus can not pay for your sins while you are here on earth? I do not understand why people want to live without being sure that there is no judgment other than the perfect atonement for our sins that Jesus payed on the cross.
Catholics and Muslims alike have been told by their false teachers that they have to wait till after they have departed for a «may be, or may be not» eternal life. Thats not the gospel. (Good News). What you believe in is not good news at all.
Dear David.
You wrote:

My comment:
Not all errors are held by the Catholic Church. The first errors in the Christian faith started with different gnostic belief just after Jesus had died and resurrected. Satan has always worked overtime to twist and blur the good news about a risen Lord, that saves today. No judgment other than the blood of Jesus, shead for our sins 2000 years ago. No Purgatory, no soul sleep, no need to be frightened for a judgment beyond our departure from Earth.
So according to you, just because Jesus redeemed us ,you can go on sinning. This is absurd and ridiculous. Why did Jesus leave us with his teachings ? They are to be followed to the letter and spirit. That will be our salvation.
Dear Ozzy.
I never said that. When you have received the Holy Spirit, the Spirit will convince you about sins. When I have made a mistake, I have to go back to you and ask for forgiveness. Its a command. But the sins has already been payed for by our Master. He has set me free from the guilt and stains of sin. Sin is no longer my master. I have become a slave of His righteousness.
But, Ivarfjeld, if we do sin do we have to go back and ask forgiveness to the Lord?
Dear Ozzy.
Here is were I wish you had reached in your faith by now:
2 Corinthians 5:19
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
You have the chance to be reconciled with God now. In this moment. You do not have to wait for a man promoted uncertain judgment. Only when you accept the cleansing of the blood of Jesus, and fully understand what He has done for you, you will be born again by The Holy Ghost. Jesus, Set Ozzy free! Amen.
Dear Penultima
Shalom. You have blessed me by asking this question.
First. When we sin, we sin against God. Most of the sins we commit, we do in «secret». It all starts with a small unlawful thought in our mind. In specially when we are angry, we are not able to listen to The Holy Spirit. Thats why Paul says, in your anger, do not sin.
When we sin, we sin against a Holy God, our Father. He do not want us to sin!
Gen: 20:6
Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.
Gen: 39:9
No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?”
Daniel 9:11. The Jews had sinned against God, and had to ask Him for forgiveness. (end)
If there was no forgiveness for sins in this life, than the Jews would still have been in captivity in Babylon.
Jesus did not say that Christian brothers would be able to live without sinning.
Matthew 18:15
[ A Brother Who Sins Against You ] “If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
Pastoral care has nothing to do with ruling over others, like many «pastors» do. Its about love and care, and corrections.
Matthew 18:21
[ The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant ] Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]
The Jewish Apostle John explains to us what I believe is the difference between making a mistake, and doing will full sins. Again John is speaking about relationships between brothers.
1 John 5:16
If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that.
The problem within Christianity is that many pastors do not teach correct about what sin is.
The Bible says all wrongdoing is sin. (1. John 5:17).
James 4:17
Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.
Only «Pharisee Christians» will claim they are able to live a life without committing mistakes. They will try to hide their sins for God, and live in denial among mortal men.
When you sin, tell Jesus: «I am sincerely sorry». Than go and ask your brother for forgiveness. Try to avoid doing the same mistake again. Surely the Holy Ghost will help you. Amen.
Great answer. May the Lord (The Creator of all) be praised. I was glad to see that you still hold to the idea that sin is sin. I have extreme trouble with Christians, what you refer to as Pharisee Christians, who promote the idea that because Jesus died for our sins we are free from and free to sin without renewed reconciliation.
Dear Penultima.
Thanks for blessing me. Return to sender: Love and grace.
Hi Ivar, I come back to my point. All will be judged on the last day. Ref:Jn 3:13,5:28,6:39-40,14:2-3. Also your holier than thou attitude is quite comical. I do not mean to be sarcastic. May God bless you.
Dear Ozzy.
Shalom.
Im not holier than anyone else. I have to ask Jesus of Nazareth for forgiveness and mercy almost every day. But I might be luckier than you. Because I am sure He has forgiven me, and I have already received my citizenship in Heaven.
Jesus has already granted me one, as a free gift.
When you are sure about your salvation, its easier to obey Him, and to make Him your Master.
There are 3 doctrinal creeds dating back to about 290 -325 CE. The Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed and The Athanasian Creed. 2 of them specifically state that Jesus “descended into hell”. If he did or not does not matter to the discussion. What is important here is that these “Word of Faith” preachers are expounding on a doctrinal tradition dating back centuries to the early church. Even if it is wrong, It is not new and not heresy.
Dear Joebic.
Thanks for a positive and reflective comment. It does not matter what the Church have said or not. Its not the Church that is going to save us. Every time a «Church› or a preacher teach something that is not Biblical, it leads to apostasy.
The Church of our present age is wrecked by false teachings. Jesus warned us in advance.
“The British translators even used the Greek pagan word «Hades» to explain Hell. The result is an English faulty understanding of the true meaning of the lake of fire.”
The person who wrote this article is completely confused and ignorant. The New Testament was WRITTEN in Greek. “Hades” was the ORIGINAL word used by the Greeks who wrote the gospels and not a word used by “British translators”! They also used the words Gehenna and Tartarus. All three meant different things and whenever versions mistranslate all as “hell” this leads to the confusion. But Hades can’t be a mistake because that was the original word. Modern Bible versions that use Hades, Tartarus and Gehenna have actually got it right.
And Jesus did not “rise from the grave”. Jesus was laid in a tomb cut out of a rock. The writer should know this but apparently he/she is ignorant of much about the Bible. When Jesus said he would be in the “heart of the earth” for three days and three nights, this could not have been the grave. What is the point in him hanging around in a grave for three days. What was he doing, twiddling his thumbs? Preposterous.
Dear Roger.
Shalom, and welcome to this site.
The grave in a Hebrew context is a cave.
Isaiah 53:9
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.
Jesus said He would rise after three days. Not one, not four.
Matthew 27:63
“Sir,” they said, “we remember that while he was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’
Since Jesus confirms that He will be in the grave for three days, why should not that be in the «Hearth of the Earth»?
Matthew 12:40
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Jesus ministered to the spirits in prison. Why do you think that prison is a physical place inside our planet? The spirits in prison are everywhere in the Spiritual realm of darkness. The Abyss.
“Why do you think that prison is a place inside our planet?”
Em, sorry but you need to read more carefully. I never said this nor did I even imply it. I merely pointed out your ignorant error regarding British translators using “Hades” to explain “hell”. Hades was the original Greek word used when the gospels were written, which was originally in Greek. They used the words Hades, Gehenna, and Tartarus and the all meant different things.
And you didn’t mention what Jesus was doing for three days. Any ideas?
Der Roger.
Jesus gave up His spirit to His Father. The body of the Son of man was in the grave for three days. Than the Father sendt the Spirit back, and the Son of Man resurrected from the grave. The Bible says Jesus was the first to rise from the dead.
The Spirit of Jesus can not die. It has no beginning, no end. Thats why Hagin, Copeland and Hinn are wrong. They claim Jesus died in spirit on the cross. Thats make Jesus a mortal man, not divine.
Where did the spirit of Jesus go for three days? I guess first to paradise, together with the Spirit of the thief on the cross. Jesus also ministered to the souls in prison, in the kingdom of darkness, in the Abyss.
1. If the spirit of Jesus went to heaven right away, why did he meat Mary after his resurrection and tell her not to touch him because he hand’t ascended to heaven yet?
2. Who were these “souls in prison”? Do you mean Adam, Eve, Noah and the other OT patriarchs? Were they in the Abyss? Or did he only minister to the wicked who had died before him?
Dear Roger.
Shalom.
Thanks for asking two very good questions:
John: 20: 17: Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father.
Mary was not standing in front of the Spirit of Jesus. She was standing in front of the risen Son of Man. Jesus the risen Lord had not yet returned to His Father. The Spirit of Jesus have always been with the Father, and will always be. Thats why Jesus could say: «I and the Father are One». That why the Jewish leaders wanted to kill Him. Because He claimed to be God.
Jesus returned to His Father in body and spirit first during the Ascension from the Mount of Olives. From now onwards He would appear to us as The Holy Spirit. The Father, Son and Spirit is One God.
The Spirit of Jesus was ministering to the souls in prison. Jesus explains about Abraham doing the same, to the rich man that had been thrown into Hell. (Luke 17). During the transfiguration, Jesus is glorified before His resurrection. With Him is Moses and Elijah. They have already become Angeles, coming to meet Jesus from the Holy presence of God. Thats why evangelicals do not believe in «soul sleep». When we die we are transformed into Angeles, and are taken to Heaven with Jesus to served in the Kingdom.
Wow! You’re very confused. People are not transformed into angels. Angels are angels. Always have been, always will be. People Are people. Always have been always will be, whether we are alive in this body or not.
I’ve read this post, or whatever you’re calling it, and I noticed that you spend alot of time calling your brother’s ignorant. You also spend alot of time being judgemental.
I’m gonna pray for you. You need wisdom.
Dear Cheryl.
Shalom, and welcome to this site.

My comment:
Matthew 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
You are right. Angels are angles. And Jesus said many of them belongs to the devil, and will end up in Hell.
Now, what about the good angels? Those who are from God? Jesus said that people will become like angels. Either good or bad.
Mark 12:24-26
Jesus replied, “Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
Now, what about you, when you are risen from the dead?
Will you become an Angel of Jesus home in Heaven, or are you going to become an angel of the devil living forever in the fire of Hell?
Cheryl read your bible right!!!!! lol
This website has been a blessing to many in the past including myself, thus my reasoning for posting this reply.
It is extremely easy to take things out of context when it comes to scriptures. I’m sure that is something we’re all aware of.
What’s not so easy, is to judge the intentions of the heart.
Having said this, let’s take a little closer look at this scripture.
Mark 12:
24And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
25For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Angels don’t marry. Pretty simple.
We will judge the angels.
Angels can sin. But cannot be redeemed by the blood of Christ. That was for mans’ redemption.
Those names contained in the “book of life”, are far greater than that of the angels, whom are merely ambassadors and messengers of God.
Thank you for allowing this post.
Dear Wyldkatt
Shalom, and welcome to this site. Thanks for the blessing you just gave me. We are not battling flesh and blood, but principalities of evil in the realm of darkness.
People who worship angels, is in extreme danger of being deceived. Satan has an army of angels that are loyal to him, and would like to appear as an angel of light. The Bible says that Satan him self might come to you as an angel of light.
Thats why we have to walk with Jesus of Nazareth. I preach the Messiah crucified for the forgiveness of our sins. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the only thing that matters. Do you know Him? The risen Lord, our living God?
Dear Ivar. I hope you are well.
It is late in Norway, so I shall only ask you one question for now.
Forgive me for digressing from the present discussion, but you mentioned in earlier post:
The Bible says all wrongdoing is sin. (1. John 5:17).
I wonder, if all wrongdoing is sin, are all sins actual wrongdoings?
I have heard many acts and thoughts referred to as sin, acts and thoughts that would never harm anyone in any way.
Dear Axel.
Shalom, and welcome to this site.
You wrote:

My reply: Yes.
When we sin, we do not primarily sin against man. We sin against God. Thats is wrong. God of the Bible have told us what is right, and what is wrong. His Word is the truth.
When a man rubs another mans back, it might feel good for some time. From a human perspective, our act might be justified. But we have to take God`s perspective. And that is found in the Bible.
The Only Place In Our/The Bible That tells us All What Sin Is ? is 1 John 3-4…”Sin Is The Transgression Of The Law”….Period..thanks. what is the Law?..perhaps we could start with The Ten Commandments? Might be a wonderful place, since this was/is The Law…main other one I’d guess, from all my Bible study, would Be LOVE !..To The Law And The Testimony If They Speak Not According To This Word It Is Because There Is No Light In Them” (Isaiah 8:20) Is the Light of God’s Word Shining from Your Pastor or Priest Or Spiritual Teacher, From Your Church? I cant find that God named the days in the first place. Can you show me were it is written in the Bible?
Reading the Bible the other day. I read that any unrepentant sin is unforgiven sin we must always ask G-d to forgive us.. be humble, amen
I have never heard Andrew Wommack say Jesus died spiritually-when did you hear it?
Dear Jimmie.
Shalom, and welcome to this site.
I have watched Andrew Wommack on God-TV, and listen to a lot of occult stuff that the Word of Faith preachers normally teach. Go on the net, and google him, and you will find a lot of interesting stuff. Like:
1) Andrew Wommack is a 5 point arminian who despises the true sovereignty of God and preaches against the doctrines of grace.
2) Andrew Wommack says the biggest false teaching in the body of Christ is ‘The sovereignty of God’
3) Andrew believes if you are sick it is all your fault and you are not to pray to God to heal you, but speak to the sickness and cast it away, and if you dont get healed it is because of your unbelief which does not please the Lord.
4) Andrew is a word faith teacher and a huge fan of Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland and Charles Capps etc, 90% of his teachings come directly from these men.

What happened? Everyone gave up in January?
ivarfjeld, when people can not understand certain texts in the Authorized version (KJV), they call them errors. They then fall for the lies of confused modern translators (who exalt their scholarship above God’s authoritative word) who have added and subtracted from God’s word (KJV). The NIV, NKJV, NASV, and a host of other modern translations have already been proven to be corrupt. The translated words for hell from the Hebrew and the Greek in the KJV are correct in their contexts, your understanding is not. No one understands every thing in scripture, but I understand enough about these scriptures to know that you are very confused about Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, where Jesus (soul) went after He died and what He did, the resurrection of the dead, the judgment of Christians in the body of Christ at the Judgment Seat of Christ, Abraham’s bosom, the judgment of the unsaved dead at the Great White Throne Judgment (which includes those in hell now, Tribulation and Millennial saints).
While it is true that these word of faith teachers are teaching error in much of what they preach, you are also teaching error. Forsaking the Authorized Version (because of disagreement or lack of understanding) for the modern corruptions would be the greater error.
Can I prove every thing that I’ve said about your confusion? Follow the link below and not just browse and then criticize from a wounded ego, but study the author’s work as a Berean, and let the Holy Spirit open your understanding to sound doctrine.

My comment:
Your comment is off the mark. We who claim Jesus never taught in English, are not supporters of “confused modern translators”. The 1611 A.D British Bible is obviously a translated copy. So this “authorized version” surely had the approval of King James. But his translators faced some ancient Greek and Hebrew words, they did not manage to correctly translate into an understandable correct English context. One of the errors in the James version is the use of “hell”, when the correct Hebrew word used should have been “Sheol”. Sheol is not the eternal flames, the final destination for Satan and his children. Sheol is the grave, or the tomb of silence.
Jonah was not in Hell inside the belly of the fish. No matter how many times King James version of the Bible has been read out load in our Churches.
Jesus also spent three days in Sheol. Not three days in Hell, no mater how many pastors and priests who might claim so.
After Jesus died, “he went and preached to the spirits in prison” (1 Pet 3:19). Isn’t that prison not Hell?? If not what is it than??
Q: Why did Christ visit hell after his death?
A: He didn’t, if you mean by hell the place of the damned. There would have been no purpose in his going there.
The Apostles’ Creed contains this line in Latin: descendit ad inferos. In older English translations the word inferos was rendered as “hell,” but it was understood not to mean the place of the damned. The term actually refers to “those below”—that is, to the dead. It thus signified that he descended to visit the just who died in pre-Christian times and were waiting for heaven to be opened to them. This place is commonly called the limbo of the Fathers.
Jesus referred to this place when he said, “As Jonah was in the whale’s belly for three days and three nights, so shall the Son of Man be in the heart of the Earth three days and three nights” (Matt. 12:40).
The expression “heart of the Earth” doesn’t mean the grave, but the underworld, what the Jews called sheol, which was thought to be located at the center of the Earth. Sheol wasn’t a place of the damned but a place of departed souls both good and bad. It appears from the parable of Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19–31) that there was a place within sheol where the wicked were punished and another place where the righteous awaiting heaven were comforted. Jesus went to the latter.
Q: I was told that people who died prior to Jesus (including even those who were trying to live for God) all went to hell regardless. Is this true?
A: By his passion, death, and resurrection, Jesus opened heaven (CCC 1026). Prior to that time, the just went to a place referred to as the “bosom of Abraham,” where they would be comforted. But not all went to the bosom of Abraham. In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31), both Lazarus and the rich man died, but Lazarus was comforted in the bosom of Abraham while the rich man was in a place of torment. A great chasm separated the two.:
Scripture calls the abode of the dead, to which the dead Christ went down, “hell”—Sheol in Hebrew or Hades in Greek—because those who are there are deprived of the vision of God. Such is the case for all the dead, whether evil or righteous, while they await the redeemer: which does not mean that their lot is identical, as Jesus shows through the parable of the poor man Lazarus who was received into “Abraham’s bosom”: “It is precisely these holy souls, who awaited their Savior in Abraham’s bosom, whom Christ the Lord delivered when he descended into hell.” Jesus did not descend into hell to deliver the damned, nor to destroy the hell of damnation, but to free the just who had gone before him (CCC 633; cf. Roman Catechism I, 6, 3).

My reply:
All who have met people from the “King James only sect”, now how difficult it is to guide them. They simply do not want to listen,
Jesus from Nazareth did not teach in English, so the 1611 A.D British Bible must obviously be a translated copy. The kings men did some small mistakes here and there. One of them was to mix up the words Hell (Ghenna, the eternal fire) for Sheol (the tomb of silence).
All who have been a Christian for some time, know that there is a New King James version. In this version, the errors of the good old King James version have been rectified.
I personally use the 1978 print of New International version. It is not a faultless Bible, and do have some serious flaws. Like important Bible verses put down in the footnotes. But the language used, make it easy for all kind of people to understand. Also us who do not have English as our native language. I guess Jesus would have been one of our group members….!!!
I don’t use King James Verisons……I use the Revised Standard Verison Catholic Edition.
These 6 are a group that I will never watch on the tube, very interesting discussion..Thanks!
I’m not into this WoF movement, but I sincerely would like to know if some of the preachers are maybe just put in the bag with all the other… I have listened to Andrew Wommack and I haven’t heard him say Jesus died spiritually… he may be wrong on particulars concerning healing and prosperity (he generalizes a lot), but to me that is not essential of his teaching or heresy. There I think I can disagree. The essential doctrine, where I think it is important to agree as brothers and sisters is the teaching of salvation – and there he also teaches that Jesus is the son of God, received through the Holy Spirit, born by Mary, payed for our transgressions on the cross, died was buried and descended into sheol, but rose again from the dead after 3 days ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the father from where he will come again to judge the living and the dead…
He teaches:
“Jesus suffered the punishment for our sins, so there is no reason why we should suffer for them too. The price for sin has already been paid by the only one who could fully pay it and that is Jesus. All Jesus asks of us to make His redemption ours, is faith in Him as our Lord.”
The only time I read sth. about spiritual death was this:
“Physical death as well as every result of the sin nature (i.e. sickness, depression, fear, etc.) is only a by-product of the spiritual death that was already inside of us. The Lord told Adam that in the day he ate of the forbidden tree, he would surely die (Gen. 2:17). Adam didn’t die physically that day but he did die spiritually. Physical death came 930 years later for Adam (Gen. 5:5) as a by-product of his spiritual death.”
In this regard I just wonder, why is this relevant, does he want to make a point, that if we have faith in Him we would rise on the spiritual side and therefore have not physical death?… he doesn’t say it, but this would indeed be a bit out of touch with reality… and against the eschatology side of things.
all of you put up a very strong arguement, which really scares me because all of it/both sides are so very believable, what is the real truth? i feel im gonna end up in hell because i dont know the truth and for all i know,i could be following and believing false teachings. again, WHAT IS THE TRUTH?
George,
The Bible is the TRUTH. The complete truth. All you need to do is study and pray, and more importantly accept Jesus.
Those that preach a Jesus not of the Bible, is telling you a lie.
Those that preach the Word of God /Jesus according to his Word, is telling you the truth.
Galatians 1:6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel
i understand to trust the bible, but people really study the bible and digg deep which in result is, all of the strong arguements on,jesus did this and didnt do that and went here and didnt go there,…so on and so on, do u know what i mean? the truth im wanting to know about is all the deep digging/arguementive subjects, please help!
This sort of word of faith teaching is totally unrelated to so-called ‘replacement theology’. Indeed, almost all of these false teachers in the word of faith movement share a dispensational eschatology to the degree that they address such questions at all. Where could you possibly get the idea the word of faith teaching and ‘replacement theology’ share a common source?
Jesus was father he said my God my God why has thou forsaken me life had parted from Christ which was God life is God Jesus so went to sleep 3 days
You foolish person. IF Jesus did NOT go to hell then you would have to. He took our punishment, He is our righteousness, He is the Lamb slain for the world. All we have to do is accept and believe and seek Him. Don’t continue with his work of the enemy. seek for your self. The enemy is a spirit he must be delt with in the spirit. You are apparently a carnal Christian with the ability to type. Learn to study the word for your self and ask the Holy Sprit for directions before speaking out against God’s teachers.
