Bible studies # 31: Walking in the footsteps of Jesus the Messiah

Do you realize that your sins crucified Jesus, and that you deserved to be the one slaughtered on that cross in Jerusalem? Good. You have understood who you are, and what the only living God has done for you.

Many who claim they know the Messiah is not willing to follow Him, to be crucified to the desires of this world.

«How many of us believers are going out and doing exactly what Jesus did for others?»

Jesus told us in plain words that performing miracles and wonders in His name, will not give anyone the «ticket» to the Kingdom of Heaven. You have to do the will of the Father.

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Lets take a look on some examples of what separates a true follower of the risen Messiah Jesus from hypocrites and carnal «Christians»

Forgive:

Matthew 6:15
But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Jesus paid for our sins when we were all sinners. So we are called to forgive those who sin against us, with out setting up conditions. Do not say: «I forgive, and I forget». That is not forgiveness. Jesus will never forgive you, and than forget you. True forgiveness gives us a spirit of healing and reconciliation.

Share:

Matthew 25:35

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.

True Christians share what they have, and always desire to bless others. They walk the talk. Do not desire and promote blessings coming your way from others. Do never say that poverty is a curse, and bring a curse on your own head.

Give:

Luke: 6:38:

Give, and it will be given to you.

True Christians give everything they have to Jesus. They renounce this World as evil. and enjoy blessings in the Holy Ghost. Many people only give him a «tenth», or parts of what they have. They keep for them selves in abundance, an enjoy their life in the flesh. Storing up riches on Earth.

Tell:

Matthew 28:19-20

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

True followers of Jesus share their faith with others. They always tell the truth about Him, Regardless of the cost of doing so. When you make a mistake, be quick to ask Jesus for mercy. His love is endless for those who fear Him. Do not compromise and corrupt your self, by justifying sin. Do not be ruled by fear of men and society.

Jews:

Genesis 17: 17-19

Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?” And Abraham said to God, “If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!”

Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

If you ever met a Jew, do not harm him. The Messiah who scattered Israel, has gathered them again. Do not deny the Jewish people their birth right to return to, live and build in the promised land, Eretz Israel.

Go:

Luke 10:3:

Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.

True followers will go to the next village. They will look for a man of peace. We have to follow Him, The Messiah. Do not stay put in your house and watch TV day and night. Do not be of the opinion that simply going to a fellowship or a churches is what the Father requires, and that such attendance will save you.

Everyone wants healing and financial blessings. But were few people want to give up their fleshy desires, make a u-turn and follow Jesus the Messiah.

Since false Messiah`s has been granted the powers to perform miracles and wonders, this kind of manifestation is not always a proof that the Holy Spirit is present. But surely miracles and wonders will follow in your footsteps, when you do the Fathers will.

The only thing that Satan can not copy is true repentance, a fruit that follows those who preach Jesus crucified for our sins, and the only way to Heaven. There is no love outside of the truth. The truth is often painful. Worldly tears are crocodile tears of self pity. The guilt of the sin that crucified Jesus will produce godly tears. This is the only true signal from Heaven, that a person has been born from above.

Thats why John the Baptists said: «You brood of vipers. Show me fruit of repentance». They will follow a person who has been born again.

  1. I went to church tonight and heard a great sermon about Mark 6, when Jesus told the disciples to go out into the fishing boat and He allowed the storm to overtake the disciples. He was not making their lives comfortable and permitted the trial to to show them His glory. But they were not filled with faith and their hearts were hardened. They were living in amazement but not in faith, so much that when they saw Him they thought He was a Ghost. Faith is different than amazement. Faith is not biblical knowledge, carrying a bible or even memorizing scripture. Faith is doing what the Father asks and living every moment for Him in trust.
Our Christian walk is not about an easy comfortable life and He will permit trials to mold and shape us to be more like Him. If we did not go through these trials we would be missing the grace that is refining us in fire.

  2. I loved this… My friend and I were talking just the other day and have decided to go out into the community and witness. We feel that it’s a necessity… you can’t just wait for folks to walk through the church doors, and more than ever right now– it’s a must to be spreading the gospel. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

    GOD Bless you, Ivar:-)

    1. Dear Missy

      Shalom.

I do not care if my articles are liked or disliked by men. I seek and are in need of the continued approvals and blessings of Jesus.

That you like this article is an expression of your love for Him. You are also my sister, and I will talk to Jesus today about you. Request Him to give you unlimited boldness in your meeting with men who search for the truth. Amen.

  3. Thank you, Ivar, that’s greatly appreciated! You are in my prayers as well, continue to speak the truth my brother:-) That is why I come here an read every day… The world is seriously lacking truth these days. People confuse truth with hatred… It’s because we love them, as Christ loves us, that we must tell them the truth.

  4. That will .occur in the short time leading up to the second coming of Christ. then .living will experience some of the most dramatic miracles the world has .ever .seen Matthew 24 27-30 ……….

  5. Dear brother Ivar, blessings in the name of Jesus christ.
Today many Christians are becoming Devil’s prey.Especially in keeping the 10 commandments of GOD,which includes Seventh day Sabbath which they say it is only for Jews. But I must ask you one thing, whether you keep seventh day saturday as Sabbath or Sunday. And the calendar on your website started with Monday. So I was doubting
that you might have changed your sabbath day after you accepted Christ. This is just to confirm.
Daniel 7:25 “…thinketh to change times and laws”

    1. When you say we need to keep the Sabbath you assume we still live under the Old Covenant Law. We do not. Jesus came to fulfill it perfectly on our behalf. We can not do it. The Jew at that time could not do it. The Old Law could not save anyone. it pointed them and us to the coming Messiah, now Jesus Christ.

All Messianic believers can worship with every part of themselves every moment of every day in the freedom of Christ. There is no day set to worship. Our whole lives are to BE worship.

The idea that one has to worship on Sunday is a man made idea. Though I have to say it seems genuine due to Christ raising from the dead on Sunday morning.

The idea that a Messianic believer must still obey any of the Old Law is a trapping them in rules and there is no freedom in that. Also the Law states that if you obey one part of the Law then you must obey it all. So you cannot pic the first 10 then ignore the other 603. This goes for Christians now-a-days who think they have to bare the weight of 9 of the 10 commandments then ignore the rest.

This story is long, but please read it. It will help you understand the difference between the Law and the Law of Christ.

A woman married a perfect man. Yes a perfect man with no flaws. The night after their wedding he informs his new bride that he requires her to make him breakfast every morning. He tells her with great detail what he wants: two pieces of toast lightly buttered on each side, 3 pancakes with maple syrup and 10 strawberries on top, 3 pieces of bacon, oatmeal, fresh squeezed orange juice, 2 eggs not too hard and not too soft and cheerios with fresh goats milk. She is shocked but says she will do her best and wants to please him. She does an amazing job her first morning. As the weeks pass she cant seem to keep up with the stringent requests. She is burning things and forgets a few strawberries. The husband informs her she must comply. She is determined and keeps on trying but keeps failing. She is very disapointed. One night they both go to bed and one of them dies. The wife dies. The wife is raised to new life. Eventually she finds…yes…another perfect man and they marry. After the honeymoon the husband informs his new bride that she must make him breakfast. Yes the same exact extravegant breakfast as her first husband! She is extremely disappointed and frearful she cannot do it like last time. She resolves to try. Her alarm goes off at 0445. She finds the bed empty beside her. She walks into the kitchen and her husband is there and the extravegant breakfast is prepared. She says to him, “I was getting up to make you this breakfast.” He replys, “You don’t have to do anything. I’ve already done it for you.”

Now that is my Jesus! That is my God! That is my precious Lord and Savior! The first husband represents the Law. The Law was in fact perfect. The Law was also impossible to keep perfectly by any human. It is a foreshadow of what is coming. The second husband is Jesus who fulfilled the Law. And of course the woman is us, the Church, His beloved Bride. Chrurch, let Him do it! He has already been good on your behalf! You are free!!! Free indeed!!!

  6. I cant believe catholic people.why can you people read the bible.where in the bible does it say to worship idolls.are the virgin mary or for that matter to worship anything but jesus and god.where someone talk to these catholics and help these devil worshipers,i know thats a harsh word to use on these people.but its the truth, they worship the sun god and all kinds of demons, god be with you people and open your eyes to the truth
