The Pope believe the second coming of Jesus is His presence in the Eucharist.
This is part of the address of the Pope Sunday 17th November before and after praying the midday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square.
This is how the Pope explains two central Bible verses of the second coming of Jesus:
“Then the Son of Man will come upon the clouds in the sky with great power and glory” (13:26). The “Son of Man” is Jesus himself, who links the present with the future; the ancient words of the prophets have finally found a center in the person of the Messiah of Nazareth: he is the central event that, in the midst of the troubles of the world, remains the firm and stable point.
For this reason Jesus does not describe the end of the world and when he uses apocalyptic images he does not conduct himself like a “visionary.” On the contrary, he wants to take away the curiosity of his disciples in every age about dates and predictions and wishes instead to give them a key to a deep, essential reading, and above all to indicate the right path to take, today and tomorrow, to enter into eternal life. Everything passes – the Lord tells us – but God’s Word does not change, and before this Word each of us is responsible for his conduct. It is on this basis that we will be judged.

I know what my “Christening” in the Protestant church was; very equivalent to the “baptism”, my children received later when we began to practice our Christian faith in the Catholic Church. 1) Tell me again that we don’t believe Jesus is coming back? Read the WHOLE article on whatever they misquoted the Pope on. 3) Learn your history: Until the 1500’s, ALL scripture that you have today had been carefully recorded, preserved and maintained, like the Hebrew Sopher’s did with the Torrah. So accurate was the bible, preserved for the first 1500 years by the Catholic church, that when they found the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1900’s, they were like 95% accurate to the original; more accurate than most other historical documents today.
4) God preserved His church with Martgin Luther. Corruption in the Papacy was trickling down into the church, so God split it. It has been fairly reunited now with Catholics and Protestants who have quit fearing each other and started talking it out and truly trying to understand where the differences are and the similarities. We are on Christian Church of Christ, the Catholics, the Protestant, AND the LDS, the central church who also live by the word of God not in contradiction to their prophet Joseph Smith.
5) If you don’t want to be that servant at the end of todays reading, pray the prayer I prayed, to be that faithful servant, not the one who beats down his fellow servants with a special place for hypocrites where Jesus will send them on the last day of judgement. When you write such a comment, you have not based in on a study of the records of this blog. But rather on a presumption that the Pope is not an anticrhrist. Peace and love to all. I am a Catholic and am shaking my head as to where does it say that the final second coming of Jesus is in the Eucharist. We do receive Jesus in the Eucharist though.
About the second coming of Jesus, just last Sunday we read about it in scripture.
I wish you would care to know the truth about what we are doing in the Catholic church. Be careful that you are not joining satan in condemning the brethren day and night (Rev. 12:10).
You can copy and quote any verse in the Bible to prophecy and condemn us Catholics. If you are wrong, you would have to be answerable to Jesus when you meet Him face to face. I do find it ironic that a non-Catholic dare to pass judgement and think that they know the truth about our faith.

It is true that it is written about the second coming of Jesus, also in Roman Catholic versions of the Bible. The problem is that the Pope says that we can not take what is literally written, and apply it to the present World.
The message needs to be put into the right “context”, and the Papacy claims to be infallible in matters of really understanding what God is trying to tell us.
The Bible clearly say that Jesus the Messiah had siblings, and that His mother was a Jewess who offered a sin offering in the Temple. This kind of scripture-message is rejected by the Pope. He goes on explaining to us, that “Jesus” was a lone child, that his mother never had sex with her husband, because she was like the pagan queens of the Babylonians: Ever virgin.
The Bible also says that you have to obey the Word of God. Even Satan knows what is written, but he has tried to twist the message from the day he appeared in the garden of Eden.
If you believe in the return of Jesus, physically, and first to appear in the clouds of Heaven, you are right. Please also obey the other messages, and reject the falsehood of the Papacy.

Dose it not read that God is not the author of confusion. I’m confused as I read the text above. Born and raised catholic. An alter boy for many years, clear vision was not ever an option. Catholics are mistaken twice when they put Jesus in a wafer and the Holy Spirit in their church. On the other hand I’m not siding with the harlots either. Just because you throw stones at your mother dose not make you not her children. No matter the side, that’s not the race. The race to us is the eternal relationship, to be taught by the gift of his presence. How dose either faction get us closer to that.

The light of the sun prefigures the Light of the Son.
You really misunderstand the Catholic view regarding the sun (giving life and light) and the Son who is True Live and Light.

The City of the Sun in Egypt was Heliopolis. Helios is the Greek word for sun.

From Bible study you will know that in Alexandria, Christianity rose to great heights by Saint Mark spreading the Gospel.
The Church in Alexandria had several Catholic Bishops, such as Athanasius and Cyril, both of whom are Doctors of the Church.
It is CLEAR the Son, Jesus Christ of Christianity had displaced the pagan sun god, Ra.

As an ex-catholic I have family that still are. We have spoke the truth to them that the God of the bible is the only true God. Also in the other Gospels, everywhere. The Lord called them blind guides many times.
I went through all the catechism up to 8th grade. Now the priest’s tell us that the bible is true from chapter 3 on starting with Abraham. The rest is all a story tale, we are just not sure and then there might be some evolution in there. Ask your priest yourself. Then you need to forget everything you were taught, creation, in the beginning, Adam and Eve because we are not sure what their names are, Noah, the Ark, and the Flood. My mom asked her priest and he confirmed this. My brother was taught it by his priest. Still they follow blindly. I wonder what they will do when all religions are in the same church worshiping who they believe to be same God. Buddha, Islam, etc. It is already accepted by the pope. We are not your enemies. We love you that’s why we want you to truly see. By the Lord’s will only will we see the truth or not. He loves us and does not want any to perish. God Bless you! You are a blesisng on this site. No issues. We need to dicern people. Many Roman Catholcis will never repent. Because the Holy Spirit seems not willing at all, to lead them into repentance. Others are willing to repent, when they are conctronted by truth.

Thanks for blessing me. The Church has not replaced Israel. The true Church has enlarged Israel. We are the new Israel of God, all who believe in Yeshua. New, grafted and standing together with the natrual branches. The apostle Paul explains in Romans 10 and 11 that those natural branched who have been cut of, can be impoded again. It will happen during the second coming of the Messiah.

Lets not forget that there is different between humans and God, jesus was a human being who was incarneted by the Spirit of God to do his work on earth. And he saved his Master well up to the day his human life perished in the hands of evil doers. After three days he rose again in a form of a Holy Ghost and discended to Heaven forever. Humans die but God did not die because he is a Spirit. Remember the time of Moses, what did he encounter oneday when he was shepard of the sheeps. He saw a fire burning the tree but the leaves of the tree was still green. And the voice of God spoke through that fire ana told him to remove his sandals because the ground he is standing on is holy. It was before Jesus was born so that give me guts to say there is deferent between God and Jesus. And for sure God can still showup on earth as he promised through Jesus who was his mouth. But the time of Jesus on earth is over he is now enjoying his destiny with God and his Angels in Heaven . l think God is going to come on earth in another form or in defferent identity. In revelation there is a part whicg says l see God himself making his home on earth with his humans, he is going to be their God and they are going to be his childrens. That possible means we must expect him to come one day. To buld his Home with his humans so that he is going to be their God and we are going to be his Children. And we must expect him in a human form like what he did in Jesus’s time so that we will understand his. And follow his ways not human ways.

I was confused by the picture–I didn’t realize that it was the current pope who said that Jesus returns in the Eucharist (which is pure and utter idolatry). In any case, all popes commit blasphemy all the time–this is nothing new–just more outrageous than usual.

You might live in ignorance of the meaning “The vicar of Christ”. It is the replacement of ‘Christ” on Earth. The Pope is an upsurper of Biblical athority. His claim is false. Because the Holy Spirit is the only “Vicar of Christ” on the face of the Earth.
The Pope has set aside Biblical authority. By his claim the Pope elevates him self above the Holy Spirit. In this way, the Pope blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. That is a mortal sin that will never be forgiven.
The Pope also equalize him self with God. Jesus the Messiah only called His Father God in Heaven for “Holy Father”. The Pope demands to be adressed in the same way. This amounts to wickedness, blasphemy and lawlessness, that leads to judgment and eternal condemnation.
Anyone who submit to the authority of the Pope, will share in his condemnation. The Bible explains that their souls will burn in the everlasting fire of Hell.

Rome was denounced by all the Puritans such as John Flavel, John Owen, Richard Sibbes, Richard Baxter. Read them, they are all published by the Banner of Truth.
Rome was denounced by John Wesley one of the greatest street preachers of the 18th Century. Rome was denounced by Charles Spurgeon the 19th Century London preacher. And by Bishop J.C. Ryle of the Church of England.
American Presbyterians visited Rome a few years ago and were received by Benedict. (Watch it on YouTube.) They all bowed to Benedict but Benedict bowed to nobody. If you are friends with Rome you have to be friends on Rome’s terms. You have to pay tribute to the Pope as though he were Caesar.

When I attend Mass as I occasionally do with a Catholic friend, I am moved by the sense of reverence the faithful have towards the Eucharist. My friend regards the Eucharist as the centre of her worship, though her husband belongs to the Church of Scotland.
As a former Roman Catholic and an admirer in my day of John Henry Newman, I can well understand how Catholics in their last hours receive the Host along with Last Rites. It means everything to you.
But I have over the course of years become persuaded by the theology of the Reformation.
Transubstantiation was condemned in the strongest terms by John Calvin and John Knox. Their line of thought is Scriptural and lucid. They called the Mass blasphemous. Calvin in his writings also destroyed the legitimacy of the Papacy although the Vatican hasn’t yet woken up to the fact.
The Puritans such as John Owen, John Flavel and Richard Sibbes also condemned the Mass as blasphemy against Jesus Christ and therefore wholly unscriptural.
Jesus cannot be literally present in the Eucharist because his glorified body is in heaven.
Go online and read the blogs of the Protestant Truth Society.
Read a wonderfully balanced booklet called Why Protestant Truth Still Matters by Garry Williams, a young Puritan scholar who is currently director of the John Owen Centre in London. It is published by the Protestant Truth Society.
Mr Williams quotes the Italian theologian De Chirico whose roots are very Reformed.
De Chirico says the Catholic Church today is ‘programmatically searching outside its circle for whatever can enrich and expand it’.

As someone who grew up as a Catholic, I can verify that the Catholic Church has always taught that Christ will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Yes, people should stop “waiting” on a future return of Christ. His presence arrived almost two thousand years ago when he came in judgment upon the city of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. These were the days of vengeance upon Jerusalem for persecuting and murdering the Son of God, the apostles and saints. Matt. 23:34-37; Luke 21:20-22, 32.

Read Richard Bennett’s book ‘Catholicism – East of Eden’ published by the Banner of Truth. A former Catholic priest of many years and now an evangelical Christian, he describes the modernist teaching within Catholic seminaries. Catholic priests don’t know what they believe regarding the Second Coming of Christ. Nor does Benedict. Seminarians are given a diet of Rudolf Butmann and other modernist anti-Christian writings. They ought to be reading John Murray’s great work, ‘Redemption Achieved and Applied’. Years ago a liberal leaning Jesuit priest, given to quoting the dire ideas of Carl Jung, told me Karl Barth leaned too heavily on Scripture. I gave this priest a book by Francis Schaeffer and all he said was that ‘these people have a frightening view of the fate of no Christians’. Martin Lloyd-Jones in his book ‘God the Father, God the Son’ reminds us that the Second Coming will be a real and physical coming and not merely spiritual. It will be a coming down of heaven to earth, indeed the whole universe will be altered. The Book of Revelation tells us that there will be men and women who will beg to be covered by the hills and mountains, rather than face the judgment of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Erratum. I should have written Rudolf Bultmann. He gave an interview to a New Yorker writer and said he could not conceive or imagine the possibility of the Lord’s return at the end of history. He added that most of his postgraduate students in theology felt the same way. On this basis he dismissed the return of Christ as belonging to another age, another thought-world, pure mythology. John Dominic Crossan, another sceptical New Testament opinion-former, said the miracle of our Lord’s appearance on the road to Emmaus never happened ‘and yet it happens all the time’. I have heard this kind of whimsical nonsense preached in more than one liberal Protestant church. Oh for the preaching of Arthur W Pink who ploughed a lonely furrow in his lifetime as did Alan Stibbs and Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones. These men preached good solid reformed theology in a sea of liberalism. One of the great things they did was to revive interest in the Puritans, men like John Owen, Richard Baxter, Richard Sibbes, John Flavel etc. Thank God that reformed theology is now on the ascendancy again in the United States and even here in the United Kingdom. The Roman Catholic Church will claim that they do not reject the second comming of Jesus. The RCC do teach that Jesus has returned, and is perfected in the Eucharist. The problem with such a docrinal view on the second comming of Jesus, is that the wafer used in the mass, did not return and land on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.
Zechariah 14:4
On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south.
When a Catholic eat the Eucharist, he is supposed to have accepted Jesus. And become like a god, walking in the likeness of the Messiah. All who can see, will discover that nothing has happened to the person who eat the wafer. He will walk out of the religious shrine, as unsaved an worldly as ever before. Next sunday, he will return and “eat Jesus” all over again.
Thank you for your helpful words. As a child and adult I faithfully attended Mass. This was at the very heart of Catholic worship. We were told (indeed indoctrinated) that the early church believed in the ‘real presence’ of Christ in the eucharist, and that all the pre-Reformation saints such as Thomas Aquinus and Bernard of Clairvaux believed in it too. The doctrine of transubstantiation was only formulated after the Council of Trent, we were taught, in response to the ‘errors’ of Calvin and Zwingli. (Alas, at this stage in my life I never read Calvin’s Institutes or his great Commentaries on the Old and New Testament, which I now read daily, nor did I know about the many truthful things he had to say about the monstrous claims of the Papacy.) When I asked priests about the Second Coming I received only vague answers; this must have been on my mind as a child because we were always hearing about the very real possibility of a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. The scales fell slowly from my eyes years later, after I discovered the books of Francis Schaeffer. Karl Barth was an important discovery for me, though I now reject his neo-orthodoxy. A book by Os Guinness. ‘The Dust of Death’, also made a huge impression on me, and I have a copy still from 1973. It began to dawn on me that the reformers did not think of themselves as innovators; they were trying to save the church from its many sins. Luther’s image of the church in Babylonian captivity impressed me deeply. Reading the histories of the Popes made me see that these proud and sinful men were exalting themselves over Christ; they could not possibly be following in the footsteps of Saint Peter; indeed the first bishops of Rome had no supremacy over the other bishops of the early church. Now I come to a tragic fact. I only heard truly Biblical preaching when I attended worship at the Free Church of Scotland, the Free Presbyterian Church and various evangelical churches. To readers of this blog I can recommend a book by Robert M Zins, ‘On the Edge of Apostasy – the Evangelical Romance with Rome’ as well as a brilliant booklet, ‘Why Protestant Truth Still Matters’ by Gary Williams, a Puritan scholar, published by the Protestant Truth Society, http://www.protestanttruth.com. The sermon on the Second Coming of Christ by Doctor Martyn Lloyd Jones can be found in ‘The Church and the Last Things’. Alan Stibbs is the author of very reformed essays titled ‘Such a Great Salvation’. Iain H Murray is the author of ‘Evangelical Holiness’ which I can warmly recommend and biographies of Arthur Pink, Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley and Lloyd-Jones. Mr Murray writes for the Banner of Truth monthly magazine, which is also available online. Readers will also enjoy ‘A Faith To Live By’ from the pen of Donald MacLeod, a systematic theologian of high repute. My little country of Scotland produced a galaxy of reformed preachers and theologians, men like Robert Murray McCheyne, but today Scotland has fallen into s state of apostasy and sinfulness. New Age, spiritualism, channelling and the occult are spreading like cancer. We need another Reformation.

I am honored that I could be of some help.
I have been to Scotland twice. Once, I drove with a friend to the island of Iona. There I discovered that the legacy of Columkille had been falsified by the Roman Catholic Church.
This Irish apostle (521-597 A.D) had been turned into “Saint Columba”. Columnkille was not Roman Catholic. He celebrathed the Sabbath, followed the Jewish callender, and observed the original timing of Passover/Easter. The Irishman also baptised adults who had come to faith. He was a true follower of the Messiah.
You know more about Columkille and the Celtic church than I do, Ivarfjeld. Would you believe that I have never been to Iona? Or Jerusalem? I am aware every day of the guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life. I hear him speaking through street preachers, humble Christians, ministers, books by reformed theologians and such a witness as yours. Three years ago I spoke to a young woman who had been on drugs and had a history of suicide attempts. After her conversion she told me she gave her television set away. This surprised all her friends because she had been addicted to TV soaps before being born again in Jesus Christ. Like the Apostle Paul she counted all the things of her old life as so much rubbish. For me the great truth of the Reformation, the doctrine of Justification, can be seen in a statue of the reformer William Farel. See it on the internet. It stands outside the church of Neuchatel in France. Farel stands with the Holy Bible raised above his head – the pages are turned towards the people. Only the reformed Biblical faith, sola Scriptura, can bring Europe out of paganism. Robert M Zims says that erosion of sound doctrine comes quickly, almost suddenly. ‘This is perhaps due to the reality of opposing forces that wage war in the trenches of theology and power,’ he writes. Liberalism, humanism, anti-supernaturalism, Gnosticism, Roman sacramentalism, easy believism, Pelagianism, the new atheism, are all attacking the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are engaged in the fight of faith as Lloyd-Jones used to say. At a conference in Melbourne on world religions, just before 2000, evangelical Christians were strongly rebuked as ‘fundamentalists’ while Madame Blavatsky, the pioneer of occult theosophy, was applauded as the mother of ecumenicism. Religious pluralism is in. The ‘true truth’ of Francis Schaeffer and Farel is out. The Bible is no longer welcome in the public forum. A new book I can recommend is ‘Christ Among Other Gods – A Defence of Christ in an Age of Tolerance’ (Moody Publishers) by Erwin W Lutzer,a senior pastor in Chicago for over 30 years.
May I just add that Rudolf Bultmann was interviewed by New Yorker writer Ved Mehta. The interview appeared in Mr Mehta’s 1968 book, The New Theologians published by Penguin. Donald Macleod deals with Bultmann’s heresy in his concise work, The Trinity published by Christian Focus. John Murray’s classic book Redemption Accomplished and Applied has been republished by Eerdmans with a new introduction by Carl Trueman. Professor Murray stressed the biblical view that Christ’s physical return, contrary to Pope Benedict’s remarks, will mean a new heaven and earth. The Life of John Murray by Iain H Murray (no relation) was republished by the Banner of Truth in 2007. John Murray lost the sight of his right eye on the Western Front during the Great War of 1914-18. It did not prevent him from excelling as a theologian and teacher. His friend and colleague at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia, Gresham Machen, sent John a telegram as he was dying. Gresham’s telegram said… I AM SO THANKFUL FOR ACTIVE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST. NO HOPE WITHOUT IT. Gresham Machen’s book The Virgin Birth of Christ is well worth reading.
Oh Boy, What is the Eucharist? It is a witness to Christ? Correct? How was it originally created? Christ laid hands on the bread and the wine? Right? What did he leave? A magnetic imprint of his DNA? Right? The pope is using a gnostic term, the cat is both alive and dead. What is the Pope actually saying that you are missing, because
you are blind as a bat and don’t have the mind of Christ. The inner senses, of sight, hearing and smell. He is saying that he noticed that the Eucharist is much more powerful. He is saying that he is back in the Eucharist. How did that happen? Do you think he is saying that he is already back? In he were to announce to you would be screaming at him looking for the proof? Why did he go to the UN in his own name? Perhaps because the big guy is back? Did you ever consider that? Did you ever consider the reason that Benedict resigned was for the same reason? Is pope Francis living in the Vatican? No? Do you think that Pope Francis is Rein-forcing the belief that Christ has returned for those that can see? Have you even bothered to look up and see that the Sun is now white, not yellow? Do you know anything about color theory? Do you miss the blood moon that arrived like a thief in the night in NYC,on August 24th, 2016, over where the World trade center which is owned by who? And the Federal Reserve that is the what? The Money changers temple?
I have just read your blog, Kevin. I pray you will find a Bible believing church where you can pray in the Holy Spirit and hear the Word of God.
There was an American preacher called Francis Schaeffer. He was no admirer of the Roman Catholic Church, but he always welcomed Catholics in his Christian community of L’Abri in France.
Schaeffer said there were four great questions for the Christian. 1) Why is there sin? 2) Why is there death? 3) Who is Jesus Christ? 4) Why did Jesus Christ come into the world?
Schaeffer saw that only the true Biblical faith can answer those questions. The Reformers were not innovators; they had no intention of starting a new church; they wanted to save Rome from its apostasy and its sins.
Go into Google and type in PHOTOGRAPH OF WILLIAM FAREL, NEUCHATEL.
You will see a statue of the French reformer and he is holding the holy Bible above his head with the pages facing the people to whom he is preaching.
For me that statue sums up the Reformation. Farel was calling the people back to Christ and away from the antichrist in Rome.
Rome today appears to have changed. After the Second Vatican Council Rome changed its tune and started to refer to we Protestants as ‘separated brethren’. But Rome still maintains that one has to be in communion with the See of Rome (i.e. the Pope and his bishops) in order to be saved. Rome says that if a Protestant or a Hindu is saved then it is because of the existence of the Church of Rome.
Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones said that Rome wears a thousand different faces for the world. Listen to Lloyd-Jones preaching online; he was instrumental in the recovery of Christian doctrine in the 20th Century along with the likes of Arthur W Pink. At my Catholic school I was taught that there were wicked Popes but that in spite of everything the RC Church still taught the truth.
Yet the Pius V who was the Pope of the Catholic Counter Reformation regularly visited the torture chamber in Rome where Bible believing Christians were put to death.
William Tyndale who translated the Bible into English was burned alive.
A Catholic bishop who read Tyndale’s New Testament said, ‘Either this is not the New Testament or we are teaching something very different.’
He was right. Rome teaches a different gospel/

The Bible says: Just as you and I will be judged, so will the pope.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
The pope is false in his teaching, and in taking the Word of God to twist it into what he wants it to be. This is why prayer to JESUS CHRIST ONLY, Our King who returns, need to be done very frequently as well as reading his Word, so we know who walks in Jesus, and we know who doesn’t.
The is the false prophet and have cheated many souls.

The Pope claim that the second comming of Jesus, is his physical presence in the Eucharist. There will be no other return of the Lord. These kind of doctrines, contradict the Bible. The Pope is a liar and a deciever of the flock.
Well after 2000 years its obvious that the second coming either is not going to happen or already did happen, and since some passages in the gospels clearly say “there are some standing here who will not see death until they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds” that would mean looking for it as yet future is absurd since Jesus promised it would happen in the lifetime of some who were standing there; but its obviously not the Catholic eucharist; rather it is the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD which Josephus describes as having been attended by a visible sign of armies of angels running along the clouds; and this corresponds to the “end of the world” of that time, i.e. the end of the Jewish world; and it fits with Matt 24’s dilemma “how much of this is about the destruction of Jerusalem, and how much is about the end of the world?”; the answer is both events are the same thing, i.e. the destruction of Jerusalem is the end of THEIR world. It already happened; instead of looking for Jesus to return and some stupid rapture or a millennial reign and other such nonsense like prophecies about Israel that were already fulfilled by the return from the Babylonian captivity to happen AGAIN in modern times, accept that all biblical prophecy has already taken place; Jesus saves souls forever more, with the world ending in the literal physical sense, because Ecclesiastes 1:4 says “Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.” The earth remains forever, and there is never a physical reign of Christ on it; never a Jew World Order; Zechariah 14’s false prophecy never happens.
