The Old and the New Covenant

Esther 4:14
For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?”

John 15:12-14
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

Mordecai gave Queen Esther a challenge. If you do not take this opportunity to save your people, you and your relatives are going to perish. The Jewish lady was ready to scarify her life in a bid to save millions of Jews from being slaughtered in a possible genocide, that would have been as bad as the Holocaust.  In such an act of love for her own people, Esther walked in the likeness of Jesus the Messiah. He did not only lay down His life for His own people, but for the redemption of the whole Human race. Jesus is greater then Esther. He rose from the dead, and we are called to walk in the power of His resurrection.

  1. Amen, Ivar! I keep sharing your articles with friends on facebook… and I discuss topics that I have learned more about at prayer service on Wednesday nights. We read scripture, sing and talk about all that’s going on in the world because we see the importance of all that’s happening right now.

I have posed the question to those who think that Bible Prophecy isn’t all that important, mostly because they don’t understand it and won’t take time to read.–> Would you take a road trip without a map? I think many people will be deceived for the very reason that they don’t read and educate themselves. If you don’t read for yourself, it’s easy to be deceived by those who would twist the word. Just my opinion!

I enjoy your posts, and have become a faithful reader. GOD Bless you!

    Missy

    1. Dear Missy.

      Shalom.

Thanks for blessing me. It is of utmost importance that you are in a Christian fellowship, that focuses on the prophetic World. Jesus is not only the ultimate teacher of good moral, and a the correct understanding of the law. He is very much God Most high, who will fulfill all promises and end time events, that is found in all the prophetic books of the Bible.

If we are disconnected from the Tannak (Old Testament), we loose out of 2/3 rd’s of the revelations about who God of the Bible is. We can easily end up as His enemy. In particularly, if we go against His plans for Israel and the Jewish people. That will place us under a curse, and we will be judged for such spiritual foolishness.

  2. Hello Ivar, Shalom

    You wrote,

“If we are disconnected from the Tannak (Old Testament), we loose out of 2/3 rd’s of the revelations about who God of the Bible is.”

    Here is one example.

    In the Old Testament,

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

    In the New,

    Rev 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

Here is another. In the Old Testament,

Isa 66:24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

    In the New,

Mar 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mar 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

The Old and New Testaments work together andare both important in helping us build up our faith. You tell others, thanks for blessing me. Well, I say thanks for blessing others. Keep up the good work my friend. Keep up the good work, and I know you will.

    1. Dear Dave 1543.

      Sabbath Shalom.

Jesus is the Word that came in flesh.

      Which word?

When the Messiah was walking on Earth, there was no New Testament. So it could not be the Word, that was not yet spoken or written down.

The New Testament is Jesus explaining to us the fullness of the Law and the prophetic Word. He came to lead Israel back to the core of their faith, and to pay the perfect atonement for their sins. Also for the sins of the whole World, so we, gentiles, could be grafted into the Jewish faith and become members of the commonwealth of Israel.

The New Testaments does not replace the Old Testament. It confirms the Old Testament, and gives us the perfect revelation of who God is. The Father, Son and Spirit is One God. Always in agreement. From the first book of Genesis, to the last letter of the book of Revelation.

  3. Ivar
May the Lord Jesus bless you. I appreciate your kind and gentile spirit. You always respond in a Christ loving way. I know that all scripture is profitable for reproof, correction and instruction as God has said. The new testament writers used many Old testament passages to prove fullfillment of what was spoken in Old testament. We need all of it to Know God deeper and fuller. However; if one only had a new testament, The gospel that has the power to save is
presented and all men can come to Christ and receive
the wonderful grace gift of forgiveness and obtain the righteousness of God
    Thanks for all you do
I’m almost 60 years old and can say that you teach me and often I stand corrected by your words
    Love you brother

    1. Dear Todd.

Sabbath Shalom, and thanks for blessing me.

Let us reflect on two options.

A man can believe wrongly, but act rightly.

A man can believe rightly, but act wrongly.

Which of these two persons, are more likely to be saved?

I am sure Jesus will honor those who act rightly.

The gospel is very simple. Not a fool shall be without hope. Those who accept Jesus will receive the Holy spirit, and He will take care of the rest. We can simply not be saved, and continue to act wrongly, purposely. Truth-seekers shall find and be protected against grave errors. Jesus said: I will write my law on your heart.

      1. Forgive me for the times when the flesh shows through. My desire is to act rightly
because of what Jesus has done for me. The spirit of Jesus that lives in me searches the deep things of God and also motivates me to live rightly.I think back how I used to be and how I am now and he has done a marvelous work in me Praise to him! I believe I am older than you therefore my prospective is different. But years of life and its stuff makes me see things differently.Any way again keep up the good work that you were predestined to do from the beginning through him that has saved you.
        We are brothers

      2. Dear Todd.

Shalom, and love in Jesus the Messiah.

Yesterday, I question two of my closest co-workers. Do you know Jesus personally?

One of them did not know what to say…

To have knowledge about Jesus is not going to save anyone. You might “believe” correctly, and the Word’s of the Bible can be copied by anyone. The question is” Do you know Him as your best personal friend?

Your best friend is suppose to talk to you, guide you, and be there for your both in times of joy and tribulations. I can go on adding what such a best friendship is suppose to include.

I guess you understand what I am trying to tell.

You might believe doctrinally correct, and still keep on doing what is wrong. But If you have become His best friend, together you will be doers of what is right.

  4. Dear Todd,

I know you wrote to Ivar, and when he has time, I am sure he will respond. But I want to thank you for your encouraging email, and Dave’s also.
We remember our readers in our prayers. Please pray for us.
    God’s blessings on you both.
    Love in the Messiah Jesus,
    Sue

  5. Totally agrees with people who believes old testament is very important. Jesus always said “I am” when I read one of the verses in OT
“And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.”
    Exodus 3:14

And noticed that He always said “I am He” in old testament, Jesus Christ uses those words “I am He” to reveal He is God in the flesh. Believes in Him because He speaks the truth that He said “Father and I are the one”

Get know God better, thanks to Him for send Jesus to the world to reveal His character. If anyone knows Jesus and also know Father in heaven.

Keep up good works and give glory to Him, Ivar. God bless you through Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

Isaiah 53 is very clear to describe who Jesus is. Psalms 2 shows that God and His appoint One – Son of God.

  6. Ivar
It is morning for me so good morning to you.
    Jesus is my best friend.
On this earth in this physical life my wife is my best friend. My relationship with Jesus is like the relationship I have with my wife only better because
because he will never fail me. That is not to say that my wife fails me but she is capable from her fleshly side as I am to her. I know he lives because he walks with me and talks with me. He tells me that I am his own. For the past 3 years I have been only reading scripture. No books or commentaries, only Gods word. Have been taught many things in my life
in church, and by some supposedly learned men of the faith, but as I took on the task of being only committed to reading scripture alone and allow the holy spirit to teach me what the sripture says (because afterall he wrote it) I began to see things that did not line up with what I had been taught through the years.I realized that I had been taught the things that my leaders and teachers had been taught and believed and they had been preached what they had been taught. Much was correct but some did not seem to line up with what i was learning from the spirit. My bible has no footnotes in it. I did not want to be swayed in my thinking by the words of men.
I want only the spirit to teach me. It has been risky even reading your blog. I have bibles that have more of mans words on each page than sripture. I have come to realize that much of the churches belief has been
formulated from mans teaching. There is a lot that is not correct. Sadly some believers have shyed away from me because I have said things that they don’t like to hear. The church is in the same cituation that Israel was in when Jesus came to his people. They had been taught by blind guides and hypocrites and because they believed them they too were blind and missed Jesus and Elijah
The Church today is the same. Thats one of the reasons I believe Jesus is comming soon. I challenge anyone who may be reading this comment to put away your commentaries and other help books and just read Scripture only. It has been a most delightful challenge and has made my love for his word deeper.
Any way thats enough for today I have much to do
Good day to you Ivar and your coworkers also
    Todd.
P.S. I know this doesn’t have anything to do with topic

    1. Dear Todd.

Shalom, and love in Jesus the Messiah.

Thanks for this message. Sometimes we just need to let the love flow, and praise Jesus for everything.
