Jews discern the Pope

Read Ruthie Blum’s take on the Popes last visit to the Middle East.

The Pope is a friend of the World, bowing before the Queen of Jordan.
The Pope is a friend of the World, bowing before the Queen of Jordan.

It is the height of irony, then, that before returning to Rome, The invited “peacemakers” Abbas and outgoing Israeli President Shimon Peres to the Vatican “to pray with [him].” The three-way session is to take place on June 8.

Peres is the epitome of “forgiving those who trespass against us” before defeating them — an attitude that has had dire consequences. And the only peacemaking in which Abbas has engaged is with Hamas, a terrorist organization that considers the killing of Jews and Christians a religious imperative.

Praying to God to “deliver us from evil” is meaningless if we excuse and court it. Welcoming a perpetrator and his apologist into the Vatican is not only incomprehensible in this context. It constitutes the Catholic Church’s spiritual, moral and political abandonment of the millions of Christians living in perpetual fear of their Muslim persecutors.

In a Vatican Radio broadcast on Wednesday, Francis referred to his trip to the Holy Land as a “great grace.”

Last week, before embarking on a three-day visit to Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Israel, Pope Francis stated that his trip would be “strictly religious.” A key reason for his short sojourn, he said, was to “pray for peace in this land that has suffered greatly.”

After arriving, however, he spent less time engaged in prayer than in politics.

This would have been completely appropriate had the bishop of Rome and the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church addressed the religious nature of the Islamist war being waged against Christians and Jews. It would have befitted the head of the Holy See to stand at the believed-to-be sites of Jesus’ birth and baptism and bemoan the fate of his flock at the hands of Muslim fanatics bent on subjugating all “infidels.” It would have been in keeping with his mission to reassure the world’s Christians that good will prevail over evil.

Sadly, this is not how the pope’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land panned out. Though he did mention the plight of his people when in Amman last Saturday, it was to praise Jordan’s “climate of serene coexistence” between Muslims and Christians.

“I thank the authorities of the kingdom for all they are doing,” he said, while meeting with King Abdullah II and Queen Rania at their palace. “And I encourage them to persevere in their efforts to seek lasting peace for the entire region. This goal urgently requires that a peaceful solution be found to the crisis in Syria, as well as a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”

On Sunday, the pontiff went to Bethlehem. There he met with PA President Mahmoud Abbas, whom he called “a man of peace.”

As always, Abbas and his cronies put their best lies forward, undoubtedly denying Christian flight in droves from Palestinian-controlled areas on the one hand, while blaming Israel for the phenomenon on the other.

The remaining tiny Christian minority in Bethlehem was then treated to a mass delivered by the pope at Manger Square. But his words were drowned out by the muezzin of the Omar Mosque calling Muslims to prayer and blasting “Allahu akbar” (God is great) into a loudspeaker.

For visual effect, a mural painted in honor of the pope showed the baby Jesus swaddled in a keffiyeh next to his earthly father, Joseph, whose head was covered in the style of late Palestinian Liberation Organization chief Yasser Arafat.

This complemented the dozens of posters placed strategically around the city comparing Palestinian suffering to that of Jesus.

It was all a perfect lead-in to taking the pontiff to see children in the Dheisheh refugee camp. You know, those kept in squalor for decades by the PLO and exploited for international sympathy, fundraising and Israel-bashing purposes.

On the way, his motorcade stopped at the separation barrier, erected by Israel to keep Palestinian suicide bombers at bay.

There, against the backdrop of anti-Israel graffiti using Holocaust imagery, the pope put his head against the wall and prayed for peace.

My comment:

It is positive that many Jewish settlers in Zion is able to discern the Pope. To acknowledge, and even publicly say, that the

Pope is not a true friend of Israel.  To be fully able to understand that the Pope is not an ambassador of Jesus the Messiah.

Many Jews have been affected by modern day evangelization, that bell the Pope as an antichrist. If can be fully understood, if the Messiah is the re-gatherer of the Jewish people. The very rock of Israel, who re-birthed the state of Israel.

This is the same Messiah who died for the sins of the World in Jerusalem 2.000 years ago. And only by His blood man can find forgiveness for sins.

The true followers of the Messiah, stand united with the Jewish people. They do not accept Islam as a “peace movement”, and they do not embraced and support the PLO.

The Pope is correctly discerned by many Jews. But what about many Christians, who hail the “Holy see” as a Christian leader?

  1. What is the popes ultimate objective in Jerusalem one thing for sure he is not qualified to preach peace.Only Yehoshua Jesus our Lord is our peace Him only is the way the truth and the life.

  2. First of all, the Vatican/Catholic church is hypocritical from the beginning. When the Pope mentioned that “Jesus” spoke Aramaic, (and yes this is absolutely true) but Hebrew as well, it seems the Pope should know the Scriptures a bit more and use it to what YHWH intended. It is written: Peace, peace there is no peace. So how come they keep speaking about that? They are blind and think they can forgive sins, and being the Vicar of Christ (in place of) can do anything. Number 2/ They are the ones who changed the REAL Sabbath to Sunday, as it was meant for the worship of the Sun. This is a historical fact. The Catholics readily admit that they changed this date, and even more so the Romans between the first and second century changed and forbid anyone to observe the Sabbath. The date, from Genesis has always been the Saturday Sabbath, it is not a “Jewish thing” . The Feast days were given to the Hebrews to observe because the other nations were steeped in pagantry and the promise was to Abraham and all those by faith and of course descendents of Jacob. We thank Yahushua (Y’shua haMashiyach)for ‘grafting us in’. We are grafted in.
Number 3… Add another idol to kiss for the Vatican, as the Pope kisses the concrete partition wall to keep the ones of Palestine who want to murder innocent children and loving families.
Number 4- Has anyone known that the Romans gave the name Palestine to the area and Phillistines? Yes, this is so. Has anyone known that one of the seven hills in Rome happened to be named Palentine? Yes, only one letter change to make it Palestine.
Is this a coincidence? You decide
    Shabbat Shalom

    1. I you made a mistake it is not the Catholics who changed sabbath to Sunday the Apostols did to the first day of the week.

      1. History has proven it was Constantine who changed the Sabbath to Sunday (Sun-worship day) The Israelites still keep the 7th day Sabbath. The Catholics and the whore daughters keep sunday as their day of worship. Yahweh has never changed or done away with His laws (torah) and neither has His son Yahshua. He wouldn’t make laws and then send His son to do away with them. That doesn’t compute.

  3. If it is the will of God that the Pope does, then so be it, for who can stand against the Lord of Glory, (in the mercy)last witnessed standing in the fullness , with eyes as like fire, hair white as snow, hands & feet as of fine brass, His voice like that of a multitude, clear as crystal , not a human voice & He stood as the Angel of the Church of Thyatira – In General the Catholic Church, in battle readiness. Lo who can or has ever stood against the Lord of hosts.

    1. The Lord of Hosts, even the Lord of Glory, short hair, white as wool, as stated in Rev. Ch 1 by The Beloved Apostle, for even a breeze of Him through the Church that moves in the Spirit led by “‘Petrus Romanas” (St. Peter) himself, conveyed through a Pope even if Apostate, made the ” Beast & False Prophet” meowing as kittens as was very recently witnessed , in course unto the words in prophecy ‘Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord”. For the Church that moves in the Spirit against which the gates of hell will not prevail is the revelation of truth “Of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church” unto Rom 8:19, to the coming of the Lord , even the prosecution of ‘the Woman” His Bride, resulting in the great & terrible day of the Lord, not some apostate physical Sun moon signs
To Rom 8:19: as to why “Creature eagerly waits in earnest expectation for the manifestation of the sons of God” . ’cause they are the revealed 144000 consisting of the Prophesied first fruits of the Lamb/The Elect of God/ The Remnant seed of the Woman , for by them are a multitude that eventually stand before the throne in white garments even as Rev, states, for did not the Messiah state unto the Apostles “Greater works ye shall do” is but the emphesis on the Second Commandment “Love thy Brethren’ apart from the First Commandment “Love thy God’.
They who are redeemed from among men , not defiled by women unto sexual corruptions, the core of which is Sodom’. Called the” Rising” for in the OT is stated “The sons of God married the daughters of men”, subsequently fell, This but reveals spiritually the history of man in brief, to the fall & rise of mankind back unto God the Father, by the Redemeer.

The eighth day has been mentioned a couple of times in the Old Testament.
    Nehemiah 8:18
18 And he read in the book of the law of God day by day, from the first day till the last, and they kept the solemnity seven days, and in the eighth day a solemn assembly according to the manner.
    Also read: Leviticus 9:1-2, 14:23, 15:14-15,29-30, 22:27, 23:36-39, Numbers 6:10-11, 29:35, and Ezekiel 43:27

    Isaiah 1:13
13 Offer sacrifice no more in vain: incense is an abomination to me. The new moons, and the sabbaths, and other festivals I will not abide, your assemblies are wicked.
Compare this prophecy with its fulfillment in
    Colossians 2:16-17
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat or in drink, or in respect of a festival day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths,
17 Which are a shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ.
    In Acts 20:7,
“And on the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, WHEN WE HAD MET FOR THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD, Paul addressed them…”
Right here is the beginning of Sunday worship.

Yes it was the Catholic Church which changed the day to Sunday, for since the Apostles made the change, all you did was to confirm that they were all Catholic.

    1. There is so much to cover, this eighth day is Shemini Atzeret, it is a seldom mentioned feast day, and it is connected to Simchat Torah, but mostly connected to the Feast of Sukkot. This day is to be kept as a Sabbath regardless of which day of the week that it happens to fall on.
Shemini Atzeret is like a little hook that is connected to the end of the Feast of Sukkot, which is a shadow picture of the Millennial reign. A time when Yeshua will once again tabernacle with us for one thousand years. Shemini Atzeret is eternity, this is when we step out of the constraints of time and enter into eternity.

As for Paul and his disciples meeting on the first day of the week to break bread and pray together. Paul lays out their travel plans, there is absolutely no mention of changing the Sabbath day. Do you only eat or pray on the Sabbath?

If you read Nehemiah 8, start with verse 16, and you will see that this eighth day is the day that immediately follows the festival of booths, or Sukkot. Again, this is Shemini Atzeret.

In Colossians, Paul is speaking to the newly baptised Christians in Colossae, who have just come out of Paganism. Understanding the context and the audience is critical to understanding this passage. Here Paul is warning them not to let their former pagan associates judge them in the keeping of a new moon, a Sabbath, ect. These new celebrations will not go unnoticed. Paul is just giving them the heads up, letting them know what to expect.

The GOD who created the Universe designated the last day of the week as the Sabbath. It has never been changed, Yeshua never changed it, however, He did keep it. The disciples never changed it either, nor would they have had the authority to do so.

I hope that this has been of some help, and I hope that it will bless you and entice you to study the Feasts of the Lord, they are prophetic, and they give you insight into the end times.

As for GOD hating the feasts days: Isaiah 1:10,15, Here GOD is speaking to the rulers of Sodom, and to the people of Gomorrah. Pay close attention to verse 14, HaShem calls the feast “YOUR FEAST DAYS,” and YOUR NEW MOONS.” He does not say that they are His Feasts DAYS.” This is much the same as today, Christians continue to celebrate the Sabbath on the first day of the week, not on the last, as GOD has instructed. Pagan Easter still replaces Passover. He hates these Feasts, they are not His.

    2. If y’all are going to insist that we keep all the specifics in some sort of hyper shakin and insist Paul was speaking of pagans without specifying “pagans”, then you must keep foot washing as part of the communion service, for our Lord also commanded that we do as He did. John 13:1-17, vs. 8,14 especially. OR, is it an example of grace, mercy, and humility towards one another? Jesus our Passover tells us to OVERCOME. He was not talking about Sabbaths, but sin. When the man of perdition shows himself, there will be no room for picking out tje speck in one another’s eyes.

  5. Armorrcc….you have proven how very little you know of scripture and the Hebraic roots of Faith.  You have mentioned many scriptures that I do not have time to go through each so let me start with Nehemiah 18:  this is regarding Sukkot.  A 7day festival.  A beautiful picture of the return of our Maschiach and establishment of His reign for a thousand years.  The Eighth day is representative of the “Day of circumcision”. The “Olam Habba”…the World To Come. It has nothing to do with the Creator changing as if He were a man.
Now the rest of your scriptures are wrongly understood if you have come to the conclusion that G-d changed His Sabbath to Sunday (p.s. Sunday is the first day of the week…not the eighth).  I will leave it up to you.  An easier way to see that the Catholic Church is responsible for changing to Sunday is to see it in their own Church writings and doctrine.  They say it themselves and do not list any scriptural proofs that G-d had anything to do with it….but rather a decision by the Magisterium.
Shavua Tov!  Since today is the first day of the week!

  6. The bible says, : the L-rd speaking, MY Sabbath will never change, NO shadow of turning… and it will be there forever, just like HE will and those who love and follow the risen King Yeshua..for those who do refuse the Truth, G-d said, I will send a lie and they will believe the lie..how sad so many refuse to believe HIS WORD but believe men. G-d said they would have double punishment. and G-d even said: it is better to believe G-d than man.. HE said, I am the light of Prophecy..a light onto our path so we would know the truth. hard to see anyone would believe men over Almighty G-d and then seeing the things fulfilled today and still fall all over antichist
