Daily bread from the life of Y´shua

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Messiah would come to Earth in flesh in the fullness of time as the fulfillment of all prophecies.  Since there was no New testament when Jesus walked on Earth, The Word of God that took on flesh is the Old Testament, the Jewish Bible. Jesus is the Law, the truth and grace. This is something to reflect on, for all claimed to be Christians who feel that God of the Bible has ended his special relationship with the Jewish people.

  1. Remarkable. A statement whereby the interpretation of the word is less than the truth, or even twisted to make a statement that isn’t true. You take a passage from the New testament (John 1) to mock the new testament by saying the old testament is thee word of God. Why then are you not Jewish instead of Christian?

Why are you suggesting to Christians to reflect on an idea that the old testament is the word of God? Isn’t it better to suggest to us to seek out the truth instead? Why would you want us to reflect on things Jewish instead of Christian? I am not saying the old testament is not important – in fact I spend more than 50% of my time in there as I love the prophets’ books, however, the bible is a whole.

Further, why are you saying I’m only a so-called Christian? I can assure you I am born again and know my Lord Jesus. I am not so-called or anything less than a believer of the truth. The Word of God is not the old testament or the new testament, but is Jesus plain and simple. He is the Word and was with God in the beginning – I guess the old and new testaments weren’t around then.

Yes the Jews were once the apple of God’s eye, but that was God’s choice – not anything special that the Jews had done to earn that special bond. They, at many times throughout their history, turned their back on God and that is why God sent the true prophets to call the people back to Him.

I cannot see what is the interest in all things Jewish for us as Christians. Yes Jesus was a Jew, and yes they were once the nation that walked with God the Father, and who He treasured. However, weren’t the pharisees also Jewish? Didn’t the Jewish people keep away from the Samaritans, and yet it was the good Samaritan who helped the man lying on the roadside? This was Jesus saying that it is the heart that is measured and that no matter what you are – a Jew or Gentile on the outside – it will be God who judges us as He judges the heart.

As you have such a fascination for the old testament, why don’t you throw out your new testament, your belief in Jesus, and then see if you make it to Heaven. Do you think you will? No you wouldn’t, and neither does anyone who does not come to salvation through Jesus Christ. That is the only “dispensation” the Jews and Gentiles alike have now and at any future time.

Does God have favourites? If so, wouldn’t it make me feel really not special that He prefers someone else to me? Yes it would, and I’d question why bother with God if He has His favourites. He does not have favourites though, and He is no respecter of persons.

Jew and Gentile alike can only come to the Father through the Son. Believing that there is a special place for anyone that does not believe in the Messiah in a future time essentially is making a fool of the Lord, is in fact disbelieving He is Lord and the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Why then would Jesus say He is all these things? Is Jesus a liar? God sees all of us the same these days – we are all human alike. He made way for us Gentiles to make the Jews jealous. Yes they are still an important nation to Him – however the only way they can be “grafted back in” is to come to the Lord Jesus Christ. I reiterate – we are all important to Him and He takes no joy in the wicked ending up in hell.

Before anyone accuses me of being anti-Semitic, I shall say in no way am I. I believe in the atrocities of the WWII that happened, I believe that many Jewish people are targeted for abuse, but then so are people of all different races, colours, creeds, levels of intellect and so forth. That is the whole point in being Christian: the ‘evil’ in man’s heart is to be lessened as we let Christ rule in our hearts and spirits. If we allow Him to rule and allow the Holy Spirit to tell us the truth, we will not be deceived by the state of our own hearts.

As you are doing such a great job of warning other Christians of the awful state of the current church, I only hope the Lord will show you the whole truth and continue doing so.

    1. Dear Gaynor.

Shalom, and welcome back with this rather long comment, free from Biblical verses to defend your viewpoint.

You are right, and you are wrong. Right in the sense that Jesus is the way, life and truth. No one, will be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven without His permission. We all have to face Him. He is the gate.

But you are wrong because of your lack of understanding of the Bible, the very scripture, your Master held in His hands. It was the Hebrew Bible. The Tanakh. (Old Testament). Since the New Testament says Jesus is the Word that became flesh, I guess that He is the prophetic words of the Old Testament walking on Earth in flesh?

The New Testament is Jesus confirming every Word of the Old Testament. He quoted from the Old Testament from morning till evening.

You can voice your opinion, but do not contradict the scriptures.

      Matthew 22:29
Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.

What kind of scriptures was your Master talking about?

      Luke 24:27
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

And why did Jesus come? What was He expected to do, if not to fulfill the Old Testament promises given by His Father God?

      Romans 15:8
For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs.

      2 Corinthians 1:20
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

      Dearest sister.

If you delete the promises Father, Son and Spirit made in the Old Testament, you are following a – Jesus – of your pastors imagination. He has deceived you.

      1. You say Jesus is the prophetic *words* of the OT. But He is greater than that. Let’s look at the verse you misinterpreted in context:

        John 1:1-5,14,17
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men. [5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. [17] For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the Word: the Divine Word, the Eternal Logos and Only Begotten Son of God, light of light, true God of true God, with exactly the same Divinity as the Father. He is the Hypostatic Word, that is, He is the Person the Word.

All the words about God are given by and through and in Him; they participate in Him, but they are not Him. The letters and words of Scripture are from Him, but they cannot contain Him, and they are not Him *hypostatically*. They bear witness to him. This is why the Scriptures are called the Word of God by extension: because they participate in, and witness to, and make known the Word, Christ Jesus.

Jesus is not the incarnate Old Testament. He is the Incarnate Word of God.

In John 1, the Law, given through Moses, is explicitly contrasted to the grace and truth that come from Jesus Christ, Who fulfills the Law, indeed, Who fulfills all righteousness.

  2. You say I write too much? If I have a lot to say, why is that wrong? You say I deny the words of the Lord Father God. Is that what you do when you state opinion (Jews are more special to God than us)? I’m not sure of any in-context, bible quotes for that one.

I seek your forgiveness for my opening gambit in my last reply which was sarcastic. My final comment was not sarcastic however, and was one of encouragement. However, I see that perhaps you feel that is not the case. Instead of discussing the points made against your statement that we Christians should believe that Jews are even more special, you have chosen to ridicule me. Further, I find your response patronising, especially where you say I do not provide biblical quotes. You shouldn’t be so quick to suggest I do not know my Bible. If you know the Bible you clearly see that ‘my opinion’ is lifted from the bible. The thing I took offence to is that you say I am contradicting the Scriptures. I think the passages below speak for themselves.

It is clear that anyone can use a bible quote to back up half-truths, or even lies as is rife in today’s church. Isn’t that the whole reason for the divisions in the church: loose interpretation?

I am not deleting the truth or promises of the words of the Father. Yes Jesus came to fulfil the law and the prophets and I have no doubt of it (as He said it – Mat 5: 17), however, He has fulfilled the Law: that is the whole point (Rom 10:4). The fulfilling of the words of the Old Testament came with the birth of Jesus’ ministry, His death, and resurrection (Col 2: 14-15). I’m not saying the old testament does not hold true, however, the laws are a shadow of the things that were to come (Col 2:17). There is a new better way and that is Jesus. The reality is found in Christ (Col 2:17). If we do not believe Jesus has fulfilled the law and the prophets, we still await a Messiah.

You reference Luke 24:27. Taken in context, all references to the Messiah in the old testament point to Jesus, and thus the fulfilment of the old testament in Christ. As stated, Jesus fulfilled everything and nailed it all to the cross.

I am not one given over to accepting the thoughts of others as my own. That is something I have never succumbed to from day 1. The only thoughts of another I will base my own on are the Lord’s, and I have no pastor, so I am not deceived. Previously I have had pastors, however, at this time, I have chosen to be out of church (not fellowship) because of the lies preached there, e.g. prosperity preaching.

I think you will find a lot of Christians in that place, although I’m sure you may find some bible quote to tell me that I’m in spiritual darkness because I have chosen to be out of church. Or perhaps even, that because I have no pastor leading me, I’m so deceived of my own thoughts. I will listen to the Spirit for the whole truth and not to man (Mat 23:9). If you choose to take the higher moral ground on this one, I’m sure you will forgive me for my hastiness to expect such response.

Gal 3 is a good passage. Verse 1-5, especially v3 – after having believed why were the Galatians now trying to do works, Verse 6-7 – ALL who believe are children of Abraham, Verses 10 and 11 – no one is justified before God without faith, Verse 14 – by faith we receive the promise of the Spirit, Verse 16 – the promises were for Abraham and the Seed – Jesus, Verse 24 – the law and the promise (verse 18) lead to Christ, Verse 28 – there is neither Jew nor Gentile – we are ALL one in Christ.

Romans 10:12 – For there is no difference between the Jew and the Gentile: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Isaiah 65:1 – I revealed myself to a nation that did not call on my Name. Verse 9 – my servants will inherit and possess my mountains, Verse 10 – for my people who seek Me, Verses 11-15 – but as for you who forsake the Lord I will destine for the sword, You did evil in My sight, My servants will eat, but you will go hungry, My servants will rejoice but you will be put to shame, You will leave your name to my chosen ones as a curse, the Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name. This speaks of God taking away His inheritance from Jewish people and giving it to those who believe on the Messiah. In this way He is not breaking His promise to Abraham, but is fulfilling the prophecies of the Old testament.

John 15:6 – the branches of the vine – all who do not abide are cast aside as a branch. The only way they can come to the Father is by Christ (John 14:6) and Rom 11:5 – a remnant chosen by grace, no longer by works, Verse 7 – what Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, Verse 11 – the Jews did not stumble beyond recovery, their error saved us, and in return it is hoped that they will envy our special relationship with the Father and be grafted back in: as natural branches to the natural root (verse 24), Verse 21 – For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will neither spare you, Verse 32 – God gave all men to disobedience that He may have mercy on them all.

    1. Dear Gaynor.

Shalom, and sorry if you feel I have Bible bashed you. But I sincerely request you to use the Scripture when you defend your faith.

First to the election of the Jews, as the chosen people of God of the Bible. Father, Son and Spirit.

You question if the Jews are a special people:

      Your comment:

I’m not sure of any in-context, bible quotes for that one.

      My reply:

      Deuteronomy 7:6
For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

Yes, the Jews are very special. That they have survived 3.000 years of fierce persecution, exiles, slaughters and genocides is a testimony of a living God, who promised to keep a remnant of them, and re-gather them in the last days, into the land of their ancient forefather. Many people who met Jesus in person refused to believe in Him. Many people who see the Jews still standing are equally blinded. Are the Jews more loved than us, gentile saved sinners? Absolutely not. But they are chosen. We are grafted.

Than the need to have fellowship with other followers of Jesus.

      You wrote:

I have chosen to be out of church (not fellowship) because of the lies preached there, e.g. prosperity preaching.

      My reply:

      Acts 2:42
[ The Fellowship of the Believers ] They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

      1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

I understand your problem with prosperity teachings. But you still have to search for true Holy Spirit filled Christians. Two or three. That is all Jesus need, to be there right in the middle.

Blessings from a brother in Jesus the Messiah.

  3. I did say I was not out of fellowship, but out of church. As I believe, the best way is to meet together out of church for prayer and eating and bible study and discussion. I agree with what you have said yes only two or three. I’d rather not be in a place where even the pastors will not listen to the truth of God. When I find a true church I will return.

You sincerely request I use Scripture to defend my faith? So the bible quotes I gave above are not enough? So the word of God is not enough?

Again no discussion of the references where the bible states Jew and Gentile are the same, nor Isa 65. As I said before, its not worth arguing over with other people who do not wish to know the truth. Or at least it isn’t fruitful.

    Prov 4:5-7
Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

    2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

    2 John 1:9-11
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

    1. Dear Gaynor.

I am blessed by knowing that you do attend fellowship. It is not the number of your team, that makes you a Christian. But that the flock (at least a team of 2) has decided to follow Jesus together. To do team work, we need to be of one mind and Spirit. We all have to be – doer-s – of the gospel. The Bible also says we need spiritual guides and shepherds. We need to be under some kind of accountability, so we do not walk astray. For this purpose teams of Jesus forms fellowships, and have Bible studies and worship together.

I regards to Israel, please bless her. The Jews are not flawless. Neither am I.

  4. God is glorified as Savior. 14 Glory to God in the highest .It s really the lyrics of the angel s song that I want to examine this morning..We see a very important point here. That is God is most glorified when He is viewed as or is in the process of acting as Savior. This is a simple deduction. The Angel s song is totally accurate in revealing to us God s true nature. He is not Baal who can t hear and He is not a hostile god like Molech but the true God is a merciful saving God..He doesn t save by overlooking sin the very opposite is true. God saves as He looks sin straight in the eye and pays the sin debt Himself. The only way this could take place is by coming to earth. At the birth of Jesus God takes on flesh. He is incarnate..So when the angels sing their heavenly song of praise they are attributing glory to God in the highest. Glory to God to the 100th power. Glory to God like the earth has never seen. Glory to God in unimaginable ways because He has heard and seen and acted on behalf of fallen humanity. God is most glorified when He acts as Savior..

    1. Dear putYHWH1st.

Now I will spam you. Your never answer my questions, and are not interested in any debate. This is your last chance.

Can those, who call up on the Messiah as ‘Jesus” be saved. Yes, or no?

      Chose a wise reply.

  5. Noooooooo I dont like spam .I will have to check the e-mail when there is a response box. Sorry thats why I dont follow up on these comments. YES those who call on YahuShua Hamashiach who died on the tree for our sins and rose on the third day.the one only first fruit who has ascended to Heaven

    1. Dear PutYHWH1st.

You did not answer my question. And I wounder why. This was a very simple question. Now, I will have to consult my co-editors.

    2. Dear All readers.

      I have spammed PutYHWH1st.

There reason is that “YahuShua Hamashiach”, whoever He might be, can not acknowledge the millions who call up on the Messiah in the name of Jesus. Such a view comes from deceivers, that will not be permitted to continue to link up anything from this site.

I have given this commenter multiple chances to repent, and to explain. Now his messages will end up in the spam filter, where the co-editors can take a second look.
