Half of the children in Israel have been victims of abuse, violence or neglect, a study published by Haifa University has revealed.
48.5 percent of Israeli children report physical, emotional or sexual attacks, neglectful behavior or other kinds of abuse.
The study also revealed that many abuse cases go unreported or untreated, creating a gap of hundreds of percentage points between the occurrence of abuse and awareness by professionals in the field.
Close to half of all Israeli children, 48.5 percent, reported having experienced one or more types of violence, classified into physical, emotional or sexual attacks, or neglectful behavior, among others.
Professors Rachel Wiesel and Zvi Itskovich, who direct the center for social research at Haifa University and led the study, noted that there was a gap between the number of child abuse victims who reported incidents of abuse to authorities and the number of children who directly indicated that they were abused.
“This is a seismic event,” said Israel National Council for the Child Director-General Dr. Yitzhak Kadman, who participated in the research.
“It turns out that what we knew until now was just the tip of the iceberg. All of the authorities and officials occupied by the issue will need to reassess in order to reach these clammed up or hidden children.”

Israel is fare from perfect, and the Jewish people must not be glorified.
The homecoming of the Jews to Israel, is neither based on a divine premium for their faithfulness nor their righteousness. The Jews are home in Israel because of the eternal plan of bringing the Messiah back to Jerusalem, to face His own people.
I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign Lord. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, people of Israel!
Israeli Arabs, and both religious and secular Jews, are not worse or better than others.
Inside Israel, those who have not been saved by the Messiah will eventually be caught in the same sins and crimes as the rest of non-believers.
There is only one solution, to all who seek true peace with God of the Bible. You have to search for the truth, and surrender to the “prince of peace”. Only He can save you, and give you a new life. In His blood, there is forgiveness for all sins. This is the good news.
Yeshua of Nazareth is the Messiah. He is alive…!..We can expect any one else to come and save us. Lord: Please have mercy in the children of Israel. Amen.
