Bible studies: The pre-cross salvation of proselytes

Was it possible for gentiles to get saved before Jesus died on the cross?

To be able to preach to non-Jews, the apostles were enabled by the Holy Spirit.
To be able to preach to non-Jews, the apostles were enabled by the Holy Spirit. Proselytes got saved.

Occasionally I get this question.  The key to understand Old Testament area salvation for non-Jews, lies in the correct use of the word proselytes. We can read about their presence in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

Acts 2:10
Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes.

A proselyte is a convert to Judaism. A person who is a non-Jew, but have deceided to leave his pagan “gods” and accept the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as the only God.

The first named proselyte was Ruth. She was not Jewish, but a Moabite. In her encounter with the Jewish people, she accept the Jews as her people, and their God as her God.

Ruth 1:16
But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.

How was it possible for Ruth to get forgives for her sins?

In the same way, as Jews obtained forgiveness. By her sacrifice being presented in the first or second Temple of Jerusalem.  By the offering of blood, and the Levites sprinkling of blood on her for the forgiveness of sins.

When we read King Solomon’s prayer during the dedication of the first Temple, we discover that prayers and sin offerings were offered also for the sins of non-Jews. These men and women were the first proselytes, sent by the Kings from all the nations on the face of the Earth, up to Mount Zion.

 1 Kings 8:41-43.

“Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake  (for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this temple,  hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

Also during the Second Temple period, the foreigners, the converts to Judaism travelled to Jerusalem to celebrate the Biblical feasts.  On the day of Pentecost, they had not arrived to celebrate the birth of the Christian Church. But rather a festival of Judaism, remembering when God spoke to them from the fire and smoke at Mount Sinai.

Since there were foreigners present in Jerusalem, God the Holy Spirit performed a spectacular miracle. When Peter and the apostles spoke, the God fearing proselytes heard the gospel being preached in their own foreign language. They all accepted the blood of the lamb of God as an eternal atonement for their sins. No longer they would have to bring sacrifices to the Temple, and present blood of rams, bulls and birds.

Being a large group of God fearing people, they knew the law, the palms and the prophets. A new covenant had been promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.

Jeremiah 31:31
Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

One the day of Pentecost, visiting Jews from all the nations  and proselytes accepted a better covenant.

Hebrews 8:6
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Please accept the blood of the Messiah, and let Him change you. Accept Him as Lord and God today. You will not regret.

  1. You are not far from YHE truth. The early believers did continue to celebrate the feasts, commanded for all followers forever. But the temple was destroyed. In the Millenial reign, with both Yeshua and His prince, sacrifice and celebration of feasts will resume (Ezek. 40-48; Zechariah. 14:9)

    1. Dear Chris

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

God will never call anyone to blaspheme against the blood of His eternally begotten Son, by restarting a sacreficial system of blood of animals. Ezek 40-48 must be read as a propehcy that was fullfiled in the establishment of the two ancient temples in Jerusalem. The vicory of the Messiah at the cross of Calvary can not be revoked. Only by His blood there is atonement for sins.

      1. Shalom Ivar!
Ezekiel 40-48 IS about the future Temple and sacrifices being offered on the Alter. I have been intensely studying the Scriptures for 10 years and came to this conclusion by the Holy Spirit. I am also in the process of ordination with The Seed of Abraham, http://seedofabraham.net/ you might wish to visit the website and also email Avram Yehoshua, the founder of the website, and ask him to guide you through the articles there to help you with this very important topic. Avram Yehoshua is of Jewish lineage and a firm believer in Yeshua, you’d really enjoy email exchanges with Avram, tell him Kalev sent you.

      2. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom and love in Jesus.

        You wrote:

        My comment:

I belive Ezekiel 40-48 have been fulfilled. There was blood offerings in the Second Temple in Jerusalem, built after Ezekiel got this messages from God of the Bible. After Jesus died on the cross, God the Father will never again call for blood sacrifices of animals. This kind of a “god” will be a witchcraft doctor.

God permitted the second temple in Jerusalem to be destroyed. After Jesus paid for our sins with His own blood, there was no need for a temple in Jerusalem. The Bible clearly say that our bodies are now the temple of the Holy Spirit.

I have to warn you in the most stern way, not to participate in worship with people who are inviolved in witchcraft in the name of “Christ”. They are not Christians, and do not accept the new convenant.

  2. There is a word that has crept in, it strikes at the heart and helps turn people away from the truth.

    Legalism.

It is true that salvation comes by the blood of the Lamb of God.

A person can try to keep Gods law, but if they don’t accept that the Son of God willingly went to the slaughter to pay theirs and everyone elses sins, they will not receive salvation.

    But.

The Bible reveals another view, and it is this one that many overlook and shy away from.

    Daniel 9
4 I prayed to the LORD my God and made confession, saying, “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments,

Daniel prayed specifically for a group of people who love God and keep His commandments.

    Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

    Note above ‘and keeps them’.

4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,

So, there are those who may claim to ‘know’ Him, however, anyone who says the law was done away with, has been deceived or caused to waver throught the use of that word ‘legalism’.

However, to understand, we have to look at the lessons Jesus delivered to the disciples.

The owner of the field sowed the seed in it, then he went away, while he was away a stranger came in and sowed tares.

Jesus came into the world and sowed the truth, Jesus ascended to heaven and Satan who is a stranger to God, came into the world and sowed false teachings in amongst the truth.

When an individual first comes to realise that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, they are at their most vulnerable, the seed has to take root in him (apologies to the female readers) while the seed of truth is their he also receives everything else the world has to offer and this blots out the light and can prevent the truth from taking root and developing to maturity.

Remember, the sower went forth to sow, the seed fell in places where the soil conditions vary and the results vary also.

Jesus is the sower, He knew as He was sowing that the seed would land wherever it did and it would either germinate and grow to maturity, or it would grow rapidly and die just as quick.

It all depends on the individual and conditions in them at the time the truth is received.

Lets now look at the life of the Apostle Paul, known as the Apostle to the Gentiles.

Christ has ascended to heaven, Paul is now an Apostle ordained to preach the Gospel yet we find in his writings that he continued to keep the feasts and statutes and taught them.

Much is written of the pagan practices of the Catholic church, but little is understood of the early churches that Paul and the other Apostles established. Paul issues warnings to the churches he established, regarding strange practices creaping in.

Like Christ, Paul had sowed the truth and then strangers came in amongst the churches planting false doctrines.

Like the ancients Israelites, the newly converted in Pauls time wanted to by like everyone else so they allowed falsehoods to come in.

    So we get to today.

The truth is this, the commandments that God said were forever are taught by some and rejected by many.

False teachers claim to know Christ, they will stand before Him on the day of judgement and give testimony of the miracles and excorcisms they have done in His name and He will say ‘away from me, I never knew you’.

It is therefore not enough to confess Christ, but it is a start, growth must take place, but the conditions for growth to maturity does not exist in everyone, and none of us can claim that we are better than the next, because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

The truth is this, a person can come to realise who Christ is, they can then study their Bible and put into practice that which is brought to their attention, and growth will start, they can be deceived by the world and knocked back, or, their might be some chance they can outgrow the tares.

If they do outgrow the tares then they will see more than others and their behaviour will change in accordance with what they see.

Paul established sound doctrine, he did not teach traditions of men for doctrine.

He did not teach people to sacrifice either.

But he did break bread in remembrance of the Lamb of God as Jesus had taught His disciples to do from the beginning.

Note however. The Catholics do not use unleavened bread, they use a wafer and, the disciples shared the bread AND the wine, the Catholics don’t share the wine.

The wafer is a disc and has links to the sun disc like the ancient egyptians had on their temples and the followers of Mithraism used.

Protestant churches use wafers too, but share the wine.

From the above alone, you can see how the original command given by Christ has been distorted by strangers coming in and bringing with them traditions alien to the teachings given in the beginning.

There is nothing we can do, the servants in the parable asked the owner of the field if they should weed out the tares and He said no, leave them until the time of the harvest, they will be gathered first and burned, then the rest of the harvest will take place.

Legalism is a word used to successfully scare new converts away from keeping Gods laws and commandments.

There is nothing wrong with keeping the commandments unless you start to believe that your salvation depends on you keeping them, no, your salvation came through the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, you keep them as a demonstration of your desire to show God you love Him for what He has done for you and what He plans to do in the future in establishing His Kingdom and proviging a place for you in it.

May God help His people hold fast. Amen

    1. Excellent points. Once we come to saving faith in Messiah and keeping all of God’s Law is how we show YHVH that we love Him and are willingly led by His precepts.

    2. Dear Allistar.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

That Jesus has paid for my sins, to not permitt me to go on sinning. The law makes me concious of sins, and the Holy Spirit reminds me when I transgress against the law.

The relationship between the law and grace is a 2.000 year old debate, still ongoing.

What makes us believers in the Messiah, is the perfect eternal antonement found in His blood. There is a salvation available, that has come to us as a gift. We can but buy, win or work ourselves into this salvation. We have to accpet that what took place on the cross 2.000 years ago, really took place, and is sufficient for our salvation.

If we love Jesus, we will keep His commandments. Not to get saved, but because we are saved.

      John 6:40
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

      Galatians 5:4
You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

      1. Dear allistair.

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Jesus spoke in parables. Why He did so, is not for us to answer. He did so. Our job is to learn from His messages.

      2. Going back to the question, why did Jesus speak in parables?

You said it is not for us to question.

The Disciples asked the question for us.

Your answer should come from the Bible.

God help you to search the scriptures for the answer. Amen.

      3. Dear alistair.

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I first wrote “not for us to question”, but than corrected my self to “not for us to answer”. Like we do not know why we are created. We just have to accepet that we are created. There is pretty litte we can do to change it!….

Jesus spoke in parables, and He explained things in an easy way. Why? I can not answer you. I just have accept that He did so.

      4. Allistair

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Sin is transgression against the law. When God spoke to Adam and Eve, not to eat from the tree, it was the law of the garden of eden.

        Psalm 19:13
Keep your servant also from wilful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.

        1 John 3:4

Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

      5. Peace to Ivar.

You brought to attention the actions of Ananias and Sophira.

I have reviewed the scriptures concerning these two.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Peter did not charge Ananias with blasphemy. He discerned that Ananias had been tempted to lie, not blaspheme, but ‘lie’.

The lie concerned the sale of property and what he and his wife said they were going to do with the proceeds and what they actually did.

This was not blasphemy, it was a lie, which is indeed a sin, but not an unforgiveable sin.

The wording of Acts 5 verse 3 is clear but bears close resemblance to verses that can lead us to believe that Ananias and his wife committed unforgiveable sin.

        Matthew 12
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

The sin Ananias and is wife commited resulted in their experiencing the first death.

Their sin was that they lied. Not any old lie, but concerning their intention to support the ministry, while holding back for themselves something they had pledged.

In Matt 12 verse 31 we read that ‘all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men’ and then, there is an exception.

Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

This then means, upon resurrection, Ananias and Sapphira might repent, they might be shown mercy because we are not in a position to judge, but we are in a position to look at what they were charged with, and scripture says they lied.

Now, we will not be called upon to give account for others, but we will have to give account for ourselves.

So, while I may appear to be pleading the case for Ananias and his wife, I simply have read the scriptures, read what Peter charged them with and understand that an example was made of them. I see from scripture that they were not charged with blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, they were charged with lying. Their sin was not unforgiveable, but, they paid the price.

        In Hebrews we read

27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,

Judgement does not come before death, it comes after, when we are resurrected.

If our names are not found in the book of life, what happens?

        Revelation 21
8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

And at this point I have to confess, the Bible teaches that ‘all liars’ which would include Ananias and his wife, will be cast into the lake of fire and experience the second death.

So, thought they did not comit the unforgiveable sin, they are liable to be cast into the lake of fire, even though Matthew 12 verse 31 says all manner of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven.

We could therefore go round in circles concerning Ananias and his wife and what the outcome will be when they are judged.

The Lord might be merciful and He might not be, but they do fall into the category of liars. But not blasphemers against the Holy Ghost.

      6. Dear Allistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

This is what the Bible says:

        Acts 5:3
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?

What you preach related to sin and the Holy Spirit, has nothing to do with Biblical Christianity. You preach that Ananias and Saphira seems to have been filled with Satan and lied to the Holy Spirit, since the Bible teach us so, but they might get a chance to be forgiven after death. That is very similar to Roman Catholicism, who teach that every man can be cleansed from his sins in Purgatory.

Another flaw in your teachings, is to make a difference between to lie to the Holy Spirit and to blapspheme against the Holy Spirit. Since Ananias and Saphira was struck dead by the Holy Spirit, will there be a more serious, and not forgivable sin against the Holy Spirit?

Keep in mind that Peter did not call them to repent, but rather oversaw their instant death. If you use humanism as a base to explain scriptures, Peter could easily have called them to provide all the cash they had promised the Holy Spirit to give to the Apostles. And than they would have been forgiven.

I have heard people say, that “it was Peters brutal rebuke who killed Ananias. He must have got a heart attack”. In this way they blame Peter, not Ananias, and nulify the Word of God.

      7. Peace to Ivar.

I got a lot concerned so I read your original article, to refresh myself.

There are errors there and all the comment have not addressed them.

You imply that the old covenant sacrifice provided salvation for Jews and proselytes.

        It did not.

The sacrifice paid the price for the year. That is why it had to be repeated.

So up until the new covenant there was no Salvation.

This is a strong statement to make.

But your Bible teaches that Salvation came by the Blood of the Lamb of God – Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament Era they were brought into agreement with God and anyone who joined an Israelite tribe and kept the statutes were considered Israelite by adoption and therefore no matter what the ethnic background, they too were considered God’s people.

God teaches us that He will write a New Covenant not written in the blood of bills and goats.

God provides the Lamb because no other perfect being existed or ever would without God being the provider.

Of course it leaves us all with a problem.

How will all the people who lived and died before Jesus came and was crucified, receive salvation?

Seek first the Kingdom of God and All things will be added to you.

The answer is in your Bible.

        Nothing is impossible with God.

And Salvation never did come by the Blood of animals.

      8. Dear Allistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Your theology is full of flaws. And what you try to teach the readers of this blogg is not inline with the Word of God. You apply scriptures incorrectly, and you have problems understanding what salvation is.

Salvation has always been an act of God, based on His forgiveness of sins and His grace. The blood is only an atoning sacrifice. The Bible says without the sheeding of blood, there is no forgivness of sins. There had to be blood sacrifices in Jerusalem, Old Testament times. Because God demanded so to forgive sins. He forgives. Not the blood.

Moses was saved. That is why he appears in the transfiguration. Not alone, but together with another saved soul. The soul of Elijah.

God of Israel do not play games with people. Neither before Jesus came in the flesh, nor after His death and ressurection. When blood was sprinkled for the forgiveness of sins, what was the purpose? To make that person a subject of God, His own chosen people.

        Exodus 15:2
‘The Lord is my strength and my defence; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

        2 Samuel 22:3
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my saviour – from violent people you save me.

        1 Chronicles 16:23
Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.

        Psalm 37:39
The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble

        Psalm 62:2
Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I shall never be shaken.

        (end of scriptures)

All this was written before Jesus died on the cross. After his death, the blood of animals could no longer be used as an atonement for sins. No forgiveness of sins would be granted.

The blood of Jesus gives mankind a better convenant with God, optaining salvation once and for all. In the atoning blood of Jesus, we have a not temporarly forginvess of sins, but have become parttakers in an eternal victory over sin.

      9. Peace to you Ivar.

Now you bring to attention specific individuals, who through their words declared their hope in God.

You quote scriptures and the individuals quoted say ‘my’ salvation.

Moses, Elizabeth, King David. Declared that they looked to God for their salvation. These are Patriarchs men of God. God called them and used them for His specific purpose and they walked with God. They in particular had a close relationship with God, so much so that they understood more concerning the Kingdom of God than many do today.

        You have mentioned Ruth.

She declared let your God be my God, she voluntarily left her people and her gods behind to be counted among God’s chosen people.

The men of God, the Patriarchs have their place in the Kingdom of God.

They were called by Him and as you correctly point out two appeared in the transfiguration. The transfiguration itself is a fulfillment of Prophecy Christ gave to His disciples.

Matthew 16 verse 28. Truly there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom.

Then six days later He chose Peter James and John.

The transfiguration gave these three a preview of the Lord Jesus Christ as He will appear in future when His Kingdom is established. Further more, the transfiguration reveals two who will be either Kings or Lords under Jesus when the Kingdom is established.

Your quotes concern men, chosen by God, who know through walking with God, what He has planned for them in His Kindom.

Ruth, she could see that the Israelites were a mighty nation. But even more so. She could see they were mighty because of who their God was and is. He made them mighty. It was there strength even though many could not see it.

        Their men of God could.

But, ordinary men of Israel were under the law and their annual sacrifice did not buy them salvation. It paid the price for the year just gone not the year ahead.

That is why a New Covenant was needed.

Jesus by shedding His blood became the once and for all sacrifice.

        Note the Word ‘all’.

But to fully appreciate how this applies to all and the Kingdom of God.

        That requires work.

Jesus said ‘seek first the Kingdom of God and All things will be added to you’.

        Incidentally.

        I asked you a question.

Why did Jesus speak in parables?

If you seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness He will reveal the answer to you.

In addition, if you want know why you were created, He will reveal that to you.

You have in other posts claimed to be an Apostle.

If you seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness He will add all things to you.

One will be discernment. That will enable you to discern who is a true Apostle and what their message should be. They were all given the same instructions.

May God help you in your studies.

      10. Dear Allistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        You wrote:

You have in other posts claimed to be an Apostle.

        My reply:

I have never climed so. I have been told by others, that I am an apostle. So for them, I must have appeaed to be like one. To claim to be an apostles, will open up a pandora box of what an apostle is. And it is only Jesus who can appoint one….

Many times I feel like Paul. I can identify with his calling, and all his struggles.

      11. Dear Allistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You also ducked the issue of salvation, beating around the bush.

The Jewish people had a covenant with God, where springing of blood was a sign that God had accepted their sacrifice and forgiven their sins. If a Jew, died the very next day, would he be sent to Hell?

I must conclude so, since his soul accorrding to you were lost, and God not able or willing to save him.

        Please answer.

    1. The Old Covenant involved the blood of animals, this provided atonement for sin, for a year.

The New Covenant is written in blood also. The Blood of the Lamb of God. One perfect man paid the debt for all.

The same law reveals our sin.

People get confused between law and covenant, covenant and law.

A covenant is a long term agreement, the author of the covenant is bound by it, and the other parties can agree with the terms and enjoy the benefits.

The Old Covenant offered Israelites a way to remain in fellowship with God. They could keep the commandments to a point but there annual atonement sacrifice cleansed them so that they could start afresh.

We know the northern tribes were led astray by their kings, they were given over to the Asyriians, because they broke the terms of the Covenant God, the Author had made with them. The people broke the terms, God had to do what He said He would. God the Author cannot break His Covenants.

The New Covenant has the same author, He has established the terms, He will keep it and we still have the choice.

The law is still the same. But, we enter into the New Covenant by accepting that God had a,Son. His Son Jesus Christ came lived among us, living a lawful life, then as was God’s will, the Son as the Lamb of God was sacrificed, spilling His blood establishing the New Covenant that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

God unfortunately has an enemy who He has chosen to deal with at the time of His choosing. That enemy and his helpers are out to rob God’s people of their inheritance.

Those who enter under the New Covenant become targets and anything and everything will be used by the enemy.

But, there now are two groups of believers in God.

Those under the New Covenant, they believe Christ has paid the price once and for all. And those who don’t believe.

Those that do believe must walk by faith in the blood of the Lamb.

Those that don’t are still waiting for Messiah to come, they believe they are still bound by the need to make sacrifice.

The pope has given these, people a false message. He told them they can have salvation without believing in Christ.

The Bible teaches that one day Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

But while the tares remain, confusion will reign.

The Master told His servants not to remove the tares, we can identify them, but not remove them.

Sadly, if we went into a field of corn that is badly infested with weeds, we find that if take out the weeds the corn falls over and the head rots before the kernels are ripe. The Lord in His infinite wisdom knows what He is doing.

God bless and keep His people Amen.

      1. Dear Allistair.

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        You wrote:

Those that don’t are still waiting for Messiah to come, they believe they are still bound by the need to make sacrifice.

The pope has given these, people a false message. He told them they can have salvation without believing in Christ.

        My comment:

There are two issues here. Can people be forgiven and saved, without beliving in the New Testament explained exclusivity of the blood of Jesus?

Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Orthodox Jews and the Pope says “yes” they can, rejecting Biblical truth.

The second issue is the claimed inclusivity gifted in the blood of Jesus. Since “all sins are paid for”, we hear religious people claim that even sinners who do not belive this, stand redeemed.

The New Testament explains that sin against the Holy Spirit will still lead to death. This is a sin that will never be forgiven. And the death of Annanias and Saphira prove those who say that “all sins are forgiven” to be liars. God still demand us to OBEY His eternally begotten Son, who now are represented by the Holy Spirit on the face of the Earth.

No doubt that only a few will be willing and able, to make it through the narrow gate.

      2. By mentioning Annanias and Sophira the topic broadens.

These two sold property and claimed to have handed all the proceeds over.

They lied, their punishment came quick.

They entered into the first death.

They will still be resurrected, they will face judgement before the Lord Jesus as we all will.

It may be that they will escape the second death, we cannot judge, but the account of what happened to them is written for our benefit.

May God help us all learn. Amen.

      3. Dear allastir

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You must not question the absolute authority of Scripture. When Jesus said that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, we have to take this at face value. When Peter spoke to Annanias, it was pretty clear what he had done. With the horrible consequence that followed. This event created fear of God among the belivers. It is recorded for us to do likewise.

      4. Jesus was charged with blasphemy when He spoke the truth, so too must those who speak the truth now, expect the same charge.

The Bible teaches there are two deaths.

We all experience the first, unless we are alive when the Lord returns.

Annanias and Sophira experienced the first death immediately for their deceptive behaviour.

They await resurrection to judgement in the same way as everyone who ever lived.

It may be that their heartfelt repentance before theirs and our Judge, the Lord Jesus Christ will be sufficient. If not they will be cast into the lake of fire.

We only know that they died and we’re buried the same day. And we know why death came upon them suddenly.

But, they must still face the throne upon resurrection.

There is resurrection to judgement whereby those found worthy whose names are in the book of life will enter in. And those whose names are not written in the book will be cast into the lake of fire.

As Jesus will judge, we can only serve Him now and live in Hope that by the Blood of the Lamb we are found worthy.

May God watch over His people and His Word till His Kingdom comes Amen.

      5. Dear Allistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

When the Bible use the word “eternal”, “never” and “forever”, who are we to question if God is just or not?

If we can not understand the meaning of such words, the Bible will be a closed book. You can just use the scripture in whatever way you like.

      6. Where did I question God’s judgement?

Annanias and his wife claimed to have sold the field and given the proceeds to the Church.

They lied to their brethren before God.

Also, in retaining part of the money they revealed a lack of trust in God to supply all their needs.

They did not have to sell the field.

But they made a public declaration concerning their field and what they would do with the proceeds.

God says the wages of Sin is death.

God passed judgement on them for that particular act. He took them there and then.

But God is both just and merciful.

We place our hope in Him. We share our knowledge of Him.

When Annanias and Sophira face the throne of judgement He may show them mercy, because when they are resurrected they will be filled with spirit and realise the gravity of their actions before they were taken.

They were used as an example for us so that we don’t make the same error.

I hope for mercy, hope you do to.

      7. Allstair

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I understand that you pledge for Ananias and Saphira. But judgement is not based on feelings, nor by the amount of tears. When a sin can never be forgiven, it can never be forgiven. Not today, and not tomorrow.

Eternal means “forever”. And nothing else.

        Mark 3:29
but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.’

You have some stranges opinions about the throne of judgement. You should rather base your faith on the Word of God.

Yes, I have received mercy. And I fear God. Thanks to Jesus I will be kept safe from sinning against the Holy Spirit. Amen.

  3. Alistair

    For your information and investigation.

    Canon 924
The bread must be only wheat and recently made so that there is no danger of spoiling.

The instruction Redemptionis Sacramentum further specifies:

[48.] The bread used in the celebration of the Most Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice must be unleavened, purely of wheat, and recently made so that there is no danger of decomposition.

    Canon 926
According to the ancient tradition of the Latin Church, the priest is to use unleavened bread in the eucharistic celebration whenever he offers it.

  4. The bread is to be in the form of a whole load, broken and shared.

Not individual circles placed whole in the mouth.

Look at the words you have been taught to use.

Jesus did not give His instructions in Latin.

His was a celebration of Passover not the Eucharist.

    1. And the bread was unleavened, in accordance with Torah, which Yeshua was obedient to His entire life while on earth. Nowhere does the Torah ever indicate that God’s laws, ordinances, commands or instructions would ever be “done away with” as long as heaven and earth exist, as Christendom teaches.

  5. Ivar, I was disappointed in your reply to my thoughts on Ezekiel 40-48 and upset at your implication therein. Please visit the website I provided a link for and ask for any article that may be related to future sacrifices in the Millenium. And please do not imply I follow a witch doctor god, I didn’t expect that from you.

    1. Shalom.

      There is a problem.

      Look at what is written

      Ezekiel 40 verse 4

4 And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart upon all that I shall show you, for you were brought here in order that I might show it to you. Declare all that you see to the house of Israel.”

Ezekiel was among the Jews in exile.

The house of Israel had been taken away by the Assyrians.

Most choose to overlook this fact.

Ezekiel was to declare what he saw to the house of Israel, not the house of Judah.

Ezekiel remained with the house of Judah and did not carry his message in person to the house of Israel who had been taken by the Assyrians.

His message was put into print, included in the canon and can now reach the house of Israel today.

Just as Christ sent His Apostles to the lost sheep of the house of israel, Ezekiels message is going out to the same people today.

May God watch over you and keep you.

    2. Dear Kalev Efrayim.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

Ivar, I was disappointed in your reply to my thoughts on Ezekiel 40-48 and upset at your implication therein.

      My reply:

I am not called to please men. But to stay loyal to Jesus the Messiah. No other blood than His can cleanse a man from his sins. Those who promote sacrifices of blood of animals, are involved in witchcraft. They do not believe in the new covenant, and will not be saved.

Since God neither needed a physical temple in Jerusalem, nor the ancient sacrificial system of blood sacrefices, God of Israel permited His own temple to be destroyed. Just as the Messiah had prophecied.

God the Father demand that the Jews shall accept His eternally begotten Son as Lord and God, or perish. That is the message of Peter, John and Paul, all of them Jews.

      John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

Many Orthodox Jews have never come to terms with the offer of salvation in the blood of the lamb of God, but have rather cursed them selves by cursing their own Messiah. Blaming the “son of Miriam” for cursing the Temple in Jerusalem, which they claim led to its destruction.

That Messianic Jews do understand this error of Orthodxy, is not so strange. They are filled with the Holy Spirit and guided by the Messiah. But even secular Jews do understand, when explained to them. I have shared the gospel with a lot of them.

Do not promote Orthodox Judaism as truth, in particular when they demand blood of animals to be sacrificed for sins, claiming God will accept such atonement. Do not worship with such decieved souls, even when they claim to represent the Messiah. But rather rebuke and correct them.

      1. I do not, nor have I ever, promoted Orthodox Judaism as truth and I have some serious issues with Messianic Judaism as many observe the first day of the week (Sunday) as the true Shabat, serve unclean foods at events and other unbiblical practices.

      2. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Unclean food? I do eat pork. Will there be a place for me in heaven?

      3. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

A new Levitical priesthood. From where are these priests going to appear?

Why would God of the Bible replace the New Covenant priesthood which includes both of us?

      4. Shalom aleikhem Ivar,
I thought you were Jewish and obeyed the Commandments, yet you eat pork? If you are intentionally breaking any commandment it is my understanding you may be looking at eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. But you would claim I am referring to works based salvation?

      5. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

It is a strange “god” you proclaim. Who condemn Jews who eat pork to Hell, but permitt believing gentiles who eart pork to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

What is there in the pork, that makes the cleansing blood of the Messiah null and void for people of Jewish origin?

To proclaim Torah-observant salvation is Orthodox Judaism. Either you proclaim it in the name of the Messiah or not. It has absolutely nothing to do with Evangelical Christianity, and the faith in salvation by mercy and grace offerd by Yeshua the Messiah.

I now understand that you reject the New Covenant. You have been decieved by a cult.

  6. If blood sacrifice was required, then the birth death and resurrection of Christ would become irrelevant,God destroyed the temple for a reason, the new covenant ,the end of sin sacrifice through animal slaughter,Gods son the lamb given up to abolish and cleanse and create anew .when he has finished with mankind on earth and our judgement comes what purpose would be served to begin animal sacrifice again the third temple is Gods kingdom it is a place of purity a ‘paradise”

    1. Dear Rommgirl.

      Shalom and love in Jesus.

Just a small correction. God did not destroy the temple. But rather permitted the temple to be destroyed by the pagans. It is an important differnce her. The followers of Jupiter in Rome did destroy the Temple, and massacred around a million Jews in 70.A.D.

You might also be aware that God did punish the Jews during the destrcution of the first Temple, a fact that is written in the Tannakh of the Jews, which we call the Old Testament.

      Jeremiah 25:9
behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

Only Orthodox Jews do not like to be remined about this fact, that a pagan king was called a servant, a tool of their God.

Related to the plan for building a third temple in Jerusalem. It might be built. But not because God of Israel demands it. But because the Jews who reject the new covenant, will use the prophecy of Ezekiel 40 onwards as their justification for doing so. I say “might” be built. I am open for this possibility, but see it as unlikely. Since 70 per cent of the Israelis today are secular, and almost two million of them are Muslims, Israeli Arabs. The Orthodox Jews only account for 10 per cent of the population.

There is already a Temple Mount in Jerusalem. If the Orthodox Jews are permitted to worship there, they will do it. Even inside the dome of the rock, which can be used as the “temple” of the emerging One World religion. This religion is a rainbow union of people who reject the New Covenant, and desire peace between all men, but not based on truth.

  7. PS:Ivar and other’s i know a lot of pagan’s,witches and follower’s of the old Gods that are totally against animal sacrifice and believe it to be a barbaric’,we cant say all christian’s practice there faith the same way ,we should not say all pagan’s do either

    1. Dear Rommgirl.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I never said that all witches are indulged in blood sacrefices. You comming from Roma background, are obviously aware of this. What I have said is, that after Jesus death and ressurection, sacrifices of animal blood for the forgivness of sins amount to witchcraft.

      Why did i mention Roma?

I work with saved gypse people in a tribal community in India. I have seen the use of blood, presented to their idols. I have also seen the horrible consequences that followed.

  8. Roma have a strong connection to the earth, many are mixed in there religious believe,my grandfather was wesleyn and converted to catholisim to marry,i dont know of wesleyn religion ,but he should of not become a catholic and would of been better just staying a pagan of the earth,i on the other hand was raised a catholic ,but do not practice that faith and would of been better off raised a pagan LOL,Also God did bring about the destruction of the temple it was all in his plan ,but carried out by mans hand just as is now with with whats going on God’s will and plan executed by man’s ignorance and hand

  9. Gypsy’s are very much a mixed bag when it comes to religion. My ancestors came from Budapest’we are euro Roma .Raised in superstition and laxed catholisim, but no animal sacrifice or blood letting,Many have a view that we are kin to Satan and pratice the dark arts ,i had a old hag Nazi say i was the dirt of the earth,i agreed with her because;Adam was also made of the dirt of the earth and shaped by God

  10. PS; can anyone tell me what is Wesleyn is and from what religious root does it stem, not up on all the endless off shoots of christianity.thanks Naomi

    1. Hi Rome girl.

Wesleyan chapels exist in the UK.

They are Sunday worshippers who keep the same calendar as the Catholic Church from their beginning they were protestant in that they reject the authority of the pope.

Wesley, was the surname of the founder of this movement, at the time it started he would have been considered charismatic. People flocked from far and wide hear him speak.

      He also wrote hymns.

There is more that can be said.

Where I live there are eight chapels.

      Six have closed.

Of the two still in use.

One demolished the main building and worship in their school room.

The other was down to five members, yet refuse to go and worship with the other group and vice versa.

Could that be the falling away, or should we look elsewhere?

      1. Dear Alistar

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        You wrote:

        My comment:

This is again a bad advice, and I can no longer permitt you to to “teach” on this blog. You should not deicive Rommgirl to take a stand against these two evangelists and church planters.

Rommgirl. Please do some homework, and read about the Wesley brothers on the net. They were true Christians, who Jesus used to minister a revival in the UK. They never desired a “Methodist Church” to be named after them. As little as Martin Luther desired a “Luheran church” to be named after him.

The Wesley brothers called the Pope an antichrist, and were abolutely not supporters of the Papacy. Neither are they “sunday worshippers”, but did call people to fellowships on Sundays, also Sundays.

The Wesley brothers underlined that all Christians must have true fellowship with Jesus every day of the week.

I go for fellowship on Sundays too. That do not make me a “sunday worshipper”. I just accept the fact that 90 per cent of the people who are Christians do have Sunday as their day of rest.

What is the “the same calendar as the Catholic Church”. Do you follow a different calendar than the rest of Christians? I do seek for wisdom in the Jewish callender, but still live and act inside the month of August 2015.

      2. What does YHVH have to say about the day of rest? (All from the NASU)
Genesis 2:2 & 3, “2By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”
Exodus 20:8-11, “8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”
Exodus 31:12-17, “12The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 13’But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel,’ saying, ‘You shall surely observe My Sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. 14Therefore you are to observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death. 16So the sons of Israel shall observe the Sabbath, to celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.’”
Numbers 15:32-41, “32Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation; 34and they put him in custody because it had not been declared what should be done to him. 35Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘The man shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.’ 36So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.”

      3. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        Exodus 31:15

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.

        (end of scriptures).

If you read the Old Testament, God called the Jews to stone a lot of people to death. Do you think that God still desire that the Jews should stone all who sin against the law of Moses?

        If the answer is “No”:

How will you escape the sin of calling the Jews to disobey their God? Or has a better covenant with God solved this issue?

      4. Scripture hold the answer in the words of Yeshua,
Matthew 5:17-19 (NASU), 17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 7:21-23 (NASU), “21″Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22″Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23″And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS (Psalm 6:8).’”

      5. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love Jesus.

You ducked my question. Should the Jews kill Israelies who do not keep the Sabbath? I am expecting a simple yes or no.

      6. No, without a Levitical Priesthood it would not be just.
You are aware that there will be a Levitical Priesthood during the Millennial reign of Messiah Yeshua?

      7. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Based on your “no”, we can come to some kind of agreement.

Both the Levitical priesthood and the Temple is gone. Since they both are gone, something new has come. A New Covenant, where the Messiah abolished death penalty as a punishment for sins.

He abolishied the death penalty by defeating the sin that caused death, and granted all belivers eternal life. All who belive in Him, have been made eternally alive!….That is simply astonishing good news.

        John 5:24
‘Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

    1. Would you mind explaining what that statement really means?
The RCC appears to be alive and well in cahoots with Islam today to destroy YHVH and His faithful ones.

      1. The building used by catholics to celebrate the mass in my community is closed and for sale.

      2. You and some friends should purchase the building and use it for intensive Bible studies.

      3. WHAT rubbish, what is your religion Kalev,The RCC is not in cahoots with Islam you bias ignorant butt kisser, most if not all catholic’s are 100% against Islam part of the papacy role is to be impartial and to be tolerant to move forward and not make the errors of the past,The pope is bound also think logically !!!

      4. Shalom ROMMGIRL,
I practice no religion, I have faith in the God of the Bible, YHVH, and that through His Son I have assurance of everlasting life, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in my life now.
You haven’t been paying attention to the news of the Pope/ RCC and their positions on Islam, their backing for a Palestinian state and bias against the secular nation of Israel have you?

  11. Cant stand rattle snake preaching by any of these type, thanks Alistair they must be the group behind wesley missions,my ancestors migrated to England from Budapest and lived in the Suffolk region were many gypsies resided and no doubt converted from there original religious believes

    1. Maybe maybe not.

Ivar seems to believe the Wesleyan were true Christians.

Indeed there was a massive religious revival when the movement rose to prominance.

Does that prove they were of God?

      No.

False prophets and teachers will preach in the name of Christ deceiving many. There was a lot of speaking in tongues and talk of miraculous wonders.

We should never let signs and wonders sway us.

Did they preach and teach the commandments.

      Did they keep them?

      No.

The tools to assess a person are in the Bible.

You have to use them on yourself first.

    2. I practice no religion either,as in i do not attend church etc most that preach the word are false,i do not follow the papacy, nor do i agree with all that happens within that religion, but as human beings we have an obligation to find a peaceable solution that will include all, that also means the pope has to except all side’s .whichever step he takes there will be issue’s with one religion or another, even on this site we bicker with each other on our opinion. Many comment that they believe this is the time of tribulation the begin to the end,i believe we have lived in a perpetual tribulation period since Christ death,,but yes there is worse to come,God’s patience with us is not infinate

      1. Dear Rommgirl.

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        You wrote:

I practice no religion either,as in i do not attend church etc most that preach the word are false…

        My comment:

This is again parts of your private opinions and presumptions, that contradicts the Word of God.

        1. The Word of God say you must attend fellwoship, it your are Christian. If not you live in rebellion and sin.

        Hebrew 10: 23:25
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

        (end of scriptures)

The first believers joined fellwoship everyday, and the Lord added to their numbers daily.

        2. Most who “preach the word”, are not false. As long as they preach the Word, you are in a place which Jesus takes pleasure in attending. The problem we face are preachers who do not preach the Word, but have become story-tellers. They might read a verse from the Bible, before they use the next hour to sell stories. If they quote from the Bible at all.

  12. Do not worry Ivar,I am not easily swayed, Alistair has a right to express his opinion on other religious groups, just as you or I,he and i and a lot on this site have differing opinion.I have a dislike for manic preacher’s,those who think they do good by preaching there empty sermon’s at you, often they do more damage to people and turn them away than toward God,i am of the opinion that they think this is paying there place with God

    1. Dear Rommgirl.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Do not listen to preachers of work-salvation. That is a false gospel.

Salvation in by grace, alone. The Westly brother’s preached that a man can only be saved by the finished work of Jesus on the cross, alone, by grace, alone.

The Westly brothers called people to repent, and be baptised. More than 30.000 people came to faith in Jesus during the reivival that followed in their footsteps. Unfortunately, most of the members of the Methodist Church today accept infant baptism. But not all Methodists.

The relationship between the law and grace is an ongoing 2000 year old debate. We keep the commandments because we love Jesus, and fear God. Not to get saved.

      1. I obey the Commandments, that apply specifically to me, because I am saved, love Yeshua and have a saving fear of YHVH.
1 John 3:21-24, “Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God; and whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. This is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son, Yeshua the Messiah, and love one another, even as He commanded. He who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. By this we know that He remains in us, by the Spirit which He gave us.”
1 John 5:2 & 3, “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. His commandments are not grievous.”

    2. No comment to kalev about fellowship,he has assurance that he will enter the kingdom because he has faith in God of the bible and his son Jesus, but has no religion I to believe in God of the bible and his son Jesus the saviour but im in rebellion and sin, why’s that ivar,Secondly there are many false teachers and you know it,My only teacher is his word,I can only have faith in God and that his judgement of me will be merciful, but i would never make the assumption that i am assured a place in his kingdom, many on this site seem to think they are doing it all right and above the other “Christian’s of other faith’s ,remember kalev non are without sin and we all will face judgement, blessings brother’s

      1. PS Kalev what do you mean by you obey the commandments that apply specifically to you,i dont get that,I thought all of God’s commandments applied to us all ,we dont pick and choose what suit’s,we are suppose to keep all of them 1-10

      2. Dear Rommgirl

        Shalom, and love in Jesus

How are you a part of the body of Christ, if you do not have fellowship with other parts of the body?

You can easily say, “I love Jesus”. But do nothing of what He reqires of you. That is deception. To have felloship with other belivers is considerd ABC in Biblical Christianity.

    3. On Aug 29 you posted to me here, “PS Kalev what do you mean by you obey the commandments that apply specifically to you,i dont get that,I thought all of God’s commandments applied to us all ,we dont pick and choose what suit’s,we are suppose to keep all of them 1-10”
I am referring to the entirety of Torah. Look at Leviticus 12, for example, “Laws of Motherhood”. The only part of that commandment I an obligated to is to see that my wife circumcises our male child on the eight day of his life. Other parts of the Torah in Leviticus are exclusively for the sons of Levi, as far as I am aware I have no connection to the tribe of Levi genetically. Praise Yah that He revealed to me through His Spirit that I am descended from the tribe of Ephraim (Efrayim).
Ivar has accused me of rejecting the New Covenant – INCORRECT. I believe the “New” Covenant is an extension of the “Old” Covenant, which was written on stones cut out by the Hand of God. When one accepts Yeshua (Jesus is okay to use here if one wishes) as his Savior YHVH (God) begins to transform a persons heart of stone to a heart of flesh wherein He can write His Laws on our heart and He gives us His Spirit so we can begin to walk in His statutes, commandments and ordinances so we can become the Royal Priesthood He intended them to be (which was before the rebellion in the desert after being freed by YHVH from the slavery of Egypt). I obey Torah because YHVH has provided salvation for me through His Son Yeshua haMashiach and it is my obligation for all He has done to provide me redemption from the final judgment to come.
(Kalev is the Hebrew rendering of the English Caleb of the tribe of Judah and we can see how faithful he was to God and His promises, and why I adopted that name for myself.)

      1. Dear Kalev Efrayim

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

        My comment:

You claim you obey the law, to escape the final jugdment. That is work-salvation, a bid to optain, work and achive rigtheousness. You are bound to fail, and will become a hypocrite who point fingers towards others, while hiding your own sins. Your own multiple failures in your bid to obey the law.

Paul the apostle warned us about men like you. Men who reject the New Covenant, and try to falsify the gospel of grace.

        Galatians 3:10
For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’

        Galatins 2:3-5
Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

        Galatians 2:21
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!’

Salvation is found in Jesus the Messiah, alone. Man is saved by His grace, alone. Only by His finished work on the cross, a man can be saved. In His blood, alone, there is atonement for sins.

I believe the “New” Covenant is an extension of the “Old” Covenant.

The Bible say the “Old Covenant” of animal blood sacrifices will fade away. It did. Both the Levitical pristhood and the Temple are gone. The laws who regulated the blood sacificial system have been made null and void, never to return.

        Why?

Because it did not work. The Jews at large continued in rebellion and sin. The sacrifice of blood of animals did not take away the guilt of sins. Therefor, God offered us His Son, and said: ” I will remember their sin no more”. (Jeremiah 31:34).

Please read Hebrews 10, all over again:

10 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshippers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

‘Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
        but a body you prepared for me;
6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings
        you were not pleased.
7 Then I said, “Here I am – it is written about me in the scroll I have come to do your will, my God.”’

8 First he said, ‘Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them’– though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, ‘Here I am, I have come to do your will.’ He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

        (end of scripture).

Brother. You have to leave that cult, and come back to the throne of grace. And accept the New Covenant to be fully sufficient for salvation. Do not add works and selfrighteousness.

      3. Ivar,
I read your last two replies directed towards me. You are a false teacher, presumptuous and twist the words of Paul to suit your cultic beliefs. I am done with your News That Matters and false teachings.
I will now unsubscribe to all your emails. I would suggest others check you much closer to see that you are a false teacher, a man that claims to be Jewish and proudly declares he eats pork is an indicator.

      4. Dear Kalev.

        Shalom, and love in Jesus.

Yesterday, you linked up a post from the blog, and branded me as a trustworthy man to Rommgirl. After I told you the truth about your promotion of a null and void levitical pristhood, you changed your mind. First than I became a false teacher.

I am not Jewish. I am a Norwegian by birth, which I have stated dozens of time on this blog. And I do eat pork. You do not. Neither do all Muslims nor Orthodox Jews.

May Jesus the Messiah bless you, and call you out of the cult who has enticed you. The people you listen to, are preachers of neo-levitical orthodoxy in the name of the Messiah. This is crepy deception. They do not believe that the New Covenant put an end to all kinds of religious Levitical ideologies. There are many of such among Ultra Orthodox and Orthodox Jews.

If you remain put, and keep on defending this falsehood, you will share the destiny with all other who refuse to be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb of God. The blood of the lamb even cleanses pork-eaters.

  13. Shalom Ivar.

The ‘Israelites’ had a covenant with God. The tribe of Judah, in modern times known as the Jews were 1/12th of the Israelites, the covenant was with ALL Israel.

Then you move to the modern doctrine/teaching.

The children of Israel were commanded to keep the feasts and provide a lamb without blemish at passover, this started before they left Egypt and was established as an annual act of rememberance giving glory to God for bringing them up out of the land of Egypt.

The religious authorities were to sacrifice at other times but there were specific instructions to each family.

You question, if a Jew died the next day, would he be sent to Hell?

The answer to that question is both yes and no!

I’ll address the yes part first.

The word hell is a mutation of the word Sheol. Sheol translated into English means ‘grave’.

The Jew has sadly passed away, his family go into mourning and bury him in a Sheol (hell). He has gone to hell.

There is a teaching that the saved go to heaven when they die and the unsaved go to hell when they die, the hell they go to, is the lake of fire.

But look at what the Bible says.

    Revelation 20 verse 14

14 And death and HELL were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

If Hell is going to be cast into the lake of fire, then, hell cannot in itself be the lake of fire.

So, the Jew does go to hell because he died and it was the custom to bury the dead in Sheol (a grave).

The Jew will be resurrected and stand before the Lord Jesus to be judged.

    26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

So the Jew that died in our example, will come up out of his grave (Sheol, hell), now, according to what the Word says, if he has ‘done good’ he will pass into the resurrection of life, and if he has done evil unto the resurrection of damnation.

Now, the Jew in the example lies asleep in his grave, awaiting the resurrection, which direction he will go is not for me to speculate.

But what is true, we don’t go to hell immediately upon death, we await the resurrection, and hope it is to eternal life.

    1. Shalom aleikhem Alistair!
You seem to have a better grip on Scriptural understanding than most posting here, blessings to you.

      My comment:

You appear to be a hobby “teacher”, who do not do your homework. But continue to present truth based on your own private opinions. You must stop this, or leave News That Matters. I am getting pertty tired of spending time in a bid to correct you.

What about doing a basic google search, before you write more comments on this blog?

Sheol is the tomb of silence. No fire at all there. The english word for Sheol is “the grave”. Jesus called Lazarus out of Sheol.

The Hebrew word for “Hell” is Gehenna. It is litteraly the valley of Ben-Hinnom, just south of the city center of Jerusalem. This was the place where children of the pre-Jewish pagans were sacrificed in the fire. Jews later, at the time of Jesus physical presence in Jerusalem, used this place to burn their garbage.

In Ghenna, the buring of garbage went on without stop. A place with an eternal fire. Jesus used “Gehenna” to explain what Hell would be like. Many Jews understood the message. You twist it, and lead people astray.

  14. Shalom to you Ivar.

My reply to you using scripture explained the resurrection.

The time when all who ever lived will stand before the throne to be judged.

Those who have done good to eternal life, those who have done evil to the lake of fire.

You looked for something in my reply to pick me up on, which is your responsibility as the author of this blog.

So now, you correctly agree with me that Sheol is the grave, the tomb of silence.

So a grave exists and dead people are put in it. Hell is also a mutation of that word.

You correctly reveal that the Hebrew word for the lake of fire, which we are taught is Hell, is Gehenna a physical place where fires burnt constantly, are there fires burning constantly today?

    NO.

God Himself has prepared the Lake of Fire, the second death from which there is no salvation.

    So, lets recap.

There is a sin, that is unforgiveable.

To Blaspheme the Holy Spirit is unforgiveable. Those who comit this sin, will be resurrected to judgement, they will be cast into the lake of fire if they are found guilty of this by the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge the nations.

Lets learn what exactly is the Sin of Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

It is a vital lesson to learn and the scriptures have to teach us so that we consciously avoid not doing it.

As this is your blog, and this is a Bible study please tell us in your words what this sin is according to scriptures.

    1. Dear Allistar

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You wrote:

      My comment:

Lets take one topic at the time. Lets talk about Sheol and Hell, so noboddy reading this ever again, will mix up these two differnt places.

      1. Sheol is not Hell. Sheol is the tomb of silence. Hell is the everlasting buring fire.
      2. Jesus did not say that a vally in the southern suburb of todays Jerusalem is Hell. So there is no need for an everlasting fire there TODAY.
      3. Since there WAS an 24 hour ongoing fire on that place, Jesus used Gehenna to exlain what Hell would be like. Since non of the listening Jews had been there, a place of no exit and return. A godforsaken place, where no sane man whould desire to spend eternity.

Many preachers mix up Sheol and Hell. The most serious mistake of the translators of the King James version is found her. This error is the base and reason for the confusion among many evangelicals. There are preachers who do not touch other Bible versions than King James, which they uphold as the error-free Bible version.

This error in the King James Bible translation was correted in the New King James version. Please google and read. I have also made a story on News That Matters on this topic.

      https://ivarfjeld.com/2011/07/19/confused-preachers-claims-jesus-went-to-hell/

      1. As you rightly point out, the translators made mistakes and we must study closely.

I have tried to simply put forward what the Bible teaches.

In places the Bible says Hell and is referring to the lake of fire, in other places it says Hell and refers to the grave.

So, there are those who believe people will go to the lake of fire and there are those who believe in the resurection.

Those whose name is written in the book of life to the Kingdom of Heaven.

And those who do evil into the lake of fire, which is the second death from which there is no salvation.

Now there is only one issue.

Do you believe in the Catholic version of direct to Heaven or direct to the lake of fire when you die?

      2. PS. The link would not work, but I went to the news that matters home page and read the post concerning copeland Benny hinn and others who preach gnosticism.

        A very informative article.

Interestingly a very well meaning person registered me to receive the copeland magazine ‘victory’.

This came in the front door and out the back.

I did cancel the subscription and discovered who registered me.

They do know that I cancelled and why.

They went from Copeland to Hinn, from Hinn to Wommack, from Wommack to their current false teacher. Crevlo Dollar.

        Some people cannot be helped.

We who are learning must be prepared to accept correction.

Do believers go to heaven when they die.

Do unbelievers go the lake of fire when they die.

Or, will all who are not alive when Christ returns be resurrected some to eternal life and others to the lake of fire which is the second death.

  15. Interesting reading this morning on Enoch in the Talmud,It open’s up a reasonable argument on the corruption and sin of man,and also his redemption from sin MOSES being told by GOD to smite them {the nephilim] and the seven generations to come from them WOW,God say’s they have been corrupted by man,but it is they who are infact corrupting and teaching man what they should not after there fall from the kingdom,Azazel has a lot to answer for [ie]HE will have the sin of all man upon him in final judgement interesting indeed
