Modern Christians are “called” to suffer and even die for the faith in a new era of ‘martyrdom’, says Archbishop of Canterbury.
Christians are facing a new age of “martyrdom” across much of the world, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said.
Speaking in Istanbul, Turkey, the Most Rev Justin Welby singled out the persecution of believers across the Middle East and said Christians are still “called” to suffer and even die for the faith in the 21st Century.
But he insisted that religion is often just a “pretext” for violence and not the real cause.
He made his remarks at the end of a two-day visit with the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholemew I, the most senior cleric in the eastern Orthodox church.
His comments in a city which has in the past been the capital of both the Christian and Muslim worlds underline the significance he attaches to the threat to Christians in the region, an issue the Prince of Wales also singled out last month.
Referring to the original Greek meaning of the word martyr, as a “witness”, he said: “Your history is more and more important in the increasing confrontations of the world in which religion is used as a pretext for violence that in reality comes from greed and the pride of human beings.
“You have demonstrated over the centuries the martyrdom to which we are called in scripture, the call to witness in word and life, a call more important than life itself”.
“The cost of that martyrdom is seen in so many places today.
“Closest to here we remember and seek the mercy of Christ and intercession of the Blessed Mother on Syria.” He then singled out the orthodox leaders in Aleppo and Antioch.

I am not an Anglican, but are aware that Jesus the Messiah can use this Bishop to send us a message of truth. And even my self….
Prosperity teachers deceive the flock. They present to us an ideology of our guaranteed success in the flesh, in the name of “Jesus”. This is not correct.
The desire of the flesh, is at war with God. And the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
Jesus of the Bible in bluntly demanding the willingness to give the ultimate sacrifice from all his followers. And today, the blood of the martyrs are flowing all over the World, less post-Christian America and Europe.

The martyrs are alive. The lukewarm’s are walking dead, and deceive both them selves and those who are listening to them.
Those who listen to them, eventually falls into a pit.

I was watching a youtube video by Sid Roth, his guest was Tom Horn. They were discussing the rise of the New World Order and the rise of the Antichrist.
The demon spirit of Osiris, according to occultist, is supposed to return at the end of days. Osiris, and Apollo are one in the same. Immediately, I thought of the scripture in Revelation 9:11, And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Greek is Apollyon, but in Hebrew is Abbadon. Then there is a correlating scripture, Revelation 17:8, The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come out of the abyss and go to destruction. So the Antichrist spirit is an angel.
The ancient sign for Osiris was ‘O’ I thought of Obama’s logo. The flies that seem to surround him. His “lawlessness,” that no one seems able to hinder.
The mystery surrounding his birth, fake birth certificate, and phoney social security number. Then there are the videos of Obama’s visit to Egypt, and the striking resemblance that Obama has to the ancient pharaoh.
Everyday, I am becoming more convinced that Obama is the Antichrist.
Another interesting point that they brought up was how every presidential inauguration ceremony is also an occult ceremony, in which they call for the demon god Osiris, also know by other names to come fourth.
One example is George W Bush’s reference to the angel in the whirlwind. He mentioned it twice. “It is still the angel in the whirlwind who directs this storm.”
