Repent from “Cheep mercy”

Some teachers say the cross has replaced the law. Not true. But at the cross we find mercy if we regret sinning against the law.

Jesus did not die on the cross so you became free to love the World.
Jesus the Messiah did not die on the cross so you could became free to love the World.

Preachers of “cheep mercy” preach that loving Jesus is all that is needed to achieve salvation. We are told that by worshiping Him we keep all the commandments.

Daniel 3:4-5:

I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed:
Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.

This is the key to lawlessness. You cant be a “Sunday Christian”, and work for the devil from Monday morning onwards.

John 14:15-16.

If you love me, keep my commands.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you for ever.

The cross has not replaced the law. The law is still valid. It convince us about sin, and make us confess that we are all sinners. We are simply not able to keep the law, never able of gaining righteousness by keeping all the Biblical laws.

Romans 3:31
Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law

Under the law, you could only achieve forgiveness by offering blood of your best animals on the alters. When Jesus the Messiah came in flesh, He sacrificed Him self, as the perfect Lamb of God. So that we do not need to cut chicken and rams, and bring them into the temple. Now we have an advocate that interced’s for us, if we commit a mistake and sin.

Those who love Jesus the Messiah, do keep His commandments. To say ” I love Jesus”, and mot keeping the commandments is falsehood.  You will have to twist the Biblical message to convince your self you are right.

What are the commandments?

First, love you God. If you do not love God enough to obey Him, you can simply not love your neighbor. To intermingle with the sins of your neighbor is not loving. Neither God, nor anyone else.

John 15:19
If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Do not love the World. All who keep the commandments, and live a godly life rejecting what the World has to offer, will be persecuted.  There is a price to pay for saying “absolutely not”. And that is to be made a laughingstock among the lukewarm’s, who do not want to repent from their life in sin. They have fallen prey to the peaches of “cheep mercy”. They have walked into deception.

 1. John 2: 15-17

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – comes not from the Father but from the world.

To be able to overcome persecution, you need to keep enough oil on your lamp. You need to pray for power for walk on Earth as Jesus did.

 James 4:4
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

The ultimate goal for our short walk in the flesh on Earth, is to spiritually grow into a Christlike nature.  To walk the talk, and be a light to the World that live in utter darkness.

  1. So, what have you done to earn mercy from God?
    What may you brag about?
    ———
The persons born again naturally live the new life and do the doings of the new life. Because it is in their new nature.

If Abraham had God’s approval because of something he did, he would have had a reason to brag. But he could not brag to God about it. Rom 4:2.

    1. Dear shek1na

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

      You ask:

So, what have you done to earn mercy from God?
      What may you brag about?

      My reply:

We can only lift up what Jesus the Messiah has done for us. And what we are doing together every day. The life of a Christian is truly exiting. Let Jesus the Messiah get all the honor.

      1. What’s idols got to do with the grace of God?
        Grace alone equals salvation.
        Grace plus law equals zero.
You sound like a good Catholic every time you tell us we must work for our salvation!

        My reply:

Neither Paul, nor myself are a “Catholic”. But we both fear God, and do not take His mercy for granted.

        Philippians 2:12
[ Do everything without grumbling ] Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

  2. Israelites were under the law under the old covenant.
When the new covenant was put into affect who’s mediator is Yeshua the law that became the law of all believers was the law of Christ. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. The law of Yeshua is a law of love. The law of Yeshua has been written on the hearts of his people. The law that is written on our hearts by him gives us a place to start
In terms of living by it. Gentiles were never bound to keep the law, Israelites were. It was given to them.
When Gentiles were brought near as Paul says in his letter to the Ephesians they were not bound by the law of Moses and also Jewish believers were not either.
Jewish believers tried to make gentile believers follow the law of Moses. Ceremonial law, dietary laws, Sabbath laws, etc
This caused problems. Chaos or hostility among them, Jews and Gentiles. Paul said that But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. Jesus is our (Jew and Gentile) peace who has made us both (Jew and Gentile) one. And has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility (the mosaic law) plain and simple. Jew and gentile believers are under the law of Yeshua/Christ. To many people are trying to keep the dividing wall of hostility that causes chaos between Jew and Gentile. How sad.

  3. Yeshua said in Matthew 5:17-18: “17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished…”

Yeshua came to fulfill the Law for those who rely on His Blood to cleanse them from “all unrighteousness”. HOWEVER, the Law is still in place for those who do not trust in Him. It will be the basis for the Great White Throne Judgment–the final judgment that occurs just prior to the perfection of the Eternal State–when “everything is accomplished”. Perfected, resurrected mankind will not need the Law anymore. Nor will they need a sacrificial Temple anymore because the Father and the Lamb will be the center for worship in the Eternal State. Note that there WILL be a Temple in the Millennial Kingdom just prior to the final battle with Satan and the Great White Throne Judgment. Mortal man requires a means to bind sin and make atonement for it (under the Law). Immortal, resurrected, perfected mankind does not. The Blood of Messiah is the ONLY way for mankind to escape the penalty of their transgressions of the Law.

      My comment:

That you can only be saved by the blood of Jesus is also a law. We who believe in the Messiah, is very much under the law of Christ.

      Galatians 6:2
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.

      (end of scripture).

Jesus the Messiah did not appear in flesh in a vacuum. He came according to the Law, upheld the law, fulfilled the Law, and told his supporters to obey the commandments.

      1. Yes under the law that would be what Jesus would teach to those who were Jewish and in it’s bondage….. But under Grace he laid out the rest of the story to the New Testament believer through Paul mostly but Luke, James, John and Peter also. Our focus should not be mainly and strongly in the old testament but mainly and strongly in the truths of grace through those wonderful scriptures in the new testament.. Learn the truths in the new and you will be set free from the bondage of law.

  4. Indeed. James 2:12-13 says: ” 12 So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free. 13 There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you.”

This is the “Law if Love” that is binding on all followers of Messiah. If we follow that Law, we will keep all of His Commandments.

  5. To address the original point–we must ALWAYS remember just how much it cost the Godhead to achieve our redemption. It was not “cheap”–it was infinitely costly–the Blood of Messiah, the Lamb of God, is capable of taking away the sins of the whole world.

    1. Dear job3627

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

It cost the Messiah everything to redeem us. He makes us aware of sin, and that we can not be saved without being cleansed in his blood.

If there was no law, not need for a lawbreaker like me, for someone to redeem me.
If there was no law, no one would be aware of sin.
If there was no law, I would be free to lie, steal, worship idols and be a part taker in sexual immorality.

Abraham had the law in his heart. He was told be God to leave his life among the idol worshipers, and God would show Him a new land, a new beginning. Jesus the Messiah told us that He revealed the cross to Him, the days of the Messiah, and Abraham rejoiced. The Patriarch meet Jesus in dreams and visions. God spoke to Him in live audio, and reveled to Abraham what was expected from him.

  6. Ivar: So if Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross for whosoever believes, why did he do it if I’m going to be punished too if I were to be lured away to commit a sin by the tempter. So that one sin will be punished twice? What? First Jesus was slain for it and I must be punished too? Once at the cross and once more when I get my punishment for my miss step? Why can’t you leave the law behind? Grace is a gift to those that believe plus the Comforter give us the knowing in our heart. Sin is not being imputed to believers just like Abrahams sins were not imputed. This working to be good enough is just bogus because no one is perfect enough to be worthy of the perfection of heaven. According to your law belief system nobody is in heaven because honestly nobody has the ability to live a sinless life. Put guilt upon the believers is the work of a deceptive spirit for sure Why not believe properly. Your theology just doesn’t add up. Who was your professor that taught you such silliness? God cannot lie but man sure can.

  7. We are not under law but under grace in this “age of grace”. (Isn’t it obvious that we are not under the full effect of the Law–there is no Temple and how can anyone meet the obligations of the Law without a Temple?) But that does NOT mean that the Law is of NO effect. The moral Law is still the inflexible standard that restrains sin among unbelievers and reproves sin among believers (which Ivar has mentioned). But when the “full number of the Gentiles” has come in, the Book of Revelation tells us that God Almighty will switch His attention back to the Jewish people. He will breathe the breath of life into them and they will see their Messiah. He will remove their hearts of stone and give them hearts of flesh. The birth pangs are coming closer and closer together–they began in 1948 when He brought them back into the Beautiful Land (even though many were and still are in unbelief).

Messiah judges His enemies by the Law. And in the Millennial Age, Messiah will rule with a “rod of iron” (the full Law will be what the Millennial saints will celebrate and live by, because they are reconciled to Him).

And here we are caught between the “already and the not yet”. We are called to exceed the moral Law by obeying the Law of Love. We are supposed to go beyond the “thou shall nots” and move on to the “thou shalls”–“Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all the heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.” and “…thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.” Our Lord Yeshua said that this was the basis for all the Law and the teachings of the Prophets. It is only by the grace of God that we can begin to appropriate His righteousness and keep the requirements of the Law of Love. Amen?
