Pope John Paul II kissed the Koran. But it was not inside the Vatican. My best guess is that the picture of the Pontiff kissing the Koran in front of an Arab prince, was published by mistake.
But now, the unholy book of the violent Islamic ideology, will be lifted up as a ‘Holy book” inside the Vatican in bright daylight. This is truly prophetic, and soon the Great Tribulation will bring God’s wrath on all those who support this evil.
I’m inclined to believe that the Tribulation has already begun. I know that the Antichrist has yet to be revealed and Daniel’s “covenant with the many hasn’t been conclusively identified yet either. But somehow when I see of the rise in anti-semitism, the corruption in the world, Israel being surrounded by enemies on all sides, and all of the Christians being crucified, raped, burned alive, beaten, beheaded, and imprisoned, it sure feels like tribulation. I keep feeling as though we may have missed something, prophetically speaking. It’s just a feeling.

I also have this minority view about the Great Tribulation. Since i do not teach about the pre-trib rapture, the claimed sudden invisibility of the Church on the face of the Earth.
I feel its not possible to say the exact day and the hour when the age of judgement has begun. But it can be identify by the power of the Holy people being completely broken. Read: When we face apostasy and gross falling away everywhere.
The badly hammered and persecuted Church will be raptured in the midst of the Great Tribulation.
These are indeed interesting times, that said, I can’t wait for everything to be over with and for the thousand year reign to begin. Then we will be able to sit at Yeshua’s feet and He will teach us. I worry about the warning Yeshua gave about Satan wearing out the saints. I can see that happening. I find myself growing tired at times. I hate this world!

Ivarfjeld. Your opinion on hell tells me that you believe that all the unsaved have eternal life, otherwise they can not live for ever in a burning hell. That belief is not biblical. It is spiritism which for example the RCC teaches. According to the bible only God has eternal life and those who will be given eternal life at the second coming of Christ. The picture of God you present is that he is cruel beyond comprehension. Hitler, Mao and Stalin were among the worst but they at least killed their victims. The God you believe in apparently is going to torture people for ever and ever and ever …. Please leave the unbiblical teaching about hell, otherwise your biblical teaching on other subjects will loose credibility.
Personally, I don’t really know with a certainty what will happen in the lake of fire. I believe that Satan and his demons will suffer eternal hell because it was originally created for them.
The scriptures say that there will be a new heaven and a new earth. Who knows perhaps the lake of fire is in the bowels of this earth, and it could burn forever. We will find all of these things out with certainty when Yeshua returns.

To work we need daylight and space. When darkness set, we will be forced to become an underground movement. Just like it is over large part of the World already. I agree with you deniseandros! may I add that whatever truth it is (whether all the unfaithful together with the devil and demons will burn “eternally” in hellfire or not), what’s important is all the faithful to Jesus will remain as such, stay strong, and continue to follow God’s commandments so they (we), on that fateful day of Jesus’ 2nd coming, will be assured of a mansion in Heaven and not worry about hell!

The bible use the word eternal with different meanings. For example, Sodom and Gomorrah were burnt with an eternal fire. That eternal fire is not burning today which means that only the result was eternal or permanent. As I see it the same is applicable for the lake of fire.

You stated “Sodom and Gomorrah were burnt with an eternal fire”, yet the verse you bring states “suffering the vengeance of eternal fire”. The verb “suffering” is present tense.
I recommend studying the Greek (interlinear):

Y’shua Himself describes ongoing torment and blazing flames for the rich man in Luke’s Gospel, Chapter 16:24:

I looked up the Greek word for flame and it means “flame”, so I choose to believe what King Y’shua says is true. Clearly the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah occurred before Y’shua’s account of the certain rich man in Luke 19.

Mordechai. My final argument about “eternal” hellfire. If “the wages of sin” were conscious, unending, never ceasing, eternal torment, then the ONLY WAY that Jesus Christ could experience the full penalty for our sins would be for Him to consciously suffer eternal torment in our behalf.
Is Christ today burning for our sins? No! Did Christ drank the wine of Gods indignation? Yes! In fact he died for our sins, because “the wages of sin is death.” To say that “the wages of sin” is burning forever, and then to deny that Jesus Christ will burn forever, is to deny that Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins.
Can´t you see that you have misunderstood the teaching about the wages of sin? There is really a hellfire on the earth, and the smoke thereof will ascend forever. But the fire will not burn forever!
Let me suggest another way of looking at the meaning of ‘forever’.
Linear time is just one aspect of the physical universe (some refer to it as the fourth dimension). From a position outside of the universe/time it may be possible to see anything that happened in history as an eternal moment (“and the smoke thereof will ascend forever).

Yet, Y’shua (Jesus) tells us about punishment in these verses, among many. Note the amount of “stripes”:
“And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. (Luke 12:47:48).
It is written:
“He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.” (Revelation 22:11).
Mordechai. Yes, the lake of fire means punishment and because God is just that punishment will be according to the works of the unjust. But there will be no eternal punishment, because that would be unjust beyond imagination.

According to your statements, the same word used by Jesus has different meanings: with life it means everlasting, with punishment, it means something else.

Mordechai. I believe that those who are reconciled to God through Jesus Christ have their sins forgiven, and receive the gift of eternal life. I believe that the unsaved do not have eternal “life” in Hell, but will be resurrected in order to face judgment, and receive the penalty of death (“The Second Death”), which is permanent (eternally effective).
