US TV-star who belled gays as perverts: Fired

Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty on “indefinite hiatus” after remarks on homosexuals magazine interview.

Phil Robertson told the truth about homosexuality, and was taken off the air.

A star of one of America’s most popular television programs has been dropped by its broadcaster after describing gay people as “homosexual offenders”.

Phil Robertson, who appears on the reality show Duck Dynasty, was placed on “indefinite hiatus” by the A+E network, after his remarks were published in an interview with GQ magazine.

Describing “sin” as “not logical,” he said:

“Start with homosexual behaviour and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

The lavishly-bearded 67-year-old has a leading role in the Louisiana-based programme, which is the most-watched reality show and second-most-watched show of any kind on US cable television.

My comment:

While nations as Russia and India uphold freedom of expression, the West is moving the totalitarian way. With the United States of America as the leader of the flock.

Russia and India both have laws to contain homosexuality, a bid to preserve and proceed the God given marriage and family life.

In the West,  everything is turned up side time. Normality is presented as “Christian intolerance” and sexual perversion honored as something noble, and even blessed by claimed to be Christian priests.

 Jude 1:7

In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

The Bible is crystal clear that homosexuality is sin. God of the Bible destroyed two cities in ancient Israel, since the cities were deceased by homosexual offenders.  Abraham was not able to find ten sane and righteous men, in the city of Sodom. The barbarians had taken over, and was burned to death with hot sulfur coming down from heaven.

 1 Corinthians 6:9

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.

Jesus the Messiah has warned us, that it will be likewise on Earth, in the days of His second coming. Now we are right at the edge of the coming age of Judgment.
Repent, or perish.

  1. I’m beginning to see Facebook posts regarding Phil Robertson, not being a good example of a Christian and we should be careful about supporting him. But, that’s not the point!

For one thing, Phil Robertson is not Jesus. He’s not perfect. No one is. But, he is definitely taking a stand for his faith in Christ Jesus. If we do nothing, if we don’t stand behind him, then evil will just prevail. We are supposed to be the salt of the earth.

The point is: This is an attack on our freedom and it’s an attack on Jesus Christ and His Word. We should not stand aside and keep watching A&E like nothing has happened.

  3. There is great deception! This is not as it seems. More research needs to be done on this fellow before we jump on the ban wagon, lest you be supporting something you don’t want to and go against God. What church does he got to? What does he think about Israel, what does he thing about the prosperity teaching, Calvinism etc. The Bible says, “blessed are the the poor, blessed are those who mourn, blessed are the meek, blessed are those that hunger, blessed are the merciful, blessed are the pure in heart, blessed are the peacemakers, blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:3-12. May I ask questions? Did this many glorify God in his speech, did he humbly try to communicate to those who are lost the truth? Did he turn people against Jesus by his actions, or to Him?

    1. Dear Nannette.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

You do not have to get it right about Israel, but still speak the truth about homosexuality. Please do not act like a the Pharisees. We who say gay’s live in sin, are all persecuted.

    1. Dear nannette

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

I spoke at a Word of faith congregation a few days ago. It does not make me wrong on gays.

  4. Neither of us are wrong. I’m talking about something else. The way it was said it (it was crude). Explicitly using the body parts used in the act of sex either way, homosexual or not. The language used to describe it. He is a college educated man, he claims to know scripture. Here we go, one side or the other. Not all born again Christians talk that way. The government is trying to catch us saying, “see look at these Christians”. He could have said, This is not what I say, but it is what God says, and I AGREE WITH GOD. I fear God. Why did he not use Romans 1? Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened (verse 21, then the answer in verse 32 “Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” He could have given the gospel after this point, “for Christ died for our sins according to the SCRIPTURES, was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. He could have said Christ died for all sinners, and you can repent of this. Mr. Duck Dynasty was not judging them God is. If this Mr. Duck Dynasty guy even though he is right on homosexuality, he could be very very wrong on other doctrine. I am sure Rick Warren got new converts because of Mr. Duck Dynasty speaking in their church. Scripture talks about false teaching many, many times. What about the sin of Idolatry and covetousness? Worshiping other gods. Mr. Duck Dynasty has been lifted up on a pedestal because of the “true” statement he said about homosexuals, and what he said that all Christians should agree on. A little leaven spoils the whole lump is what I am saying ultimately. 1 Corinthians 5:6, Galatians 5:9. An atheist can agree on this and still hate God. But am I going to join up with Atheists to support Mr. Duck Dynasty even if I agree with him. NO! If a person asked me what I think about Homosexuality and I have said it. It is an abomination to the Lord! And I know you believe that too. Shalom Ivar!

    1. If Phil Robertson was a Muslim the media would respect his world view and religious beliefs. But he is a Christian. That’s why he is being persecuted. He is a brother Nanette. Listen or read his testimony. What he was and what is now only happens as a result of regeneration or re-birth. He is a brother

  5. Remember when the Christian company Chic Fila spoke out about homosexuality last spring. Christians supported Chic Fila by having a chic fila day and purchasing a chicken sandwich. Christians should support Phil Robertson by demanding that the Duck Dynasty show remain. The show always ends with the family around the table, hands held, giving thanks to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
A&E stands to loose to much. I believe they will keep the show and allow Phil Robertson to remain. What the family decides might be different from A&E. they are supporting their father

  6. I agree with Nanette. Black is white, up is down and wrong is right. Nothing of this “controversy” is pointing anyone to Jesus. This isn’t about Phil’s religious beliefs ultimately, it is about freedom of speech. Let’s get on the right bandwagon – freedom of speech is what’s at stake. Religious freedom will soon follow suit. Brace yourselves – our very ability to worship the true Jesus of the Bible is under attack. There is a gnawing decay from within the church itself. Marrying ourselves to this controversy in the name of Christ is a mistake.

    1. Dear Laura.

      Shalom, and love in Jesus.

My right to quote from the Bible is under attack. The Bible explains that gay’s are on their way to Hell. The Bible use very bold and crystal clear language. Homosexuality is a perversion of the creation. Acceptance of “gay marriages” also blur and destroy the Biblical covenant of marriage. It can be nothing but a covenant between God, ONE man and ONE woman. The widespread acceptance of homosexuality leads our culture back towards Sodom and Gomorrah.

The gay’s are not alone. They will be thrown in Hell along with people who are immoral, those who slander others, the fornicators (having sex outside of marriage) and people who live in adultery. (also those who are divorced, and remarried)

The problem is not that we are limited in our worship pf Jesus. I can do that, even inside my shower. The problem is that there is no longer preaching about sin in many congregations, but rather an acceptance of sin. Or utter silence about sin. Because most of the people who sit in front of the pulpit, takes pleasure in their life in sin.

In many Churches, there are no bible studies, and hardly anyone is quoting from the Bible. And many messages in the Bible are completely overlooked or ignored.

The deception in our “Churches” is an ongoing spiritual disaster. There has never been, and will never be, true love outside of truth. Just read the Words of Jesus. He called people “children of the devil”, “brood of vipers”, and “white washed tombs”.
      Truth from A to Z.

      1. Shalom Ivar,
Please don’t misunderstand me. I agree wholeheartedly with the biblical definition of sin. I am troubled though that a TV personality draws “outrage” from Christians who are angered by his censor at A&E. Where is our outrage at the so called Christian music industry that is spreading emergent lies like wildfire? If Phil is a true Christian, and I have no reason to believe he is not, then he should count it all joy to suffer persecution for the faith. We are living in troubling times. Thank you for your site.

      2. Dear Laura.

        Shalom.

Thanks for blessing me. I understand you points of view. Still, I feel it is a paradox that you can quote from the Bible in public in India, also in in regards to homosexuality, and almost all will agree. But in the USA, you are banished from doing so.

Both Russians and Hindus in India still consider homosexuality to be sin. Likewise, all Bible obeying Christians.

    2. Laura, I disagree. I feel Phil Robertson did a great job in proclaiming the bad news of sin and judgment, which esp in USA culture, is an important first step before need is admitted and good news received, since here so many of us think (wrongly) we’re basically good people and don’t need salvation. Phil used the Bible in a down-to-earth, matter-of-fact way rather than a stuffy holier-than-thou way or a detached academic way or a hate rant way — his including a list of sins instead of targeting only one sin a;sp was wise imo. Respectful talk about the Bible, about sin, about Christian persecution, and more is going on now. Apostle Paul in Gal 5:12 used language suggesting to holier-than-thou types that they cut off their male body parts, is Phil’s use of biological terms for body parts in the context of men’s magazine GQ so much cruder? Some prepare the soil, some plant, some water, rarely is it done all at once — in my circles I do see people being pointed to Jesus, both non-Christians and us Christians on our journey in discipleship.

  7. I went on the site of his church. There is no statement of faith, no sermons people could look at. No one pastor that you can check his credentials and beliefs. Just programs such as: Christian counseling, celebrate recovery, and divorce help. Excuse me but is not the book of Proverbs our book on psychology? Sin is what needs addressing like Ivar said, not programs. Getting the gospel out, getting people born again. Once they are saved and receive the Holy Spirit they can understand and be taught by God’s word. What I am saying is: Mr. Phil Robertson talks about Homosexuality as a sin, which he is very right, and so is Glen Beck the Mormon, and even the Catholic church said divorce and re-marriage was sin! Just because they are right on one issue we agree with does not make them right about other Biblical truths. Sometimes people say the correct things while compromising in others. My family is filled with unbelievers and they believe homosexuality is wrong, but they are not saved. The one world government, the one world religion who Rick Warren seems to be doing a good job of promoting. Now if Mr. Phil Robertson is in the camp of Rick Warren should not we check him out just like checking out any professing Bible teacher? If we don’t check him out on other issues we would be promoting something we are not aware of, and wish we had known more about this man. The Bible says persecution is coming! We should be carefully and prayerfully following what Jesus warned us about IN THE LAST DAYS! “And Jesus answered and said unto them. Take heed that no man deceive you.” Matt. 24:4, “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Matt. 24:11. “And these were more noble than those in Thessalonica in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11. They even checked Paul out! Hello!

  8. Surprise surprise. The money for A&E will keep flowing, that is their bottom line. I sincerely double that they care what we think. I going to purchase a new shirt that is camo because I like camo, but could not find one without Duck Dynasty on it. I changed my mind. Just a note about the link below. Celebrate recovery began in 1991 by Rick Warren and John Baker of the saddleback church. It seems as though Mr. Robinson is their spokesman. Are we comprohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ujDEUwdklEAmising Christians?

  9. Hi Nannette,
    Happy New year.
You are correct about A&E. it’s about the money.
You obviously don’t like this man and I don’t understand your reasoning. I have heard him speak and give his testimony. His life is a story of God’s grace. It’s amazing. What he used to be and what he is now is a work of God. A person does not change like that on his own. And if he is born again and I have no reason to believe
Otherwise, God will finish his work in Phil Robertson.
What’s wrong with celebrate recovery by the way. It’s only proper
For him to speak highly of it and what it does because he’s a recovering alcoholic

  10. Todd, I did not say I don’t like him! I said we are under deception. ‘Celebrate Recovery’ was started by Rick Warren and John Baker of Saddleback church in 1991!!. Rick Warren is a false teacher!. Phil Robinson seems to be used to promote Rick Warrens program. I did not hear Phil Robinson proclaim the gospel or say he was saved by the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, John 3:16. Listen to Phil’s preaching very carefully, please. These programs are everywhere, and I have not heard the gospel!!!!! “Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES, and that He was buried, and He was resurrected the third day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.
