Nigel Farage has repeated his attack on the first-past-the-post voting system, saying he felt the 3.8 million voters who backed Ukip should be better represented.

Writing in the Independent,he said: “It is my view that the first-past-the-post system is now totally bankrupt. It has turned general election campaigns into “please vote for me, I’m not quite as ugly as the other one” situations, rather than parties fighting over policy positions and serious issues. It has directly led to a campaign of total negativity and triviality.

Mr Farage also said he would “think seriously” about his next move, and hinted he wanted to play a role in an referendum on the EU.
He said: “I say that, though it nags in the back of my mind that this majority Conservative government has promised a referendum on Britain’s EU membership. I guess I face some tough decisions.”

My comment:
When a political party gets 12,6 per cent of the votes, are honored with only one of 650 seats in a parliament, “Houston” we have a problem.
The British Independence party (UKIP) came in second in 156 constituency. In the british system you can get 49 per cent of the votes, and possibly not win a single seat.
The Conservative party got 36 per cent of the votes, and captured a clear cut majority. The Scottish Nationalist party got 5,4 of the votes, and was handed 56 seats. No doubt that the people of Wales and Northern Ireland feels the discrimination.
Let us at least hope that David Cameron and the Conservatives see that the people in Britain wants to remain independent. And not be assimilated into the European Union. Let us pay for a “no” vote in the upcoming promised referendum.
Romans 13: 1-3
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
David Cameron has earlier said that England is a “Christian nation”, and should remain so. Let us hope he do not compromise. Unlike Obama, who have said that Islam is as American as all other religions. Every government is permitted to take office by God the Bible. May Jesus the Messiah bless the next government in the United Kingdom.

Shalom brothers and sisters.
first i would like to make a few points about the so called christian David Cameron and that fornicator Nigel farage .
first of all Nigel farage attended a strip club full of harlots. He said so himself. It was in Strasbourg if i am not mistaken. I refuse to acknowledge any political party led by a fornicator. Secondly David Cameron spat in the face of god when he legalized gay marriage. On top of that several conservatives are known sodomites Nigel Evans being an example. As a uk citizen i see all government as illegitimate as all political parties reject the word of god.
ps sorry for any incorrect spelling and grammar my phone sucks. Be very interested to hear ivars views on what i have to say.
Dear mikecoe
Shalom, and love in Jesus.
Regardless if Nigel Farage goes to bed with prostitutes or not: The UK electorate system is not fair. A system where 49 per cent of the votes can be trashed, and give millions of people zero representatives in the Parliament, is bad. Very bad.
When it comes to David Cameron, the same logic should be applied: Christianity must never be equalized with Islam in the UK. Even non Christians live in freedom and liberty in the UK, because of a 500 year old Christian value system. Reformed Christian nations was never under the yoke of Fascism, Catholicism and Communism.
Thanks ivar for getting back to me.
you do raise some interesting points on both christian morals and the electoral system in the uk that will give me food for thought. But ask yourself this what if actual fascists like the BNP get a big share of the vote. A chilling thought.
Dear mikecoe
Shalom, and love in Jesus.
The BNP is free to stand for election. Every citizen is free to vote for them. And free to not vote for them. My point is that the citizens of reformed Christian nations have been blessed. They have been parts of free nations, in most of the post-Reformation area, in regards to Christians ability to preach the gospel without being persecuted. The citizens of the free Reformed world have had the liberty to chose between a life ruled by Christian values and morals, or to continue in paganizm.
The UK’s first past the post system is only truly viable for a 2 party political system. When you have a wider variety of parties, it rapidly ceases to function satisfactorily.
And of course elections only work when everyone-all parties, and the entire electorate, are confident that it is being conducted fairly with no corrupt influence, and are happy to accept the overall result without resorting to violence or bloodshed. It is notable that the last 2 UK elections have had significant instances of electoral fraud associated with them-abuse of the “postal ballots” introduced by t blair, multiple votes from a single person, “deceased” people having a vote….voter intimidation in Scotland, Tower Hamlets and elsewhere, certain candidates simply “left off” the ballot papers, ballot boxes full of votes arriving late, or going missing. One wonders just how much longer the eu officials will decide to allow voters to actually VOTE in elections in the next few years. These sort of discrepancies never happened in previous occasions. Its as if it has been arranged as a way to gradually and systematically erode confidence in a free vote, and encourage people to demand a “strong leader” instead…..
But ultimatey, everything is in Gods hands. I didnt vote “tactically” as some sections of the media was encouraging us to, with the aim of keeping out a Labour/SNP coalition. I can only pray, and vote according to my own conscience, before God, which is precisely what I did.
Interesting that you quote Romans 13 verses 1 – 3 in your comment.
Romans 13: Be Subject to Government
1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;
Now, whether we like the system used to elect a government of this world or not, that is the system that has produced a government.
God says be subject to it, not question it’s legitimacy or the system by which it came to be.
Mr Farage attempted to become involved by putting his name forward. The people in that area knew how the system worked and so did he. All he needed to do was convince enough people that his policies were the right ones.
The result has been counted and he did not secure a seat.
Those who believe in God and His promises should not concern themselves in whether the worlds governments and the systems which bring them to power are bankrupt or not.
All governments will fail.
It is a sad fact that in Britain individuals base their voting decision on what they will get not on what is best for the nation.
I think it was JFK who said ‘think not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country’.
That is not something people are willing to consider anymore. Political leaders don’t want their voting public to think like that either, it far easier for them to instill fear of what they stand to lose if they vote a certain way.
However. Once the results are in, then we end up with this situation.
The spread of votes across the country and the percentages reveal a different picture and if one wants to make an issue of it they will and this will cause civil unrest.
Praise the Son of God for it was He who said that nation will rise against nation, which correctly translated reveals it means ethnic group against ethnic group.
Who, among the British hopefuls played the immigration card?
And again, we have the Scottish result another ethnic group looking to rise up against another ethnic group and have it’s voice heard and hold to ransom national stability in order to have their voice heard.
Believers however, should simply respect the result and get on with holding fast to the truth and let those who have turned away from God rise up against the system they look to for salvation.
Whilst Mr Cameron claimed to be christian it was his previous government that passed legislation legalising same sex marriage, changing the definition of marriage which was not in his parties manifesto before the last election.
What did the prophet say?
Isaiah 3
12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths.”
Mr Cameron through the governments actions have legislated a way of life into law that goes against the Almighty, he has caused many to change their minds considering same sex relationships. Churches are starting to change their minds as well in order to become inclusive and all because the head of the government introduced a law that was not mentioned in his manifesto – his to do list for his proposed government.
Yet, I will respect the fact that he put his name forward for the job and the result of the election using a system that all participants knew and accepted to work with and his party came out on top. He will have to answer for his actions to a higher authority in due course.
May the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob have mercy on his soul, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
Shalom alistair
i appreciate your reply to my comment. But allow me to make a point to you regarding the legitimacy of the uk government. It says in the bible that idolaters swindlers thieves and homersexuals will not inherit the kingdom of god. Is it not a christians duty to fight with god whenever he sees an injustice. Does the bible not say that if you are afraid of disapproval or loss of a job how can you be expected to give your life for god. I have no doubt you are a good christian but we must fight to protect our rights to practice our faith.
It is true, that those you list will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
But your next point – is it not a christians duty to fight with God whenever he sees injustice.
The Lord Jesus Christ spoke a parable.
The owner of the vineyard planted it, then he went away, and another went in a planted tares. The servants asked if they should go in and remove the tares and He said to leave them till the time of the harvest. When the time comes, the tares will be gathered first, and burned in the fire and then the real harvest will be done.
There is no fight, where injustice exists it exists, those who are guilty of it will be dealt with at the appropriate time.
Your next point regarding fear of disapproval or loss of a job, how can a believer be expected to give his life for God.
The Lord Jesus Christ taught,
Mark 13
11 When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.
We should not deliberately go out of our way to antagonise anyone, but if and when life delivers us into a situation, we must rely on Him to put the right words in our mouths in order that His will be done on Earth not ours.
And as for fighting for the right to practice our faith.
The above verse again should lead us to understand that practicing our faith will possible get us into trouble, we will not need to worry what to say, He will provide the right words directly to our hearts and all we have to do is say what we receive at the time, not rehearse in advance what we might ‘need’ to say.
In the meantime we should give thanks that we can freely spend time studying His Word so that we can call to mind His promises to us in our time of need.
Who gets elected and how is not something that should concern those who say they believe and trust in the Lord.
Isn’t it somewhat implied that the authorities are good? It says if you do good shouldn’t you recieve praises? Telling the truth is good, so if they beat you and lock you in jail for telling the truth, exposing their lies and corruption, that is a different kind of government, not fitting into the example people are asked to subject themselves to.
Dear Ed Jones.
Shalom, and love in Jesus.
You asked:
Isn’t it somewhat implied that the authorities are good? It says if you do good shouldn’t you recieve praises?
My reply:
Absolutely not. Jesus did not tell his followers to lead a revolt. Neither against the Roman occupation, nor any rule by pagans.
Christians must be able to serve Jesus under whatever government. And not be involved in the affairs of the World.
We are called to preach the gospel. If required, to the point of death and martyrdom. That is why the apsotles died as martyres, and never became rulers of wordly kingdoms. They could have become. Since they performed miracles and wonders, and was able to collect a lot of money and peroperties for them selves. They did not.
Not all of us are called to preach the gospel. James 3:1 “Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”
and
1 cor 9:14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
Only if your a good preacher and can fill a tip jar.
Dear Ed Jones
Shalom, and love in Jesus.
Every Christian can utter these words: “Jesus loves you”. And we can all take this self-test:
1. When did I say these words last time to another person?
2. When did you tell these words to a non-Christian?
We are called to be a witness. There is no A team above the others. What Paul explains in 1.Corintians is that we all are called to give gifts to all who preach the gospel. Paul preached the gospel free of charge. But he had the right to share in the harvest. Paul talks about food.
Whatever seems right to you. More of a guide than hardfast rules.
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
104From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way.
So it seems people can preach a little, and or expose some false ways of the government, in moderation.
The Bible teaches that God appoints those in authority, this should not be confused with the idea that just because God has allowed their appointment, that they are good.
Some examples.
The Pharoah that Moses had to deal with.
King Saul before King David.
The people asked to be like the other nations around them, they rejected God and wanted a king that could be seen just like all the other nations of the known world.
Remember what Jesus said to Judas ‘whatever is in your heart to do, do it quickly’. Judas was appointed to carry out a specific task.
Jesus prayed ‘thy will done’.
If Judas had not done what He did, Jesus’ blood would not have been shed.
Salvation comes by the blood of the Lamb of God.
Was not Paul beaten and put into jail? And was he not able to preach to the prisoners and show his respect to the guards despite the seemingly unjust way he had been treated.
Respect for the authorities that God has allowed to be appointed should be something believers should learn to do, they have a role to play in much bigger plan.

My comment:
Yes, this is true. I guess you do not claim this to be easy? If you see a man trying to rape your daughter, I hope you will try to stop him?
Matthew 5:39
But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.
(end of scripture).
I do not mind being beheaded for my faith. But, this is very, very diffcult to obey. In particular when your children face bastard’s perverts and outright barbarian evils. As a man, you are called to protect your family.
I, ME, PERSONALLY AM GIVING UP MY PATRIOTISM, AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST; HE DID SAY HIS KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD, I CONSIDER MYSELF A CITIZEN OF THE HEAVENS, WHO WOULD WANT TO TAKE PART IN THIS EVIL. PHYSICALLY I AM AN AMERICAN, BUT REALLY IN HEART, SOUL, AND MIND REALLY NOT AMERICAN, YES I WILL BE PRODUCTIVE, BUT MY ULTIMATE GOALS ARE FOR THE KINGDOM OF YAHVEH(GOD), AND NOT FOR THE LIARS AND LIES CRAP OF THIS WORLD. FOR ONE THING, THE MILITARY IN THE USA, HAS NOT LIFTED A FINGER TO REMOVE THE SATANIC COMMUNISTS OBAMA FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, AND CONTINUES TO OBEY HIS ORDERS, WHY IN THE HELL FOR, JUST TO SEE MORE OF US MURDERED AND KILLED??? YES, SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO VOTES, THEY ARE LIES AND LIARS TOO:
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/09/13/fact-check-does-soros-own-an-overseas-company-that-will-count-u-s-votes/
I hear ya. My patriotism dwindled when I found out 9/11 was an inside job, and nobody in government or media can talk about it. Then it just keeps heading down the highway to hell.
WE ALL MUST DISTINCTION BETWEEN WHAT IS FINITE AND WHAT IS ETERNAL. 9/11 WAS DEFINITELY AN INSIDE JOB. THE ENTIRE PLANET IS A LIE, UNTIL WE HAVE A NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH.
